Speaker 1 (00:06):
Yes, Man in Soap the Podcast. Oh, episode sixteen, growing
every week, having a blest General Hospital. Oh my god,
what a great, phenomenal past week. And I cannot wait, guys,
(00:33):
I cannot wait to get into it. We've talked about
it on the podcast before. If you've listened, if you're
new to the podcast, thank you very much. It's great
when you get those weeks where every episode is like
a banger, it feels like a Friday, and we got
that this past week. Ab solutely Man and Soap the
podcast where we break it down the good, the bad,
(00:54):
and the in between. And I just want to start
off by this. You know what that's for. That's for
the writers from last week. They were simply amazing. Yeah,
we're broadcasting live from the Metro Court. Yes, the writers
(01:14):
were phenomenal. If you've listened before, I can harp on
the writers with the best of them. But I've always
said this, I will give credit where credit is due,
and last week they hit it out of the park
by the way. I mean, they just crushed it. Have
(01:36):
a lot of fun on this podcast and watching General
Hospital my whole life. Used to watch it with my mother.
I was a little paint in the ass driving her
crazy and wouldn't shut up while she was trying to
watch her soap while I was eating a Fried Boloney sandwich.
We didn't have a lot of money grown up, so
fried baloney was like fried bloney was the thing, right,
So I grew up in that God Rest his soul.
Robert Scorpio and Duke and Anna and uh, you know,
(02:01):
I think that sar Feisan was one of the best
villains ever, my favorite, of course being Alcasar, the greatest
villain of all time. So I go way back. I've
been watching this so pretty much my whole life. I've
had a chance to meet Finola Hughes and I Muchannan
back in the day. So I'm gonna name drop just
to give you a little street cred there. So yeah,
(02:21):
we love it. We have a lot of fun on
this podcast. Don't break them down episodically. We'll talk about
specific episodes though. And you know, Monday was just unbelievable.
Joss got her first. Uh I think she killed the guy.
That she killed the guy. I don't remember if she
(02:41):
killed the guy or not, but she she and Vaughn
were electric. Oh my god, I was blown away. I
love Vaughn. Nice shot wife. That's a great quote, and
it was unbelievable. I'm gonna get into a scene that
(03:03):
I thought was one of the best scenes I've ever seen,
and that's a big statement. It was shot so well
without any dialogue. Yeah, and it was one of the
most powerful scenes I've ever seen. I'll share that with
you coming up here in just a little bit. But yeah,
the Five Poppies, Let's go. Five Poppies are taken over.
(03:24):
The storyline Jason and Britt, Jos and Vaughan intruders. WSB's
infiltrated The Five Poppies really good and it's great when
we get, like I've said this last week, when everything
kind of converges in one spot, right, you get all
the drama that's gonna unfold, love when it happens. Really
(03:45):
good stuff. Even the makeup was good this past week.
Jos with a circle or a Vaughan rather with a
rope that you look like he was wearing a blood choker.
The thing was a perfect circle. The blood really good stuff.
Joss gets her second kill too, by the way he did.
She she didn't kill her second kill, right, she killed Cyrus,
and now she killed this in Triuder. She's got two
(04:06):
kills under her belt in her young in her Young Spylight.
Brennan is just gonna promote her now. I mean that
was just unbelievable. Just so many good scenes this week.
I mean, I don't even know really where to start.
I just wanted to start with jos and Vaughan and
the WSB, but we got a heavy dose of Drew
(04:27):
and Stella and Portiae and Curtis and Maxie. Oh. I mean,
it was so good this week. Nina and Carly h
every episode this past week. This is one of the
best weeks I can remember. I really, I really can.
(04:48):
It was a heavy week of Maxy, you know, with
the heart attack, and that was tough. I mean, you
had everybody coming in and spend now and Lu Lulu
had a great week. Okay, you know we had a
great week. I'm gonna tell you right now. Lulu and
Lucas both had great weeks. Huh. Both of them had
(05:10):
great weeks where they've both been very annoying. This was
the Lulu that I liked this past week. This was
the Lucas when he's the doctor that I liked. Mm hm,
really good stuff. I have faith now it gives me
faith in Lucas and Lulu. I thought Lulu handled Obrek
(05:31):
very well. There's some really good scenes this week. That's
the Lulu I like. I mean, that is right. I mean,
that's the that's the Lulu. I like Spinelle talking to
Maxie at the hospital. Those bed scenes are always emotional, right,
I mean, this was just a week and you had
(05:51):
Max and Felicia are warm blankets together in the hospital
with Cody another great scene. Okay, warm blankets, guys. Warm
blankets are like Mac Felicia. They were the great Robert Scorpio, Anna,
Lucy Coe, Scottie Baldwin. These are these characters, MAXI I say,
Maxie Spinelli, these are warm blankets. These are characters that
we love over the years, that make us feel good.
(06:12):
These are our warm blankets, and we got warm blankets
this week. Lucy Cohen said, well, bow, wow, what's gonna
happen there? I don't know. I think he's using her,
but we had our warm blankets. We had our warm
blankets this week, and unfortunately had to have it because
of Maxie. I thought there were some really good scenes.
I do not have a lot of bad this week.
(06:34):
I don't know if I have any bad really other
than well, I have one bead for sure, but good stuff.
Cody and Mac Oh my god, great scenes, just great
scenes and another warm blanket all there for Maxie. Lucas
(06:57):
was really good in those scenes. I mean really really good.
I love that. That was a highlight and I'm assuming
Maxie will pull out of it. I forgot that she's
got Barbara Jeane's heart. It's been a while. Forgot that
she had that heart transplant and all that. How about Stella? Oh, boy,
boy boy? Is Stella in trouble doing the right trying
(07:18):
to do the right thing? Her and Marty in trouble.
What's gonna happen here? Curtis is trying to come to
the rescue. I don't know if Stella knows her consequences right,
I don't know. I mean, just really really good scenes.
The dialogue was great all week. Writers crushed it. Their
(07:40):
best week in a long time. They're They're unbelievable. Did
anyone notice here was weird? Here's something in between? Random
thought Drew's tan was there was some weird coloring going
on lighting this week where Drew and Jason they just
look it's weird, unhealthy, almost too, Dad, it was weird.
(08:06):
I don't know if it was a lighting thing or
what was going on. I wonder if anybody caught that
or am I just the only nerd that pays attention
to that stuff? I mean, I mean there was just
how about ady A. Turner and Sonny and the chemistry
man eighty eight Turner actually getting to hear Drews being
(08:30):
the scumbag that he is and trying to blackmail Sonny
and now eighty eight Turner and Sonny have this connection.
I don't know. I don't think they're using each other.
I think that she sees a different side of him,
and I think he's kind of enamored with her. I hope.
(08:52):
So I really would like to see these two get together.
I really would. I think I think the chemistry would
be really good, at least for a while. Right. Best
scene I've seen in years the shower scene with jos
and Vaughan. It was unbelievable without any dialogue, no dialogue,
(09:19):
I mean intensity and heartbreak. She was crushed as she
killed someone the way if they conveyed it in the
shower and then they made out and then bounce bow Wow.
No I gotta stop that effect. Bow Wow, they're good together.
(09:43):
I wish you guys, I wish my mom was alive,
because if my mom was alive, she'd be like, oh
my god, my mom was from New York. Oh my god.
That Vaughan is such a hunk. Let me tell you something.
If I were a gay man, Vaughn would be my guy.
Oh if I were. I'm just saying if I were gay,
(10:04):
Vaughn'd be my dude. But I'm not. I'm straight with
two cats in a history of bad decisions. But Vaughan
is a stud. Let's go Vaughn. Great shower hair, great
wet hair. Just he's a stud. Overll. I really like
I really like him and Josh together. Yeah. I know
there's a slide age difference. Whatever, get over it. It's
(10:25):
a soap. We have fun. She likes older guys. Anyway,
Dex was older, But I like this Vaughn. I imagine
Vaughn is gonna uh, he's gonna be around for a
little bit. I read a theory on Reddit where they
think that he could be uh Frisco's son, and therefore
(10:47):
he and Maxie would be sisters and brother, brother and sister.
What do you think of that theory? I can see it, right,
I don't know Frisco, and I assume Frisco, and but
I don't know if there is a lost son or
Berth that I'm missing. But anyway, I read a theory
on it. I would be good with that. I would
(11:09):
be really good with that. Hence his ties with the WSB. Right, Yeah,
I mean just Jos and Vaughan. Yeah. Again, that shower
scene was just unbelievably intense and beautiful, and the way
he coddled her and held her. I knew it when
she was in the shower, and that you gotta get
in that shower. I wonder if that shot was improv
(11:30):
where he decided to go in the shower, that'd be
even better if we heard that it was like he
just kind of improve that scene. I doubt it, but
it was just a touching scene. I like him. He
cares for her. They have really good chemistry, Jos. I
don't know. Is the WSB it's intense, right? Is she
in overhead? I mean, I don't know. I don't know.
(11:54):
Good stuff, real good? What else did I like? I'm
looking through my notes Jason and Britt. Good stuff, not
the reunion. I thought, all right, I initially thought didn't.
It's kind of weird. Jason kind of knows that she's
in trouble, you know, but Friday's ending. She came knocking
(12:20):
on that door. She had that look love right, great line.
This week, Britt was asking why didn't you reach out
or something? Jason goes, well, were you were pretending to
be dead? So I can see why you didn't reach out.
Britt goes sense the humor that's new. I thought that
was really good. She saw Jason with that uh the courier,
(12:44):
I forgot the name, but uh kind of got her jealous,
made her realize that she's still in love. I mean,
just really good scenes. I want to stay at the
Five Poppies. Oh my god. Oh Carly and Nina are hilarious.
(13:13):
Oh my god. I think Nina kind of took her
down a few months ago, right, little cat fight in
the house. Now, Carly just threw her in the pool.
I love Nina to the waiter when she got out
of the pool. How you doing? The writing was just,
oh shit, writing was dope on a rope. This week,
(13:39):
Michael was tough old Drew Drew trying to expo Drew
just trying and trying and trying. And I don't know
if Marty's not going to be the key to this
all all this happening. I don't think so, Marty. I
don't know how it's gonna go down. But Michael is
looking good. Drew is just continuing to look pad and
(14:00):
creepy with Willow. And again, if I hear him going,
we're gonna get your kids back as he's snorting, Yeah, God,
he's so wired all the time on that, I think
he's on blow Man, right, Yeah, Carly, We're gonna get
your kid. I mean, calming down, Drew, calm down. Good line.
(14:24):
This week when Drew goes, you know I had to
go to the hospital, son, he goes, you went to
the hospital for a shiner. Oh god, there. I mean,
we got we got. We got a lot of everything, right,
just a lot of everything this week, A lot of
Rick and Elizabeth and Rick and Alexis, Rick and Ava.
(14:50):
How about Ava? What do you think about Ava and
Cody Man? Poor Molly. I knew it. I guess this
is I mean, I was gonna knock the writers for
that scene, you know, for her walking in on Ava
and Cody kissing. But it's like they had to go there,
(15:13):
you know what I mean, they had to go there.
You need the drama. And now I don't know. Now
she's gonna definitely think. Now, she's definitely Molly's gonna think
that Cody is a swindler and a scam artist and
the whole thing is all screwed up. Cody's gonna realize.
Here's how it's gonna go down. Cody's gonna realize he
(15:34):
made a mistake because he got caught. Ava's loving it,
of course, because she loves the attention, right, And now
what the frig is gonna happen? Right, Cody and Molly.
I love it. I love when Molly said to Michael,
oh my god, I got feelings for Cody. I mean,
just so good this Michael. His seats are so good,
(15:55):
so intense, and he takes command of everything, like really good. Right.
I was going to see another warm blanket back this week. Diane.
We love Diane, right, Diane look great. Good to see
her back after a little bit of a break just again.
(16:18):
Lucas and Lulu had really good weeks. You guys, they
were due. Lucas was becoming a whiny little bitch. Lulu
was just always rampant and nasty and scowling. They both
had good weeks. They were both due. I wonder, if
you're listening to the podcast, maybe they had finally listened.
(16:38):
They came to their senses. Tracy lifting up her, getting there,
getting her, getting her hands a little wet, dirty with
the horses. I love it. I love Tracy. Give me
Tracy and Cody scenes every freaking day, every day, right.
(17:00):
I mean, I thought Lizel had great scenes with Lulu,
which made Lulu scenes really good This week, I mean unbelievable.
Friday's episode was just so good. Now we'll see Vaughan
(17:24):
apparently has been caught. Joss apparently is caught by is
it Pascal Fritz Handler? I don't know, Ava and Cody.
There's gonna be some fallout there as well. I mean, like,
I'm really excited about a Da Turner and Sonny, Yeah,
(17:48):
I really am. I'm also, here's more good, here's more good.
I like the Stella stuff normally, guys, I don't know.
The Stella stuff's just kind of math like it was
really good this week. I love her and Marty. Marty,
Marty's got a soul he was tough this week with
Drew and I loved it. But I liked the Stella scenes.
(18:15):
She's a tremendous actress. I liked Lexus, Alexis and Rick.
They always have great chemistry. They don't like each other,
but they are really good. They're always kind of sniping,
and Rick's got a kind of lock down on those
funds because Ava goes crazy. Right. Yeah. A lot of
(18:42):
people commenting online this week, how the floral arrangements that
Lezel and Christina brought to Maxie, how gorgeous they were. Yeah,
gh does have strong floral game, no doubt about it.
I mean no, no, no doubt about it. Prior to
Maxie having her heart attack, I was like, well, she
(19:04):
looks great, you know. I was like, Maxie looks great. Ah,
I mean, how about Cody little hunk shirt off in
the in the stable and that's what I knew him
and Ava. I know it was too obvious. I was
(19:26):
wondering if the writers would have been able to just
kind of not made it so obvious. We're always got
his shirt of and she's in there and it's seductive.
But I knew it, and you knew Molly was heading
right over there after Michael said it doesn't hurt to
go asking for a couple of coffee, right, I mean,
I just knew it, and I was like, I'm glad
they weren't sleeping together when she walked in, but she
(19:46):
did catch him kissing. Okay, I thought Jason looked cool
man at the Five Poppies, right, you look good as week.
Someone says, does the Five Poppies not have a front desk?
(20:07):
It's so funny. It's true. It's like Pascal is walking
around with the cell phone. Couldn't help you, just they
have the old rumors iftocal enjoy somethings at the BA right,
Oh my god. Yeah, Drew is just making enemies out
of everybody. Oh. I saw somebody said if I had
(20:30):
a dime for every time Drew said he was a congressman,
I'd be rich. It's so true. I Sidwell had another
great week. I mean, he's kind of a he's a
tough one. He's becoming a villain. But the scenes when
he was talking with Drew were great. I loved this
(20:51):
week too. More good. There's no bad this week, guys.
I'm sorry to disappoint you. The only bad was really
Drew just making an ass out of himself. But I'm
just I'm on such a high. I love the Molly
romance story being played out in her imagination. That was
so good with Cody. I think I think Clint Buchanan
(21:14):
and Delilah were one life to live character names. I believe.
I don't I think so. But it was great. I mean,
just so good. I mean, this whole week was great.
(21:35):
We got Geo this week, Brooklynn and Lulu again. Good scenes, right, Yeah,
I thought those were really good scenes with them. Lulu
really had her I'll say this. I think Lulu had
(21:55):
her best week. Yeah, since waking up from the coma.
We want more good weeks. We want Maxi to recover
eighty eight Turner in Sundy. Let's go, are ricking Elizabeth
heading for a reunion? What? I wonder when they'll do
(22:20):
the memorium episode for Tristan Rodgers Probably coming soon? Mm
hm h good stuff. I don't want to see Stella
go to jail. Porscha and Curtis look like they're good.
Bow wow. Right Jason and britt reunion. I think it's coming.
(22:43):
More Lizel Please no Kai this week. Gosh, praise baby
Jesus More, Joss More, Von More, five Poppies, right, I mean,
just uhbelievable. I think about it, and we've had I mean,
(23:03):
has anybody thought about the death that we've had around
the soaps this last couple of years under Hospital. It's scary.
It started with like Brando getting shot. We lost Leslie Charlson,
we lost Monica, we lost Bobby, we lost Epiphany. Okay,
we lost Brando. We just lost Scorpio. I mean they
(23:27):
had a great life though, but I mean just it's
Leslie Weber pass recently as well. Just a lot heavy
the last two or three years, we've seen some loved
ones go on General Hospital. But I wonder. I'm sure
that Mamream Fratrician Rogers will come soon enough. What's gonna
(23:49):
happen with Anna? I don't know. I feel like her
character's in limbo right now right but she was there
for Maxie and I love that. We need to get Ata,
we need Valentine back. It's time. If you can bring
back one character right now, right now, Valentine, Spencer, Morgan, Carinthos,
(24:11):
who you bring it back? I think right now I
bring back Valentine. Not all three would be great, though,
