Speaker 1 (00:00):
A variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey
back with second date update midweek. Let's get a win hack.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Maybe you're hitting the dating scene for the first time
in a long time and you feel a little rusty.
You went on that first date, you felt like it
was good, but.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Now you're not, and then you got ghosted. Yeah happens. Sometimes.
Let's bring on Alex. How we doing, Alex? Uh, living
the dream?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Aside from why I'm calling you? But other than that, Yeah,
life is good.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
They say. If a guy says I'm living the dream,
it's a cry for help. Are you doing? Okay? Blink twice?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Consider I'm consider me unblinking? Okay, why do I because
his life is that good?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Good?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Aside from why I'm calling you?

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Sure, getting ghosted and never fun. Let's talk about Marissa.
How did you guys meet? And like, what did you
guys do on your date?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
So we met on the apps. I invited her to
a rooftop dinner, which honestly was nothing short of magical.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Sure, incredible view.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Okay, did the whole thing? Ordered to bottle champagne. The
conversation flowed all night. We had what I thought was
an incredible rapport, and look, I thought a second date
was in the bag. But here I am living in
got City and yeah, uh, she hasn't called me back,
and I want to know why.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
So do we? Okay, Corey, any theories.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Go city population of one.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So what I'm thinking is Marissa maybe had some like
family turmoil and she needed to get away. So she
travels to a secluded beach for some much needed solace.
And despite the danger of surfing alone, Marissa decided to
soak up the sun and hit the wave. Suddenly, a
great white shark attacks. This forces her to swim to
a giant rock for safety. Now she's kind of injured

(01:49):
and she stranded two hundred yards from shore, and she's
going to fight for her life because this thing is
just circling her rock and its feeding ground.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
That's where she had no sell service.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
What is that The Shallows?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
That's Shallows.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yes, that's a movie. I thought that was a song
with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
That's Shallow.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Same thing.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
This is The Shallows with Blake Life.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I can't deal with you movie types, man.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Well, that's your fault.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I don't think that's what happened.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Well, she doesn't have her sell phone obviously, Alex.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Why don't we call her?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I would appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Okay, Yeah, we're gonna try to figure this out. Hang
on the line, let's regroup. We'll do it after this
Second Date update. Star one O one three, more variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. It is
second Date Update, and we've got Alex on the phone.
We've been chatting in with him online offline about his
date with Marissa. I do love a good rooftop in

(02:43):
the city. Not gonna lie. My guy had some thought too.
He booked a table with a view. There was a
bottle of champagne.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
That's nice.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
That's a romantic I wrote it down, Alex, are you
still there? You called it magical, accurate, nothing short of Okay, yeah,
I think that was nothing short of magical.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
That's that's pretty bold statement.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
And now she's ghosted, so let's try to figure some
things out. I'd love to get you a second date,
but let's call her and see what she thought of
the date. Okay, go ahead and mut your phone so
you can listen in.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Hello, how do you speak with MARSA please?

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yeah, this is her.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
I'm Marissa. This is Marcus and Corey from Star one
on one three.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Hello.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Oh my god, no way.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Was that? Oh my god? No way, this is second
Date update kind of no way or just like way?

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Oh yeah? Oh my god. I love you guys.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
I love you.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
I actually I love Second Date updates.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Now you're living.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Crap?

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Okay, do you mind being on it with us?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
No?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Oh no, no whatever. If it's who I think it is.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Do you think it is?

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Now, it's fine. What do you think it is? I?
I think it is a guy named Alex.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yes, yes, Alex. Let's just get this thing started.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Oh my god, he would okay, yeah, oh Alex?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Anytime? Is he there?

Speaker 3 (04:25):
There?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
You go?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
A A Hello?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
So I'll ask the question. Did you ghost?

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah? Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Okay? What what happened? Did you like the date at all?
Or did it just I'm sorry god?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
No, okay, no, I mean look, it started off pretty okay,
you know it's kind of cheesy. It was this rooftop
bar and he ordered champagne and whatever. He seems nice
and normal. But then I don't know what happened, but
not saying where people start, they like snapped their fingers
at the wait staff, like to get their attention.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Okay, he did that, so it's Alex did that.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
So this is so he started doing it as soon
as we started ordering the champagne, and then he started
calling the waiter my boy, like twenty times. It was crazy.
So it was just like super he was like trying
to brow out with the guy. But it was super
condescending and really uncomfortable and like, yeah, just the snapping, Alex.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Go ahead, that's mersa.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
That is just me being friendly. It's banter between me
and the guys. Okay, like you know, like we're a team.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
You're a team. Yeah, you're a team with the waiter.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
You know those guys the first time you met him, No,
it's the first time I met him.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
But it's like, have you even ever been to that
restaurant before?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Maybe a couple a couple of times?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
The snapping at him and snap, actually you snapped at
anyone you were trying to get their attention to. You
snapped at the valet as well, Like I like it. No,
it was gross. It was really embarrassing, seems really condescending.
And then wait did he tell you? Did he tell
you about the photographs?

Speaker 1 (06:30):
No?

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Oh yes, no he yes. So at the end of
the night, mind you, he gets like pretty sloshed, which whatever.
At that point, I'm like, that's fine. At the end
of the night, he insists that my boy the waiter
take a fake engagement photo of us.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yes, yes, for what.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
To post, just to like as a joke, to post
on his Instagram or whatever, like, oh, you know, finally
about the one. It wasn't even funny, like it was
super uncomfortable, but yeah, he like insisted.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Okay, this doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
It was you were what.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
No, that's a compliment. No, I was being optimistic. I
mean it was you guys. He was so he was
so drunk and obnoxious that at one point he leaned
over to the table next to us and was talking
about how I was wife's material. This is before the
engagement photos. I probably shouldn't have done the photo, but like, yeah,
it was red flags abound.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah were you?

Speaker 4 (07:43):
He also called me Marisa several times, so couldn't even
remember how to pronounce my name. So, oh, man, I
don't think for all the money in the world,
