Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three back at it with
second Date update.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
We try to help you in your dating life. I
mean it sounds exhausting with all the dating apps and
you know, texting, So we try to figure out why
your first date went off without a hitch and get
your second date.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
That's right. So Ben's on the phone. Ben, Hey, are
you there.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, I'm here.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Hello.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I'm hoping you can help me.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We're hoping we can help you. Yeah, I mean I
have dated in a hot minute. But to Corey's point,
it sounds exhausting. Yeah, let's talk about page. Tell us
how you guys met, and then just let's run through
the first date like we always do.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
I met her on Hinge and she had this incredibly
like cool profile. It was like a mixture between funny,
smart and like I forgot what it exactly was like
a joke about trivia, So I was like, all right,
she likes trivia. Some bars with trivia. Basically you flirted
(01:03):
a bit and then we moved to Texas and I
asked her to go to dinner and basically we had
a fun date. I mean, I even I don't want
to say it. This did not come up during the day,
but I just like even pictured myself going obviously on
future days with her, Like I kind of saw the future.
(01:24):
And apparently she she didn't feel the same way, because
I totally got ghosted.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
And I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
So she's ghosted completely. Yeah, okay, very strange, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Never had this happen to me ever, I've never been ghosted, Corey.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Your thoughts good at trivia?
Speaker 2 (01:46):
I imagine she was at her local watering hole playing trivia.
Some people were getting annoyed at how good she was
cut too. She want some fremonzarellistics in a picture of Margarita's.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
How does that prevent her from calling him? Oh she's drunk,
she passed out, Oh drunk, passed out and full of
Marcerella sticks. Yeah, plausible, plausible. I give you a break
today from all from all the date line scenario, date
line scenarios. I mean, I was gonna put her in
a suitcase, but it's the case of the giant Mazzarella sticks. Yes,
(02:20):
all right, and then Margarita's I'll tell you what, Ben,
We're gonna We're gonna find out if if she had
too many Margarita's. We're gonna call her and we're gonna
we're going to ask her how the date went. From
her perspective, Ultimately, would love to get you a second date,
but I'd like to figure out why she ghosted. Uh,
if you're cool with it, we'll play a song and
we'll call her. Okay, Yeah, that's awesome. We'll do it.
(02:40):
Next it's Second Date Updates, Star one O one three,
more variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one O one three. It's Marcus and Corey
doing Second Date Update. As always, we've got Ben on
the phone with us. Ben say hi, Hey, what's Ben? Now?
Officially part of the show for this morning. We're gonna
call his date Page in your estimation menu. You're feeling
like she ghosted after your first date? Is that accurate?
(03:03):
Like she she's gone disappeared.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, totally right, No, like she lost her phone or anything.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
All right, let's call her and you know, put an
end to it. Let's let's figure it out. Let's get
some answers. Ben, go ahead and mute, and here we go. Hell,
I may speak with Page.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Please. This is she who am I speaking kids high Page.
It's Marcus and Corey from Star one one three.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Hey, Hi, hllry. I don't know. Do you listen to
our show?
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I have.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Okay, we're doing second Date Update right now. I don't
know if you know what that is and if you'd
like to participate.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I actually I don't know what that is.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's a dating segment we do where we talk to
someone who went on a first date and may or
may not be ghosting after that date.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Eight correct, So wondering if you might have a second
to talk about a date you've been on recently. God
by the name of Ben. Do you remember Ben? He
really liked you, but he feels like you're ghosting him,
and so we're just trying to figure it out. What
can you tell us?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Gotcha?
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yeah? So yeah, we met on Hinge and we went
to dinner and everything, and it was actually I thought
it was going to be really good. We had a
really good time and you know, we're reviving. I was
actually excited about it, but he just he just said
something weird at the end, like towards the end of
(04:39):
the day. That's just kind of like got me rethinking.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Was it a deal breaker, yeah, and please share.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
I guess it has to be because like during the day, like,
so we started talking like you do if it's going well,
it's like how are we going to see each other again? When?
And so you know that's all positive and everything saying,
and so I thought it was going really well and
leading into that second date, and then he goes, just
a warning, though, my sister isn't gonna like you, and
(05:11):
like yeah, and he goes on to say, like it's
nothing to do with me, but like they're super close,
and he goes, oh, she's just she's just territorial. She's
jealous of the women I date. But you know, it's
not personal, nothing to do with you.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
And but why would that why would he bring that up?
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Yeah, that's that's kind of what I was thinking, Like
that's a weird thing to say.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
She doesn't like anybody.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
I guess not like that's the way he explained it,
Like it sounded like they're just really really close and
she gets jealous of all of his dates and girlfriends,
and like that's a weird thing for your sister to do.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
I just don't bring it up.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
And if she's going to be jealous and territorial, then
maybe you shouldn't meet her for a very long time.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, Like I don't know why, Like he's making my
problem that quickly.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, I mean this is date number one, right, Yeah,
well here's the Yeah, here's the deal. Pages that Ben
is actually on the phone listening. I would love Ben.
I'd love to talk about this.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Oh hey, Page, Page.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
What's going on? I gotta tell you. I'm sorry, but
that's just common with sisters. I didn't think it was
such a big deal. Like, I didn't think that's going
to change how you feel about me.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, but you can't aid with my sister's not gonna
like you.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
This is just kind of bizarre that it's something you
felt the need to say on the first date.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
I don't know she. I just think she's very protective
of me and and if we were to hang out
with my family. I just wanted to give you a
fair warning.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
It's the first date.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
So this is not a joke. You weren't kidding. Your
sister's like hit first, ask questions later, or what It's not.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
It's not really funny though.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, she's just like we're very close and I just
wanted to. I don't know, I just was maybe drunk
and I just said it, like.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Don't backpedal now. Then, I think you need to have
a talk with your sister because it's really none of
her business who you date. I mean, if somebody said
to me on my first date, hey, you're really cool,
but my dog's gonna hate you, I'm like, what why.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
I'm just for one. Like, I'm shocked that you put
up with this. I think it's weird that you do.
I just don't think it's normal. I think it's super uncomfortable.
It's weird.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Honestly, we had like four hours of fun and then
I said one thing and that turns you off, like this,
well it's I don't even.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
The pretty thing, Like I don't want to feel uncomfortable.
I don't want to like automatically, you know, after date one,
have this like extra burden put on me, and it
sounds like something that you need to like resolve with
your sister.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Okay, I then I'll won't mention it again. And sure
we just won't. My sister.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Got the hat. Just not talk about it. I'm just
not going to talk about it anymore. Just no, no,
all right, what are we doing here? You guys? Nothing?
Am I even asking?
Speaker 3 (08:12):
No?
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Look, Ben, you got to figure this out, bro. Uh
So I'm gonna leave that on you. Uh Okay, Paige,
we're gonna leave this alone for now. I'm sure you're
good with that.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Yeah. It sounds like he doesn't want to change things.
He'd just rather pretend it didn't happen.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Right, Okay, hang on, that was strange. I sort of
get it, but still strange.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
That was very bizarre. I think there needs to be
some family therapy sessions.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
