Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
star one on one three, It's Marcus and Corey with
everybody's favorite second date update world famous.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
What do you think happened on this date that is
not getting you a second date? I mean, and we're
not saying it's anything you did.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
It could be the other person, it could be just
not compatible. But that's what we do. We try to
figure out how we can get you a second date.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Let's bring Derek on and get this started. Derek, how
are you you there?
Speaker 4 (00:24):
I'm good. How you guys doing?
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Good? Man? Obviously we want to hear all about Kayla.
I understand you met up I r L in real life.
Seems to be a trend.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Yeah, very rare these days, right. Kayla's great. We haven't
actually met through a mutual friend. It was like a
game night, hanging out, coming over friends apartment and I
met her there and she was awesome. We bonded over
you know, our shared hatred of the game. They picked
a monopoly, which is the objectively worst game.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
I gotta remember, and we yeah, not for me, but
we were they playing when you guys met, like they
pulled it out and you both but oh god, yeah,
that's what he said.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I was trying to convince people
to do you know, any other game.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
The game.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
We could do that game, but then that's they filled
the Monopoly.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Whatever, mouse Trap, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Candyland whatever. Yeah. But the bright side was I really
enjoyed getting the new Kala over the couple of hours
I was there, and you know, I ended up actually
getting their number, and you know, we texted a little
bit back and forth.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
We actually agreed to go on a date. I just
shot my shot, as hey, I wanted to get anymore.
So we did downtown Te Francisco. We went to grab sushi,
and I thought it was great. I thought it was
really adorable. Actually, I thought it was a cute first.
D aid, nothing too crazy. Felt like we were chatting
back and forth and we were waiting for the check,
and we we were trying to do a contest and
(01:51):
who could, you know, hold their napkin into an origami,
you know, swan And it was cute little things like that,
you know, nothing, no pressure on it. But now she's
not responding, and I'm a little knocked down because I
really thought that it was a nice connection. I thought
that there was not too much pressure, but also felt
like there was some real investment there.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Okay, Corey, what do you think?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Well?
Speaker 2 (02:13):
I think Kayla goes on a cattle drive with two
of her friends for a vacation, and you know, a
lot of mishaps occur, leaving them stranded to bring in
the herd by themselves. At one point, all three have
to save a calf from drowning in a river. So
she's still on her way back from Colorado.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Who city slickers, Good for you? I did it. Poor
Derek is like, uh wait, what it's a good movie, Derek,
never mind. Why don't we just call Kayla and find out?
I mean, this could happen, but I doubt it. He's
still down for a phone call.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Oh yeah, I mean sure's if she's done daving the cat,
I will gladly get it.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Only if all right, we'll do it. Next Second Date
Update Star one on one three more variety from the
two thousands than nineties and to day it's Star one
on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing Second
Date Update and we have been chatting with our guy Derek,
who met with Kayla in real life. This seems to
be a trend. I RL. This is a mutual. It's
great friends game night, and they happened to pull out Monopoly,
which was a game both Derek and Kayla can't stand,
(03:16):
so they bonded right away. Derek, am I getting my
facts correct so far? Okay? He stepped up, asked her out,
got the digits, the whole thing that they met downtown
for some sushi. It was cute. Yeah, and she's ghosted,
so let's try to figure this out. Go ahead and
mut your phone, dude, so she can't hear you, but
I'll have you listen in and we're gonna call Kayla
(03:37):
and see if we can get you a second date. Okay,
all right, thank you. Here we go.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Hello, Hi, may speak with Kayla please.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Kayla.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Hi, Kayla, It's Marcus and Corey from Star one to
Win three.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Hi, what's up?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Do you? Do?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
You listen to our show? By chance?
Speaker 5 (04:07):
I do not listen to your show?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Now?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Well it's delightful. I highly recommend it. Yes, we do
something on our radio morning show for iHeart. It's called
second date up date, and we were wondering if you
wouldn't mind talking about a recent date you went on.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Okay, like on the air, is that okay?
Speaker 5 (04:29):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I mean I'm already on the phenomenal.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
We appreciate it, We have consent, yes, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So, uh, we want to ask you about a date
with a guy named Derek. He called us. He's bummed.
He really liked connecting with you and would like to
go on a second date. And we can kind of
be honest with you. He's a little cocky. He kind
of thought it was a shoe in, So we're kind
of like, what what happened? Yeah, did you ghost?
Speaker 5 (04:59):
H maybe?
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Derek was super.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Nice and really sweet and I really like getting to
know him.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Uh huh.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
The thing in this sounds so weird, but he he
brought like a roll of like bubble wrap and he
lit just like popped it. You just kept popping this
bubble wrap.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
A roll a bubble wrap, bubble rap.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
Like how you wrap up like a package or something
that likens.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
You'd wrap before you moved.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
On the date.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Yes, and I'm talking about like, oh my upbringing and stuff.
He's just popping this bubble wrap and I thought I
was like getting praying And I did bring it up
because it's weird, Okay. So anyway, I asked him and
he was like, it just helps him stay calm and
like social situations. So I was like, I'm kind of
(05:56):
like it's like dining with like a toddler in like.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
A shipping warehouse.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
That's like, that's like a spinner, except it's going to
be really loud. Do you know what that reminds me
is when someone pops over and over?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yeah, m hm, okay, so.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
People are looking and yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I think we've got enough info. What I want to
do here is I apologize in advanced Kayla. So Derek
is listening, Yes, Derek, are you there? Thank you? So
bubble wrap you see it a little out of pocket, right,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
I mean, look, I I just I don't really feel
weird about it. I think it's just like everyone has
their quirks, and uh, for me, I want something to
do with my hands and it's instead of them biting my nails,
which is a really bad habit for me.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Sure, I guess I needed.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
You know, Derek, I needed a little less pop like
it just was an I just needed you to just
like have a conversation with me.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
The paper from the chopsticks is a good sub on
that still loud though it's not. Does that mean a
popping bubble wrap?
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I'm not saying a doubt for it, because I'm just
as bad. I chew my cuticles and I try to
keep my hands busy.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
You're gonna tell everybody about your fidget spinner ring or
should I?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Uh No, it's fine.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I have a fidget spinner ring and I do fidget
with it because I don't want to chew my cuticles.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And I don't think it bothers you because you can't
hear it, right.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, Derek, I understand nervous energy, but that's really invasive.
I mean, Kaylen, am I offa here?
Speaker 5 (07:26):
I assume not like knitting would have been better, you know,
like like if you just pulled up in the yarn,
I think I would have fixed up at that, for
it's been a roll of bubble wrap in the middle
of a round your mouth.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
So Kaylen, no, no second date.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
I don't think so. Unless we can work through the
bubble wrap at all. It just it just seems a
little like we're not gonna We're not gonna match
