Say hi to Mandy. Hi, Mandy, Hi, Hey girl. We
want to talk obviously about Paul, who you emailed us about.
So I'm understanding, I'm a skipped to the end and
just tell everybody now that he ghosted. But how did
you guys meet? First of all? And then let's talk
about the first date. Maybe we can get some clues here.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
So we met on Hinge and I'll be honest, like
I thought he was really cute, Like he told me
he works in engineering, so obviously like an intelligent guy.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Right.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
You know.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
We found out we both love nature and being outdoors.
So we were already talking about like checking out some
spots to go hiking. Like it just seemed like we
had a lot in common and there was potential that so,
like I was already pretty excited about it.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
Okay, I like this, Yeah, so we ended up.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Talking for like a few weeks and we made plans
for dinner at this really cute Mexican place in the mission,
and like, the food was fantastic. I can't really say
the same about this service.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
But yeah, that happened to me in Vegis over the weekend.
Food phenomenal spot. Phenomenal service. I hate the crap on it,
but it was.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, the waiter seemed kind of incompetent. I don't know,
it just it wasn't up to expectations.
Speaker 7 (01:35):
I'll just say that, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
But no, anyway, I thought there was a connection there.
So I'm like, not really sure what happened because I've
texted him since then and just nothing like ghosted, no response.
So here I was thinking there's something there, but I sure,
I don't know if I should just like, I don't
know if I should let it go at this point
or what.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
I just I don't know what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Well, not till we make the phone call. Here's what
I think, Yes, Corey, what do you think Maybe.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Paul contracted a tapeworm from dinner, So he just kept
eating and eating and it kept growing and growing.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Cut to it outgrew him, the tapeworm out grew him.
Huh so his tapeworm ate him.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Uh huh eight through him.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Listen to you. Uhh, that's exactly what happened. Sure, why not?
What do you think?
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Maybe?
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (02:27):
I hope that's honestly what happened.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Over getting ghosted, Like I don't.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
He's gonna wish a tapeworm ate him as soon as
Mandy gets a hold of exactly, well, let's call him. Okay,
let's just call him and then and we'll go from there.
Hang on the line. We're gonna play a song and
then we'll hit Paul up. All right, it's Second Date Update,

the nineties, and today it's Star one on one three.
It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing Second Date Update. We've
(02:55):
been chatting with Mandy about her date with Paul. We
like Paul. He's an engineer, super smart, good looking guy.
But we don't like the fact that he ghosted. Is
that fair, Mandy?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
That's very fair?
Speaker 1 (03:07):
All right, So Mexican food, the food was good, service,
not so much. Let's call him and see what his
vibe on the date was go ahead and mew your
phone because we're going to keep you on the line
so you can hear it straight from him. But here

Speaker 6 (03:45):
I liked the show.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I thought he was gonna say I like second Date Update.
That's what I thought he was going to.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
Second day Update. I was hoping that maybe it wasn't that,
but I do like Second Date Update.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Well it is that. Check your watch, Paul, welcome? Uh
we bring your date on now?
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Or do you want to prepen?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Okay, Mandy, Hi Paul. Hey, So Paul, you knew I
would call in. There's a rumor that you've ghosted. So
can we talk about this date? Since we're all adults
and we're here, how did it go for you?
Speaker 5 (04:21):
This?
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Uh, I'm just taking a second hand because I wasn't
ready for this phone call.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Sure, nobody is never Well here we are?
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Okay? Okay?
Speaker 6 (04:30):
Yeah, it's okay, okay, okay, Hi, how's it going, Mandy?
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Hi, It's okay.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
You know, I haven't heard for you in a little bit,
so I don't really know what happened.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
Well, what do you want me to say?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Uh, we just want to know why you ghosted, because
she was really going well.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
I mean it's interesting because we were having a good time. Yeah,
I heard obviously, you know, the food was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
I guess the service was not good.
Speaker 6 (04:57):
Enough for her, and she just kept talking about that. Uh,
and it just it's fine to talk about it a
little bit, but it just got to a boiling point
where she just kept talking about it, and I just
found her to be to be rude and it was
really a turn off.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
So that's like a big red flag for me.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
If someone doesn't take care of service people.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Can you can you cite something specific that happened?
Speaker 6 (05:21):
Yeah, well, again, she's things were going well. I think
she has a good heart. But first it was what
there was salt on the rim of her margarita she
had I guess she had asked for no salt and
she sent it back, which I thought was was okay.
I was that's fine, that happens, But then the.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Server was like, the chips weren't crispy enough, and she
had asked for crispy chips, and I'm like.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Come on, hold on, the chips weren't the chips weren't
crispy enough? Is that what you said?
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (05:49):
I was like, you know, it's it's free chips. They
come with the salsa. They were good enough. It was
too much for me. And then the last straw was
when the dessert she ordered.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
Flaw and the last on I was like, server brought
her flying instead of fried ice.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Cream, And so she lost her mind and even called
the waiter stupid. Oh god, it was so embarrassed. The
server looked horror horrified.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Sure, Mandy, did you do that?
Speaker 3 (06:17):
I mean I did.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
I just I don't see an issue with expecting a
certain level of service when you go out, you know,
like if you go into it picturing five star experience,
then it's a letdown.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
And that's not the case. Like we're paying we should.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Get the absolute best. Like at the end of the day,
the servers worked for us, don't they, Like I want
to be spoiled. I don't see what's wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, but it just sounds disrespectful.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Of me.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I mean, it could have been busy and maybe the server
just grabbed the wrong dessert.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
I mean, and you know that's the kind of that's
the kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
So Paul, what did you end up doing?
Speaker 5 (06:57):
Then?
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Well, I didn't. I just gave a big tip to
the waiter when Mandy went to the bathroom.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
I told him I was really sorry, and I know
he was doing the best that he could and it
was a busy night. I just you know then, and
that was it. I just made sure that you know
that they knew that I don't operate that way, so
if they ever see me again, that I'm not associated
with her. Okay, it was embarrassing, you know, and you know,
(07:26):
you just yeah, that's the thing for me. You can't
even if it's bad service.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
These waiters aren't paid a lot.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
Of money either're busy.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
I used to work in service, like it's just a
thing for me, And you know, I mean what.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
I don't know, sorry for having standards like I don't know.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
I get it. I get that you're disappointed, but I
just I don't think we need to see each other anymore.
