Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's star one oh one three. This is second date update.
You know it.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
You know it's a probably more sensitive second date updates
this time of year.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Why is that, Well, it's.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
The holidays and you might want to make a connection
before New Year's show that New Years kiss with somebody's
we're trying to get you a second date.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Let's think about all the people that are in cuffing
situations or the sledters. That new term sledding.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Isn't where you're gonna dump them after the Londay.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Yeah, Meghan, are you there?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, I'm here, Megan.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
You're in the dating world. We learned about this term
called sledding, where the person drags you along through a
dead end relationship only to dump you in January.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah, beg, it's got no comms. He's trying to get
a second date. I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
I should really starts this off at a positive note.
That's on me, boyfriend, right, thank you. Okay, let's get
into your situation. Let's talk about Alex. I understand that
he has ghosted, but let's run through how you guys
met and then talk about the first date.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Okay, Alex, we had luncheon in Palo Alto. It was fantastic.
It was really the conversation was never dead, like, we
just talked NonStop. He even collects vintage postcards like I do.
And the date was fantastic. Okay, and so I'm seck goodbye,
(01:20):
And then I texted him and he never responded at all.
He just like ghosted me.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
You said that you guys both collect vintage postcards.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
That is a little crazy, yeah, and that.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
We both do it. He collects them from Europe. I
collect them from National Park.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I love stuff like that. My husband likes to collect
stickers when we travel and then put them on your toully.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
What's a too?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Is it tully or a thole? The thing that goes
on top of your car? Oh for extra story?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I call it a thool till someone called me stupid.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, I like this. Now we have to make it work.
If you guys are both doing postcards, I mean, how
often does that happen?
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Never?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
All right, let's call him and then we'll see what
the deal is. I'd love it's he completely ghosted.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yep, completely, no response at all.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Corey, your thoughts. Here's what I'm thinking. Alex is going
through said postcard collection and doesn't realize one of the
cards is compromised. Well, he's suffering from severe acute respiratory syndrome,
also known as stars what stars on the postcard? No?
(02:29):
Could happen?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
All right?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Sorry, Megan. Megan's like, did I call the right show today?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
I don't?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
All right, let's get back to you, hang out for
a song, and then we'll call Alex next. Okay, Second
Date updates Star one on one three, well variety from
the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one
on one three. It's Marcus and Corey doing Second Date Update.
We've got Meghan on the phone and she and Alex
met online. They went to Lunchion Palo Alto. The cool
thing is, Megan, is we found out you both collect postcards?
(03:04):
Is that right?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yeah? Okay?
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Interesting? So you do national parks and he does international.
But this is so strange.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
I think it's cute.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
How does this even come up in the chat? Anyway,
Let's call him because I understand he's ghosted, but let's
try to figure this out.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Go ahead and mute.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
You'll be able to hear everything, but we don't want
him to hear you. So here we go.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Hello, I may I speak with Alex? Please speak hi, Alex.
It's Marcus and Corey from Star one on one three.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Alex, what's up? Hey?
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Hey, don't think guys all the time?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
You know time? Are you a familiar with second date update?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I uh oh jeez, yeah, it's just about Is this
about Meghan?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It is Wow.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I can't believe this is as We'll just.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Bring her on first, Alex. Are you cool talking with
us about it?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yeah, yeah, like I get it.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Alex? Did you ghost on Megan? I did? Can you
tell us why?
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Yeah? I really did have an awesome time on the date, honestly,
like it was great until right after the date, essentially,
we stepped outside and there was this you know, like
street performers, and there's this gentleman who was playing on
the accordion which had a little weird little niche and
(04:30):
stopped and kind of listened for a second out of
respect to the artist and kind of cool. But she
really really kind of pushed to to start dancing to
this this guy's accordion music, and I was I was
kind of you know, I'm a friendly guy, but there's
certain things out of my comfort element. I wasn't really
feeling it. It just wasn't the right, you know, it's
not like other people were dancing. This guy was just
(04:51):
trying to just play his music, perform. We're going to
move on, but then she starts essentially grabbing me, twisting
me around, like making this this whole thing where we
became the spectacle instead of the guy, you know, playing
the accordion. He eventually even laughed after a couple of minutes,
probably to go down and find a little more of
an open space. And here I was just like, I
(05:13):
don't know, just dancing when I didn't feel like it
was the right, like read the room, you know what
I mean. It was just uncomfortable. I didn't feel like
my comfort was kind of well perceived, and it was.
It was just kind of it was bizarre. It was
just bizarre. And I'm all about being charismatic, but like,
I don't need to dance in the middle of the
street when no one else is dancing, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Megan back to you.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah, I'm kind of at a loss.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
So that was fine that I thought like that I
was spontaneous that like, I just wanted to have fun
and dance, and the guy loved it. It created energy
and people were watching and having fun. But I can't
believe you were ghosted.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Me ohh, that that goes to I think a wider
kind of I don't know. I want to I want
to say social in sense, but like, yeah, he was polite.
He gave us like a little smile. But there's a
fine line between spot and eighty and kind of I'm
all about being charismatic, but I don't want to be
forced in a situation that I'm not comfortable with, you know,
and it's a it's about boundaries and.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I don't know like a boundaries. Oh god, you're one
of those people. You are way too uptight, way too uptight.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Not everybody wants to dance, like no one's watching, because
they were people watching.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I mean, maybe Ei, there.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Is people watching, but they were enjoying it. We were
creating energy and creating like a fun and vibe.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Megan, I'm getting the feeling that maybe you guys aren't compatible.
Are you even still interested in the first date?
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Here?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Second or second date?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
No?
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Okay, he's way too uptight.
