Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three, It's Marcus and Corey.
It's time once again for second Date Update, and we're off.
Love is a beautiful thing, it is.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
And we tried to make you get that special love
in your life.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
And if you've gone on a first date and want
to know why the second date hasn't happened, that's what
we do on second date Update.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Why are you speaking so breathy? I don't know, Megan,
are you there?

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
This is a heck of intro.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Huh, I love it.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Keep that up.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Welcome. Understand you need some help with your love life.
We are here for you. Want to know all about
this guy Ross, How did you guys meet? And then like,
what did you guys do for your first date?

Speaker 4 (00:42):
So we met on Tinder and we had dinner in
Berkeley at a romen joint. Okay, and yeah, like his
profile was like super quirky and funny, and I just
swiped right and we had a great chat about food.
And he's really into food. He loves to cook and

(01:04):
I do the same and I want to be a
food influencer.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Like what made him ghost me? Since the date?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Did he have one of those?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
How how would you? I'm always curious about this because
I obviously don't date. I've been married for a long time.
But like, I see a lot of witty profiles like captions.
Did he get weird in his captions?

Speaker 5 (01:25):
I liked it?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Yeah, he was saying like he makes so much guak
that Avocados need to update the toy in the middle.
He has too many wooden balls, And yeah, I just
haven't heard that before.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Oh my gosh, Cory's rolling her right so hard.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Right now, I have a headache. Now that is the
corniest thing I've ever heard.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
But you swiped anyway.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I like corny. I like the confidence in the corny.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, okay, it does take some wooden balls to post that.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Anyway, Back to the date, So you guys went for Ramen.
Conversation was good? Would you guys talk about.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
We literally talked about all the places we've eaten and
where we want to eat and where we want to
travel to eat. So he's an adventurous eater, just like me.
So we talked about like and Ordaine and his show,
his book, and we bonded over that YouTubers who are
into food, like food influencers, so everything about food and

(02:24):
like also articles and like food critics.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
So yeah, so what has happened since the date?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (02:30):
He ghosted me for real?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
I mean, I guess I'm not shocked.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, but it kind of sounds like they have a
lot in common, so surprising.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Okay, here's here's what I'm thinking. Okay, tell me after
the date.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
You know, he's walking back to his car, which happens
to be a Tesla cybertruck, right, Okay, Now he doesn't
realize that he reeks of ramen, you know, just reeks. Yeah,
and just he's getting into his truck. A gang of
raccoons mistake his ride for a dumpster filled with ramen.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
But I see you rabies.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
They do have sharp nails and opposable thumbs, so like
damage can be done, and.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
They do think that the cyber trucks will ac dumpsters.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Way to be topical.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I like to keep it fresh.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Nice work. Well, you know what, let's call him and
find out. Megan, what do you say?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Yeah, why not?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
We'll have you on the line. See, we can all
hear it together. We'll do it next. It's second date.
Update Star one oh one three or variety from the
two thousands, the nineties, and today Star one on one three.
It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing Second Date Update right now.
We've been talking to Megan about her date with Ross.
They went for Ramen in Berkeley and they're all about
food and sounds like Megan, we figured we were gonna

(03:42):
get a second date, right, Yeah, all right, let's give
him a shout and figure it out. I did enjoy
your theory today, Corey, that maybe he went back to
his cyber trucks smelling too much like ramen, like smelling
a little too unctious, and got attacked by a rolling
band of raccoons in Berkeley.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Randomly mistaking him for a dump full ramen.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Because the cyber truck looks like a domster. Well played.
Thanks all right, Megan, go ahead and meet your phone.
Let's give Ross a call.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Here we go, Hello, Hi, Ma, speak with Ross.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Please?

Speaker 6 (04:19):
This is Ross. Who is this Hi?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Ross? It's Marcus and Corey from Star one on one three.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
So we are radio DJs. We do a morning show
in San Francisco. We're doing a segment that we call
Second Date Update. Would love to talk about a date
you've been on recently, if you have a couple of
minutes to be on the air.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Is that okay?

Speaker 6 (04:40):
Yeah, this is a bit weird, but you said you
want to talk to me about that date I had.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yes, would love to talk about your date with a
girl named Megan. She had a blast, She dug you.
She'd like to go out again. She's feeling like you're ghosting.
Did something go wrong? What can you tell us? How
did you enjoy the.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
I'll be honest, Meigan bridging out to the radio made
perfect sense for her. Yeah, I'm happy to put on
a blastles ever the attention she wants for this. Okay, Look,
she seemed cool at first, and you know, we had
a shared love of food and honestly shallowly like physically
she totally my type, so made me swipe right. Okay,

(05:22):
but that's kind of where the coolness ended, because once
I met up with her in person at this wrong place,
it got super annoying, super quick. So Megan had to
take pictures of everything, and look, I know that's a
thing that my generation does, but it's not just pictures.

(05:44):
It was video. She wanted video of every step of
this restaurant visits right like, literally, we're walking up to
the place. She hands me her phone and says, take
the video of me walking into the place.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Is she like an influencer in the sense that like
she's got a blog or she.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Says she is, like she says she wants to, you know,
be an influencer, but if you look her up, she's
like four hundred followers. It's genuinely sad. Oh look, I
don't mind taking pictures because I do that, but be
quick about it. Did a little snap and then put
it away. But she's interrupted me mid conversation to say

(06:28):
video of her slop and the thing I realized a
little bit of it, and honestly it was just cringe
and I don't want to be a part of that
going forward.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Okay, So let's be transparent.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
So Megan is on the phone right now, she's listening.
If you don't mind, I like to bring her on
to discuss Megan, are you there, y? So we've got
some insight here. I wanted to get your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
I mean, I feel hurt, like that was genuinely kind
of mean to say that I'm and to say that
I'm embarrassing, Like I obviously want to be a food influencer.
That's why I'm doing all these things. And yeah, I
have four hundred followers and that's why I'm making the
most of my efforts. Like I don't have a crew
walking around me. I'm literally my own like one man show.

(07:18):
So it does hurt to like eat the true colors
on how you know he's feeling, and yeah, I do
feel pretty hurt.

Speaker 6 (07:26):
Yeah, well imagine how I felt what I was trying
to get to know you as a person and you
didn't care about a thing I was saying. You were
too busy trying to influence your full hundred followers by
videoing every step of eating soup.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
I couldn't you, like e split the difference, Like maybe
do a couple of videos there, Megan, and then put
the phone away so you can focus on Ross.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Yeah, I thought I did, And I'm really sorry that,
you know, it didn't come out that way during the dates,
so like that's on me. But other than that, like
I thought you were into it because like we were
both talking about food, and I thought you didn't mind that.
So I just didn't really get to get the cue.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
I guess yeah, Well, just the fact you thought I
didn't mind it means you weren't in the moment. You
weren't paying attention to me at all, because I was
visibly annoyed and you were just too busy just for
looking at your phones.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
So since we've got some clarity now, obviously, Megan, maybe
maybe being more present would be helpful. Ross any shot
at a second date? I mean, Megan, do you even anymore?

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (08:31):
No, right, I don't even know why I'm asking.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Sometimes, frankly, I think you are a glasses have full
type of guy.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
I try to be all right, Hang on, please, Second
Date update seven oh five weekday Mornings. Replace it nine
oh five. It got its own podcast too. Don't forget.
It's on the iHeartRadio app. Go download and smash that
subscribe button. Look for Marcus and Corey.
