Back here for the football frenzy at Ralphie Sports Eatery,
brought to you by McDaniel Automotive I Americ Moseley alongside
coach John cuzioh.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Let's go through the games.
Speaker 8 (01:00):
This week first, the big game in Marion County other
than the cross county rivalry between Ridgdale and Elgin, Ashland
travels to Harding. This is for the eerie bell and
it's a literal, big, huge train bell that was on
a train that ran between Ashland and Marion way way
back when Ashland has that right now because they beat
(01:23):
Harding last year fourteen to six. We were at that
game and saw that Week one, Ashland beat River Valley
forty one to twenty seven. That game was tied until
two turnovers by River Valley in the fourth quarter led
to them losing that game. In Harding beat Mount Vernon
thirty one to twenty seven, a very gritty Harding win. Coach,
(01:43):
what do you think of this game? Well, you know,
it's kind of hard to tell. We talked about this
during the course of the game. You know, it was
a big win for Harding.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
I know they were very upbeat this week when I
saw some of the kids. We don't know how good
Mount Vernon is. Not taking anything away from Harding, but
Harding who really did a job. They had some turnover
or not turnovers, but they had some penalties, you know,
just mental mistakes and I think they're gonna get those corrected.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
I really like Harding at home.
Speaker 6 (02:13):
They I think Ashland, though, is coming off of the
big win over River Valley.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
We don't know how good River Valley is.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
I know Ashland's going to come in here with their
big quarterback six y six kid and try to put
some points on the board, obviously, so I look for
a really I look for a more high scoring game
I look for. I really like Harding's chances.
Speaker 8 (02:33):
Harding really discovered some offense this season at quarterback and
in the backfield. Well really kind of a hybrid. We
thought it was going to be one player, it ended
up being another player that ended up being the star
with Parker Davis. But they've got a lot of weapons
and Harbolt again is a great weapon out there. I
(02:53):
think Harding does the job here. I hope all Louden
travels to Pleasant. Hope Well Aloudin and Pleasant did not
play last year. Traditionally, Pleasant the past few years has
been playing Wimford week two.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I like what they did here.
Speaker 8 (03:06):
They're scheduling a team that is perennial top team in
the conference that they're in, but also a playoff team.
Hope Well allowed in last week beat Carrie twenty seven
to twenty two. Pleasant beat North Union forty four to nothing.
This could be a really fun game.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Well, I'll tell you what I think. Pleasant definitely is
on the upswing. Four year quarterback starter Lowry scoring forty
four points against North Union Hope well loud, like you say,
is going to be a good test for him. They
beat Carrie, which what state champions a couple of years ago,
and they're always good and for them to knock carry
(03:44):
off as a pretty good feat.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
And I know Carrie, you know, we'll.
Speaker 6 (03:48):
Probably have definitely a winning record when this is all over.
So they beat a stout team, then they scored points.
I look forward to be a pretty hard hitting game.
This is going to be. This is going to be
a really good game to possibly go to. But I
like Pleasant's chances. They're on an up swing and I
think they've got things going over there.
Speaker 8 (04:08):
They've found a lot of weapons last week Alec Colmber
had a couple of big receptions, had an interception, had
touchdown a really good weapon at receiver.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
A lot of the past years.
Speaker 8 (04:19):
Pleasant had been more of a running team, but they
did have a quarterback that could throw and I think
this season we're going to see them throw the ball
aired out. This is a hard game to decide which
way it goes. I think pleasant definitely. When I can't decide,
I just go with that home Marion County team.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Yeah, I think Lowry. You know, he's got so much experience.
We've seen him play for the last three and three
years and this is his fourth season. He was he's
a competitor. I watched him in basketball. He guarded guys
that were bigger than him. He didn't back down. I
think that that means a lot, especially with a quarterback,
(04:56):
and I think that that means he's a leader. And
I really look for him and actually I think running
the football when he gets in trouble, he'll run out
of the pocket. I look for him to carry this
team and like you say, spread the ball out to
the guys he needs to. But I really like their chances.
Speaker 8 (05:12):
River Valley goes to Madison comprehensive. Last year, River Valley
beat Madison forty two to nothing. Now Week one, Shelby
beat Madison forty to fourteen. But that game was a
one point affair at halftime and then it just kind
of got away from Madison. River Valley, as we said,
lost to Ashland forty one to twenty seven, but sounds
like River Valley was the same River Valley we've seen
(05:34):
airing the ball out. Just a couple of mistakes late
in the game, but still a very dangerous team.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
Yeah, I look for River Valley to bounce back this week.
You know, you lose that first when we talked to
coach Chapman, you know about Aligion lost their first one.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
They're going to be focused.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
Those are the as a coach, those are I feel
the easiest weeks to get the kids focused and attention
because they lost the.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Game and the coach is going to want.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
To get some corrections made, and they're They're easy to
point out.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Keep their head.
Speaker 6 (06:05):
They're going to keep their heads up, and I look
for him to come come right at them and and
get a win this week.
Speaker 8 (06:10):
All right, So I agree at River Valley, I think
definitely wins. This game might be a closer affair than
it was last year because River Valley is replacing a
few key players, but they still have one of the
best linebackers in the area. They have one of the
best quarterbacks in the area, and they seem to always
reload at wide receivers, So this is a team that
if they can get their footing under them, I think
(06:32):
they're going to be a pretty strong team. That's a
rundown of all the games in the county except for one.
We will save that one for the end of the show.
But the games, I think if you're not going to
see Elgin Ridgdale, there's a lot of good games. Harding's
game is going to be great, Pleasants game is going
to be great. River Valley on the Road. So you
got a lot of options this this week for quality games.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
We're going to take another break. When we come back.
Speaker 8 (06:58):

Akron police investigating after multiple Facebook marketplace exchange just ended
in armed robberies. A twenty four year old victim was
robbed of the ATV that they were selling during an

a seventeen year old boy, was spotted writing the ATV.
He was arrested and charged with robbery. The second incident
happened when a twenty seven year old man met the

an undisclosed amount of money via cash shop instead of
giving the buyer the gaming console. That transaction ended with

We're back for the football Frenzy, brought to you by
McDaniel Automotive live from Ralphie Sports Eatery here marrying Eric
Moseley still alongside coach John Kuzio and also joining us
right now. Elginhead coach Zach Winslow and players Quentin Harrison
and Nash Lust, guys, thanks for joining us, thanks for
(13:00):
having us absolutely well, let's get right to it. And
I know I mentioned it before we went to break.
Probably got to keep our voices down because you're surrounded
by rockets right now, so you don't want to give
away too much. But first, coach, let's talk about last week.
We don't want to spend too much time on a loss,
but what were the takeaways from that first game?
Speaker 17 (13:21):
Takeaways were that, you know, we graduated a lot of
experience last year.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
That's no secret.
Speaker 17 (13:27):
We had a lot of seniors that played for us.
But having so many new guys on the field, we're
pretty dog on talented. I mean, we've got a lot
of dudes that we're figuring out how to work together. Okay,
the clock gears aren't syncd up yet, but you know,
you take away five turnovers, nine fumbles and we were
(13:49):
still in the game with two minutes left to go.
You know, we were ahead and just couldn't put them away.
So we got to clean some stuff up. But we
got potential to be really dog on.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
Good coach, the yardage he gave up. And this is
Eric's research.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
That he did.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
He's a good stat guy, and two hundred and seventy
two yards last week he gave up, which was not like,
you guys, what have you done this week to try
to keep that from happening.
Speaker 17 (14:16):
Well, we were the big play team last week defensively,
you know, we would hold him for no gain, a
negative game and then give up a twenty yarder or
you know, Denny had I think he had one hundred
and twenty three yards on the ground or something like that.
He had a sixty yard run and a forty yard run,
you know, and then the other twenty carries were pretty minimal.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
So we just got to not allow that big play.
Speaker 17 (14:39):
You know, we're solid for three downs in a row
or two downs and then we give up a big play.
So we just got to sure some of those run
through lanes and get our fits a little bit tighter
this week, and I think we'll be all right.
Speaker 8 (14:51):
You know, last last year, you guys started the season
on quite a role, and there was almost like a
pressure not only to win, but for a while there
to keep teams scoreless. Not saying that it's good to lose,
but does it almost take you know, it's like, Okay,
we got that out of the way, not that we
wanted to lose. Now we can just start over and
(15:11):
maybe run off nine or whatever.
Speaker 17 (15:13):
Yeah, I mean I think you know, the mistakes we
made were all fixable, even the turnovers offensively, but the
stuff we did defensively, you know, maybe not fitting up
against a power the right way, or not fitting up
against certain coverages the right way.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
We can fix all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
So it's been a.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Great week of practice. Our energy's great. Guys been working
hard despite the hot weather. So it's it's been great.
I'm excited for Friday.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Yeah, hey, Quinton, we want to You had a whale
of the game last week, one hundred and sixty six
yards rushing, three tds and an interception. Was there anything
else that you felt you could have done in the
game As you analyze your own play.
Speaker 18 (15:54):
I mean yeah, I mean every game there's always something better.
I mean offensively, I noticed that when I didn't get
the ball, I knew my role, but like I'd go
to gap down backer, I'd go.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
To my backer.
Speaker 18 (16:03):
Then I just whiffed the block and then give up
a tackle on a guy. So like, when I don't
have the ball, I need to be blocking for someone else.
Make sure he can make plays defensively. I mean some
of Denny's runs. I mean I kind of take blame
for that because I'm supposed to set the edge on
like a rocket or something, and if I'm just let
him stretch it. It was a fifteen gap fifteen foot gap
between me and the line.
Speaker 17 (16:24):
So I just got to.
Speaker 18 (16:25):
Learn to squeeze the edge more so. Teams don't have
a big old hole to walk run.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Through, And as a veteran player, you know what to
do and I'm sure you're gonna get it corrected.
Speaker 18 (16:33):
He I mean Denny's he's a good player. He runs hard,
So like, you got to be strict from that stuff.
You can't just let those mistakes happen.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Yeah, very good, Nash.
Speaker 8 (16:43):
You've been on this team for four years now, and
when you started it was a much different team than
what it is now. So what have you seen and
how have you seen this team grow over that four years.
Speaker 15 (16:55):
I've definitely seen this team grow as smart players and
their attitude has changed a lot over the four years.
At the start, nobody was like thinking about it as.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
It's important, but.
Speaker 15 (17:14):
People's attitude changed over the three years because coaches put
us through things and talk through.
Speaker 16 (17:20):
Us through practice.
Speaker 15 (17:21):
Practices have got lighter because we've learned more through the
three years, and it's gotten a lot easier on us
because we actually listen and not screw around or do
any of that.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
And as a veteran player too, we talk about the
game slowing down in front of you, that you're not
having to feel like you have to panic to get
your assignment, that you can see you can anticipate something
before it even happens.
Speaker 8 (17:43):
I'm sure, yeah, yeah, very And I got to ask too,
when you've started your high school career, wasn't a lot
of success. You guys were trying to build that Elgin
and we back up, what's that feel like now? It
seems like that Elgin pride is back.
Speaker 15 (18:01):
It felt great at first, and especially last year. As
soon as we started out like that, it was you
could tell it was very different, and hopefully we can
keep continue that after the first game this year.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
Well, one of the things that I've noticed when even
when you guys come in here the last couple of years, uh,
the way you interact with your coaches the way you
interact with each other. It's there you have to trust
that they know what they're doing and they really do
and that means a lot, doesn't it.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Yes, it does.
Speaker 8 (18:29):
So coach, let's turn to the Rockets first league game
this week, so you're getting right into it. And it's
also we could say it over and over, it's a
big rivalry the only time you get to play somebody
across county. What do you think of this Rocket team
this year, especially opposed to what they were last year?
Speaker 17 (18:48):
Well, similar, let's you know, they had to replace some guys,
some guys that played a lot of football for them,
been through some ups and downs, but were their foundation.
You know, they've got a couple guys that are seniors
that are taking over those roles. You know, Michael D's
being a guy that stepped up huge form in game
one that you know, was a role player last year.
(19:10):
You know, made had to do a lot of different things,
but he kind of really stepped up into being their
guy in week one. So he's on our radar. He's
a guy that we know we got to stop defensively,
but overall is a program. They continue to get better.
The last couple of years. I mean, you know, I
think coach Shefman does a great job with them, and
his assistants have really organized that program in a way
to where they can see, you know, the direction that
(19:31):
they need to go to be better.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
So I think there's going to.
Speaker 17 (19:35):
Be a you know, a good solid schematic game where
you know it's gonna be the team that makes the
less mistakes and can out execute the other team.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (19:43):
I really look at both teams, even though offensive philosophies
are very different. Defensively, I think you're very similar, but
both teams. You know, coach talked about how the players
interact with the coach. That's where I see the similarities
between what you guys have both ill and that just
kind of adds to the rivalry. How does it feel?
(20:04):
And I'll ask the players first, this cross county rivalry
the only one that you get to have. How does
it feel to be able to participate in that? And
do you get too hyped for it?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Maybe?
Speaker 18 (20:17):
I remember last year the nurse of that game. I
was ready to go.
Speaker 19 (20:20):
Last year.
Speaker 18 (20:21):
My sister's boyfriend he goes to Rigdale saw. I mean
he's talking all week and I just I used to
go to Ridgel when I was an elementary.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
So this game I'm.
Speaker 18 (20:29):
Always hyped for, no matter who what Rigel team we're
going up against. I mean, every year they're starting off strong.
I mean they're not just gonna be slouched to.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Where we can run them over.
Speaker 18 (20:38):
So every year I'm hyped for that, and I know
they're gonna give us our best effort every year.
Speaker 6 (20:43):
He's even well coached about what to say at the
opposed to team.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Yeah, let's see what Nash says.
Speaker 15 (20:47):
Though, after what we saw in the news last year,
it guys really like fired up.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
It's definitely coming into that game.
Speaker 15 (20:58):
We knew we had to prove something after what everyone
was saying.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
Okay, and for you, coach, what is it like to
your you once your guys hyped up for every game,
what's it like when you know that this is a
game that that does carry some emotion. How do you
keep it rained in just enough to use it well?
Speaker 17 (21:19):
Like you said earlier, this is our only cross county game,
so this is bragging rights for a year.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
You know, we see Ridgidly on a lot of sports.
Speaker 17 (21:26):
We see them at the fair, we see them you know,
at all these community events around so this gives us bragging.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Rights for a whole year.
Speaker 17 (21:32):
And uh, you know, right now we we own this rivalry.
And I'm not saying that to be braggadocious, but right
now it's one sided.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
So we can't let it slip the other way.
Speaker 17 (21:42):
And you know, pull a Ohio State Michigan and give
them a little bit of you know, a taste of
victory and let them run with it.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
We got to dominate and keep building.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
This is sort of like the the uh West Virginia
Pit Pit game backyard brawl type thing.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Can you tell where he grew up?
Speaker 6 (21:57):
Yeah, that was our h that was our thing. We
thought about all time, West Virginia and h Pitt But
uh yeah, it's a backyard bra The thing that you
got to do in a game like this is you
can't you got to.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
You can get psyched up, but you can't get psyched out.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
And if you you've got it's whatever team can slow
the game down in their mind is going to be
the one because it's not gonna go great. Sometimes in
the very beginning of the game, it's gonna be a
lot of emotion, there might be mistakes and and it's
your right coach is the team that gets things corrected
that happened in the first game. The thing I like
what what he Clinton said was, uh that he knows
(22:35):
what his mistakes were, and good players know what their
mistakes were.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
And I always it always bothered.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
Me when people would say, uh, the coach is really
going to be mad because we did this or we
did that. It shouldn't be the coach, it should be
the player. And I think you guys are on the
right track.
Speaker 8 (22:53):
So I imagine you're expecting pretty big crowd for the
home opener. How to just talk a little bit about
how that feels to be you know, the last time
you were on that field it was a loss in
the playoffs, So how's it feel to be able to
get back out there on the.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Home turf and represent.
Speaker 17 (23:08):
Well, you always want to protect your home field advantage.
I mean, you know, our.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Crowds were great last year.
Speaker 17 (23:13):
Hopefully we can keep that momentum up. You know, we
talked about or Nash talked about the community feeling after
having you know, a season like we did last year.
We I want nothing more for them to experience sold
out games, you know, four or five people deep around
the fence, stadium full, you know, those are great feelings
as a player to run off the field and ring
(23:34):
the victor bell after.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
You know, in front of a crowd like that.
Speaker 17 (23:38):
But I think with what Ridgdale has done and what
we've done over the last year and what we're bringing,
what we're coming off of last week, you know, we
both have a lot to play for, so I think
our emotions are going to be high. We want to
prove that we're better than the team we were last week,
that we're more efficient, that we're more dominant, that we're
more physical than what we were last week.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
And I'm sure they want to prove the same.
Speaker 17 (24:00):
You know, they're not satisfied with a one point win.
They want to clean up all their mistakes too, So
I'm hiped.
Speaker 8 (24:06):
Well, the comments just need to crank up that diesel, right, Coach, Yeah,
no question about it, frank up. I've got to wear
the neutral hat and this one and it should be
a good one.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
I hopefully it's as good a game as we had
last week. And we're really wishing both teams the best
of blocking and keep them healthy.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Coach.
Speaker 8 (24:25):
Just just one last question, coach, are there going to
be wings in the locker room?
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Absolutely?
Speaker 8 (24:31):
Ah, that's what we always like to hear. Hey, we
are so glad that you guys came out. Coach Winslow,
Quentin Harrison, Nash Lust thanks for joining us tonight. Good
luck this week. If you didn't get your food yet,
go get you some food. Okay, thanks for coming in.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (24:46):
We're gonna go ahead and take a break and when
we come back we will continue on in preview the
Ridgdale Elgin game, talk about what happened last year and
get you ready for the matchup this Friday night.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
On WMRN. You're listening to the football friends.
Speaker 8 (24:59):
He brought Thank to you by McDaniel Automotive Live at
Roufie's on fourteen ninety WMRN.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
I fish.
Speaker 20 (25:08):
I also clean local waterways so others can fish and swim.
I help build public boat ramps for easy access to
the water. I provide fishing and water safety education for kids.
I maintain a healthy fish population so tomorrow's anglers can
enjoy a catch. I prevent unwanted species from spreading into
(25:30):
waters where they don't belong. I restore the condition of
rivers to help fish and wildlife thrive. I fund long
term plans to protect our lakes and streams. I do
all of these things and more, all because I buy
a fishing license. When you buy a fishing license, you
do a lot. In fact, every dollar from a license
(25:52):
purchase protects and maintains your local waterways for future generations
to enjoy. To learn more about how you can get
your fishing license, go to take me fishing dot org.
That's take me fishing dot org.
Speaker 19 (26:08):
I'll never forget the day I decided to go out
for the football team missed their banks. The JV football
coach and my history teacher asked me to stay after class.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Now I thought I was in trouble.
Speaker 19 (26:19):
He said, hey, Darius, have you thought about going on
for football? I think you'd be great. Fact is, I
never played football. Fact is I never had anyone tell
me i'd be great at something. So with no experience
at all, I signed up and a week later I
padded up and was running drills on the field. I
(26:43):
never was great, but playing high school sports was one
of the greatest experiences of my life. I was accepted
by my teammates, and I learned that when someone believes
in you, you can believe in yourself.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Encourage a student you know, to take part in a
high school sport.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
This message presented by the OHSAA and the Ohio Interscholastic
Athletic Administrators Association.
Speaker 21 (27:09):
We are the NFHS that stands for the National Federation
of State High School Associations. But really what we stand for,
together with THEHSAA, are the three hundred and thirty nine
thousand high school sports students in Ohio, and so we stand.
We stand for the runners, soccer and basketball players. We
(27:32):
stand for their coaches, administrators, and officials. We stand for
the swimmers, football players, and wrestlers. We stand for the golfers,
softball and volleyball players. We stand as the national leader
and advocate for high school athletics and all who participate
in them and make them possible because it is our
(27:53):
purpose to ensure that high school students get to play, perform,
and compete together. To learn more about who we are
and what we stand for, visit NFHS dot org.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
We're always there for you, even on your smart speaker.
Just say hey, Google PLAYWMRN on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 8 (28:23):
Welcome back to the Football Frenzy, brought to you by
McDaniel Automotive Live from Ralphie's Sports eatery. We're in our
last segment now and now it's time for us to
actually talk about our thoughts on this Ridgdale Elgin matchup
that we will have live on Friday night, kickoff at
seven o'clock six point thirty. Will have countdown to kickoff
(28:45):
live from the stadium. So, coach, you look at this
RIDGEO Elgin matchup. Last year, Elgin beat Ridgdale thirty two
to nothing. Elgin now coming off a loss in Week
one to Carrington Ridgeo able to take care of a
road trip to to Hilldale.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Or whatever it was.
Speaker 8 (29:03):
I would talk Hilltop and now you know, kind of
coming into this game on different sides of the fence.
But it's a it's a rivalry game, and it's a
cross county matchups. So what are your thoughts on this game?
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Well, first of all, let's talk about sophomores.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
That's one of my favorite things to talk about and
early in the season and one of the things that
I always talk about are the new players. They don't
necessarily have to be sophomore, and you talk about experience,
and in a cross county game where everybody knows everybody,
I think the team that has the most experienced coming
into the game and takes care of the mistakes from
(29:42):
week one will be the winner. I know last year
Elgin was penalized a great deal, but they were head
and shoulders better than Ridgdale going into that game and
they won thirty thirty two to nothing in spite of
all their penalties, if you remember. I think this year
it's going to be a little bit different. I think
think the matchup is a little different Elgin. You heard
(30:03):
coach Winslow talk about he's got a lot of dudes
and and he's really likes his team. They got beat,
they worked real hard. They're working real hard to correct
those mistakes. You heard Quinton and the players talk about
they own those mistakes. They're gonna try to take care
of them. They're gonna do what they can do. I
liked Ridgdale's answers with their kids and what great kids
(30:25):
both from both teams, all of these teams that we
see throughout the year. And to answer your question, I'm
really looking for a more evenly match game this week.
They're gonna have to take care of the heat. Maybe
the team that has at least amount of players going
both ways, and I know with the heat. Everybody's talking
about the heat in the state of Ohio. It's gonna
(30:46):
be hot again on Friday night. So I'm looking forward
to a little closer game. I'm making no predictions.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
That's a smart man there.
Speaker 8 (30:55):
Coach Chapman had said that maybe his team was a
little bit too high last year going into that Elgin game,
and he feels like that that game was their worst
game of the season, and really, if you looked at
all their games, that that might have been the case.
It was week two. Everybody's still trying to field things out.
(31:15):
I kind of agree with you, coach. I look at
these teams as being a lot closer this year than
they were last year. They graduated some experience, but they
have had some good guys stepping into roles, and both
teams still have a couple of All Ohio wins from
last season playing on their teams. So it's it's not
(31:36):
a game that I could pick easily anyways, regardless. But
it's definitely not easy to pick this game going into
it because these teams looked very similar. I do think
it's going to be a great atmosphere. I think it's
going to be a fun game to watch and I
think if you if you have a chance to go
out there, you're going to see, you know what we
would call back in the day, a sloberknocker. I think
(31:58):
both teams and I do think Ridgdale felt like they
didn't they didn't show their physicality like they could have
last year against Elgin. If you remember, Elgin just seemed
to be just physically dominating against Ridgedale, and I think
this year there's a revenge factor there. They want to show, hey,
we are just as physical as that Elgent team.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Yeah, you know they're going to take another business trip.
We talk about that, but it's a few just a
few miles away, and the bus ride isn't going to
mount to really much of anything.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
But the thing that we talk about is the emotion.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
When you're playing a team that you know you're head
and shoulders better than you, better get emotionally ready or
they will bring it to you because they're going to
be psyched up. They're going to be bringing their a game.
But I think both teams, like you say, are going
to be evenly matched and that whoever can control it.
Because you see these teams on college.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
Football every week go out and open and.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
Kickoff they take it down and kick a thirty seven
yard field, go and get beat sixty three to three.
You know, And I'm not saying it's going to be
that type of a game, but the emotion can only
go maybe two three four minutes in the game, and
then after that you better be able to.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
Have something to back it up, all right, So we
again will have that game on Friday. A pregame will
start countdown to kickoff live from Elgin at six point
thirty and kickoff will be at seven o'clock. We're getting
ready to wrap things up, but I want to make
sure and grab general manager Mark Fole, who has been
running around like a crazy man tonight. Normally we try
(33:30):
to have him at the beginning of the show, but
he was busy.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 16 (33:33):
We love the comments in the rockets around Ralphie's good.
You should should anyway, And we were talking before the show, Eric,
I mean, it could have been just one of these schools.
It's gonna be the same darn thing. So I gotta
get back up and get back to work.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Guys.
Speaker 16 (33:48):
Well, I want to luck to both of the schools,
but I think both you guys know, go comments.
Speaker 8 (33:56):
We can't say that, but one thing before you leave,
I want to remind everybody Tomorrow night the McDaniel Automotive
Buckeye ticket giveaway, we will have tickets to the first
home game, and we are glad to be back here
at Ralphie's again to do it once again.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
This is your guys home.
Speaker 8 (34:13):
What time that that will start? We will start taking
entries at four point thirty. Drawing will be at six
thirty and Mark will be the guy running around all
hot and sweaty because he hasn't sat down.
Speaker 16 (34:24):
And we'll have the two fifty margaritas in three fifty
long Islands all day and night for that. The Wing
specials on tomorrow two to five, So if you do
get here a little bit before five o'clock, you can
catch that Wing Special before it ends, and you also
maybe won a couple of tickets. So guys, thank you
very much. I will see you gentlemen next week.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Hey, thanks for having us Mark.
Speaker 8 (34:42):
It's like he should just be paid by us to
be on the air, you know, that's for sure, But
we are again. We can't thank Ralphie's enough for letting
us come out here for this and for the ticket giveaway.
We can't thank Elgin and Ridgdale enough for cutting, in
some cases, cutting their practice a little short, bringing their
teams out. This is what it's about. Nobody. We've said
(35:04):
it before. There is nobody listening to hear myself or
to hear coach. They want to hear these teams, the
players and everything. And we feel privileged to be able
to bring that to you. And we love seeing this
out here.
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Yeah, go support the Marion County kids and coaches and schools,
the band, cheerleaders, everybody involved in football Friday night here
in Marion County. I tell you, if you see some
stadium lights open, go watch a game.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
You're gonna have a lot of fun.
Speaker 8 (35:31):
There are a few games to choose from, but we
want to thank Ridge Dale and Elgin coaches and players
for coming out. Thank you McDaniel Automotive and Ralfie's for
letting us come out here, McDaniel Automotive for sponsoring this show.
And then one more time, want to remind everybody the
McDaniel Automotive Buckeye ticket giveaway Tomorrow night. Get here by
four point thirty you can start entering. There will be specials.
(35:54):
We will draw two tickets for the home game on Saturday,
just before or just right around six thirty. But again
we are just glad to have been here tonight. Thank
you and good night everyone.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Hi, I'm Marcus Scribner. The way we treat others affects
us all
