Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're halfway through the week. Welcome to Wednesday morning. Thanks
so much for being with us this morning. In the
Big Three. He's back hered.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
He's more than the government program. It's a sacred promise.
We made as a sacred promise, seventy three million Americans
received Social Security.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
He's still doing that whisper shout thing over and over again.
He did it throughout the speech. Is its first time
now at the podium giving a speech since becoming an
ex president. It's the comeback nobody wanted. Joe Biden returns
to the national stage to join the chorus of Democrats
lying to us about Social Security being cut and your
(00:45):
benefits being cut. It ain't gonna happen. And we're learning
more about the mysterious plane crash in upstate New York
and who was on the plane, including twenty five year
old James Santuro from Manhattan.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
He really was a very son and a loving brother.
There are a lot of people who considered themselves happy
to have him in their life and proud to have
him in their life.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
That was his father. By the way, the NTSB is
still investigating the crash that killed six. It remains a mystery.
It just fell out of the sky. And the retrial
of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein starts in Manhattan with new
accusers and one that Weinstein's lawyers will claim was consensual sex.
(01:32):
This was not consensual, This was sexual assault. Live force
jury's selection will continue today. And Donald Trump was dead
serious when he said he wants to send violent American
born criminals to prison in l Salvador. He reiterated that
in an interview with Fox News.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
I call him homegrown criminals men, the ones that grew
up and something went wrong and they hit people over
the head with a baseball. We have and push people
into subways just before the train gets there, like you
see happening. Sometimes we are looking into it and we
want to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
And payback as hell. The Trump administration has sent a
criminal referral to the Justice Department alleging that New York
Attorney General Letitia James committed mortgage fraud. Will have the
details just ahead. And the world lost a game show legend.
Wink Martindale, the name that became synonymous with game show hosts,
(02:35):
has died at the age of ninety one. Will remember
his life and career coming up. But let's talk about
the comeback nobody wanted. Joe Biden returns to the podium,
and I know, look, I know, if you're a Republican
or your conservative, you're saying, oh my god. But it
(02:56):
is a good thing. This is the best thing that
could happened. The Democrats have been trying to ignore him.
The Democrats are trying to pretend that he never existed.
The reason that they have historically low ratings poll numbers
(03:18):
is because of Joe Biden's failures. So I won him
back front and center. As much as he wants to talk,
I welcome the return of Joe Biden. I love that
he took the podium and did the whole whispering and
yelling thing. Again.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Social Security is more than the government program. It's a
sacred promise we made as a sacred promise. Seventy three
million Americans received Social Security from the first paycheck for
their entire life. They paid to Social Security and return
they kind of solid security be for them. They're gonna
(04:00):
need it when.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
They're gonna need it. What is he Why why does
he do that? I don't you know, I've said a lot.
I've covered Joe Biden for a long time. A long time.
I've seen more than a dozen, maybe twenty speeches that
he's given, and I was always impressed by him. To
tell you the truth, Hey, he wasn't like that. This
(04:21):
is a new thing that he started doing recently, this
whole whispering and shouting thing. But man, welcome back Joe. Please.
They should invite him to the White House, let him speak,
put them front and center, Let him be the face
of the Democratic Party that they've been trying to hide
now for months and months and months and months and months.
(04:43):
They wanted to hope that he was buried in the
sand in Rehoboth Beach, just lay there and please never
come back. There's no Democrat that I know that wanted
him to come front and center. And now when they
believe they have an issue with the deportation of this
MS thirteen gang member to l Salvador, Oh, that's such
(05:05):
an awful thing. It's horrible. That's their newest one, that's
their late Everything else they've tried has failed, has absolutely failed.
And now after leaving the border open for four years
and letting millions come into this country, many of them unvented,
(05:26):
some of them that just got over the border, and
never got stopped by border patrol, which are called the getaways.
Tens of thousands of them. We have no idea who
they are. After all of that, they now want to
make this their issue. But along comes Joe Biden when
they are galvanized, when they think they have an issue.
(05:49):
And we'll talk about that coming up a little bit later.
When they have protests across the country. Alexandrio Cassio Cortez
was doing her best Spanish accent and saying that we
need to save him. And what does Joe Biden do.
He takes the last issue, the one that failed. He's
still talking about social Security. They've moved on from social
(06:11):
Security that didn't work, and there comes Joe Biden bringing
it back again.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
The Democrats have declared today to save social Security National
Action Day, National day of Action.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I should say, yeah, still messing it up, but there
he is. By the way, did you know it was
a day of action yesterday?
Speaker 5 (06:33):
No?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Because the Democrats ignored it. They did, They labeled it
that and then they ignored it themselves. Why because they
knew it wasn't working. They knew it wasn't working. Nobody
bought it. When they say they're cutting Social Security. They're
cutting the fat out of Social Security. They're cutting the staff.
All those people that Joe Biden added to the Social
(06:56):
Security employment roles that weren't needed and weren't showing up
to work, thousands of them, all those contracts that Social
Security was sending out for god knows what reason. They
sent so many contracts out that nobody knows what the
(07:17):
people that were actually there did. They outsourced everything because
they were paying off their donors. It was a huge scam.
You heard Elon Musk in the past say where are
the charges I uncovered all this fraud, When are the
charges coming. He gave a list of the NGOs, the
non governmental organizations that were just money laundering. You put
(07:41):
money into them, they give it to others, they funnel
it back to the Democratic Party. He caught it, He
traced the money. He's waiting for Pambondy and he's getting
itchy because that will that will prove that everything he's
tried to do worked. It shows the fraud. So he
(08:03):
were waiting for those charges. But here is Joe Biden
now is coming in front center, taking an old issue
of the Democratic Party that was last month's issue, bringing
it back, interrupting everything else they're trying to do with deportations.
He's a month behind in the Democratic agenda and stealing
(08:27):
the spotlight. It's a wonderful thing. The more Joe Biden
shows his face, the better it is for Donald Trump,
because voters look at that and go, oh, now I
remember why I wanted Donald Trump. Oh no, now I
remember why I voted for Trump. Yeah, now, now I
guess the tariffsman. We'll see how they work out now,
(08:50):
And now doje that they're pretty good? This was the
dumbest thing the Democratic Party could have done. And now
I'm sure that they didn't want it. I positive they
didn't want this. They have been completely ignoring him, completely
ignoring Joe Biden. And he has such an ego. He
has been in politics so long, he can't get that
(09:12):
out of his blood. He has to be in front
of the spotlight again. I'm sure Joe was pushing him too.
You got to get out there, You got to get
out there. The Democratic Party needs you, thank God. And
I hope this gets the Republican Party to remember what
he did to this country. And I hope this gets
(09:34):
the Republican Party once again, once again to say them
hiding his mental decline while he was in office was
a huge scandal and we should look into that. Oh Joe,
(09:55):
thanks for bringing back bad memories and making things a
little bit easier for Donald. You step in it every time,
and you stepped in it again. Thank you, thank you,
thank you. Well, I'm having a good day. I'm so
glad he's back. But would you like to have the
best day ever? Well, there is a formula for that.
(10:19):
We're gonna share it next. Plus we have tickets to
give away to see the Doobie Brothers at eight twenty five.
And with that, let's get to Vicki Palladino, New York
City Council members. She represents District nineteen of Northeast Queens.
And I'm gonna start Vicky with the question I always
seem to be wondering what is wrong with the city council.
(10:39):
This is re.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
Ridiculous, This is unbelievable that they're going up against that,
they're slapping Ice and the Adams administration with a lawsuit
over Ice returning to Rakers Island.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Where do they want they want the criminals back out
on the street. Is that what they want? They want
them to be freed and be back in the community.
Speaker 7 (11:02):
Yeah, good morning, Larry, Good morning everybody. Yes, it's you. Actually,
just I'm cracking up because as I as you introduced me,
I'm laughing because it is that funny. I mean, it
is pathetic when every when, every time you hear them
talk about public safety and you hear them stand on
how they are, you know, going at war with our
(11:26):
with our president and the Trump administration and to protect
the rights and safety of all New Yorkers against the
attacks of Donald J.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
Trump.
Speaker 7 (11:35):
Come on, give me a break. Okay, We've got real,
real issues here with them doing this. I tell you,
I was shot. I was surprised. Well, just when you
think you they can't surprise you anymore, they do. So
now this is made very very clear. You know, since
Mayor Adams took on Randy Mastro as his first deputy Mayor.
(11:58):
Randy is to say, brilliant is an understatement and needs
to be underscored several times with an exclamation point. They
will go to battle. They will lose the battle because
they've got every right to be there. Let's remember something
about our sanctuary city laws and how they all started,
(12:19):
you know, sanctuary. I'm going to read a little bit.
Sanctuary city laws were originally laws to as an enforcement
tool to help the local cops of our crimes by
encouraging witnesses to come forward without being afraid of their
immigration status. Well that was you know, that was then
in twenty sixteen when they redid the sanctuary city laws,
(12:45):
it was they expanded that to remove ICE from our
gl system. However, it remained legal for the mayor to authorize,
under executive authority, cooperation with ICE for the sake of
law enforcement or on national security. So that means that
(13:09):
gang members, criminals, terrorists and legally eligible are legally eligible
under our sanctuary city laws for the NYPD or Corrections
to turn them over for deportations. Okay, so now the
mayor has used this authority, you know, and to authorize
(13:29):
ICE to enter rikers, you know, to pursue immigrations all
our gangs. So this has been a real joke and
the whole thing is absolutely ridiculous because you just can't
this is this is just belowney what she's doing. You
cannot do this. And then she has her whole crew
(13:51):
behind her. You know, last week before the stated meeting,
you know, you had a lessis sevillists, all these haters,
and like you said, very very very from the beginning,
this is all about actually breaking the sanctuary city policy
by deep pointing and getting rid of the dangerous and
(14:13):
the most vile of our criminals. And yet they don't
want to do that. Wrap your head around it, everybody,
try to wrap your head around it in insanity.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Yeah, let's be clear and exactly what they're saying now,
because Tom Homan has been pushing for this all across
the country for a long long time. All he's saying
is we're going to go after these people anyway. We'd
rather do it, no fuss, no mess. You hand them
over to us already cuffed, will take them into custody.
That way, we don't have to have a shootout in
(14:44):
the communities. We're going to get them anyway. But now
they're going to be in the communities and we have
to send a massive amount of manpower to arrest them.
So they're gonna get arrested no matter what. And so correct,
that's why it's insane, VICKI, That's why it it makes
no sense at all.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
This could be like you said, cut and dry, they
get arrested, they're taken to Rikers. Homan guys go in
and they remove them and they take them where they
need to go. I mean simple, very very very simple.
Why do they want Well, you see, the issue is
they feel like they are going to be knocking down
(15:23):
doors of innocent people. Now that one guy that got
transferred last week to El Salvador and it seems to
be tying up the news. Now one guy, one person
and an MS thirteen gang member, though he doesn't have
any tattoos. They're using him as the post a child. Okay,
(15:45):
he's the poster child for what Trump is doing wrong
and what Homan is doing as far as knocking down
and taking an innocent father away from his children. This
is not the way it's going everybody. Okay, these are lethal,
lethal people. These are people who set human beings on
(16:05):
fire and subways. These people have got to go. Holman's
got a handle on it. Let's keep it clean, let's
get them out. My counsel seems to think that this
is an invasion of our undocumented people here in the city.
That's not what's happening. Okay. If you are an undocumented person,
(16:26):
a law of body person, though you are here illegally,
but you are not committing any crimes. They are not
coming after you. They are coming after the people that
don't make us feel safe yet. In her opening statement,
she says that this is once again that the City
Council is going to stand firm to protect the rights
(16:48):
and safety of all New Yorkers against the Trump administration. Well,
you know what, Speaker Adams, you got.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
It backwards and she can never be married especially because
of that. Vicki Peladine, New York City Council represents District
nineteen of Northeast Queens. Thank you so much, all very
well said. Appreciate you being on.
Speaker 7 (17:07):
Thank you, Darling. I have a happy holiday.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Okay you too, Welcome back. Look, there's great trepidation even
fear of introducing AI into the workplace, But this next
story goes beyond the pale. A Shopify CEO wants new
hires to prove they can do the job better than
a I. So what would the next step be replacing
(17:33):
them if they can't do the job with a I
Don't even know where that is going. But Greg g
and Grande May he's the career advice expert. You can
check him out on go to Greg dot com and
he's with us every week with his expertise. So Greg,
explain this story to me. How do you feel about it?
Speaker 5 (17:54):
Well, I don't want to scare anyone that the future
is now and if you don't jump on this, then
you're going to get left behind. What the CEO said
was it wasn't asking new hires to prove they can
do the job better than AI. It was saying to
(18:15):
current managers, before you ask for resources or to hire
new people, or to even backfill people who you know,
somebody leaves, you have to prove to me that AI
can't do that job before we add resources. And you
(18:35):
know it's shopify. So he's made big headlines, but this
is actually going on across corporate America already, just not
making headlines.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Oh well, that's good. I had the story wrong, and
I'm actually glad I did because that makes a little
bit more sense. But do we know how many jobs
have been replaced by AI so far?
Speaker 5 (18:59):
We don't know that yet because I think it's still
too soon. But this year I can tell you just
from my network and a lot of the companies that
I know as they are planning for their next fiscal year.
Whether it's the calendar year of twenty twenty six or
if it's some point this year, all budgeting for most
(19:23):
corporations is going to include how do we dramatically increase
productivity cut costs by implementing AI, which will result in
some jobs being eliminated and other jobs is being augmented
by the different tools and technology. You know, The World
(19:43):
Economic Forum estimates that half of the workforce is going
to need to be completely reskilled within the next five
years because of AI, and more than half of students
who are entering college now will likely be in jobs
at some point in their career that don't currently exist
(20:03):
because of AI. So the time, it doesn't matter where
you are in your career, if you're just entering or
if you're middle of senior management, now is the time
to make sure that you are fully fluent in how
to use the tools. It doesn't mean you need to
be a coder or an engineer, just like you don't
need to be that to use the internet. Think of
(20:24):
it that way.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Yeah, everything has changed because of AI, but we were
sold a bill of goods because when they were first
talking about AI, they kept saying, oh no, no, it's
not going to replace anybody. It's a tool. You're gonna
be able to use this in your job. You're gonna
be able to do your job better. But it sounds
like the replacements of jobs has already started.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
It has, but it will be both. There will be
some jobs that will become extinct because of what AI
can do, but faster and better, just more efficiently. There's
virtually no job that isn't going to be impacted in
some way, maybe not make it defunct, but will completely
(21:09):
change how one does that job. So it's going to
be both. There will be some jobs, particularly obviously in manufacturing,
a little less so in the service sector, but anything
having to do with research and writing and content creation,
data analytics, and even coding. Those jobs are going to
(21:32):
change dramatically and many are going to go away.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Are we at a point now where companies have complete
trust in AI?
Speaker 5 (21:41):
No? No, There is a lot that most people still
don't know about AI security, AI privacy, how these language
models learn, and what they do with the information. So
there's a a whole kind of workstream and committees and
(22:04):
legislation about how do we ensure that AI is a
force for good and doesn't compromise personal security, confidential information.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
It is interesting that schools have changed on AI too.
It used to be and I have kids that are
both college age and high school agent. It's happening in both.
It used to be you can't use AI. Don't use
AI for your paper. If I catch you checking AI
and there's programs to check if somebody used AI, you're
going to get an f That has now changed that
(22:41):
you can use AI, but you have to you have
to give a reference that you did, and you have
to talk about where you used AI in your paper.
I think that's not only a huge change, but from
what you're saying, it's good that kids are learning how
to use it like that.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Absolutely, it is fundamentally changing education, and it was It
was folly to think that that students wouldn't be using
AI in the same way to think that they wouldn't
be using the Internet. You have to think about it
as just a tool. Of course, it could be used
for cheating, but so could the Internet. Cheating has been
(23:19):
going on since the beginning of time. The tools and
technology have just gotten better. But incorporating AI as an
incredibly powerful innovative tool to enhance an augment learning is
what the future of education is all about, and.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
To augment the workplace. So you're saying we shouldn't be
scared of AI.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
No, And if you are and you avoid it, you
are going to make yourself more vulnerable in your job
and your career. So you don't want to sound old.
You don't want to say in my day right and
talk about the Internet as like the greatest invention. You
want to sound current. And it doesn't take a lot
(24:07):
to be current on AI. Like I said, you don't
have to be an engineer. You just have to know
what the tools are and how to use them and
be an advocate for it, and that'll make you sound
and be more current in the workplace.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
