Speaker 1 (00:00):
Anyway, it's still not as horrible as it was the
sauna like conditions it was the last three days. So
get out and enjoy today because it's going to be
a good one in the Big Three today, well a
day after a shocking Democratic primary. It's still sinking in
right now that the Democratic nominee is a socialist and

(00:23):
he is now the front runner to be the next
mayor of New York.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
But he is one of the most dangerous people that
I have seen in a very long time.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
How did he even get to the point where he
even has a shot? I mean, he's a freaking socialist.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
We have political strategist Hank Schinkoff coming up here at
eight thirty five to talk about the race to come.
It's going to be one of the best mayoral races
in New York in a long long time. The FBI
is investigating to find the leak of a classified intelligence
breathing of a damage assessment on the strike on Iran's

(01:01):
nuclear facility. I understand the FBI is investigating who was
the source of that leak because it's an illegal leak
to CNN and shot of.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Consequence to the leak or face go to jail.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Not only was the leak illegal, but the information that
CNN and The New York Times went with was just wrong.
According to the US, according to Israel, and according to
UN assessments, there's no doubt that it was obliterated. So
the reporting out there that that that in some ways
suggests that we did not achieve the achieve the objective

(01:35):
is just completely preposterous. Remember Jordana Miller yesterday was the
first one to tell us. We have Jordana Miller coming up.
We're going to ask her about the possibility of an
agreement between Iran and Israel at seven oh five, a
long lasting agreement, not just to cease fire. On the
third day of a record setting heat wave, a crowded
Amtrak train gets stuck in a tunnel with no power

(01:59):
on its way from Baltimore to New York.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
It's insanely hot on here, and I can't imagine that
a few people here can last much longer because.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
It's Jeff mar will have an extended weekend forecast coming up.
Closing arguments begin in the Sean Diddy Combs trial, and
the jury is expected to have the case by the
end of the day. So what is expected to happen.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Guilty transportation to engagement, prostitution. I think the sex trafficking
counts are going to be difficult both for Jane and
for Cathy, but especially for Jane because there's just so
many issues as to her text messages and how she
came off on the stand that she just wanted to
please her lover.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Peter Haralambus will have the latest on the case at
seven thirty five. In a horrible accident on a beach
in Asbury Park, New Jersey, when a lifeguard falls off
a stand and is impaled by an umbrella.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
It was just a freak thing. As she was putting
it in, caught it, pulled it up, so when she
grabbed it, she was off balance so and agains. She
was on the top step of the bench, so she
fell backwards off the bench and the umbrella came with
her when she came down and he just landed on
her arm.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
The lifeguard is expected to be okay. It is said
to be in high spirits right now. So let's talk
about what everybody is talking about across the country. Well,
New York made national news but for the wrong thing.
And you can see how it happened yesterday, you can
understand how it happened. There was a very low voter

(03:32):
turnout again for a democratic primary, except for young people
ages twenty five to thirty five, who were inspired somehow
by a socialist, a democratic socialist from Yuganda who's been
a citizen for seven years. They love him, all the

(03:52):
free things he promised and they showed up. So he
had all the energy in the race, which means, come
the fall, we have to equal that energy on the
other side. I don't care if you like the other candidates.
Energy can be bad energy too, and that you want
to defeat somebody. So he cannot be mayor of New

(04:16):
York or, as former assembly Person Dove Hikin puts it.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
But he is one of the most dangerous people that
I have seen in a very long time.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
How did he even get to the point where he
even has a shot? I mean, he's a freaking socialist.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yes, he is a freaking socialist. But you know what,
he's a really good politician. That's the one thing you
got to give him. And by the way, here's the
other thing you have to give him. He doesn't lie.
He does and he tells you who he is. He
tells you what he's going to do, and there is
a segment of the population that buys into that. Now,

(04:54):
it's ridiculous on its face. None of it can happen,
but he promises it, and he does it really well.
He is excellent. Even when you say, wait a second,
you're a socialist.

Speaker 7 (05:09):
I think of the words of doctor King, who decades
ago said call it democracy or call it democratic socialism.
There must be a better distribution of wealth for all
of God's children in this country. And it gets to
the heart of the matter, which is inequality and my
belief that every New Yorker should have what they need
to live a dignified life.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
So in that whole thing, all that godly group that
you can get rid of, it's the distribution of wealth
that you should listen to, because the distribution of wealth
is what has ruined country after country after country after country,
and city after city. It's unworkable. It's been tried. It's
a really nice idea, it's just unworkable. It is not

(05:46):
going to happen in New York City. It's not going
to work. None of the things he's saying he can do,
he can do. It's impossible. He's not going to be
able to get the money. I know he's going to
tax the rich. I know he's going to tax corporations.
That all has to go through the Assembly, which, by

(06:06):
the way, as Mayor Adams points out, he's an assemblyman.
How come he never introduced this? How come he never
did it up there because he knows he can't do it.
He knows it'll never get through. But he's going to
hope that he can create some kind of movement and
push it through. In the meantime. You know, it doesn't
sound like Andrew Cuomo is going to run as an independent.

Speaker 8 (06:30):
I am qualified have an independent line. That's done, and
I am right now assessing that landscape and looking at
the information talking to people, talking to the stakeholders in
my campaign about what that general election is going to
look like.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
That's hard to listen to. Was he always that boring? Seriously,
he's been so boring the last month and a half.
I can remember his past campaigns, right, he was, he
was kind of fiery. He was he was, he made sense,
he was strong. It is it is he's lost all

(07:13):
energy and he's up against this thirty three year old
who has all the energy in the world, and he
just he never seemed like he wanted it. He never
really fought for it. He he was hiding half the time,
he wasn't even in the city, was in Westchester County
half the time. He never I think he thought it
was a good idea. And then he was, you know,

(07:35):
do I have to work for this? Do I have
to put up with this kid? And then he saw
the numbers. But man, or do you.

Speaker 9 (07:42):
Think he's just seeing his party fading away into something else?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Well, that's gonna that is that that's a whole national debate.
You're right, I mean, that is right. But but you
don't give up. I mean, they're gonna lose their party.
It's they may never win another election. U I know
have said that. It's but it's hiberbal hyperbole. I know,
I know things change, things will change, But they're not
gonna win the midterms, and they're not gonna win the
presidency if they keep holding on to this woke, far

(08:09):
left liberal policy where they're going to give free things
to everybody and they're going to attax the rich. It's
just ridiculous. By the way, you know who contributed to
campaigns the rich? So how are you gonna get any
money at all. Here's a couple of things I know, mom,
Donnie has now switched his tactics because all of a

(08:30):
sudden he didn't really talk about Donald Trump the whole time. Now,
all of a sudden in his acceptance speech and in
an interview yesterday, Trump Trump, Trump, Trump Trump.

Speaker 7 (08:41):
What concerns me is that President Trump's interest in our
city oftentimes is one to make an example of us,
to attack the very fabric of what makes so many
of us to be proud as New Yorkers. And I
am going to be the mayor who will stand up
for New Yorkers, no matter whether it's because Trump is
attacking them on the basis of their documentation, their sexual orientation,
or their politics.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
So he already knows he's running against Adams, and Cuomo's
probably not running, and Adams is his number one foe,
and Adams, of course he wants to tie to Donald Trump.
But Adams is already campaigning.

Speaker 10 (09:16):
He wants to raise tax on one percent of New
York as high incommernis. As a mayor, you don't have
the authority to do that. You know who has the
authority to do that? An assembly man, which he is.
He wants to do free buses. He could have done
it that assemblyman.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Right.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Everything he's saying he wants to do now is mayor.
He had the opportunity to do for the last six
years and he never even talked about it. It's going
to be a fascinating race. I do think Adams is
going to be a good candidate.

Speaker 10 (09:46):
I know I'm very much in this race, and out
of everyone that's running, there's only one thing that I
have that no one else has.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I one before a familia.

Speaker 11 (09:57):
I know how to win a race for maya.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's going to be the best election for mayor in
New York in decades. Strap in and our next story.
Come on, we all do this. You take your phone
with you when you go to the toilet, right, everybody
does it. Everybody, don't look away. Don't all if you
look away, you know you do it. Well now doctors

(10:21):
are warning against it. We'll tell you why. Next. Well,
I'm looking forward to talking to Hank shankopp We're going
to get to him in one second, but I want
to play a talk back only because it relates to
what we'll be talking to Hank about.

Speaker 11 (10:33):
Good morning, I don't understand the democratic socialist nonsense. What
are we Hurtz Penske, what is it a Are we
sugar coating it? Just call it what it is. Run
as a socialist if that's what you want to be.
Actually run as a start a new party for the
Communist Party if you want to be transparent.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Right, The only thing I'm going to say is that
the Communist Party probably wouldn't be new party. But who
would know more about that than me, as Hank Schykoff,
longtime Democratic consultants and political consultant. Hank, let me start
before you get Before you go ahead and respond to
the talkback, which I'd love you to do, I just
want to know what your reaction was Tuesday night when

(11:17):
the results came in.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Well, look, Hank Shinkoff said, if you listen to the radios,
the TVs and everybody else less you in January that
Sulton Mndonmie could win this thing. So I'm not surprised.
What I think. I think that the demographics of New
York City have now been substituted for by age as
the more important demographic. This is a reflection of the

(11:42):
bankruptcy of the Democratic Party that has nothing new to say,
and in fact has been taken over by socialist And
there's about young people who have never borne a burden
or paid a price, or done the dirty work of democracy,
nor cared to who have decided that they have a
do bill and that someone who was not born in
this country hasn't lived your most o his life, has

(12:04):
never also paid a price though born in burden is
the one they need to defend themselves against what against
having to pay the price and democracy and it's an
very extraordinary thing to be. The Democrats have failed because
they think they thought that the way to deal with
Trump was to sit on the sidelines and do nothing.
But the Bernie Sanders AOC wing had a very different view.
And the end result is that their candidate for mayor

(12:27):
of New York City won the race.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Won the primary, and that's a little bit easier for
him to win than in the general election. If he
continues by claiming to be a socialist that's going to
give free everything and have the rich pay for it,
can he win the general election?

Speaker 4 (12:47):
It depends that the young people turn out. I mean
they are the ones that are propelled into office. It
depends how upset people are and how much education they have.
Not in a negative way, but it's just a clear
discussion about what Zoemandami's programs mean, what his his uh,
his idea about public policy could portend. That's the job

(13:10):
of the campaign. Can Can he be defeated today? It's
going to be tough. Curtis Lee, if you were a
New York patriot and he is a New York patriot,
should really drop out of the race, get find Eric
Adams and win the thing because he's not gonna win.
No one's going to vote for guying a red beret.
He's a very nice fellow who has some ideas, and
but it has never managed anything you know of consequence.

(13:31):
I mean, this is not it's not gonna work. You
need you need to give Adams the opportunity to make
his case. Uh. And that is just a fact. Can
you win? Can Adams win? The answers yes, if it's
if they run a smart campaign. The Pomo campaign failed
because the Pomo campaign failed, simple, you know, campaigns make
the difference. And the campaign was did not do what

(13:53):
it was supposed to not because they was because they
you knew that it was not it was it wasn't
working the poland kept shifting right. And it also tells
you about the failure of polling. You know, you have
a particular style of usual gang of imbeciles who said
that Joe Crowley was up by I think fifty one points.
They keep doing the same thing and keep coming up
with false numbers and no one says, wait, you're wrong.
I also think this was a world zult I hope

(14:15):
will wipe out a people in a political consulting business
who produce crappy ads, do crappy work and should not
be paid to do this, and embarrass everybody else.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I'll tell you what, Emerson Pole's looking really good right now.
A little shout out to them because they called it.
They said he was going to not buy this much.
They thought it was going to be in the eighth round,
but they said, mom, Donnie was going to win at
the very end. But you're right, there was an excitement,
especially among Democratic voters between the ages of twenty five
and thirty five. Is there going to be enough of

(14:48):
them in the general election of when you're going to
have a much larger group of people coming out in
a highly competitive election that's going to get national attention.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
We don't know that yet. Why the Mondamie campaign was
extraordinarily well organized. People working, families, party and people from
all over the country were paid to show up here.
There were canvases on the street from the beginning. The
number to watch that no one paid attention to was
was early voting. And instead of looking at it smartly,

(15:22):
which is who was coming out and where and by
doing that I mean posters pull what pull samples from
the same houses so they can do polling right. Instead
of looking at what we call they were looking at
four out of fours people who voted to the last
four elections. For the last three elections, I suggested a
post a friend of mine that they looked at one
out of one out of fours, two out of fours
younger people because they're the ones who turned out to

(15:42):
vote early. They were very well organized. This is very
much what was done in other cities that have gone
into the toilet where ranked, where woke das and woke
officials have been elected. And this is what New York
City can look forward to. An attempt by outsiders to
take it over and to put Mandamie, who's whose silverspoon?
Mondombie is really what his name should be never never

(16:04):
put a callous on that hand.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah, you're right. I will tell you one thing that
I noticed just recently. It was in his concession speech,
and then again he did it when he was interviewed
on an eyewitness news. He's now talking about Trump a lot,
and I thought that was an interesting shift because I'm
certain that's what he's going to use against Mayor Eric Adams,
and he's already started that campaign. That would be effective, right.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Adams. Let's see, Trump is probably an eighty five percent
negative in New York City right now, and using Trump
against Adams would be very smart. We know now that
accusing Mondomie being an ant semi doesn't work with young
people because they don't care. But talking about the globalizing,
the empty father, you can call it whatever you want,
but it means exactly what it says. You should note.

(16:51):
I think that this is the end of Jewish New
York and ethnic New York as we know it. It
is over. The white ethics don't have to say that
they used to been replaced and the children who are
just who have effectively been as responsible as developers for
the destruction of affordable housing in New York City by
gentrifying neighborhoods right right, and then jacking up the cost
so they can earn on properties. Park Slope of hypocrites

(17:13):
are a classic example. And how many of them have
rentals and those brownstones. That's the world of Brad Lander.
Who was likely to be Brad Lander, the pro boycott
Investment Sanctions Controller New York City, is likely to be
a deputy mayor in the Madamie administration. Oh absolutely, yeah, no,
they really deserve each other.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Thanks youhin Kav, longtime democratic consultant and political consultant. We
hope to talk to you, Hank right through the campaign.
You were great. Thanks a lot, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Thanks for having me, and I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
It's time for Rich de Mureau from rich on Tech.
He's heard Sunday nights from eight to eleven pm on
WR and don't forget to follow him on at rich
on Tech on Instagram and sign up for his free
newsletter at richontech dot com. Thanks a lot, Rich, thanks

(18:05):
for being here as always. Hey, I am excited. I
love Amazon Prime Day. Who doesn't Who doesn't order something
during Amazon Prime Day? And now we get two extra days?

Speaker 12 (18:16):
Yeah, two extra days? So It started out as one
day ten years ago. Now it jumped to two and
this year it is four July eighth through eleventh. Mark
your calendars. This is typically when Amazon and all the
brands that are on Amazon put out their products with
their lowest prices of the year. Typically, you know this
is the best time to buy stuff, and this year

(18:39):
they're promising even more deals than ever from big brands
like Samsung, Levi's, Dyson, and Keels. They call those Today's
big deals. Those are gonna drop at midnight. And then,
of course, if you're looking for Amazon branded products, we're
talking Blink little mini cameras, ring stuff, fire stuff, euro stuff.

(18:59):
Those are all going to be at their lowest prices
ever on a lot of that Now typically it's the
previous year's models, not necessarily like the latest, but it's
still pretty good. Then they're doing this thing. With gas.
You can get a dollar off per gallon during the
July fourth weekend at select BP, Amoco and AMPM stations.

(19:20):
But here's the deal, Larry. My advice, start your shopping now,
so put everything into your car or your saved later
list that you want to buy and then wait for
price drops. So even during the time leading up until
Prime Day, a lot of these prices do drop, and so,
especially on electronics, gadgets, whatever you want, put it in
your cart now. Amazon dot com slash Prime Day is

(19:43):
a great place to look for personalized deals.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
And then if you want to.

Speaker 12 (19:46):
Do price checks, this is a website with a funny name.
It's called Camel Camel Camel. So if you're wondering is
this really a good deal? Is it not a good deal?
Pop the Amazon url into that website and it will
tell tell you yes, this is the lowest price ever
on this product, or nah, this product actually went down
to a lower price six months ago.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I love that. What is that again? Where do you
go for that again?

Speaker 12 (20:10):
Camelcamelcamel dot com. I pretty much don't buy anything on
Amazon on sale without checking that, because here's the thing.
If it's like, oh, Prime Day twenty percent off, you're like,
oh my gosh, I gotta buy this right now, and
then you put it into Camel Camel Camel and it says, oh,
by the way, this has been thirty percent off seventeen
times throughout the year. You're like, oh, never mind, that's
not a it's a good deal, but it keeps going

(20:32):
on sale over and.

Speaker 9 (20:32):
Over right, And you know, Rich, I always wondered when
you go on Amazon and it'll give you the price
and they'll say it's forty seven percent off, how do
I know they haven't jacked up the price yesterday and
it's forty seven percent off from yesterday's price.

Speaker 12 (20:47):
Yeah, well that's misleading because it may be forty percent
off the suggested retail price, but the reality is, has
anyone actually ever paid that suggested retail price in many circumstances. No.
But that's the reason I like that price tracker because
they'll tell you the history of the price. And some
products that they sell for one hundred dollars the entire year.

(21:08):
Maybe during Prime Day they are on sale for eighty
it's the only time they ever drop twenty percent. So
that's when it's a deal.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Amazon Prime Day or days now must be extremely successful.
Do we have any numbers on how much their sales
go up at this time?

Speaker 12 (21:25):
They never give out numbers on how much sales go up,
but they do tell you how many percentage, you know,
like how many people buy, Like it's the biggest year,
the biggest four days, whatever, it is, biggest shopping day
of the year, but they never give like solid, solid
numbers on it. But from what I could tell, it
is a very successful day because more and more companies

(21:47):
every year jump on the bandwagon and do offer better deals.
Like I feel like in years past it's been kind
of a dud, but nowadays I do think that it
is a good time to shop.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Hey, July ninth in Brooklyn, Samsung is hosting its big
Unpacked event. I'm sure I should be excited about this,
but I don't know what it is. What is that?

Speaker 12 (22:09):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to this. This is happening July ninth.
It's their new Unpacked event, and this is where Samsung
will unveil their new foldable phones. If you can believe it,
they've been doing foldable since twenty nineteen. They're on their
seventh generation of them, so we've got the z Flip
seven and the Z Fold seven. Of course, they'll be slimmer,

(22:30):
they'll be better, they'll be faster. But you know, Samsung
is not facing a lot of foldable competition here in
the US, of course, because Apple has not launched a
foldable just yet. They're expected to launch one perhaps next year,
but more realistically maybe twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
But in the.

Speaker 12 (22:47):
World there are a lot of foldable phones from different brands,
especially the Chinese brands like Honor, Huawei, Opo. They've all
got them. So anyway, if you're a foldable fan, July
ninth is the date when Samsung will show off their.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Latest Hey, Microsoft is giving Window ten users a lifeline
right free extra year of security updates. Who qualifies for that?

Speaker 12 (23:12):
Yeah, you wouldn't believe it. This is one of the
most popular questions I get my radio show is what
do I do? We know that Windows ten official support
ends on October fourteenth, twenty twenty five. That deadline is
quickly approaching. Windows of Microsoft of course wants you to
either update or get a new computer if your computer
can't handle Windows eleven. But there is a way to

(23:33):
get security updates for one more year through October twenty
twenty six. There's actually three new options. Microsoft says if
you use the Windows Backup app on your computer, which
means you have to sign into Microsoft sink some of
your files and settings to the cloud, that will kick
off an extra year of software and security are just

(23:54):
security updates, no more software updates, or you can redeem
a thousand Microsoft reward points. You might not even know
you have these. If you want to check it out,
go to rewards dot bing dot com. I turned out
I have twenty eight hundred of these things, or you
can pay thirty dollars. Of course, who wants to pay
when you can get it for free doing the other
two options. But the bottom line here, Larry, is that

(24:17):
because support is officially ending on October fourteenth, twenty twenty five,
that gives hackers an opportunity to try to find exploits
on all these computers still running older software. So if
you're not getting these security updates, you're at risk. And
that's why you should do one of these options. If
you're gonna stick with Windows ten for another year.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
