Speaker 1 (00:00):
And a very good morning to you. Happy Monday. It
is Ken Rozatto in and Larry had a little car trouble,
so I said, hey, you know what, what the heck,
I'll come in. I'm not doing anything. I hope you
don't mind. I still have my hair up in a bun. Natalie,
I hope you don't mind the way it looks.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's a great look for you. Good to see, and
thanks for jumping in so quickly. Never fun when you
have car problems in the morning right.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Now, been there a thousand times. It's definitely an issue
that you don't want. Especially. It's one thing when it
happens at eight thirty in the morning or something and
you're driving into the office and somebody could sit in
for you whatever, you just be in the meeting. But
when you got to be on radio or television and
it's three o'clock in the morning and you don't know,
that's what it's terrifying. So it's a horrible Hey. Nonetheless,

(00:45):
it's Hey, here's a couple of things. I'm having fun
with you, guys. It is a beautiful Monday. We're gonna
have sunshine today. It's gonna be highs in the upper seventies,
around eighty in some places, or mid seventies in most places.
And that's a good way to start today. But we
got a lot of trouble things to talk about here.
Did you guys see what's going on with Newark Airport again?

(01:05):
What the heck is going on with Newark Airport? I mean,
I live twenty minutes from ne York. I know you're
not that far from Newark Airport. But again, the Newark
Airport faced disruptions again over the weekend because they have
that equipment issue, forcing a forty five minute ground stop.
The FAA reporting that they had a telecommunications problem at

(01:26):
the Philadelphia tradecon facility. Here's what I don't understand. We're
a radio station right now, We're all over the place
in different studios because of the circumstances we had. You're
able to hear me. I'm able to transmit on a
fifty thousand watch signal to millions of people. Everybody can
hear me. Why is it that the federal government, with
a supposedly limitless pile of cash cannot get this damn

(01:50):
thing to work? It is unbelievable. But this has been
going on now for a week and a half. So
this is all because we are operating our radar for Newark,
one of the busiest airports in the United States, out
of the Philadelphia Traycon facility, and that manages Newark's airspace.
So apparently there were popping sounds on radio frequencies. I

(02:12):
don't mean to laugh, because I fly to Newark. I
don't want to get stuck in that. But apparently there
were popping sounds occurring from their Traycon facility. Imagine you
got a seven to four coming in from Beijing headed
toward Newark Airport and yeah, okay, all right, seven for
all right China air Oh oh wait, yeah, that's not

(02:33):
what you want. We could kind of make light now
because everything was okay, but it's just by the grace
of God, everything's okay. So now controllers say they switched
to a backup system the other day. By eleven am,
operations returned to normal. But that was the third technical
issue at Newark in two weeks, following the brief rightar

(02:54):
outages that occurred on April twenty eighth and again on Friday,
which also disrupted flights. So the FAA says they are
investigating as controllers face ongoing challenges. But I don't know
about you. I got big problems with this. This should
not be the case, not in the year twenty twenty five,
when we have the technology we have, and this has
been an issue now for years. Let me harken you

(03:17):
back to the year twenty thirteen. Something that I talked
about on the air when I have filled in for
Mark Simon and also on this very morning show that
in the year twenty thirteen, there was a Washington Times
report that talked It was actually in an op ed,
but it made headlines and it was re published in

(03:37):
twenty twenty four in the New York Post. By the way,
so you can google this and look it up. And
this goes back to twenty thirteen when Obama was president. Apparently,
when Obama was president, there was a class of thousands
of air traffic controller candidates and under Obama, Obama wanted
to set aside a certain number of positions for air

(03:58):
traffic controllers, specifically for people of color. Okay, admirable. That's
a good thing, because you know, unfortunately over the decades
you had a system whereas if you had if you
were in any shade other than the alabaster you need
not apply. I get that. That's fine. But when you
do that and say, let's set aside these jobs, even

(04:19):
though we need thousands of air traffic controllers right now,
we won't hire these eleven qualified air traffic controllers. Instead
of hiring these eleven hundred or thousand or two thousand,
Let's set the jobs aside and wait until the time
comes when we get eleven hundred or one thousand African American, Hispanic,

(04:40):
Native American, whatever, and then they will get the jobs.
When you need air traffic controllers right this second. That's
not what you do. And unfortunately that's what was done
for at least anywhere from three hundred to one thousand positions.
They were literally set aside. Again, it would have been
fine if they allultimately hired those three hundred five hundred

(05:03):
people of color, but they didn't. That is so. If
you recall when there was the Washington crash, the Washington,
DC air crash with the helicopter, President Trump said we're
looking into something that could have been connected to DEI,
and everybody freaked out right away. He's blaming DEI. What
he meant was he wasn't trying to suggest that somebody

(05:26):
who was non white was at the radar and they
had something to do with it, or that the pilot
who was flying the plane was a female and she
had something to do with it. That was not the suggestion.
You have to then harken back to the article in
the Washington Times in twenty thirteen. Was what he was
referring to was, then, what is being investigated from my

(05:47):
sources behind the scenes is when we needed hundreds, if
not one thousand, air traffic controllers to replace people retiring
back in twenty thirteen, what had happened was instead of
hiring this incoming class of mostly white qualified air traffic controllers.
And I only say qualified because they passed the exam.
In fact, they passed three hundred past the exam perfectly,

(06:09):
they were given a second exam under the Obama administration,
and in that second exam they were asked questions like
what sport did you excel at in high school? What's what?
Were you ever a pilot? Were you ever an air
traffic controller? And if you said yes, I was a pilot,
Yes I was an air traffic controller, you actually had
points deducted from you, which is insane because the point

(06:31):
was The thought, ostensibly in the act of that second test,
was let's try to ask are you a minority who
it may have been discriminated against? Without saying are you
a minority who may have been discriminated against? So let's
ask leading questions that might give us an answer based
on stereotype that happened under the Obama administration. According to this,

(06:52):
Washington Times up ed that they have never denied. It
has never been denied, and so as a result to this,
we are short hundreds, if not one thousand, air traffic controllers.
Which is why you have these overworked people, and you
have a system that is crumbling nationwide because these people
can barely cover a shift, let alone think outside of

(07:13):
the box. These people are working fifteen sixteen hour days,
six day weeks. They're burned out. They're burned out, and
we're relying on them to safely get our planes in
and out. Guess what I got news for you. In
this era of AI, we could sit down and put
together a system relatively quickly. In fact, many of the
computer giants are saying, hey, give us a couple of weeks,

(07:35):
we'll get together and have a system. We just have
to input the data from all the airports and the
idea that this is happening to harken back to it
is just absolutely ridiculous. And you have Secretary of Transportation
Duffy's saying we're going to revamp the system. But again,
this is something that could take a while. But anyway,

(07:55):
we'd love to hear what you have to say. By
the way, you could leave a talk back if you
go to the Iheartraate radio app and click on wire
there's a little red microphone at the top. Click on
that and say, Ken, you don't know what you're talking about.
Bring Larry in here right now, go home, or say
you know what, Ken, You're right, I read that article.
Let us know what's the thing. Also, did you have
you been following what's going on in Newark with the

(08:18):
mayor of Newark, Rosparaka. I do a show in the
state of New Jersey for a channel called on New Jersey,
and so we cover New Jersey news very very let's
say we're on it ros Baraka. You didn't hear a
word from ros Baraka until he declared his candidacy for governor. Now,

(08:38):
all of a sudden, if an envelope is opening in Totawa,
New Jersey, ros Baraka is present. So, of course, when
the federal government under Obama used the very facility in
Newark that is at the center of controversy right now.
Obama used this to house one thousand migrants years ago.

(09:00):
Not a peep out of ros Baraka and his buds.
Not a peep. Then it was used by Essex County Jail,
which is right next door, was used by the jail
as a halfway house. Not a peep from anybody on
the left. Fast forward to the Trump administration. Orange Man
bad comes in and all of a sudden, we have
an issue. Oh. One of the issues is they're trying

(09:21):
to say that six of the plugs, six of the
electrical outlets don't meet code. Why because somebody, some person
who is being held kicked the plug plate and as
you could bring an electrician in and how to fixed
in twenty minutes. But they're trying to cite silliness like that.
Oh and somebody apparently vandalized the electrical components on the

(09:42):
gate at the front. So somebody in the dark of
night just put a hammer to it and they're truns.
You see, this doesn't meet code. This is what the
mob did years ago. This is ridiculous, and they're trying
to say as a result, this building doesn't meet code
and they're demanding access to go in and show the
horrible conditions that people who are or who are migrants
illegal migrants would be held under. This is a facade,

(10:04):
This is a joke. And if Ross Baraka were not
running for governor, you would not hear or see a
word about this. It is now coming up on six sixteen,
seven to ten. Woar the Voice of New York. It's
Ken Rosotto. Larry is having car trouble. Maybe we'll check
in with him in a little bit. My thing is
always carry a little extra gasoline in the back. Or

(10:25):
if it's a tesla, you put your tongue up to
the positive and negative terminals and see if you get
a spark on your tongue, and then you know. If
you don't do that, don't do that. No wonder what
I'm kidding it. It is now six sixteen, Hey, New York.
At Cardinal Timothy Dolan is just back from the Vatican
after taking partner conclave that chosen American and as Pope.
He will be coming up with us next to talk

(10:46):
on Pope Leo the fourteenth seventy ten.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Wor Okay, well, we're having some technical issues here with
Ken Risotto, but we do have a very special guest
on the phone who I don't think thought he would
be speaking with me. We do have Cardinal Timothy Dolan
on this Morning live from Rome, and as we try
to get Ken up, we're going to say hi to

(11:10):
the Cardinal good morning or yep, it's still good morning
there for you, isn't.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
It it's a little afternoon.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Oh yes, six hours?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
This is this is pretty wild for me. Thank you
so much?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Is this is this Natalie?

Speaker 2 (11:25):
This is Natalie. I know we were just speaking.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
You're a fair You're baton third after Larry and Ken. Huh,
I can't believe it's to speak with you, Natalie. I'm home.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Well, well, we do have a little New York love
for here, and I think and might be back up
testing one too.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Hello can you hear me? Hello?

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Hello?

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Good morning? Are you hey?

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I tell you Natalie tell Ken to go back.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Well, I'm just glad I got to speak to you
for a moment being ne.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Ken.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
What what happened to Larry? Well?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Do you know what I called some of my people,
and I said, listen, you see those two tires in
the front, Just a little pin in the front, and
he'll be off today. No, no, no, no, Cardinal's he'll
be fined. Larry had a little car trouble with his
duke car, but I'm sure he'll be in along a
little bit. But you're you're eminent. It's so good to
have you on and I know you're in one of
my favorite places on the planet. You've had a busy

(12:24):
couple of weeks. By the way, if you haven't gone
to breakfast yet, you know, I mean, I know it's afternoon.
There there's a place called Cafe della Camari, which I
highly recommend.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Well, you know there's another one here Ken called Home Baked,
which has American breakfast which aren't bad, and I've learned
to find it. I can get some pancakes, eggs, bacon,
not bad at all, not as good as Yark diners.
But anyway, I miss you, guys. I'm homesick. I've been here.
Now it'll tomorrow it'll be three weeks since I departed

(12:56):
from my beloved New York City for Rome for the
funeral of Place Francis, and then of course to stay
for the preparations and then the conclave and of our
now already beloved Pope Leo the fourteenth, And I decided
ken the formal they call it the Mass of inauguration.
I mean the minute he says at the sixteen Chapel

(13:17):
at cepto, after he's after the ballots have been counted
and shown to be in his favor, the Cardinal Dean
says to him, You've just been nominated as Supreme Pontiff
of the Roman Catholic Church. How do you respond? And
the minute he says that cepto, he becomes the successor
of Peter, the Bishop of Rome, our holy father of

(13:38):
the pope. So he's officially been pope since said, but
the formal Mass of inauguration will come this coming Sunday
in Saint Peter's Square at ten in the morning. Tough
for you guys to cover, but I thought i'd better
stay for that. It'll be an honor to pray with
and for him. I want to show him all the
support and enthusiasm that I can. So I'm going to
stick around and then come back a week from today.

(14:00):
Is that all right?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
That works? Cardinal? I'll have to ask you just between us.
Nobody else is listening as you and me. Okay, you
obviously got to cast one of the votes. Did you
vote for Leo? Listen?

Speaker 3 (14:14):
I know your ratings, and it probably is between you
up for you and media.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Honestly, I have to, for real, I have to ask
you for a serious question when you want you're obviously
you've been through several of these now as cardinal. Does
it still send chills down your spine? When you bet.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
It does, kid, I've only been through one. I was
there twenty thirteen after the the surprising resignation of Pope Benedict,
the conclave that elected Jorge Bigolio, the Archchristiono of WAITI said,
Pope Francis, so there's only my second one. But you're right.
I was kind of looked upon now as a senior
because I'd say eighty five percent of the cardinals and

(14:58):
the conclave were rookies. So yeah, but you are correct.
It still does not fail to I mean the whole thing,
ken just walking into the Sistine Chapel, being there in
prayer and doing the votes, and when he went over
the required eighty seven to win that we just all

(15:20):
burst into tears when he said at Chep through the
tears continued when he went in, by what name will
you be chosen? As? Will you be called? Was the
next question. When he responded, LEO, we were all kind
of surprised, or wasn't one of the names one would
have thought of, but it makes eminent sense. Again, the
tears continued. He goes into the corner room to change

(15:42):
into the white robes. They bring out the chair that
the Holy Father in which he sits, which had been empty.
We use that Latin term sade vicante empty chair at
the death of a poem. They put it in the
center in front of the altar, and then he comes
out of what they call the room of tears. He

(16:02):
comes out clad as the new Roman pontiff. And we
cried again and no, you know, we were all of
a sudden reduced to kind of like kids on Christmas morning.
And it does not fail. And then I tell you, ken,
you watched it, you guys reported it well it Then,

(16:23):
of course, when we then process out to get to
the square, we're there when we hear the cardinal deacon
tell the crowd, how Amus Popham, we have a pope
which sends up this towering eruption of applause and exuberants,
and then of course the minute he walks out, it
goes on and on and we're just again, We're like

(16:45):
kids opening Christmas present. It was an exhilarating experience.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Well, we got about ten seconds left that I have
to ask one quick question here he is. He has
shown I think that he is as centrist as centrist
can be, because he has he has uh of course
coming out with with the mozetta, when he came to
the balcony, to the loggia, and when he's when he
prayed in Latin, when he prayed in Italian. He just

(17:11):
he seems to be reaching out to everybody, and I
think I haven't heard a negative word from a lot
of people, even laps Catholics.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
You're falling in love.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
With this man.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Let's let's hope that could last. And I think you're
onto something. Ken he is. You know he used the
word a temperate, a moderate. Uh. He's just kind of
a measured, shy, simple, humble, thoughtful, sensitive, listening tella. We've
all fallen in love with him. Obviously we would ever
he wouldn't have gone out on the balcony. But I
think you're on target deck yet he's winner well.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Our fingers crossed and our prayers for him and for you.
We want you back safe and sound asap. Will be
looking for the installation Mass and God bless you, God
bless the College of Cardinals, and of course God bless you.
I'm a lifelong Catholic. I will keep praying for him.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
You bet your Awnren. Thanks to all the hometown crowd Mission.
I highly appreciate all the assurances of prayer and support.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Thanks you're Eminen's Timothy Cardinal Dolan live from Rome. Thanks
for being on seven to ten war On all right, fantastic, Wow,
that was beautiful. And now it is six thirty. It
is time for Larry Kowsky in for Jacqueline Carl with
the Newsy.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Good morning, Ken. We have fifty seven degrees and clear.
At six thirty Dan Alexander is coming home. Hamas says
it will release Alexander, the last American hostage being held
in Gaza. The twenty one year old native of Tenafly
could be released as soon as today. In a statement
on Sunday, Hamas said Alexander is being released to help
reach a ceasefire agreement the Union representing locomotive engineers for

(18:43):
NJ Transit and officials of the transit agency. Or in
Washington today, a fel mediator will try and help resolve
a contract dispute ahead of a threatened strike that could
come as soon as Friday. Expect more flight delays and
cancelations at Newark Airport today amid ongoing equipment and staffing issue.
So tell the communications out of yesterday led to a
forty five minute ground stop. And where is Victim three?

(19:07):
The prosecution and the sex trafficking trial of rapper Sean
diddy Combe says a key witness identified only as Victim
three has gone missing. Jury's selection is expected to wrap
up today, followed by opening statements and ken. A new
AI tool can tell your biological age just by scanning
a headshot. The tool is called face age. Research shows

(19:29):
the humans age at different rates based on genes, stress, exercise,
and habits like smoking and drinking, and face age promises
the same results as genetic DNA tests. Using just a
selfie gott to pull those pictures offline.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
I think.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
That sounds frightening. I would come up one hundred and
thirty seven. I don't know, especially if.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
They'd like use one from like six thirty in the morning.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Right, oh man, that that is frightening. My goodness. You
know there's a recent why in television we have like
pancake makeup. There is a purpose for that. You don't
want to see us without it? All right, Larry, thank
you so much. It has happened again. The screens go
blank for the third time and ten days in Newark
Liberty International Traffic Control. We're going to talk about the problems,

(20:15):
solutions and how we got in this dangerous mess. Next
and don't forget you can leave us a talk back
all morning long. Go to seven Ted War on the
iHeartRadio app, click the microphone when you are there. Put
seven to ten woar on your presets. Plus you could
win a limited edition Minty in the Morning t shirt
which will be awarded each day to our favorite talk
back of the morning. Can brazattowin for Larry on your

(20:35):
Monday at seven ten woar. I had a very good
Monday morning. A beautiful day in storm Man. If you
like spring summer like weather, you got today as your
perfect example. Sunshine, highs near eighty degrees throughout much of
the Tristate area. Right now it's only in the fifties,
so you're going to need a light jacket if you
head it out the door. Six forty one is at

(20:56):
a time seven ten woar, excuse me? Have that morning
Monday morning? Wait Italian we call that. I don't care
a little. I don't get trop you know.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
What I mean.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
We're going to take your calls at eight hundred and
three to two one zero seven ten, eight hundred three
to two one zero seven ten. We want to hear
you give us a call right now because we've got
lots to talk about, especially one of the things that's
on everyone's mind. If you live in New Jersey. Pardon,
I gotta do it again. I live in New Jersey.
I've lived in New Jersey for twenty three years, and

(21:26):
I love the Garden State and normally love Newark Airport. However,
we've been having some issues, so of course over the weekend,
we once again had issues at Newark Aviation officials had
to order a ground stop yesterday morning. It was the
third such incident in two weeks, the FAA saying that
there'd been a telecommunications outage. They called it a hiccup burps.

(21:49):
I don't like to hear burps when it comes to
trade con and bringing in my jet if you know
what I'm talking about. But they had this apparently happening yesterday,
telecommunications outage. It impacted communications and radar at the Philadelphia Traycon.
Traycon is the center where they track incoming planes and etc.
For regional airspace. And you think, why the heck do

(22:11):
we have it in Philly. Well, if you think about it, ostensibly,
in this era of computers and modern technology and remote
broadcasts and things like that, you could have traycon anywhere.
You could have air traffic controllers. And I'm sure this
is in the back of their minds. You could have
an air traffic controller working out of his or her
home and doing air traffic control. And I'm sure that

(22:33):
will be something that Sean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary, i
am sure has on his plate as for a backup
plan in the event in the future you have somebody
calling out sick. Can you do air traffic control from
your house? Maybe that's something they'll discuss. But the bottom
line is Traycon, because of computers, could be anywhere. Well.
That works when you have modern equipment when you're dealing

(22:54):
with antiquated, and I mean decades old technology. We're talking
computers that have floppy discs. I think I have in
my mother's basement, of not kidding, a nineteen eighty nine
I to eighty six computer. Those of you who are
computer geeks, you know what that is. It's like basically
adore weight a two eighty six with a floppy disc.

(23:16):
I think I had a four was a five in
a quarter inch and two and a half inch disk
drive whatever they were three and a quarter inch. I
figure what the sizes were, and that's what they are
running some of these computers on. So what they're doing
when they have computers go out there going on eBay
and replacing parts and getting pieces of a.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Grip, That's what I wanted to ask about that because
I thought to myself, you could you can't buy thisque anymore,
you can't find pieces. How are they even continuing to
operate on this?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
People who are throwing out old computer equipment ntalie on
EVA where they're just getting rid of it for pennies
on the dollar. Every time that happens. If you see
somebody buying it on eBay, chances art's the US government.
Oh my goodness, I am crazy, and that's what.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
We really have a flight to book and I am
I'm going back and forth. Do I go out of Newark?
Do I chance it? Do I feel comfortable with it?
Should I try a different airport? You know, I live
in New Jersey. It's not convenient to go with the
E three airports. It's just frightening.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
The one blessing we do have living in the Tri
State is there are airports we don't even give consideration
to a lot because they're smaller regional airports. You can
go to fly out of Stuart Stuart, which is a
little more of a drive, but it's a great airport
that's in the Hudson Valley, that's near Poughkeepsie. You go
up there if you want. I mean you think, who
wants to go away up there? It's like an extra
half an hour forty minutes. It's not that much further out.

(24:34):
You can go out of west Chester Airport. You can
go to Long Island to MacArthur Airport Teterborough if you
want to catch flights there. They're great. We have options
that other parts of the country do not have. So
I would advise going online and taking a look at
some other options instead of just the big three, just
in case. So if you want to fly, especially in Florida,

(24:57):
a lot of these regional airports have those as options.
I mean, look, I am convinced that Secretary Duffy is
on this. He lives in New Jersey. He flies out
of Newark all the time. That's his home airport. You know,
he's going to get stuff done. But something as big
as this can't be fixed in a day. Something like
this is going to take a while. So that's the
only problem. So in the meantime, if you're planning on

(25:19):
flying out, I don't make plans. I'm supposed to fly
out in Newark in a few weeks. We're going to Europe,
and I'm terrified. You know, we're going to get there,
wait three days to get out, you know, But as
long as as long as it's done safely and right now.
They say that they have a backup system that is perfect,
and that they're just reducing the number of flights into
and out of Newark. Doing it that way, they can

(25:39):
manage even with a reduced number of air traffic controllers,
et cetera. But they're talking about cutting back on the
number of flights per hour, believe to forty six. And
with that number they say that everything will be just fine.
Fingers crossed. We just don't want to hiccup like happened yesterday.
Three in a row and in a couple of weeks
is unacceptable in twenty twenty five. And we just want hey,
you know what. And I have friends of mine who

(26:01):
are liberal who say, hey, you know what, if Biden
was in power, you'd be screaming Mayo Pepe. You're right,
I would be screaming Mayopete. And I am screaming right
now on my own show I do in New Jersey.
I'm screaming that. That's not that's my Jersey. Guy.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Is is that your liberal voice?

Speaker 1 (26:16):
That was my liberal New Jersey. That's my union liberal
New Jersey voice, Right, they Rossotto, I'll give you rosatto.
I'll get over. Hey, you I can do that. I'm Italian.
Don't be offended anybody. But yeah, that's so. But I
get it, And you're right. And I had friends over
the weekend saying you would be the first one to
insult and make fun of and call names, et cetera.
And you're right, I would. And yes, I am pointing

(26:37):
my finger right now. No one could see it, but
I'm pointing my finger. Well, Natalie, you could see it.
You're looking at the camera. I'm pointing my finger at you.
Secretary Duffy. I respect you. Get this done or else

to seven to ten wor click on the little red
microphone and leave your your opinion or ask a question.
Feel free and at our time now six forty seven,
the Trump administration is able to broke or cease fire
between Pakistan and India and issues an ultimatum to Russia

(27:21):
for a ceasefire deal with Ukraine. We're going to talk
about both next. Be every good Monday morning too. It's
nice to be in Larry. You've got a little car trouble,
so I told him, listen, you got to put the
oil in the carburetor on the left side. You put
it on the right side. You get smoke and this
is the he does an a listen, Larry, I love
him like a brother from another mother, But you got
a list left side with the garburetor Larry seven ten

(27:42):
WR were taken to calls Natalie, Uh, I know, I'm goofy,
I'm sorry eight hundred and that's okay.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
I'm sure he's not laughing right now, but he hopefully
you will later on.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yes, you could look back on this as a humorous
memory eight hundred and three to two one zero seven
ten eight hundred three two one zero seven ten seven
ten WR. We'd love to hear from you. Well, you know,
we're laughing about this stuff, but serious stuff we had
in the last few days between India and Pakistan. For
anybody who knows the history between India and Pakistan, what

(28:15):
is now Pakistan used to be part of India when
India got its independence. It was all part of one
big land. But a lot of people who were in
Pakistan or what is now Pakistan were Muslim and much
of the rest of India was I think ninety something
percent of the rest of India there was Hindu and
they had a little section in the south that was Christian.
Mostly Catholic, actually in the very very south, because that

(28:37):
was influence from the Portuguese and the Spaniards who had
migrated their centuries before. So when they had the division
and Pakistan became its own country, it was primarily over religion.
Now you know how that goes over the centuries. When
you have religious divides, they get very serious. There's a
lot of anger, and there has been a very tense
relationship between India and Pakistan for decades and decades and decades,

(29:01):
and probably before the lines were drawn, it probably existed
for hundreds and hundreds of years. Now we have what
could have been a potential disaster. I mean, from what
we're understanding, Vice President of Vance got on a plane
with his wife and flew over to speak to the
Prime Minister of India because of apparently a very serious

(29:22):
incident or some very serious information that he had gotten.
They're not getting into detail. Probably it's a good thing
that they're not getting into detail. But there was something
that irked him enough to get on a plane and
just fly over to India to talk to the Prime minister.
So when it gets to that point, you got to
wonder what was going on. Now, reminder, both India and

(29:45):
Pakistan have nuclear weapons. Uh huh, so that's a very
important thing. They are both nuclear equipped and lots of them.
By the way, and contemporary and intercontinental is Our vice
president is very close ties to Indy. His wife is in.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Just so you know, Ken, we were having a little
bit of problem. I think we're hearing you again. Ah
or maybe not, maybe we're not hearing him again.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Do you ever wake up one Monday morning think to yourself,
maybe I just want to go back to sleep. That
could be this Monday morning for us anyway. So Kenny,
you're there with that.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah's free, Yes, all right. I don't know what's going on.
It's just I think it's my brain a short circuit. Anyway.
The bottom line is we had Vice President Events doing
the right thing, getting on a plane, flying right over
on Air Force too with his wife, flew right over
to India and met with the Uh. Things look calm now.
So the border situation, there's a ceasefire that was declared
between Pakistan. New Delhi has opened all of its airports.

(30:56):
There are now delayed talks, but they will occur. Pakistan
shares on their share index and their equity markets in India.
They have now gone up because they were crashing the
other day as a result. And apparently there's going to
be a special parliament session for India's opposition conquests to
jump on what's going on. But you know, this is

(31:18):
a very tense world. I think once we got a
new president in the United States and you had a
situation where the world is shifting, I think everybody from
every country, no matter where you stand, everybody's looking to
make a move and to see where they can go.
And you know, I think under this administration, they're going
to realize very quickly don't try anything. So when you

(31:43):
see something happening, I mean, not for anything. But if
this was a Biden administration six months from now, they
would have considered sending the twenty seventh most important envoy
to India to try to calm things down. Here. The
Vice President of the United States got on a plane
and flew over immediately. And what happened in immediate cease
fire and we've got talks happening. So that's a very
good thing. That's the way things are handled under this

(32:04):
administration versus the previous administration. We've got a beautiful sunshine today.
If you like a sunny day, Heck, there's gonna be
a data get near a shoreline. It's probably cold by
the shore, but at least they take a look at
the beautiful water. Sunshine hies near eighty degrees today, so
take advantage of it before the rain comes back. And
we got a lot going on in New Jersey. The

(32:25):
Newark Airport, of course, is an absolute mess. The Mayor
of Newark gets arrested after a campaign stunt that went
a little too far. We discuss both with award winning
New Jersey columnist Mike Kelly. It's coming up after the
seven o'clock news
