Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning to you, and thank you for being here
this morning. Always appreciate when you tune in. I know
you have choices, and thanks for choosing us In the
Big three. Eric Adams is officially out of the race.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I cannot continue my re election campaign. The constant media
speculation about my future and the campaign finance boys decision
to with whole millions of dollars have undermined my ability
to raise the funds needed for a serious campaign now.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Mom Donnie responded by attacking Eric Adams. Andrew Cuomo praised
Eric Adams' decision. We're going to see how this affects
the race in the next set of polls coming up.
It is going to be fascinating. I think that Cuomo
is going to get a bit of a bump, probably
not enough to overtake Mom Donnie. We do have Republican

(00:58):
candidate for mayor, Curtis with his reaction at nine oh five.
Is he thinking about dropping out? I very much doubt it,
but we'll ask them after a new poll shows that
New Jersey race for governor right now is tied. It
is followed by another's scandal for Democratic candidate for governor,

(01:20):
Mikey Cheryl as military records show that she was disciplined
for covering for others who cheated on their final exams.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
She was not allowed to participate in her graduation ceremony,
she was punished by the Naval Academy, and saying that
she was covering her friends is code for a line
to investigators. And so she needs to come clean and
she can very easily do that by approving the release
of her disciplinary records, but she won't do that, which
strongly suggests that she'll continue to lie about this issue.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
I will say this, she hasn't really denied anything. She's
just kind of attacking as the other Democrats are. They're
attacking the Trump administration for releasing this, but investigative reporters
have looked into it. They think it was accidentally released.
By the way, Cheryl has already been reprimanded by Congress
for using her position to enrich herself with lucrative stock deals,

(02:13):
so she's got some explaining to do. Meanwhile, a study
of the brain of Park Avenue mass shooter Jane Timora
shows he did, in fact suffer from CTE that he
got from concussions playing football.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
It certainly could be a contributing factor, and to me,
when this happened, I thought, like so many in my field,
that there's really an ever increasing urgency for us to
look more into this relationship between hits to the head
and a likelihood for violent behavior and mental illness.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Later on in life, former FBI director James Callmy is
charged with two federal charges for lying that the Trump
campaign colluded with the Russians in the twenty sixteen president campaign,
and then he went to social media to plead his case.
My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but

(03:08):
I have great confidence in the federal judicial system and
I'm innocent. So let's have a trial and keep the
faith and Giants fans have something to watch, something to
be excited about. Jackson Dart. His era has begun.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Here's a run again by Dark First Utende taken in
his first coriol touchdown.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
How much chimes hun Top, The rookie quarterback leads the
Giants to their first win of the season over the
Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, we just talked with Warner Wolf,
who was saying, hey, listen, he didn't pass for that
many yards. He didn't he won. He won. If he
can keep winning, Nobody's going to care how many yards

(03:51):
he passed for all Right, Now, let's talk about the
National Guard going into cities. So the numbers in Washington,
D C. Are stunning. Crime came down. One of the
big things that happened there that was so heartwarming is
all of the missing children that were found. So just

(04:13):
having all of those federal investigators in town, they're going
to be uncovering crimes. They're going to be arresting people
who had warrants out them for a long time. The
National Guard, everybody focuses on, right, because that's what you see.
So they think about the National Guard like it's an invasion.
It's coming into town. They basically stand around. They are

(04:35):
a deterrent. They're to show you that there's a new
sheriff in town. That's what they're there for. That's really
they the police take over. They help the police. The
police make all the arrest The National Guard is just
there to prevent something from happening. But in Washington, in Washington,
d C. When they were there, they didn't arrest anybody.

(04:59):
They didn't even really take action against anybody. It was
always the police. The National Guard was there as backup,
and that's what's gonna happen in city after city right now,
and right now as we speak, National Guard, federal resources
are being moved into Memphis, Tennessee.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
President Trump understands that cities like Memphis need federal resources.
He understands what the city needs and has committed those
resources to us.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
That's the governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee, and like he's excited,
he loves that this has happened. It's gonna make him
look good. Now the mayor is a Democrat, he's not
as excited, but you know what, he's sort of like
Muriel Bowser was in Washington, d C. He's not blasting
the president. He's saying he'd rather this not happen, but

(05:53):
you know, deep down inside, he's thrilled that this is happening.
He's thrilled that crime is going to come down in
his city because in the end he gets to run
on that. So every one of these cities where you
hear people going, oh, no, no, we don't want them,
we don't want them, except possibly Chicago, because that Brandon

(06:14):
Johnson is a wacko. He is way out there, so
he may think that way. He is so infected by
left wing politics because it is a disease. It is
so infected by that that he can't even see straight,
or speak straight or think straight. So he may really
believe it, but everybody else secretly thinks this would be

(06:38):
a good thing if it happens to their city, because
they're specifically going after crime, and they're going after criminals,
and they're getting bad guys off the street. That's why
Bill Lee in Tennessee is so excited.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
The story of crime in Memphis.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Is about to be a story of the past. Yes, exactly.
The resources are immense when they start coming in again.
It's not just the National Guard, it's thirteen different agencies,
and the crime fighting techniques they have are so far
advanced to any city in the country.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
When you've seen the images, you've seen what's happened out
of Chicago yesterday. The rioters weren't even bringing a handgun.
That individual was arrested, as were about nineteen other individuals
arrested for obstructing justice, for trying to prevent these vehicles
from getting into the ice detention facility, in for assaulting
our law enforcement. We're not going to put up with it.
This administration is not playing games.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
That's who's next. Chicago. After all of this time of
Chicago saying we don't need you, it's not us. They
had protest in the street that turned violent, and they
turned violent against ice officers, and that is a federal offense.
Anytime you do that, you are going to have a

(08:03):
problem because you're going to spend a long time in jail.

Speaker 8 (08:07):
President Trump says, zero towers. The Attorney General nine is
test says zero towers. The number of prosecutions for one
to eleven are sky high, record highs, and they're gonna
get higher if they want to. If they want impede ice,
they're going to go to jail. That's I mean, I can't.
I can't think the better thing to say to them,
and the more the more factual thing to say to them.
If you impede a federal law enforcement officer, that's a
violation of federal law.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
You will be prosecuted. There will be National Guard troops.
I don't know if all of the federal agencies that
are going to Chicago, but there will be National Guard
troops now in Chicago specifically to protect federal buildings and
ice officers. So they're going to be there. There's going
to be soldiers there just to protect those areas. They're

(08:50):
not going to get the full Monty the way that
Memphis is, but Portland may because they had protesters there too.
That's the other city he's talking about. So we're he
wants to do this across the country, there's no question.
But I'll tell you what the people of Portland say.
Wait a second, Wait a second, Wait a second. Our

(09:10):
protest was peaceful. You saw pictures, You saw people out
on the street. We didn't make any arrests.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
We have armored vehicles on the streets of Portland and
reported agents throughout our community.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Right, they're already there. They're already there, and they're and
they're very upset about this. And now of course they're
coming up with theories that are just absolutely bizarre, because again,
it's all democratic politicians in Portland, and they've had horrible
incidents in the past with these protests. So in their mind,

(09:46):
this is Donald Trump doing this.

Speaker 9 (09:48):
The President has sent agents here to create chaos and
riots in Portland, to induce a reaction, induce protests, to
induce conflicts. His goal is to make Portland look like

(10:09):
what he's been describing it as.

Speaker 7 (10:11):
Well.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Wait a second, you just said a moment ago. It
was peaceful. So how did the agents now stir things up? See,
it's just lying, it's constant lying. A brilliant child just
foiled a kidnapping. Brilliant because of the way she did it.
We'll explain, plus tickets to see David Burnet Radio City. Next,

(10:34):
I'll tell you what the story of this little girl
who basically saved her mother's life by just being clever
is amazing. I'm going to get to that in just
about thirty or forty seconds, But first, your talkbacks take precedent.
Thanks so much for leaving them. Go ahead to the
iHeartRadio app. Look for seven to ten WR and the

(10:55):
talkback feature. You can talk about anything that we've been
dealing with today, including ICE.

Speaker 10 (11:03):
I heard Adam Carolla say this weekend that Trump likes
to change the name of some of the agencies. He
should change the name of ICE the Immigration Custom Enforcement.
He should make it the National Immigration Custom Enforcement. And
then the media will have to say the nice agents
are picking up the immigrants, The nice agents are raiding

(11:26):
the home depot and have a big sign on their
back that says nice Sea.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
That's brilliant. I hope he's listening. That's a tremendous idea.
Thanks for sharing that.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
I am going to add a stooge to Warner Wolf's
three stooges. And I think it should be the lady
on the plane that lost forty thousand dollars worth of items.
I'm telling you, if I get on a plane with
forty thousand dollars worth of items, I'm not letting them
out of my sight. I mean, I'm not letting forty

(11:59):
dollars items out of my sight on a plane. So
she should be stooge number four.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
And the thing about that, this is the story we
played a while aback when she was taking forty thousand
dollars worth of jewelry family heirlooms to a niece's wedding
to show them to her and give her one of them,
and then she put them on the overhead. I guess
the stewardess did, or the flight attendant. Excuse me if
you don't say stewardess anymore. The flight attendant did several

(12:26):
rows back and they were taken. And I you're right,
You're exactly right. What was she thinking?

Speaker 9 (12:34):
Right?

Speaker 11 (12:34):
And I mean I would have even said, you know
when she said okay, you know we're going to put
it a couple of head I would say, excuse me,
there's some extremely valuable things in here.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I need to have it in my sight.

Speaker 12 (12:47):
I mean, I would just say it or I don't
understand why you just wouldn't pack it in your you know,
your handbag or someplace that you could put it under
your seat or just keep it in your pockets or
strap it around your chest.

Speaker 13 (12:58):
I don't know what you were doing.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
No, no brand, or sit in your lap or put
it out even if you put it under next to
your feet. That it's crazy. The story makes no sense.
You know, that was the first time she ever left
with that. She never took it out of the house.
And this is what happens.

Speaker 14 (13:17):
The only next step that makes sense is for Cuomo
to get out. There's no difference between Cuomo and Mandani,
none at all. Why is Cuomo still in the race.
I don't care Curtis is gonna lose. I don't think

(13:38):
Cuomo is a choice period.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Man. Yes, such a great voice. I love that deep
voice every time he calls. I think there's a huge
difference between Cuomo and Mom Donnie. And he's not going
anywhere I will tell you this. This story of this
little girl is just amazing. So her mother had been

(14:03):
basically kidnapped and beaten by a man, twenty nine year
old Glen Ruy Miller, and he wanted to make sure
there was no suspicion that everybody thought everything was okay,
so he let her daughter go to school. She got
on the bus and she had written on a note

(14:25):
called nine to one one, and she handed it to
the bus driver, and the bus driver probably and the
little girl saved her mother's life because they showed up.
They found out what was going on. The woman listening
to this had suffered serious injuries, including broken ribs a

(14:45):
punctured lung, and she wasn't able to call for help
for herself because she was bound. Wow, a brief kid,
Isn't that incredible? That's just an incredible story. Now. Jacqueline
Carl with the eight thirty.

Speaker 15 (14:59):
News, Larry, the FBI is on the scene of a
deadly attack on a Mormon church in Michigan. It happened
Sunday morning in a small community about fifty miles north
of Detroit. Four people plus the shooter were killed and
several others injured. Authority say, forty year old Thomas Sanford,
an Iraqi war veteran, plowed his vehicle through the front

(15:20):
doors of the church and started shooting. He also set
a fire before being fatally shot by responding officers in
the parking lot. And other candidates are reacting after Mayor
Eric Adams announced he's dropping out of the New York
City Mayor's race.

Speaker 16 (15:34):
After facing very low poll numbers with five weeks to
go until election day. Mayor Eric Adams is waving the
white flag.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
The constant media speculation about my future and the campaign
finance boys decision with whole millions of dollars have undermined
my ability to raise the.

Speaker 16 (15:53):
Funds, needing Andrew Cuomo hoping to benefit from the mayor
dropping out.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
If he is not actively campaigning, that changes the entire
dynamic of the ricks.

Speaker 16 (16:02):
Democratic front runners are on mom Donnie, I.

Speaker 9 (16:04):
Think he spoke the truth when he called Andrew Cromo aliar.

Speaker 16 (16:07):
I'm Skafpringle wrd's all right, So if you're having breakfast,
may I recommend you stop for a moment for my
next story.

Speaker 15 (16:16):
According to Oddity Central, oh I am so open to
like alternative medicine, but now this is really. People in
China are selling their fingernail clippings online as ingredients for
traditional Chinese medicine. For example, a woman from some province
I can't pronounce was selling her fingernail clippings for about
twenty one dollars for roughly two pounds of clippings. Companies

(16:40):
that make traditional Chinese medicine are reported by nail clippings
from schools and villages, then washdry and grind them into
powder that get that gets mixed into medicine. I'm off
Chinese herbs.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Now, that's it.

Speaker 15 (16:54):
No matter what thing and say like you could do
something like you could grow another couple of inches or
live twenty years longer. I'm like nail clippings, that's a
hard pass.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
You're a big Chinese herb person, are you.

Speaker 17 (17:07):
Well.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I'm open to all that stuff, you know.

Speaker 15 (17:09):
I have tried those, and I've tried like different kinds
of herbs and supplements like you know, I go through phases.
I have to write my mind around it. But this,
this is a hard pass for me now that I
know that, because how well could they wash them? And
no matter how much they washed them, I don't want
them in my Chinese medicine.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, and there's all that, but also you to do it.
You got to commit to that. You know what I mean,
You've got to be good. It's saving your fingernail and
toenail clippings. Okay, hold on, just go back.

Speaker 15 (17:40):
How much money were you getting for two pounds twenty
one bucks after you've saved two pounds, I know, your
lifetime of nail clippings.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Maybe she had a problem.

Speaker 15 (17:53):
She's just taking her whole Famili's now. I don't know
what's happening over there. Don't ask me. No, it's not
gonna happen to me.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
I'm done with a story. I've told you all I know.
Let's move on. Yes, thank you now, Jacqueline. That was
Jacqueline Carl. Thanks so much, Jacqueline. Congratulations to Ellen Thomas
from Manhattan, who just won a pair of tickets to
see Talking Heads frontman David Byrne October eleventh at Radio
City Music Hall. Congratulations Ellen. Tickets on sale at ticketmaster

(18:26):
dot com. You get another chance to win tomorrow at
eight twenty five. Could Eric Adams dropping out reshape the
race for mayor? Is it possible we won't have mayor zorin,
Mom Donnie. Political analyst j C. Polonko weighs in on
what's next and who stands to gain. iHeartRadio Music Festival

(18:51):
for reformer Creeden's Clear what a Revival. Lead singer and
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty joins Bobby
Bones on a new episode of The Bobby Cast to
take a deep dive into the stories of the origins
of CCR and how the band's name came about. Plus,

(19:12):
John tells us the story of how he wrote classics
like Proud Mary and Fortunate Son in mere minutes. Check
out the new episode of The Bobby Cast on the
free iHeartRadio app today. When last we spoke with J. C. Polanko,
political analyst and University of Mount Saint Vincent assistant professor

(19:34):
and attorney, he was saying, get used to saying Mayor
zor and Mom Dannie. It doesn't look like anything's going
to change. If everything stays the same as it is
right now, he is going to be the next mayor
of the New York City. Well, things have changed, things
changed in a big way. The current mayor has dropped

(19:56):
out of the race. So now I look to J C.
Polonko for new hope that maybe maybe this is the
way to stop zorin Mom Donnie and the Mom Donnie
train from taking over the city. J. C. Polonko, You say.

Speaker 17 (20:14):
What, maybe maybe there's a lot of maybees, Like maybe
maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and look like Josh Allen.
Who knows, right, I could be six, five to twenty.
I don't know, I don't I don't know. Everybody. Oh
damn it, there we go with the numbers again. You know,

(20:34):
But the reality is this, the factice the Calkaiist has changed.
Now you have the city mayor who made a tough
decision in getting out of the race, leaving behind the
traj trove of voters, shortened the tingle digits and some
of the polls. But those voters are going to look
somewhere else to vote. Which one of these candidates is
more in line with Mayor Adams. Look, May Adams for

(20:56):
all of the you know, the things that we've been
reading in the press, you know, the guilty in the
Court of public opinion verdict that has come out against
Mayor Adams. The city is much better off than when
he found it. Crime is lower, unemployment is lower, there's
great job development in New York City, there's no housing
than ever before, So he's going to leave that mark.
Those voters are looking for a home. And when you

(21:17):
think about the candidates that are left, if you're a Democrat,
you know that it's Andrew CMO's your candidate. And I'm
sure there's going to be some that are going to
go to Mamdani. You're going to go somewhere with mister Snewak.
But this is good news for former Governor Cuomo. The
question becomes, can he really galvanize as many of those
guys as possible to come and support him in November.

(21:39):
It still leaves him behind Assembly minimum Donni. So these
next few weeks are going to be very very important
for former Governor Cuomo to make a push into Democrats.
He needs to remind Democrats of full Assembly minimum Donni
really is by focusing and doing a contrast on this
man's candidacy. Now, remember your listeners are thinking about mister Sleewak.
Licious Lee was hoping for the following I've spoken to

(22:01):
Missus Steve who he's been on my program as well.
Missus Steed was hoping for a plurality of voters to
support him. Now, how does this happen. He's currently pulling
at around fifteen to seventy percent. He's raised an enormous
amount of money, He's opening campaign offices across the city.
He is hoping that Democrats fight it out him, that
they split the vote between Assemblymen and Donnie and Cuomo
and Republicans stayed loyal to him, Independence come to him

(22:22):
and he wins with a plurality. This is becoming difficult.
So at the end of the day, the next polls
are going to matter. The next polls are going to
be critical for missus Steewalk. If he's in the low
teens and mister Cromo's is pulling very high, there's going
to be a big push for him to drop out
of the race, which he has said he is not.
He considers dropping out to be a failure, a test

(22:42):
of his manhood. I know he doesn't want to drop off,
but this is gonna be a lot of pressure across
the city that we may have a socialist takeover of
city government if then polls come out and don't have
them at number two and he decides to stay.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Now I'm depressed again because the scenario you just laid
out seems implausible. Actually, the part where you say maybe
governor former Governor Cuomo can galvanize voters. The word galvanized
and Andrew Cuomo don't see eye to eye. I can't
see that being used as a sentence to describe Andrew Cuomo.

(23:17):
I actually have been really disappointed jac in the campaign
he's running and the energy he puts into it. He
seems like he's lost his fastball. Do you agree.

Speaker 17 (23:29):
I think that it's difficult for him to try in
the next couple of weeks to have a modern light
campaign that could go toe to toe with the subnime
milam Donnia on social media, especially when the press is
like against the guy. But we got to remember he
is dealing with running as an independent in the city
where there are two out of every.

Speaker 18 (23:48):
Three voters as a Democrat, and it appears to me
that a lot of the local presses rank defense for
Submi Milamdani becomes increasingly difficult. When I mean galvanized, I
mean politics strange Bedfellows, Larry, and if former Governor Cuomo
is able to remind Republicans that they can hold their
nose and support them, so there's not a socialistic over.

Speaker 17 (24:09):
A city government. Well, that's something that some Republicans are
going to have to think about doing, especially if they
if missis see Will comes back into single digits. This
is an opportunity for mister Croomo to make some real
effort to get Republicans, independents, and those disaffected Democrats, especially
Adams voters, to come to him. So, look, only he

(24:29):
can do it. If he cannot figure it out, he
should drop out and let missus Steba try to figure
it out. But this is the issue that we're dealing with.
About eleven percent of New York City voters are Republicans.
That's dismal. These are not the old days. These are
very new days where New York City is more liberal
than ever before, more Democrat than ever before, but at
the same time, it's also most unaffiliated than ever before.

(24:51):
About one in five voters in New York City is
an independent like me. So you have a lot of
opportunities out here to connect with independent voters and try
to remind them that you are going to the anti
socialist candidate. There's a lot of contrast to make Assemimum
Donny lacks the qualifications to be the CEO of New
York City Government. If missus Lee were mister Crmo pressed
on that hard, the fact that you have a three

(25:12):
hundred and fifty thousand employees, a budget of one hundred
and twenty billion dollars one point one trillion dollars GDP.
What in Assembly minimum Donnie's records show that he has
the experience to be the CEO of New York City government.
And when you're going to come across as nothing fifty
percent absence rate in New York City Assembly three bills,
what does that mean? It means nothing to me. You

(25:33):
have a staff before what are we talking about? Ticktock sentation. Yeah,
this is going to be the message that he has
to bring in order to win in November. Both of them.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Well, now you gave me hope again. That was pretty good. Hey, listen,
I agree with you one thousand percent about the media.
They should be ashamed of themselves because they seem to
be working for Mom Donnie and they want him to
be mayor. And I don't think that's going to change.
And that's a tough thing to run against, to run
against or in Mom Donnie, and to run against the media.
And for some now let's see what they do with

(26:03):
Andrew Cuomo. It'll be really interesting to see what happens.

Speaker 19 (26:06):
J C.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Polanco, political analyst and University of Mount Saint Vincent assistant
professor and an attorney. Always great. Look forward to seeing
you on TV. I saw you. I saw you out walking.
It was the first time I didn't see you behind
the desk. I saw you out walking doing an interview.
You look great, you know.

Speaker 17 (26:22):
I try to tell people that I'm just as tall
as Josh Allen, so I like to sit down during
tea the interview, so nobody seeds me standing all five
eight of me. I liked it.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
It looked good. I thought it was excellent. Thanks a lot, JC,
I appreciate it. Talk to you again soon. Now let's
hear what New Yorkers are saying about Eric Adams dropping
out and where those supporters that supported Adams might turn next.
That's an extremely important question. W o r's Natalie Migliori

(26:51):
hits the streets with her Beat on the Street. Coming
up next.

Speaker 20 (26:56):
Now it's seventen w OARS Beat on the Street with
Natalie Migliori.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Saw Real Bombshell and the Mayor's Race. The current Mayor
Eric Adams drops out of his re election bid. How
do New Yorkers feel about that? Let's get the Beat
on the Street with Natalie Migliori.

Speaker 21 (27:15):
Good morning, Natalie, Yeah, Good morning, Larry.

Speaker 17 (27:18):
Well.

Speaker 21 (27:18):
Could have been a quieter weekend in New York City
was made eventful by Mayor Eric Adams, who announced he's
suspending his reelection campaign. That came out in a pre
recorded video, it seemed, with a picture of his mayor,
of his mayor, of his mother sitting by his side.
As he made this announcement, he was in a picture.

(27:39):
He was sitting on stairs and he said he's no
longer running. Really no shortage of reaction from New Yorkers.

Speaker 17 (27:46):
I think it's a good thing.

Speaker 20 (27:48):
He couldn't win.

Speaker 13 (27:49):
People don't want him, so might as well step down.

Speaker 19 (27:52):
I certainly wasn't going to vote for him, so you know,
he probably made the right decision since he's like nowhere
in the poll.

Speaker 22 (28:00):
I mean, well, it changes something for me because I
was actually going to vote for him. So now I
don't know where I am as far as to vote
is concerned.

Speaker 14 (28:08):
Oh.

Speaker 13 (28:08):
I voted for him the first time, but there were
so many clouds over him.

Speaker 22 (28:12):
You know, you're judged by the people you surround you
yourself with. So yeah, I could not vote for him again.

Speaker 21 (28:20):
After legal scandals, clearing house in the middle of his administration,
and now saying he is not receiving matching funds to
support his campaign, the mayor leaves behind a race of
three candidates, Republican Curtis Leewat, Independent Andrew Cuomo, and Democratic
nominees or On Mom Donnie. It seems the former governor

(28:41):
of New York, Cuomo has more convincing to do.

Speaker 19 (28:45):
Cuomo is just the same old, same old. I think
he's kind of disgusting. Actually, I don't think he was
a great governor. The way that he harassed all those
women and everything. I mean, why would I vote for him.

Speaker 21 (28:57):
He's not going to go for me because I'm a
woman of a I can't trust him.

Speaker 22 (29:01):
Actually, you know the funny thing, I'm torn between Siwa
and Fimo because I feel like they're the most experienced.

Speaker 21 (29:11):
Yeah, now compared to previous street interviews that I've done.
You know, we've been covering this throughout the year, even
since February when nobody knew Mom Donnie's name. Now he's
the front runner New Yorker is not as quick to
shoot down Curtis Slee wants candidacy today.

Speaker 20 (29:28):
Curtis Slee has been around forever. He knows the city
wants to clean the streets. He wants safe streets, safe subways.

Speaker 13 (29:35):
He's been about but he never gets a chance, so
it's not going to happen.

Speaker 22 (29:39):
I can laugh about his bandana all I want, but
he doesn't have any sketchy background, you know what I mean.
So if you really waited out, he's against this migrant situation.
He's really about fixing, you know, quality alike, because this
is what we're missing here.

Speaker 21 (29:54):
When she says bandana, you know he's the Red Beret,
the Guardian angel of course. And that woman named seven,
Actually we had a whole discussion. She really had to
talk through what she was looking for in a candidate,
and I think she kind of reached it in her
conversation with me, which I thought was really interesting. Now,
several polls show mom Donnie is still the front runner,

(30:15):
and at least one person told me today that he
is their candidates. However, all three candidates remaining are set
to take part in a forum tonight at the Apollo
Theater and New Yorkers know what they want to hear,
like mindedness.

Speaker 17 (30:28):
The people's concern issues, you know that we're dealing with,
you know, homelessness, and you know, as far as like
the immigration thing, that should be something that should be addressed.

Speaker 22 (30:38):
My main issue is migrants. My issue is is mental illness.
And nobody's talking about the mental illness. And that's one
of I don't hear anybody whoever thoughts look at mental illness.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
They get my vote, you know, like.

Speaker 19 (30:50):
The affordability of the city. You know which is which
Mom Donnie is addressing only a.

Speaker 13 (30:55):
Certain base vote in New York City, same as the primary.

Speaker 20 (30:58):
People say they don't like this one of that one,
but they don't vote, so you get whatever the Democrats
put up.

Speaker 21 (31:06):
We'll see what happens. I mean, that's sort of negative
outlook on it, and we'll see if anybody changes anybody's mind.
In this first forum tonight between the three remaining candidates
and you know, Larry, it seems the mayor may have
missed the deadline to actually have his name removed from
the ballot. So that was May thirtieth with the New

(31:26):
York City Board of Elections. So some voters may actually
still be confused if they're not paying attention to the
news cycle that he's he still might be on the
ballot his name, but you're not vote for him, it
doesn't count.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yeah, I'm really surprised. I'm really surprised. First of all,
it's great everybody was involved. Everybody knew about the candidates.
Everybody knew about the election. That's wonderful because that hasn't
always been the case. I also think they were extremely
thoughtful in their choices. They seem to know how important
this race is. But the fact that in our talkbacks

(32:02):
and in your beat on the Street, Curtis Slee was
name keeps coming up as a stronger candidate now is
really encouraging. And we're going to be talking to Curtis Lee.
We're coming up and we're going to tell him about that.
I think he needs to be reinvigorated because of your
Beat on the Street and because of the people that

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
