So you got a hurry. Auction ends this afternoon at
two o'clock. Hunger than dot org slash iHeart. Now let's
get to the big three. In the Big three, of course,
the biggest story right now is that NASA County Executive
(01:45):
Bruce Blakeman, who just won re election as county executive,
announced that he's going to be running to be the
Republican nominee to take on Governor Hokeo in the fall.
He did so on Fox News. Now he's going to
be running against to become the nominee against congress Woman
Elise Staphonic, who announced weeks.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Ago, we don't have coronations in our party. We're not
like the Democratic Party that had a coronation for Kamala Harris.
How did that work out for the Democrats? Competition is
a good thing.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
So the socialist is going to live in a mansion. Actually,
he's a socialist that lived in a mansion all his life.
His family was very rich and in Uganda. I don't
know if you saw the mansion that they showed when
he went there for his wedding, but wow, it is
some mansion right on a lake. Socialists or and mom.
Donnie though, has decided after he said he was really
(02:43):
torn about it whether he was going to do this.
He's going to live in Gracie Manson mansion after all.
The reason for extra security because you know he was
getting death threats.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
I get threats on my life.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
It makes sense that he's moving to where all the
main live historically, but I don't doubt where his loyalties line.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
The pre trial hearing of Luigi Mangioni drags on much
longer than most evidentiary hearings. This is like a trial
before the trial. That's exactly right, That's exactly what it is.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
It's a mini trial and we're on witness number seven.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
I think of twenty five twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
The Minnesota fraud case continues to grow. Members of the
state's large Somalian immigrant community defrauded the federal government of
at least a billion dollars as Governor Tim Walls just
looked the other way, and now the Trump administration is
looking into it.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
We believe that the Somali fraud operation in Minnesota is
the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars through welfare fraud
in American history.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Later this month, on December twenty ninth, Benjamin Netanyahu is
going to be traveling to America to meet with Donald Trump.
In the meantime, they are ending phase one of the
peace plan. Let's talk to that. Let's talk about that
with Jordana Miller, ABC News correspondent in Jerusalem. Well, it's
(04:12):
morning here. Good morning to your Jordana, and Jordana tell
us where we are right now in getting through phase
one here, it's close to the end.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
We are close to the end, Larry, because there's really
only one Israeli hostage body left in the Gaza strip.
All the others have been returned. As you know, those
twenty living hostages came out, which, by the way, still
feels like a miracle to many Israelis. And the searches
are going on in Gaza City, Hamas and the Red
(04:47):
Cross and others looking in, you know, parts of central
and northern Gaza. For that last Israeli he was a
policeman on October seventh, Ronkvilli, he was actually in and
not like on duty, but like many Israelis, ran down
to the south to try to help and defend one
(05:07):
of the communities there and he was killed in a
firefight with Hamas. So once his body comes back, and
israel Is a pretty confident that they're going that Hamas
is going to be able to find the body. So far,
the Israeli intel on the bodies, you've seen almost all
of them come out except Ron. So that's good news.
(05:29):
Once that body comes back, that is the completion of
Phase one, right, which was supposed to happen in the
first seventy two hours, but everybody knew it would take
several weeks to get all the bodies. Now now you know,
the Israeli Prime Minister says he's coming to marl Ago
right to see the President on December twenty ninth, and
(05:52):
they are going to discuss moving into Phase two. And
Phase two is really the critical phase. I think it's
where President Trump's peace plan for Gaza either you know,
lives or dies, right, because these are the major issues
that will set down and create a new reality for
(06:16):
Gaza if they're if they achieve right, if they reach
the goals and some of them, you know, just to
lay out what we're looking at in phase two, it's
everything from Hamas disarming, right, which is a big issue,
to getting that International Stabilization Force into the Gaza strip,
what's their mandate, you know, what's their command chain like,
(06:41):
and who makes up that stabilization force and setting up
a new police force which will also replace Hamas right,
and then of course the governing body, right, this technocratic
government that's supposed to be set up without any Hamas
representation and overseeing by this East Board right where President
(07:03):
Trump will be in the United States will lead overseeing this.
I mean, these are huge, huge issues that will take
I think several months to sort out. And one of
the big questions is, you know, are there going to
be pieces of all of these bigger issues that get
implemented at the same time, or are they going to
(07:23):
focus on one issue at a time, and it looks
like it's going to be the former option.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Right.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
All the pieces are moving, and we may see, you know,
some part of the police force come in before the
governing council.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Right.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
It looks like the President is trying to get you know,
whatever is ready to go, he wants to implement it,
and he's not necessarily creating an order or a priority
or a hierarchy. Of course, the most sorny issue will
be disarming Hamas. And we've heard really contradictory statements coming
(08:01):
out of Hamas, right, some leaders saying we're not going
to give up our arms. We'll never give up resistance.
For example, that's what Colin Mischall, one of Hamas's senior leaders,
said over the weekend. And then in a you know,
the AP was reporting from their visit with another top
HAMAS leader in Doha that they're willing to freeze or
(08:21):
hold their arms for perhaps up to ten years in
a kind of ceasefire. So what we'll have to see
there's a lot of work for the Americans, right, for
President Trump's team, for the Israelis and regional partners, and
only the beginning of this will start in late December
(08:41):
and mar A Lago.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Wait, now, the Hamas thing is a big deal, not disarming.
Can anything else happen if they don't agree to disarm.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
Right, Well, that's really a terrific point, right, It's hard
to see. And this is what even you know generals
will tell me, you know, behind closed doors, right, really
on background, which is that there's a growing assessment really
that nobody is going to come into the Gaza strip,
(09:13):
not a police force, not a not a stabilization force,
not a new government until Hamas has been defamed, right,
because they don't want they don't want their people being
killed by Hamas.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
Right.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
So a lot of President Trump's plan hinges on Hamas disarming.
So that's going to be a really critical issue. And
if they you know, and the other question is how
long is President Trump going to give Hamas to start
that process? Three months? Six months, nine months? And the
(09:48):
Israelis are saying, hey, Hamas is you know, clearly trying
to take back the streets of Gaza. They're killing people
like their their rival militia's they killed the head of
you know, the Abu Shabab of militia that is anti
Hamas long before the war and worked with the Israelis.
(10:08):
They killed him and he was the head of this
militia and they're killing other people right and they're trying
to take control back. So the Israelis are arguing, we
need to we need to fast track Hamas is disarming
that the process to disarm Hamas, we need to set
up the mechanism we need to begin because otherwise, you know,
(10:29):
Hamas is going to be back in control of that
other fifty.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
I think that's what everybody's concerned about. Your Dana, we
have to check in with you again to find out
how things are going. Your Dana Miller, ABC News correspondent
in Jerusalem, You're the best. Thank you and thanks. I'll
talk to you soon. An incredible home Christmas display on
Staten Island that raises money for a great cause. We'll
hear from the man responsible. Also Rascals holiday tickets coming up. Well,
(10:57):
let's get for your suck facts. Thanks. You've all been
great today. We only appreciate it. You make the show.
Just go to the iHeartRadio app. Do you look for
the seven to ten WLR section and then you'll see
the talkback section. You leave us a message and we
play it on the air.
Speaker 7 (11:14):
Larry, nobody's talking about this. The casinos one point five
billion that mcdonmie's getting. That gives him the power, it
gives him a capital, and it makes him the de
facto governor. He's got all the he's gonna have all
the cards, so he can do a lot with it.
(11:37):
So it'd be curious to see how bad this city
really gets.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
It's gonna be interesting. I gotta break that down. Thanks
for bringing that up. That's that's really an important issue.
You're You're exactly right. I just wonder how much money
the city is getting from those casinos. I know they're
getting some of the money, but I think that most
of the money it's gonna be going to the state.
But it's worth looking into, I promise you I will.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
I've been a registered Democrat for many decades now, and
Kathy Hochel is just a week week governor and I've
been advocating for at least a Phonic for many months now,
and I know that she would do such a great
job at cleaning up New York State. But now with
Bruce Blakeman coming in, it makes it more interesting. I
(12:24):
still feel that Alista Phonic would do much better.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Against Kathy Hochel.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Oh, it'll be more fun to watch. She is an
absolute pit bull. I just I want the one that
has the best chance of winning. And we're going to
see some polls coming out. And I know a lot
of people are don't like polls and don't believe they
mean anything. Trust me, they mean a lot. They mean
a lot about on media coverage, what we cover, They
(12:49):
mean a lot. When it comes to campaigns and messaging,
they do mean a lot. Whether they're all or not
doesn't really matter. They're going to be here to stay.
So I do want to see what the polling says, specifically,
not head to head, but which candidate does better against
Kathy hokel Larry.
Speaker 9 (13:09):
When people bring macaroni salad and ruin it with peas
and tuna or some kind of other vegetable, just give
me my macaroni.
Speaker 10 (13:21):
Yes, crazy, I'd love to see his plate at the
end of the night, just all the vegetables picked out
in a little pile over the side.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Tuna in your macaroni salad not not.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Working for me. No macaroni perfect. I know it is perfect,
just the way it is.
Speaker 10 (13:39):
Yes, And if.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Anybody wants to see what the tuna tree that Roy
O'Neil was talking about. Just jump on Facebook or Instagram
and we put it up on our stories. Bring that up, No,
he brought it up, Yeah, the tuna tree.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah. So please leave us a talk back about the
things that people bring to your holiday gatherings that you
look at and go, yeah, what is that? And especially
that was a good one, because there are perfect things
that are messed up because people try to do something
extra to them.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Exactly because tuna fish salad is great, not a tuna tree.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Data salad's tremendous, macaroni salad's tremendous coleslaws and tremendous. It's
all good exactly the way that God meant it to be.
You don't have to play with it.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Well.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
This is the time of year, of course, when people
do up their houses and some people outdo others. There
is a wonderful story in Staten Island and it's Joseph
di Martino's famous Lights for Life Christmas display. And he
did it. He did it after nine to eleven, the
(14:52):
year after nine to eleven when his wife died in
nine to eleven, and he's been building on it every year.
Now looks like something that you'd see at Disneyland. It
is amazing.
Speaker 11 (15:05):
This wonder land started on a very small scale the
year after September eleventh, and I swore each and other
year to add to this display. And as it started
to get bigger, I said, you know what you have
to make something would come out of it, and I
teamed up with Staten Island University Hospital Pediatric Cancer.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah, and listen to how much he raises ninety thousand
he wants to raise this year. Last year he raised
eighty two thousand uses. It is incredible and people have
responded like you would not believe to it. And what
a wonderful, wonderful one oh seven Sharon's Road in Charleston
if you want to go there in Staten Island. One
(15:44):
oh seven Charlotte's Road in Staten Island. And God bless you,
sir for what you do. Now let's get to Jacqueline
carl with the eight to thirty News.
Speaker 9 (15:52):
Jacqueline Larry NASA County executive Bruce Blakeman is officially running
for governor next year. He released a video this morning
that describes the Republican is quote a strong leader with
a proven track record of delivering the change we need
to put New York first. Now, this set up a
primary between Blakeman and upstate New York congresswoman at Eastaphonic
Stephonics campaign released a statement blasting Blakeman by saying, after
(16:16):
a career of colluding with elected Democrats, Blakeman Swansong is
choosing to prop up Kathy Hochel. Hockel says if there's
a Republican primary, it makes it much more entertaining for
her and accused United Healthcare CEO Luigi Mangioni will be
back in Manhattan court today as a multi day pre
trial evidence suppression hearing continues.
Speaker 12 (16:36):
Mangioni's defense lawyers argued in court on Monday that police
in Pennsylvania made up a story about a possible bomb
as a reason to search Luigi Mangioni's backpack without a warrant.
Inside that backpack, prosecutor say there were several notes of journal,
a knife, credit cards, a passport, and the alleged gun
used to kill CEO Brian Thompson. Mangoni's defense is trying
(16:56):
to get that evidence tossed from the case because his
lawyers argue and Jonie's rights were violated when he was
arrested in Altuna, PA a year ago. I'm Scott Pringle WRDWS.
Speaker 9 (17:06):
And there's a bear apocalypse problem in Japan. According to
Sora News, the bear problem in Japan has not only
caused a lot of fear, but innovation as well. A
Japanese company is now selling automatic doors designed to keep
bears out of businesses, with more bears wandering into stores
and other spaces by simply walking through the automatic doors,
(17:27):
Some businesses had switched to manual doors instead, but that
created problems.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
For people with disabilities.
Speaker 9 (17:33):
The new mirror door connects to smartphones via Bluetooth and
only opens automatically for people who have the app installed.
And since bears can't use smartphones, they cannot trigger the door,
leaving the inside of the business bear free.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Who knew this was such a big problem in Japan?
Speaker 11 (17:51):
Not me?
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Anybody ever heard about that.
Speaker 9 (17:54):
I mean, these bears just like strolling into the Japanese
walmarts and pottery barns and whatever, just coming in.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
That would be a problem. Bears are obviously an issue everywhere.
I just saw a story about the bear hunting Florida.
It's first time I think they've ever done it. And
what's happening is that the animal activists are buying up
the licenses and then you know, tossing them away so
people can't because they only need so many licenses, or
they're offering money to buy their license back from people
(18:24):
who have bought it, and some people it was like
two grand. Well and they're like fine, here take it,
I'll take the two grand.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Wow. Yeah, and now.
Speaker 9 (18:32):
People will buy them just to get them money.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yes, absolutely, I'm stunned by jacqueline story though, because I've
always heard the bears don't like being around people that
they're going to run for people. Now they're shopping at Walmart.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Maybe they are getting comfy with us.
Speaker 9 (18:47):
Well, the economy's tough, so they need to get get well.
The getting's good.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Thanks a lot, Jacqueline. With the federal funds scandal unraveling
in Tim Waltz's Minnesota, it's fair to wonder what America
would have been like, What life would have been like
under Kamala Harris and Tim Walls, what if they had won.
We're gonna ask that question the best person we could
possibly ask her to, wr and Fox News host Jimmy
(19:14):
Fayla after the breaks are blocked out with well, let's
bring in Jimmy Fayla, WR host from nine to midnight
Fox Across America with Jimmy Fayla and host of Fox
News Saturday Night with Jimmy Fayler on the Fox News Channel.
He joins us every Tuesday at this time. And Jimmy,
I know you're from Levittown over in Nasau County and
(19:36):
the now the county executive out there, Bruce Blakeman, who
I'm sure you probably have run into and know he's
now running for governor. What are your thoughts?
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Well, I mean, listen, it's like when you see Kathy
Holkl on the ballot, like I'm thinking about running, everybody
feels like they should win.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
You know.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
There's this old funny Joe Chris Rock once told. He said,
when he's found out Jana Jackson was dating Jermaine dupri
every guy was like, damn, I had a shot, you know.
And that's the whole thing. When you see who this
state has married, you all feel like you can kind
of step in and break up the union. And I
think that's what this is a testament to. And I
(20:17):
will say this, I met Bruce Braklin here at Fox recently,
and he is a he's a fan of your favorite
Nasau Community College graduate, Jimmy Faylow. Really, I am very
intrigued by this.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I got one.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
I'm very intrigued by ye.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Maybe he'll ask you to be part of the administration.
Speaker 6 (20:34):
Listen, if he knows what's good for him. I would
be a great Albany press secretary.
Speaker 10 (20:41):
It would be the most popular press gathering ever. People
would go to every press conference.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
We would that that we could do because, like listen,
I don't have the looks to be a White House
press secretary like Carolyn Levitt Kaylee Mcananey, We're another class,
but you could stick me in Albany. He want to
do like one press for a month. You tell a.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Couple of jokes, like you remember remember when they did the.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
Dukes of Hazard but the actors were on strike, so
instead of Bow and Luke they had Koi and Vance.
That could be the Koi Advance press secretary.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Can we audition you right now? Can I ask you
a question and you answer it?
Speaker 6 (21:19):
Let's go all right, let's do this for real and
I'll have some fun go aheads.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
All right, all right, here we go excuse me. What
is what is Governor Blakeman going to do about casualist
bail and about bail reform? Is he going to keep
it or is he going to fight legislation on that.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
Well, the thing about Governor Blakeman is all of his
energy is behind protecting New Yorkers and their families. And
I think what he wants to throw his energy behind,
first and foremost, knowing what Kathy Hokel did to the
state is extra security for himself and his family because
this place is a dumpster fire. But once we get
that out of the way, you know, they say charity
begins at home. Once we get that out of the way,
(21:59):
you guys, you're gonna do a little DIY policing in.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
The meantime because of Mom Donny. But once you.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
Get mister Blakeman's situation squared away, we'll be right down
there to New York.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
To help out. Good job, good job, you got the job,
You got the job. Hey. I love Bruce Blakeman, but
I also really like Elis Staphonic, And so those two
are gonna have to battle each other to get the nomination.
Bruce blake Blakeman comes off a lot nicer than Alistaphonic does.
(22:29):
At least Stephonic is a pitbull, and I kind of
wanted to see her going up against Kathy Hochel like
she did during some of the congressional hearings. So I'm
really torn. What do you think about that matchup?
Speaker 6 (22:42):
Well, seriously, on a strategic level, it's easier for a
woman to attack Kathy Holkl because they can't deflect to
sexism like they're gonna cheaply do when Blakeman attacks her
on the merits. To be clear, he's a great guy.
He's not gonna go after her because of her gender.
He's gonna go after her because of what her policies
have done to all genders. But they're going to try
to do those those cheap straw mend defenses. So it's
(23:04):
going to be really interesting. But I think, you know,
the challenge is going to be in this primary, because
we're going to have like an actual primary, not like
we did for mayor where Cromo was looking at Florida
real estate and mom Donnie was making kiktok videos and
the next thing you know, we've got a socialist in
city Hall. The point is, whoever the Republican nominee is
they're going to earn it because they're going up against
(23:25):
a formidable opponent. So for that, I'm thankful and I
just gosh, you know, for this, for the sake of
this whole entire state, not just our city and Nasa
County where I grew up in Levittown. We really need
a Republican governor if Mom Donnie is going to be mayor, Like,
we really need this to work. So if those two
could just figure out how to pull this off, I'll
(23:45):
forgive whoever the loser is.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
That's a great point. We really need a Republican governor
if Mom Donnie is going to be mayor. Is a
wonderful point. Hey, do you have this fraud case going
on in Minnesota that might grow grow to two billion dollars?
Ill Omar might be involved in it. But Tim Walls
still has that face like he made an accident in
his pants every time he's on TV, and he did
(24:09):
not pay attention to this for seven years. He didn't
want to deal with it. I want to take I
want you to take us to a future that didn't
happen with Kamala Harris and Tim Walls in office. What
would the country be like right.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
Now, Well, if Kamala and Tim Waltz are in office
right now, we're about the ten month mark. We need
to have this conversation in Mandarin. If it's going to
be accurate. China would have taken over the country finan,
the border'd be overrun. You and I would be broadcasting
from a remote bunker somewhere under the old D train.
(24:49):
I don't know. I mean, the truth is, yeah, the
fraud would have been worse, the border would have been worse. See,
there's a lot of things Trump is doing right that
we're able to take for granted as Americans, like you know,
a good example would be border crossings. The border crossings
are now down to zero, which means no one's getting trafficked.
You know, kids aren't going missing, not as much fentanyls
coming in. Those are things we all benefit from and
(25:11):
we don't even necessarily see that every day, you know,
and that you know, even some of the things you
just passed no tax on tips that goes into effect
next year, so you haven't really seen the benefit yet,
you know, in your day to day, but it's common
and so you know, every time they send her out
on tour, I always try to clip it and play
it on radio. Tonight, I'll play some Kamala clips at
(25:33):
nine pm Fox across America, And I always grab him
from my TV show on the weekends because we do
need that perspective. You know, whenever somebody says Kamala twenty
twenty eight, I assume they're talking about our blood alcohol content.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
She's a nap.
Speaker 8 (25:49):
You know.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
It's funny. If I was Donald Trump, I would have
a picture in my wallet all the time of Tim
Walls and Kamala Harris, and every time I took criticism,
I just hold it up. I'd hold the picture up
and say this is what could have happened. And I
think you win every single argument that way, don't you.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
Yeah, whenever you get that kind of currency, I'll give
you a good example.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
I used to date a girl back in the day
for about seven or eight years who always used to
yell at me and compare me to George. Now I'm
using a fake name here, but she'd be like, why
can't you be more like George? You know, George did
this great thing for Marissa. George proposed with like skywriting
or having this glamorous wedding. Well, anyway, we went to
the nicest wedding in the world after seven years of
why can't you be more like George? And a month
(26:32):
into that relationship, George left her for another man. So
I finally had George in my wallet, and whenever he
would say something, I'd be like, oh, like George.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (26:44):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (26:44):
Yeah, No, you're right, I should be more like George.
I should probably get out of.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Here and go sing show.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Tunes on the Lower East Side karaoke bar with my
man Peek. And that's what Kamala and Waltz are for Trump.
They're his George.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
You're right. I am so.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
Wholeheartedly behind this. Now I'm gonna for you a job
in the Blakeman administration after I get mine.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Oh what's my job?
Speaker 6 (27:06):
I got to think about it.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Oh no, you can't come up with a job for me.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
That amazing.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
That's so insulting.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
I was trying to level with you, Okay, Okay, I
didn't want you to be insulted by this, because it's
a necessary job. Okay. Most any of us can do
right now for Albany is to go into Cuomo's old
office for Breeze it and kind of wipe it down
because you don't want to blacklight on You know, there's
(27:33):
a reason you always see hokal in like long sleeve
that she doesn't want her skin to touch anything he
left behind.
Speaker 10 (27:38):
Well, thank you, I know how job is. Oh, now
I feel proud. An incredible home Christmas display. Thanks a lot, Jimmy.
We'll listen tonight. An incredible home Christmas display is up.
But we'll get to that in just one moment. But first,
I don't even.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Know we're going to Natalie Bigley all right for the
Beat on the Street. Oh, she was asking people about
let's right, think about this governor's race that's building up.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Wonderful, Thank you for saving me.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
It's seventen w oars Beat on the Street with Natalie mcgliori.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
So the governor's race just got a whole lot more exciting.
County executive in NASA County, Bruce Blakeman is in the
race at least a phonic already in the race. Kathy
Hoak up for reelection. This is exciting, right, So I'm
sure Natalie mgliori's Beat on the Street has found a
lot of people that are psyched about the race. That
are talking about it, right, Natalie.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Yeah, Larry, and you're about to find out, you know,
because NASA County Executive Bruce Laskin. He's the second Republican
to announce he's buying to be New York's next governor,
comes after Upstate New York Representative at least to Phonic
announced her campaign been last month. We were out on
the street when she announced it that morning. They both
(28:58):
want to take on Democratic Governor Kathy Hochel. So are
people familiar with Blakeman?
Speaker 13 (29:04):
I don't know who.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
I'm not familiar with him at all.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
No, but I feel like Long Island is different compared
to the city in the borough. I mean, it's so Burrow,
but it's more open.
Speaker 13 (29:15):
Bruce Ringsteen Blakeman, No, never heard of him.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Have you heard of Bruce Blakeman before? No, he's a
Republican wants to run for governor.
Speaker 12 (29:24):
On the against the election is what next?
Speaker 13 (29:26):
Nov is she up next to?
Speaker 6 (29:28):
Okay, I've seen them running.
Speaker 13 (29:29):
Yeah, yeah, you know everybody's running right now.
Speaker 7 (29:33):
Everybody wants to win the race, but we want the
right person in the chair.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Well, I would first and foremost like to point out
that Long Island is not a borough, as somebody had said.
And secondly, it's true we went out when stephaniks first
launched your campaign and people knew who she was. Larry,
if you remember, people had things to say about her
that morning. So Blakeman might have a little bit more
work to do when it comes Toney recognition for people
(30:01):
around the state outside of Long Island or off Long Island,
but the name everybody recognizes. Kathy Hochel.
Speaker 13 (30:10):
To me, she did too much flip flopping, you know,
she was with this MTA thing that to me wasn't
really appropriate for the people. Congestion pricing wasn't a good look.
I don't live in New Jersey, but if I lived
in Jersey, I would not be happy with her. Congestin
pricing is just too much and time we living right now,
I think when I'm wanting to alone, no, but then yes,
because anybody else is not qualified to even be in
(30:32):
that position right now, because she sucks, Larry, A lot.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
Of New Yorkers were hung up on congestion pricing this
particular morning. Blakeman, who announced his campaign on Foughts and
Friends this morning, is running on affordability, doubting his record
of making NASA the safest county in America really always
makes that list, and keeping taxes flat during his tenure.
But with the mayor's race just wrapping up and the
(31:02):
new year not even here yet, is it too early
to start talking about the governor's race next year?
Speaker 13 (31:09):
Not necessarily, if we could think about it now and
put things in perspective and put them in place so
that we do get a decent governor, that'll help us out.
Speaker 12 (31:17):
I don't think so, because it's you know, before you know,
with the holidays will be over, and sometimes you need
tom to find out about the candidates and how they
stand on the issues.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
So no, it's never too early with politics.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
But you gotta do your own research besides seeing when
you hit the headlines to give the right decision to
vote for the right people that you want.
Speaker 13 (31:35):
So you gotta start early to know who's So it
is never too early to like get that conversation going,
all right, pretty.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
So there are some little excitement there. Maybe I piqued
some interest there, Larry. Maybe people are gonna do a
couple of Google searches, a couple of things searches.
Speaker 10 (31:51):
Now.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
Governor Hoppel has called Blakeman a quote Maga fanboy. While
he has called her of failure a lot of representatives,
you know, Stephanic also calls her the worst governor in
New York State. So they're kind of both running on
those lines.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
Now.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
New Yorkers are certainly paying attention to the issues throughout
the state and they just want someone who will address
what matters most cost.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
Of living, homelessness of course, and minimum wage.
Speaker 11 (32:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
Are you willing to listen to anyone though, to see
what they have to offer?
Speaker 6 (32:22):
A hoping for everything.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
I don't think political party matters more about like if
you get the right person in charge of the right
policies and if you're well formed when you.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Do a vote for them.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
Why do you think people feel like that they just
want something to change, right?
Speaker 1 (32:33):
That's my opinion.
Speaker 13 (32:34):
It depends on who it is. I mean, who do
you trust anymore? That's I think that's what it comes
down for the American people. Who do you trust? It
sounds good one day and the next next month it's like,
you know, a potastrophe.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
So well, Larry, I once heard somebody I want to
talk to somebody called the election cycle. It's like a
game of golf. It's very long, so we'll really see
what happens, who jumps in, who jumps out, and what
go and goes on. But there's definitely going to be
now a Republican primary to see who who goes up
(33:06):
against top.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Yeah, you know, you're exactly right. And people aren't paying
attention right now. And it's the holidays too, not paying
attention to much else except what they're going to get
for Christmas and what they're going to get somebody else
for Christmas and can they afford Christmas? So people aren't
paying attention now. It'll be like a month before the election.
Way do all the ads start hitting the air a
(33:29):
couple of months. We're into it, but really not that
many other people are into it. That's what you find out.
You're disappointed. I'm disappointed every time, but it's just the
way life is. Thanks a lot. Natalie Migliori is going
to be back tomorrow morning at eight point fifty. Well,
Donald Trump is making gas powered cars great again. In
National Reviews, Rich Lowry loves it. He's up after the
