Speaker 1 (00:00):
And nice to be with you.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
On a Friday, September twenty sixth, the last Friday in September.
Next Wednesday is October first. Already amazing, amazing. September just
went right by, and you are listening to Metty in
the morning. Larry has the day off.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
You may have heard me or seen me before.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
I fill in, of course for mister New York Mark
Simone from time to time when he takes the rare
day off. I used to be the TV news anchor
for years. I was on Channel five for about a year,
and then I was on Channel seven for twenty years
doing the morning show there. And nowadays I do a
morning show on a TV channel that covers the whole
state of New Jersey. It's called on New Jersey and
(00:37):
you could see it atnenjy dot com. That's what they're
doing today, Folks. You stream TV now, you don't have
to get cable, so you could stream us atnenja dot com.
And I run a food website called the food Dude,
and you could see that free of charge, Thefooddude dot us.
The food Dude dot us, we got tens of thousands
(00:58):
of recipes from all over the world, like we just
heard beautiful sunshine today. Heighs low eighties, going to stay
that way for a few days.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
We want to hear from you. Give us a call.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
You could call the phone line at eight hundred and
three to two one zero seven ten, or use the
iHeartRadio talkback feature. Open the iHeartRadio app. You could just
go to wor Radio and at the top you'll see
a little red microphone on the upper right. Tap on
that microphone and there'll be instructions. It's very simple, and
you can leave a message and tell us how you feel.
(01:30):
Our big three stories are Comy indicted, account of making
false statements and account of obstruction of justice, Jack Chitarelli
and Mikey Cheryl pulling neck in neck. And there's a
new military story, a little quasi scandal involving Mikey Cheryl
and Zoron. Mumdani wants to all but scrap gang the
(01:51):
gang database in New York City. But this coming just
after a thirteen year old was fatally shot by a
gang on Monday. So let's talk about those and we
want to hear what you have to say about it.
To start, James Comey indicted on two counts.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And now, of course we have what appears to be
an indictment. It is a seismic event. I mean, you're
talking about a former director of the FBI, and there
have been long allegations that that call Me was a.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Leaker, and that was Jonathan Turley, of course law professor
talking about that. It is a big deal, no matter
how you slice it. I know many on the left
are calling it political retribution from the Trump administration. But
there is video of call me Well allegedly lying to Congress.
This was him testifying before the Senate with the Senator
(02:42):
Cruz seventeen.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
In this committee, Chairman Grassley asked you, point blank, quote
have you ever been an anonymous source in news report
about matters relating to the Trump investigation of the Clinton
in investigation? You responded, under oath quote never. He then
asked you, quote, have you ever authorized someone else of
the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports
(03:08):
about the Trump investigation or the Clinton administration? You responded
again under oath No. Now, as you know, mister mccab
who works for you, has publicly and repeatedly stated that
he leaked information to the Wall Street Journal and that
you were directly aware of it and that you directly
authorized it. Now, what mister McCabe is saying and what
(03:32):
you testify to this committee cannot both be true. One
or the other is false. Who's telling the truth.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I can only speak to my testimony.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
I stand by what the testimony you summarized that I
gave in May of twenty seventeen.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
So your testimony is you've never authorized anyone to leak.
And mister mccab when if he says contrary, is not
telling the truth.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Is that correct?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Again, I'm not going to characterize Andy's testimony, but mine
is the same today.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
So that would only mean one thing. He's either calling
Andrew McCabe, the former deputy director of the FBI, a.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Liar, or he lied.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
It can only be like Senator cru said, it can
only be one or the other. Now, we had former
Westchester Keunty executive Rob Astorino on a little earlier this morning,
and Rob pointed out with his political astuteness as he has,
he's been in politics for many years. Rob pointed out,
the only thing that he has going for him Comy
does is that this is being educated in the Eastern
(04:30):
District of Virginia, which is a very liberal district for
US courts because that is suburban Washington, d C. So
you have all of the people who work in government
in Washington, d C. Tending to be more on the left.
They would be the people who would be part of
the jury pool who would sit in judgment of Komy.
(04:50):
So we'll see where this goes. But nonetheless, there's pretty
good evidence or else I think this grand jury would
not have handed up the two indictments. If he is
found guilty, by the way, he could get five years
in prison for each of the two counts. But again,
it all depends on the jury that is assigned to him.
Seven ten wore The Voice of New York Friday morning.
(05:12):
It's Ken Risotto went for Larry Menty on Menty in
the morning, and the big race in New Jersey for
governor has tightened. Jack Chittarelli, who's going to be on
the show, by the way, in about twenty five minutes
from now, so stay tuned for that, and Mikey Cheryl
are now pulling neck and neck. There was an internal
poll that the Chitarelli camp had commissioned that they released
(05:34):
the information of earlier in the week, and that internal
poll showed that for the first time so far this race,
Jack Chitarelli is beating Mikey Cheryl forty six to forty
five percent. Here's why that's so significant. Democrats outnumber Republicans
in the state of New Jersey by eight hundred and
sixty thousand. And people know Mikey Cheryl in New Jersey
(05:56):
because she's been a congresswoman for five years now. They're
well aware of who she is, so it's not like
they have to learn who she is to make their
decision on whom they're supporting. So the fact that Jack Chitterrelli,
whom they also know, so there's no surprise there. The
fact that support is now coming for him as we're
just six weeks out, is a significant thing. Yesterday, there
(06:16):
was a second pole that came out, the Emerson poll
with WPIX TV, and that poll shows them neck and
neck at forty three percent. So now the Chitterrelly pole
is not an outlier. Now you have two poles that
have them tied or Chitterrelly up by one point, and
we'll see where that goes. But the big story that
happened yesterday after the Emerson pole was that the Chitterrelly
(06:38):
Camp got a hold of and legally through someone else
getting through a FOYA Act Freedom of Information Act, getting
information from the Cheryl Camp of Mikey Cheryl's military service. Now,
she served honorably for ten years in the Navy. She
was a helicopter pilot. So this is not to be smircher.
(06:59):
I didn't serve in the military, and I sometimes regret that.
I honor anybody who risks their life and serves in
the military. So for that, you have to thank Mikey Cheryl.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
She did that.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
The problem is when she was in the Naval Academy,
which is a big deal. You know, honor is first
and foremost. And there was a big scandal involving kids
in the Naval Academy. I say kids to me, they'd
be kids in their twenties, early twenties or late teens,
kids who allegedly cheated on their final exams. Now Mikey
Cheryl is not accused of cheating on her final exam,
(07:32):
but she allegedly was aware of classmates who cheated and
she kept it quiet. And you know, I mean, if
you are aware of somebody committing a crime, for instance,
and we're not saying that that's a crime. But you
are an accessory at that point. If you keep it quiet,
that's like conspiracy. So the fact is she did not
(07:52):
say anything about it. You know, she didn't want to
write out her classmates.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
But she was not allowed to march in her graduation
and she was not listed in the graduation program as
a result. And her camp is now saying that that
information should not have been released. That was a lot
of personal information that was released with the Freedom of
Information Act. They didn't redact her social Security number, or
(08:16):
her personal address, her parents address, all of that, So
that has to be dealt with. But that doesn't answer
the question why did you not come forward with the
honor system that is at the Naval Academy and turn
in your fellow classmates. So that's going to be a
big issue. The Democrats, of course, are trying to make it. Well,
this information was obtained illegally, This was illegal with the
Trump administration. You're trying to obfuscate the question is what
(08:40):
it is? Answer the question, and we have to have
the Cheryl camp come and be more forthright. The best
thing she could do at this point is just get
on top of it. But Jack Terrelli, we're going to
ask him about that. He's going to be on at
eight thirty five. And Zoron Mamdani wants to all but
scrap the gang database in New York City, which has
(09:00):
helped the NYPD keep a track of gang activity. But
we just had a thirteen year old on Monday fatally
shot by a gang. He was walking to school little
after eight am. He was in front of a duncan
and allegedly a gangbanger shot. And this young man, a
kid thirteen shot in the head. Is life ended by
(09:21):
the stupidity of gang banging. And the question is how
will this affect the campaign? Because Zuraen Mamdani wants to
get rid of a gang database. Apparently he feels it's unfair,
it targets people of caller and this, that and the
other thing. Even Curtis Leeweather, Republican candidate, is saying that
the gang database needs to be managed because apparently people
(09:43):
who even change their lifestyle and get out of gangs
stay on that gang database and it's not necessarily fair
to them. So we'd love to hear what you have
to say. Give us a call at eight hundred and
three to two one zero seven ten. Or go to
the iHeartRadio talkback feature and tell us it's coming up
at eight sixteen now to topical cyclones could collide in
a rare Fujiwara effect, as it's called, and forecasters say
(10:05):
it could shift storm paths toward the East coast. Could
New York feel the impact. We'll check in with WOOR
Weather Channel meteorologists race stage. It coming up next. And
so nice to be with you on a beautiful Friday morning.
It's going to be gorgeous today, sunshine, highs, low eighties,
and we want to hear what you have to say.
The phone lines are open at eight hundred and three
(10:26):
to two one zero seven ten. Or you could use
the iHeartRadio talkback feature. Open the iHeartRadio app, go to
woar Radio and there's a little red microphone on the
upper right of the screen. All you got to do
is click on that follow the instructions. Even I could
do it, and I have done it. In fact, Natalie
will tell you I use the talkback feature at least
(10:47):
once every other week. They must say, all right, Ken,
we have other people here. You could leave a message
tell us how you feel. We'd love to hear from you.
And we had one person who used the talkback feature
a little while ago talking about the billboard we were
mentioning earlier. Jack Willan Carl did a story of a
woman in San Francisco trying to find her love using
a billboard.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
I liked the I like the billboard idea. I think
that's a great idea, you know, and for other reasons too.
I mean, you could use it for anything, if you
want to spend the money. For for instance, Mikey could
use a billboard to try and find another job, because
after November she's not going to have the governor's job.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Of course, he's talking about Mikey Cheryl, the candidate for
governor on the Democrats Saturday, New Jersey. By the way,
coming up just ten minutes from now, we'll be talking
to the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Jack Chidarelli. It is now
eight twenty five seven ten wo R. You know, two
tropical cyclones could collide in a rare fuji hoa waa effect.
(11:48):
I'm sure I'm mispronouncing that. So let's talk to Ray
stagic r wor Weather Channel mediorologists to find out if
this could pose a real danger to the mid Atlantic
and the Northeast coast.
Speaker 7 (11:59):
Good morning you, Ray Ken, Good morning and close enough right.
Fuji are effect really it's when two storms kind of
look like they're associated with one another, some say, like
dancing around, and eventually they may form a shared center.
Doesn't look like that's going to happen with what is
now Hurricane Alberto and the invest area, which is likely
(12:21):
to become a tropical storm and maybe a hurricane through
the Caribbean and eventually off the southeast coast. But that's
really what it is. It kind of looks like two
areas of low pressure that you know, kind of influence
one another, almost like they're going around one another and
eventually absorb into one and become one central point. But
in this case, doesn't look like that is going to happen.
(12:42):
Did happen back in the Pacific back in twenty seventeen
with a couple of storms in the East pac Hillary
and Irwin. Those storms did have a fuji are effect
in they combined and did become one, But in this case,
unlikely that that'll happen. Now Hurricane Alberto may affect path
and the track of what may become Amelda Pay attention
(13:05):
now to all these names, and it may influence by
pulling it a little bit further toward the east and
away from the southeast coast. We're hoping that's what's going
to happen, but we don't think we'll get a true
fuji are effect, at least not in this case.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Nonetheless, you should always be prepared. We always forget that
September October this is when we get into the peak
of hurricane season.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Right.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
We tend to think, oh, it's over, it's the summertime. No, no, no,
the water is warm now, right, and this is when
hurricanes tend to form more rapidly and large.
Speaker 7 (13:35):
Yeah, September the peak month, September tenth. So we're on
the down side of remember Helene. You know, we're suburting
the anniversary unfortunately of Helleen today for the Carolinas and tomorrow.
So you still got a long way to go. September
busiest month. October the second busiest month. And it looks
like right now, not only do we have the potential
to have two name storms, but even beyond that, it
(13:58):
looks like we may see favored of additions for more development.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Well, let's keep our fingers crossed. I know you'll keep it,
keep us updated. Race Stagic woor Weather Channel mediorologist. Thanks
for coming on about it this morning, all right, Ken.
Speaker 7 (14:09):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
It is now eight twenty nine, Jack will and Carl
has the news, all.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Right, Ken.
Speaker 8 (14:14):
James Comey says his heart is broken for the Justice
Department following his recent indictment. The former FBI director was
indicted Thursday for allegedly giving false testimony to Congress, and
a video posted yesterday, Colby said he's innocent and he
and his family will not live on their knees. Thousands
are expected to protest in march in New York City
today with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahoo set to address
(14:37):
the United Nations General Assembly.
Speaker 9 (14:39):
Protest organizers are calling on netan Yahoo to be arrested
related to war crimes in connection with Israel's actions in Gaza.
They are also trying to pressure UN member states to
put in sanctions on Israel and address the humanitarian crisis
in Gaza. Thousands of protesters, while organizers say many have
come from out of state. Demonstrators gathering in Times Square
and then a march to the area of you and
(15:00):
General Assembly. I'm Scottpringle wr news.
Speaker 8 (15:04):
Ken it is Friday at a thirty.
Speaker 9 (15:07):
Are you ready for.
Speaker 8 (15:08):
Real or fake news?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Headline?
Speaker 9 (15:09):
I am ready good.
Speaker 8 (15:10):
Number one teenager grows half an inch after six months
of growth therapy, shrinks back to original size.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Two weeks later. Oh, I would say fake. That is
actually real.
Speaker 8 (15:23):
According to odity Central, a Chinese teenager and his family
spend over two thousand dollars on non invasive growth therapy
for the boy for over a six month period, only
to see his small one point four centimeter gain in
height vanish within two weeks to no In surprise, a
medical expert from Peaking Union Medical College Hospital explain that
forced physical stretching is not scientifically proven to make you
(15:46):
permanently taller, giving the professional medical advice that quote, people
are not noodles.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
My name is Gumby dammit.
Speaker 8 (15:53):
Number two Russian company testing neuro implants for cows to
make them give more milk.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Mmm, I'd say that's true.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
It is.
Speaker 8 (16:03):
According to oddity Central, Russian tech Startupneri has become the
world's first company to implant neuro devices into cow brains
to increase milk production. They are claiming they are already
seeing improved milk yields from the cows, but they haven't
released any official data so far. Number three California State
Supreme Court rules on custody disputes involving imaginary childhood friends.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
That has to be false. It is. It doesn't have
to be, though, but it is.
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Number four a woman refuses to pay fine for transporting
a pony in the backseat of her car.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I'd say true it is.
Speaker 8 (16:38):
Police in the German town of Alsdorf pulled over a
pink car recently because officers spotted the woman's backseat passenger
a three hundred and thirty pound pony with a bucket
of feed serving as road snacks, with only one rope
tethering it in place. They gave her a forty one
dollars fine, but she refused to pay because she said
she'd done nothing wrong. Number five Federal Trade Commission files
(17:01):
lawsuit against company selling invisible pet.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Leashes false it is, it's fair. I just know, Jacqueline
carl I'm still thinking about the horse in the backseat. Yeah,
you'll have to give us a wholese a cut.
Speaker 9 (17:16):

Speaker 2 (17:18):
I wonder what that translates to in euros. Sor right, Jacqueline,
I love it. Thank you very much, and congratulations to

(18:22):
good to be with you on a Friday morning. Beautiful
sunshine today. Hi's eighty two degrees and if you are
the Republican candidate for governor of New Jersey, you see
beautiful sunshine today. Probably saw it yesterday with a new
pollout showing that Jack Chitarelli and Mikey Cheryl are now
neck in neck in the Emerson Poll, which is forty
(18:43):
three to forty three percent. And he's joining us on
the phone right now. Jack Chitarelli, Republican candidate for New
Jersey Governor.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Good morning, take Good morning Ken, Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Great to have you on. And I'm a New Jersey constituent,
so i want to put that out there. So you know,
I've been following the campaign and when you have the
poll results that you had earlier in the week, it
was an internal poll and it showed that you were
beating Mikey Cheryl by one point for the first time
since the campaign started. A lot of people on the
(19:13):
left said, oh, you know, it's only it's an outlier poll.
But now you got two polls back to back showing
basically the same thing. So how did you guys, react.
Speaker 10 (19:23):
This is only re reaffirming what we already know in
the community. Each and every day I'm out there, I
got taken. People want change. When you see Democratic mayors
in Dorsey Mike candidacy for governor, that says something and
her camp has it as a dead heat too. So
we're right where we need to be with thirty nine
days to go. In thirty nine days, we'll plot a
victory here for New Jersey.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
And the main thing to remember is, for those who
don't realize, New Jersey has eight hundred and sixty thousand
more registered Democrats than Republicans, and in spite of that,
you are neck and neck or beating her by a
point depending on which pole you look at, which for
the Democrats that has to have them freaking.
Speaker 10 (19:58):
Out, and you're pointing out something else here that's easy
to overlook. Traditionally, historically, Republicans under poll the polls because
of that difference you just mentioned. And so hey, listen,
some of these poles had me down by twelve points
with two weeks ago. Last time around. We knew that
wasn't right. We know these poles are correct, and we're
(20:20):
right where we need to be.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
And of course the biggest issues right now impacting New Jersey.
Everyone's talking about property taxes and energy, and I was
so glad to hear you pointing out the big deal.
Somebody saying on the left, Oh, the reason energy costs
went up so much is the grid? The grid, the
grid nothing. When you force shutting down six power plants,
it's called supply and demand. Why is it that the
(20:43):
left still doesn't recognize that reality.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Well, because they know they're guilty. They broke it, they
own it.
Speaker 10 (20:50):
And what they're trying to do is exploit people by
lying to them, blaming the grid, blaming our utility companies,
which hundreds of thousands of middle class New Jerseyan's work
for blaming the president. So Murphy shut down six different
electricity generation plants. He did not expand nuclear, He put
a moratorium, unnatural gas, fire electricity generation, didn't accelerate solar
(21:11):
on all the rooftops of all the warehousings across the state.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
He betted all on wind, Ken bet it all on wind.
Speaker 10 (21:17):
And here we are seven years and almost eleven months later,
and now we're an electricity importer. We used to export electricity,
that's how much we used to produce and so we'll
change all that.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
On day one when I'm governor.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Seven to ten. Wore the Voice of New York Ken
Rosotto win for Larry Menti on a Friday with Jack Chiarelli,
Republican candidate for New Jersey governor, and Jack, we have
to ask you also about one of the issues that
came up during the debate on New Jersey, which is
the other place I work, and that was the taxes. Now,
of course the question was posed to Mikey Cheryl, she
(21:49):
would not lock in and say that she would not
raise taxes. You are saying that, Well, let me not
put words in your mouth. Where do you come down.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
On that list?
Speaker 10 (22:00):
This points out, I think a real flaw in her character.
She's got adds out there lattly lining that I'm going
to raise the sales tax to ten percent. And I
made that clear the debate that we're not raising the
sales tax period, We're lowering property taxes and income taxes.
Then they asked her in the same question and she said,
I'm not going to rule that anything. I'm not going
to commit to anything. So let me see if I
(22:22):
get this. You're lying about me raising the sales tax.
But then when you're asked why not you're to raise
the sales tax, you say, I'm not going to commit
to anything.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
We have to ask you about the obvious red herring,
pink elephant, whatever you want to call it. The big
issue from yesterday, of course, the information that came out
from the foyer the Freedom of Information Act about Mikey
Cheryl's military records. Can you tell us when you found
out about this information, when it was presented to you,
and what you've heard from Cheryl's cap because of course
(22:52):
they're apoplectic that a lot of what should have been
redacted information was released.
Speaker 10 (22:57):
Ken you speak to any veteran, you speak to any
graduate of a military academy, and they will tell you
that not being allowed to walk, not being allowed to
participate in the graduation ceremony is a big deal. She
has violated the honor code for the Navy, and obviously
she was punished. I think she needs to come clean.
(23:18):
All she needs to do is approve the release of
her disciplinary records to find out of what she's saying
is the truth. But even if what she is saying
is the truth, the fact that she didn't want to
turn in classmates that she knew or cheating. What is
she going to do when she's governor and she finds
out that there's people that are gaining the system in
the administration or anywhere in this fifty nine billion dollar
state budget that Phil Murphy's blown out.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Yeah, and that is clearly a big deal. But again,
if you could talk to the Cheryl camp right now,
of course they're clearly upset about the release of our
social Security number, of personal address, et cetera. But this
is not something that you sought out directly or you know.
That's what the accusation is that somehow on the right
there was some help given in that information may have
(24:00):
been deliberately given away.
Speaker 10 (24:02):
What would you say, Ken, They are trying to obfuscate
what she did, and she needs to come clean on it.
A citizen at large put in an Open Public Records
Act request and the Archives provide the information. The Archives
is already apologized for screwing up as for what I've
read that they should have redacted some information.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
They didn't.
Speaker 10 (24:22):
They've apologized for their wrongdoing, but nobody else did anything wrong.
They're trying to obfuscate this. They're trying to circle the wagons.
They're trying to save her candidacy. She needs to come clean.
But we're seeing a trend here Ken. So now we
know that she wasn't allowed to graduate and she was
punished at the Naval cad. While in the Congress, she
broke federal law and had to pay fines for stock
(24:43):
reporting and stock trades. The New York Times reports the
while she's sitting on the House Armed Services Committee, she's
trading defense stocks, and her entire campaign for governor is
built on a stack of lives about me.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I think there's a question of character here.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
You know, I spent twenty five years in mainstream meeting
as a TV news anchor in New York, and my
question to my colleagues is why did none of them
put out a foyer to find out this information? When
you consider Mikey Cheryl made her military career the center
point of her campaign, Yet nobody on the left or
in mainstream media decided that that was something worth investigating.
(25:20):
It took a private citizen to do that. That's my question.
I'm pointing the finger at my mainstream media friends who
I know are listening right now.
Speaker 10 (25:27):
And Ken at the debate, she made this statement. Check
the videotape. No candidate's era been as transparent as I. Okay,
if you're that transparent, come clean. Approve the release of
the records. Let us take a look at your disciplayer
of records. You're the only person to do that. If
what you're saying is true, release the records.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
All right, well, listen. We also invite Mikey Cheryl to
come on. We'd love to hear from her as well.
You are welcome back anytime you want as well. Jack Chiarelli,
Republican candidate for New Jersey Governor, thank you so much
for taking the time talking to us today.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Kay, thank you looking forward next time you bet?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
All right, it's a forty seven right now, and boy,
this it's just tightening up. We only have a six
weeks left. If you had asked six weeks ago where
things stood, as Jack Chedderolli, the campaign had also released
information saying that, oh, internal polls, they're showing that it's tightening.
But a lot of people in the mainstream media said, oh,
this is going to be a runaway for Mikey Cheryl.
(26:26):
Now not one but two poles showing at neck and
neck or Jack Cheddarelli a point ahead. So this is
definitely a campaign to watch. You know that everyone all
over the country is watching to see if this is
a referendum on how Donald Trump is doing in the
White House. It's a forty seven right now, and protesters
are hitting the streets of New York this morning, just
(26:47):
as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin at and Yahoo prepares to
speak at the UN. What message are they sending and
will it drown out his information wars? Natalie Migliore gets
the Beat on the Street next.
Speaker 10 (27:01):
Now it's seventeen Woar's Beat on the Street with Natalie
Migliori and.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Natalie's in with Oh gosh every day this time with
the Beat on the Street.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
What do we have today? Natalie?
Speaker 11 (27:14):
Good morning, Yeah, Good morning, Kat. New York City is
in for a chaotic day or another chaotic day with
the UN General Assembly going on as it comes to
a close, but not without Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Yet
and Yahoo making an appearance. An Israeli group called Unacceptable
with outside Fox News in Midtown this morning to call
(27:36):
attention to their cause ending the war. So I asked
them why Fox and why today?
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Well, Nathaniel just landed in New York and he's going
to addrust to you in General Assembly in just a
few hours. And I think that this is a moment
that we have to set up as Israeli's to say
that this war is now benefiting only Nathaniel only His
government maybe.
Speaker 12 (27:56):
Doesn't speak to the Israeli population. He only speaks to
a Fox News or to super right wing American channels.
He doesn't speak to the Israeli population. He never answered
any question. Whenever he's confronted with a tough questions, he
just doesn't answer.
Speaker 7 (28:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (28:15):
A small group of demonstrators, maybe just over a dozen,
could be seen holding images of hostages and banners reading
their demands. One poster that stuck out to me read
we are not our government, So what does that mean
to this group?
Speaker 5 (28:31):
Every whole of the Israeli people. Since October sevenths has
shown that there's a complete distrust of dis government. Israeli
people think that this government is using them and in
a lot of ways holding the country in a strong arm,
preventing us from ending this horrible, horrible war, bringing the
hostages back and building something better.
Speaker 12 (28:47):
He's operating against Israel, against israel Is. Eighty percent of
the population in Israel want to end the war and
to bring all hostages back.
Speaker 8 (28:58):
That's it.
Speaker 12 (28:59):
He's playing against Israel.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
We need the world to stop him.
Speaker 11 (29:03):
Yeah. Another group marching from Times Square to un this morning,
stepping off in just a few minutes, is actually on
social media calling for Netan Yahoo's arrest. Well, a pro
Israeli group is setting up in front of the United
Nations in just a few minutes as well. Two israelly
to now live in New York. Tell me what the
feeling is over there.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
I think that's a question that's even better to ask
Israelis that are living there. But from what I hear
from my friends and family, it's.
Speaker 12 (29:29):
It's challenging my friends, my family. I was in Israel
in October seventh, of course, and I have a lot
to say about it. I think BB's to blame.
Speaker 10 (29:40):
Terrible.
Speaker 12 (29:40):
We just weeitnessing I don't know almost the end of
Israel because he's giving the Israel to the far right.
Speaker 11 (29:50):
And of course the message always gets a little misconstrued,
especially on the streets of New York City. One onlooker
saw the group waving Israeli flex and through their eyes
him to the ground while shouting misunderstanding the entire message.
I can't air most of what he said, but let's
see if you can make it out starving ChIL dread Yeah,
(30:13):
and then he went on to list a string of
explatives that just would not be constructive, very up that
he was saying that they're starving children in Gaza. But
these people standing outside Fox are calling for the end
of the war now, even with they hate on the streets.
This is really tells me why it's so important for
him to stand outside for the cause.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
I feel like I'm doing the smallest part that I
can to support everybody who's living through this horrible work.
My friends and colleagues in Israel, my family, the hostages
and their families, the Palestinian people, the Israeli people. The
least I can do is stand up here and make
my voice heard.
Speaker 11 (30:51):
Yeah, and Ken, that's really what today is about. A
lot of people are going to be making their voices heard.
We'll really just see where the day goes, especially with
a group starting Time Square marching to the UN, another
group actually setting up in front of the UN. So
we'll just really see what happens on the last day
of the General Assembly.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Yeah, I know New Yorker's want that done with. But
I think you know, Donald Trump has been saying the
President's been saying, look, just return the hostages, living and dead.
Return the hostages. This whole thing will be over. So
let's hope that they heed that advice, because I think
everybody just wants this to be done. Natalie Migliori, thank
you so much. Always done a great job with the
(31:31):
Beat on the Street. And Natalie will be back Monday at.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Eight point fifty.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
So definitely tune in like you do every day, like
I do every day, and listen to Natalie with her
Beat on the Street.
Speaker 11 (31:41):
Thanks Natalie, Days of Truths.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
You know I listen.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
I sometimes Natalie Vaka sneaks in my talkback because I
do listen, So you know I listen to you every day.
Speaker 11 (31:52):
Love, we always appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
