Speaker 1 (00:00):
Loving life in South Carolina retired former wo R news
director Joe Bartlett. Good morning, Joe, Good morning Larry.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
What did you did you call me deranged or no, we'd.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Never call you deranged. I called you malfunctioning. Malfunctioning, Okay,
Malfunctioning's okay. That just means there's something wrong that has
to be fixed, and once it's fixed, everything will be fine.
And you it was encouraging that I heard you had
something nice to say about Donald Trump, because I remember
the old Joe Bartlett, the pre South Carolina Joe Bartlett
(00:34):
used to have nice things to say about Donald Trump
all the time. Then for some reason when you got
down there, all of a sudden, you changed. But well,
let's start with a nice thing.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Okay, the nice thing, because I have been very critical.
And the thing is it's not that I you know,
I did like Trump. He did a great job his
first term. I think he's way overboard on this term.
But that's another story, all right. So uh, to be fair,
he I want a part not what he did that
I agree with. He said he was going to eliminate
the taxes on Social Security with his big beautiful bill.
(01:06):
Now there was some doubt about whether or not that
was gonna get done. But it got done sort of.
I'll still have to pay taxes, but I will get
a tax deduction on my Social Security but it gets
smaller the more you earn. But you know, it's it's
a break. And the interesting thing about this and a
lot of the other so called tax breaks he's given you,
(01:27):
they all expire when he's not in office. Why would
they do that. I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I mean, I think that it's probably the I think
that he wanted to go all the way in and
to get this through the Senate. The deficit hawks were
all over them, and I think he had to win
a couple of votes. It isn't amazing. It comes down
to like one two votes to get these bills passed.
So I'm pretty sure that's what happened. I have to
look into it, but I'm gonna guess that's what happened,
(01:56):
because he did make that promise on the campaign trail. Yeah, no,
I look at I I think I don't want to
talk too much about Trump, because I do. You have
some talkbacks here to play for you. But you know,
I just I really I think you're a little nitpicky
when it comes to Donald Trump, because you know, he's
trying to bring peace to the world. He looks like
he's going to be successful in the Middle East, which
(02:18):
will be the first time in forty years. Economy's pretty good,
and the borders closed. These are three things he promised.
And so you know, everybody wants to say something bad
about Donald Trump, they have to look elsewhere. But the
big issues he's doing really well on. Don't you think, well.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
He's doing okay, yes, I mean he closed the borders.
I think again, he goes overboard. He closed the borders.
I think the Ice police force it's growing, is a
little out of control. H And by the way, I'm
not explained that guy.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
No, no, no, no, no. You can't say something like
that without an explanation. Explain that to me.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I think, look at the idea was to close the borders.
He effectively has closed that. There's not as much illegal
immigration coming. These guys are not coming over the border.
But I think the problem now is this quota that
he's got of three thousand illegal immigrants today. That's ninety
thousand a month, a million a year, and in there
these are not all criminals, Larry, there's some pretty good
(03:12):
people that are getting snatched up by this secret police
force with masks going into home, deep bots and seven
eleven's chasing down landscape.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Every single time, every single time there's an arrest warrants.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Okay, but the percentage of people that are being snatched
by ice, what is the percentage of people with a
criminal record aside from seventy eight fact that they broke
the law coming in here?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Seventy eight percent?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
That's that true. That's true, not right.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
That is the absolute truth. Unless Tom Holman's lying.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
But I'm sure you can come on, he's got I
think he's gonna.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
So you got it online. You can go online and
look at it. You can go about listen, do your research.
Just go online.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
And I did, and I don't Tom Holmans.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
You do your research on MSNBC. It doesn't count. You
go ahead and look to the official numbers. They have
all listed, they have it all listed.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
But again, Larry, they call if you came in illegally,
that's a crime. These are minor crimes. I want felonies, felonies,
bad guys. That's that's a small percentage, and we're busting
up families.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
It's not a small percentage. You're just wrong, Joe, You're
just wrong about that. That's not the case you are.
You're just wrong about that. Now, you know what, if
you if you're right, I will admit it. But the
last time I heard a number was seventy eight percent,
and that came from Tom Holmes.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
What do you expect him to say the truth?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Do I think he knows more about it than you do.
Let's say say that I'm.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Sure he does, but I think he's spinning this thing.
There's not If they collect one million people year, ninety
thousand a month, seventy percent of those ninety thousand people
are not hardened criminals.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Well, three hundred thousand we know are criminals in the country,
and they all haven't been caught. And what happens is
when you go into a place, and he said hundred
thousands said from the would you stop for one second?
He said, from the very beginning that if he goes
into a place, they are required by law. They are
required by law. If someone is in the country illegally,
(05:17):
they have to take them as well. And if the
Democrats would allow them into the prisons to pick up
these prisoners, there would be no collateral damage in any
of this, but they refuse to do it, and then
they complain. And by the way, Donald Trump promised he
would do exactly what he's doing. This is what he
said he was going to do.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Is he going to give an exemption to the farm hands. No.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I think he came back on that because what they
just found out when they went into that marijuana farm,
that that was filled with criminals and they also were
hiding children. Then they were sex trafficking children. So yeah,
that's the other bad one that they were stopped. Hey,
let's let's there's no reason we have to fight. Let's
play something nice talking. Let's play a talk back, because
they really really like you. No matter how you've changed.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Where have you gone, Joe? We used to know you
moved down south and turned a shade of blue woo woo.
Is no wife, kids or golfing pals to turn your
head and make you think that way. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
(06:23):
come on, Joe.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
That was excellent.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
One more message for Joe Bartlett. Hey, Joe, I know
you're in contact with the aliens. I'm talking about the
ones from above. Do me a favor contact them, tell them,
come to New York, take Mandali with them. Do that, Joe,
(06:54):
and you got a case of being coming to you
down into Carolinas.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Are you a big Mamdanni supporter.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
No, but I think he it's a phenomenon. You know,
I see Cuomo staying in the race. He is tired.
This is his last shot. If he doesn't get this,
he's done for the rest of his life. And I
think people have grown tired of that old message that
they get from politicians. You know, they promise this, promise that,
and then nothing gets done. And I think Mondomi's tapped
(07:21):
into that. There's a lot of dissatisfaction out there.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I agree with you. I think he ran a phenomenal campaign.
I think he's an excellent candidate. I don't think he
can do anything he's promising to do, but it doesn't
seem to matter. I mean, he tapped into something, and
I think all the politicians could actually learn from this.
You know, I wanted to talk to you about the
UFO problem, but we're running out of time, so we're
gonna have to save it until next time. Let's Joe,
(07:44):
let's let's not fight anymore. Let's just promise from now
on we're going to talk about like I do with
my relatives that are liberal. We'll talk about anything else
except politics. How about that next time?
Speaker 2 (07:57):
How about Jeffrey Epstein, Larry. We didn't get to Jeffrey.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
We have to do it next time. You come back
tomorrow if you want to know as much as you want.
He's too busy. That's right, with the golf and the
shuffle board. Thanks so much, Joe Varlet appreciate it. I
really appreciate you doing that.
