Speaker 1 (00:01):
It said, go man d in the morning on seven
to ten Wolaw the Voice of New York, Happy Tuesday
for you to you, thanks for being here this morning.
In the Big Three, the New York Supreme Court temporarily

(00:21):
stops ICE agents from picking up criminals who are illegal
and being held at rikers.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
It's preventing the city from protecting itself against violent transnational
criminal gangs that have been declared terrorist organizations and cooperating
with federal law enforcement in criminal investigations.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Sorry for that pounding. That's the Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro.
You might as well call him Randy Maestro because he
keeps the beat to what he saying by pounding constantly
on the podium in front of him, even though that's
where all the mics are. Randy, I guess he wants

(01:12):
to make his point emphatically, even though he ruins audio
for everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Oh that was so annoying.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna play it again a little
bit later. So Governor Hoko announces her budget that includes
a state wide cell phone band in schools.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
We protected our kids before from cigarettes, alcohol, and drunk driving,
and now we're protecting them from addictive technology designed to
hijack their attention. Cell phones have drake too many of
our kids in the dark places. But together with this
change in policy, we're helping him climb back into the light.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I would love to know what you have to say
about this. You can go to the talkback. Also, is
Natalie Migliori doing this today? Natalie mcgriori at eight fifty
is going to ask New Yorkers how they feel about
it as well. And Trump celebrates one hundred days in office.
He touts the most secure border in history, while the
media attacks the administration for deporting children. But the borders

(02:15):
are says, The mothers are being deported and then they
are given a choice as to whether their kids want
to go with them.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
This is a parental decision, parent parenting, one on one.
The mothers made that choice. Now, I tell you what
if we didn't do it, the story today be Trump
administration separating families again. No, we're keeping families together. Having
you a citizen child, does that make you immune from
our laws?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Now? And are we close to getting a ceasefire deal
between Ukraine and Russia? Or aren't we? The president is
starting to lose patience.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Wanted to stop shooting, sit down and sign a deal.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
And we have the confines of a deal, I believe,
and I want to to sign it and be done
with it and just go back to life.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
What United action are you considering taking against front?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
A lot of things I can do.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I'm not looking to do it, but I have a
lot of strength. Apparently this week is it. It sounds like,
and you hear this from all the administration officials that
they are going to try to play this out this week,
make a hard press during the week, and if not,
then more and more sanctions against Russia. And you're going
to hear Donald Trump bad mouthing putin. It's the carrot

(03:33):
and the stick. He was real nice to him for
a while, and then you can watch what happens if
he doesn't get his deal. Let's get to the Rikers Island.
The thing that makes no sense whatsoever. So Adrian Adams,
who's running against Eric Adams for mayor and is attacking
him constantly even though he's not the front runner. Adrian

(03:54):
Adams is obsessed with Eric Adams. It's strange that they
have the same last name because they don't get along
at all. Eric Adams is a moderate. Adrian Adams is
far left liberal, and so for some reason she loves
the sanctuary city policy, and for some reason she does

(04:18):
not want ICE in rikers even though it makes absolute
sense to do it. She and other members of the
city council, even though it can save lives, even though
it can make the communities safer, there against it. Of
all the things with the sanctuary city policy, this is

(04:40):
the one that makes the least sense. Why don't you
have ICE right there at Rikers Island so that when
someone who has to be deported, someone who's here illegally,
somebody nobody wants in this country anymore because they've committed murderer,
they've committed a soul, they've robbed several times, and are

(05:03):
in Rikers Island. Let ICE just be there in an
office where you hand them over in cuffs to ICE officers,
and they deport them out of the country after a kearing,
after a quick hearing where they go, yeah, they're not
here illegally. Here's all the paperwork that shows that. And
they've committed several crimes, or they've committed heinous crimes, and

(05:25):
we'd like to deport them. In a judge goes okay,
you know, they should be out of the country. But
instead of that, instead of that, the city Council and
the liberals in this city would rather release them onto
the streets. Let them go into the community, let them
go get their guns, let them fortress down and wait

(05:47):
for ice so they can maybe have a shootout on
the streets of New York. That's what they would rather have.
Picking them up at rikers makes the city safer. And
for some reason, just because they want to be anti
Trump and in connection anti Eric Adams, they say no,

(06:10):
can't have that, and I think they should be impeached
just for that idiotic decision. And the thing is, it's
not just Adrian Adams, It's the majority of the Democrats
on City Council, which is why the sanctuary cities and
this ridiculous rule at rikers continues to exist.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
The people of New York Mayor are not pawns for
your self righteous game.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Please explain to me what she just said. What the
hell that means? I mean, I'm sure she's sat and
wrote that thinking, oh, this is going to be really clever,
but it makes no sense. Not pawns for your self
righteous games. I don't I really don't get it, but

(07:04):
they say this, they cover up everything in this flowery
language because the reality is that the facts make absolutely
no sense. That was a press conference they had yesterday
celebrating celebrating the fact then, of course that Rakers was

(07:26):
now ICE free. Was now so that criminals can just
go right back out on the streets. That's what they
were celebrating. Yeah, we just made the communities unsafe. And
of course Adrian Adams was there.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
ICE can already work with the city for those convicted
of serious crimes, and their desire for more power over
our city only demonstrates their intent to violate city law.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
But that's not the point, on Randy mice Master, all
of a sudden, that's not the point at all. Yes,
you're right, ICE can work with police officers if they're
going after somebody on the streets. Absolutely, you're correct about that.
That's not the issue. So one city council member got

(08:14):
up there and used flowery language to try to cover
up for the inanity of this of this lawsuit, and
then Adrian Adams deflected because they have no argument. There
really is no argument except we don't like Trump, and
the city council president's running from mayor and we want
to make Eric Adams look bad. That's it. That's the

(08:36):
end of the argument. That's all they should say. You
ready for Randy Mastro again, not if you're going on
the tables. Well, that's what he does.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
It's preventing the city from protecting itself. Don't you do
it too, against violent transnational criminal gangs that have been
declared of terrorist organizations and cooperating with federal law enforcement
in criminal investigations.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I wonder if he's home with his family now listening
to this and they're going jet and the podium is shaky,
you need to fix that. Well, even if it was that,
that's where the microphones are. It's still gonna make a
lot here. I'll put the microphone down here. Okay, Sorry,
see all stop that. You're annoying people. I'm trying to

(09:27):
coach Randy Mastro for the next time. Look, Crash is
even pounding on his desk and you can hear him.
Hear it from here. Let's give the last word to
Tom Holman about Rikers.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
But now the city council wants to lock us out
of Rikers Island where TVA and MS thirteen hours so
we can get custody of them before they hit the
streets in New York.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
It's just ridiculous and I'd also love to hear what
you have to say about this. Also, there was an
executive voted by Donald Trump yesterday the truly fascinating and
I know we have a lot of truckers that listen, uh,
and it was se several things about trucking in America
that he's addressing, but the one thing that's getting a
lot of attention is he wants English proficiency for all

(10:08):
truck drivers. And I'm a little puzzled as to why
that is, but I'm sure the truckers will be able
to clear that up for me. So just go to
seven to ten WOOR on the iHeartRadio app and leave
a talk back. You can comment about the sanctuary city policies,
you can comment about what's happening at rikers, or if

(10:29):
you're a trucker, you can explain to me why it's
important for truckers to be proficient in English. Oh man,
it was a night to remember a mom myth University
headlines by Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen and guests like John
Fogerty from Creeden's clear what a revival. Plus we have
tickets to see John Fogerty coming up at H twenty
