Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here's Minty in the morning. Mary Minty on sevent WR.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Good morning, tell you, I hope you had a great weekend.
A lot going on today. Wow over the weekend news
drop left and right. Let's start with this. In the
Big Three, Eric Adams is out.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Of the race.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
I cannot continue my re election campaign. The constant media
speculation about my future and the campaign finance boys decision
to with whole millions of dollars have undermined my ability
to raise the funds needed for a serious campaign.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
We, of course, I'll be talking about this all morning.
Can't wait to see the first polls out After this happened,
there's a lot of.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Attention on all the other candidates.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Weve reaction from Zorin Mom, Donnie wove At, reaction from
Andrew Cuomo. And we have Republican candidate for mayor, Curtis
Lee with his reaction live here at nine oh five.
Will he drop out next? We will ask him and
after a new poll shows the New Jersey race for
governor is tied, it is followed by another scandal for

(01:14):
Democratic candidate for governor Mikey Cheryl, as military records show
she was disciplined for covering for others who cheated on
their final exams.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
She was not allowed to participate in her graduation ceremony,
she was punished by the Naval Academy, and saying that
she was covering her friends is code for a line
to investigators. And so she needs to come clean and
she can very easily do that by approving the release
of her disciplinary records, but she won't do that, which
strongly suggests that she'll continue to lie about this issue.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Now you know, Cheryl has already been reprimanded by Congress
for using her position to enrich herself with lucrative stock deals.
Her campaign is now on life support. We're going to
talk with Newest Jersey columnist Mike Kelly about this coming
up in just a little bit. A study of the

(02:10):
brain of the Park Avenue mass shooting gunman Shane Tomorra
shows he did, in fact suffer from t CTE from
concussions playing football.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
It certainly could be a contributing factor. And to me,
when this happened, I thought, like so many in my field,
that there's really an ever increasing urgency for us to
look more into this relationship between hits to the head
and a likelihood for violent behavior and mental illness later
on in life.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Are we close to a piece steal in Gaza?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
President Trump hinted at that that would end the war
at least for the time being between Israel and Hamas.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I think it's a deal that will get the hostages back.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
It's going to be a.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
Deal that will and the war.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
It's gonna be a deal.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Which it's gonna be peace.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
We don't have any details of that possible deal or
if any of or all of the hostages will be
released yet. We'll be talking about that throughout the morning.
Another mass shooting, this one at a Mormon church in Michigan.
The shooter also set fire to the church.

Speaker 7 (03:21):
We believed that that was deliberately set by this suspect.
We do believe that we will find additional victims once
we have that scene secure.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, and that has happened.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Two more bodies have been found, bringing the death toll
now there till four. The shooter, Thomas Jacob Sandford, was
killed by police at the scene, making a total of
five dead. Finally, former FBI director James Comy is charged
with two federal charges for lying that the Trump campaign

(03:57):
colluded with the Russians in the two thousand sixteen presidential election.
President Trump understands that cities like Memphis need federal resources.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
He understands what the city. That's not him at all.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
That's the mayor of Memphis, very excited, extremely excited that
troops are coming to his city. Nobody else is excited
about it, except for the governor of Tennessee in Portland.
Now they're talking about sending troops in Chicago again, they're
talking about sending troops. So stay tuned. This is going

(04:34):
to get really, really interesting. And the Jackson Dart era
has begun. Here's a run again by Dark First Entendo
taking in his first corio touchdown.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I'm up Chileng's Hunter.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
The rookie quarterback leads the Giants to their first win
of the season over the Los Angeles Chargers. The legend
Warner Wolf. We'll talk about Jackson Dart's debut coming up
at seven thirty five, but let's talk about the mayoral race,
shall we. Things just got really interesting. And by the way,

(05:10):
if you want to chime in on the mayoral race,
go to the iHeartRadio app. Leave us a talkback. You
could win a limited edition MENTI in the Morning T shirt.
Which will be awarded every day to our favorite talkback
of the morning. And while you're on the free iHeartRadio app,
be sure to set a preset for seven to ten woir.
All right, now, let's talk about it. We had surmised

(05:34):
for a while that this might happen, and then for
some reason it looked like it wasn't going to happen.
If I would have stuck to my guns, I would
have looked like a genius, because I said a couple
of months ago, no, he's right, he's jumping out, he's.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Definitely getting out.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And then I, you know, I got to the end
and I'm thinking, no, maybe he's not. Maybe he's he's
really gonna stick this out. But no, Mayor Adams is
now officially out of the mayor's race.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Change is welcome and necessary, but beware of those who
claim the answer to destroy the very system we built
together over generations. That is not changed. That is chaos. Instead,
I urged New York to ra choose leaders not by
what they promised, but by what they have delivered.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I'll tell you what that was an endorsement of Andrew Cuomo.
He never said his name, he never said mom Donnie's name.
But what he was talking about, of course, to beware
of those with no experience who promised the world and
can't deliver. That was Mom Donnie. And the somebody that
has experience that could do a better job, that of
course was Andrew Cuomo. So we never came out and

(06:46):
said it, but that's what he was saying there. What
I can't get out of my head is Curtis Leewa
from last week. Remember when he came out and he said,
I was offered a bribe and I'm not going to
take it.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Lewa can't be bribed. And then he said this.

Speaker 8 (07:05):
I anticipated any moment, Eric Adams will have determined that
the price is right and he'll be bowing out now.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
If there is a job and or money involved, we
may never know about it, because I think everybody's too.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Smart for that to happen right away.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
The money will probably never know about if there was
any money involved, and we can't even assume we're alleged
that that's true. But the job, if there's a job
for him, my feeling would be it would be he
would get it after he left office, so it wouldn't
be for months for now, But let's get some reaction,

(07:45):
shall we.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Let's get Andrew Cuomo.

Speaker 9 (07:48):
I applaud his selflessness. You know, we often wonder is
it about us or is it about a greater calling?
And I think what Mayor Adams said today speaks volumes.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
So he's thrilled because he's assuming he's going to get
all of his votes, and all of his votes means
anything from nine percent, which was the last poll showed
up until twelve percent possibly, and that's not going to
be enough to beat Mom Donnie. He's going to need
more than that. Now, here's what I'm really disappointed by,

(08:26):
more than anything else. Don't you think that zorin Mom
Donnie would be thrilled by this and rather than kick
a guy when he's down, talk about Mayor Adams in
glowing terms, say how much he appreciates this and what

(08:49):
a difficult move it was for him. Now he decided
he was going to kick a man when he's down.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
I think the race continues to be the same as
it was, where it's a race between us and the
failed politics that we've seen, whether it's Andrew Cuomo or
Eric Adams.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
He talked about the failed policies he believes they're teaming
up on him right now. That's what's going on. But
he just kept kicking at Eric Adams, and Eric Adams
is gone. Eric Adams. He's not running against anymore.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
This is a mayor who raised the rent by twelve
percent on more than two million New Yorkers, a mayor
who priced New Yorkers further out of childcare, a mayor
who has time and time again exacerbated a cost of
living crisis, whether by raising the water bill or supporting
Connitison when they wanted to raise gas and electric. And
so I wouldn't take advice on addressing that same crisis
from the man who's been inflaming it time and time again.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
To me, that's classless.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
To me, it's disappointing that he couldn't rise to the
occasion and say something too nice about the former mayor,
say something nice about a guy he's not running against anymore.
He gets nothing out of that except just to kick
a man when he's down. He's got to know I
thought he was brighter than that. He's got to know

(10:06):
when to turn that off. But apparently he doesn't love
to know what you feel about the race. Go to
the iHeartRadio app and leave us a talk back. You
could win a mentee in the morning t shirt. Why
did country music icon Dolly Parton cancel her Las Vegas
residency We'll explain after the break. Plus, the super Bowl

(10:27):
halftime show performer has just been revealed. Is it Tailor
that's coming up next?
