Speaker 1 (00:00):
I do want to get right to Matt Rooney, the
founder of the website savenew Jersey dot com. If you've
never been to the site, you really should check it out.
He's a conservative activist and attorney. He also has a
lot of airtime with my wife down in Philly. As
a matter of fact, Matt, I'm so glad you could
find the time for us, because we've tried several times

(00:23):
to get you in the air on the air, and
you're in such demand you've always had to turn us down.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Well, Larry, I appreciate all the invites. It's awesome to
be with you, and you know that as much as
I love you, I'm not gonna say no it's on.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I don't either. So we're we are in the We're
in the exact same boat. Tell us about this race.
It does seem and you tell me if I'm wrong.
It seems like all of the energy is with Jack Chitarelli.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
No, you're You're not wrong at all. You don't bring
Barack Obama into Newark, despite the former president's very spotty
record at being a GOTV cheerleader, unless you're panicking, And
let's be clear exactly why Mikey's having a problem. Mikey,
Cheryl's having a problem because many of those same voters,
a lot of them non white voters, who crossed over

(01:16):
to vote for President Trump last year made it the
closest presidential election in New Jersey since nineteen ninety two.
They're still interested, they're curious about the Republican Party, and
many of them are supporting Jack Cudarelli this year. Poll
after poll, Larry, whether they've got it tied, We're Jack
down by a few points. They all show Jack getting

(01:38):
twenty one percent of the black vote in New Jersey.
If this movie seems like one you've seen before, folks,
it's because you have. It's called twenty twenty four. So
she's in trouble. She knows it. We're clear eyed about
the fact that there were still eight hundred and fifty
thousand more registered Democrats Larry and New Jersey than Republicans.

(01:59):
It was closed even I think we'd be talking about
the Jack Chittarelli landslide. But this thing is infinitely winnable
for the Republican candidate. If the GOP has a big
election day, that's always the gift.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, you say, extremely winnable. As I look at the
early voting, and you study the early voting, and I'm
talking about not only people that are showing up to
the polls, but people that have mailed in Ballance, I
think it bodes well for Jack Chitarelli. This may you know.
I've all along, I've been saying we're not going to
know that night. I may have changed my mind. We

(02:32):
may know that night. I think he might win by
two or three points.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That would not surprise me at all. I keep telling everyone.
If Republicans stay home, they don't show up, and Mikey
wins by three or four points, that will not shock me.
If Republicans show up and Jack wins by two, I
will not be surprised because look, at the end of
the day, Jack Chittarelli has the energy. I think one
very interesting finding Larry in one of the polls. I

(02:58):
think it was the Quantus inside survey, the head within
the margin of error. They ask people, not who you're
voting for, but who do you think your neighbors and
family and folks in your community are supporting the governor? Yeah?
Jack won by six points.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
So again again that's twenty sixteen, right all over again.
It's New Jersey, it's a blue state. There's a lot
of social pressure to not support someone who has perceived
as maga in certain circles. But at the end of
the day, I think people recognize there is a need
for change. The definition of insanity is doing the same

(03:36):
thing over and over again. Right, And Mikey Cheryl is
basically Phil Murphy with better teeth. All right, I'll give
her that, But I think somehow less said hair better,
hair better hair, right, which is a low bar in
this in this case, Larry, But you know, why would
we want to repeat of the past eight years they

(03:56):
have not gone. Well, the only thing we've succeeded in
doing in Trenton over the past eight years under Phil
Murphy is boosting the Florida economy by sending all of
our retirees and everyone that can afford to relocate down
to the Sunshine State.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Well, we're gonna have that happening. We had somebody call
in a little while ago that had a great line.
He said, is you haul sponsoring the campaign of Zurin Mom, Donnie.
We're gonna have the same thing happening in New York
over the next four years, because it looks like Mom
Donnie is going to take this. I know you concentrate
on New Jersey, but how can you not pay attention

(04:32):
to the race in New York City?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
What do you think? Sure? Yeah, look, I mean it's
sad in a way. That's my initial reaction, not just
because Mom Donnie is a nut and I think he's
gonna take New York back to the old days, the
bad old days of the seventies that inspired Batman nineteen
eighty nine, which was a great movie Jack Nicholson and

(04:55):
Michael Keaton, Right, but it was it's not a place
where you'd want to live, right. You don't want to
live in a Batman movie. You want to you want
to watch one. But selfishly, I got to say this
to all the New Yorkers that are listening to this.
You got to make the choice that you got to make.
I suppose it's a free country while we can keep it.
But if Jactionarelli wins and we have a mayor Mom

(05:15):
Donnie coming up here shortly, I think it's going to
be great for my New Jersey real estate values because,
as you've indicated, Larry, I think people are gonna stream
out of the city they're gonna move here. There's going
to be a boom. And my only hope is that
the lefties who decide to leave because they don't want
to live with the consequences of what they've voted for,
don't repeat the same mistakes that leftist made, for example,

(05:38):
when they fled California for Colorado. You got to change
your voting patterns. New Jersey finally moving in the right direction.
We don't want to go backwards because you don't want
to live with this. Your mom Donnie.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Right, And I think Mom Donnie is going to make
certain that nobody like him ever runs again in New
York City because you know he can't do anything that
he's promising. Matt, it was great to talk to you
when you find the time. Would love to have you back.
I know you've got a busy schedule, but try to
mark us down for somewhere on that, would you please?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Oh anytime. I love being with you. I'm sorry my
voice is starting to go. I know you know how
that works. Oh yeah, but I'm just gonna say real quick,
if you'll allow it, just folks, don't let them do
to you what they do every cycle. You're going to
get some voter suppression polls. They're going to tell you
that it's already over. You've seen this movie before. Go vote,
Bring a bunch of people with you. We can win

(06:30):
this one. We really can, and we can save New Jersey.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Matt Rooney, the founder of the website Savednewjersey dot com
go to it. A conservative activist, Thank you so much.
