Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now eat seventen w OARS Beat on the Street with
Natalie Migliori.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
So I've been talking to a lot of people today
about Zor and Mamdanni and the mayoral race and what
should happen or what is expected to happen. But let's
talk to the people who really count the voters, and
that's what WARS Natalie Mglori does every day on her
Beat on the Street.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Natalie, Yeah, good morning, Larry. But it's always an eye
opening morning whenever we talk about this mayoral race, because
the New York City mayoral race remains top of mind
for many New Yorkers as the leads, twists and turns
continue grabbing voters attention. And it comes as former New

(00:46):
York Governor Patterson urges one of the independent candidates, either
Andrew Cuomo or incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, to pull back
and support the other. It's all in an attempt to
unite them moderate vote and beat Democratic nominee and Assemblyman
Joran Mom Donnie.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I don't know too much about mad Donnie. However, this
is what I'm going to see. I still believe that
Mayor Adams would be get a second turn.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
The reason why I.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Say should get the second turn because he knows the business.
He knows the business. Guy's a rookie. Not to say
that rookies can't be superstars. That's not what I'm saying
in this regard his business with Donald Trump.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
I feel like he was in it for other reasons.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
It wasn't for the city. It wasn't for that at all.
The evidence is everywhere. I don't think he did much
for the city. He was more in it for himself.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
I'd rather see somebody else in there, maybe Curtiusly, but
he's gonna have to get some younger people on his
side to get votes.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Now. Some politicians have also been calling on Sleewak to
drop out of the race to allow Adams or Clomo
to gain the votes. Meantime, Mayor Adams says Cuomo has
been privately pushing him to drop out, while he has
been doing the same to the former governor. It's almost
becoming you know, when you're like when you're looking at
a comic book and all the superhero or the action

(02:03):
figures are pointing at each other, and they they'll go like,
who's going to do it? But this guy knows who
he wants to see pull back.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I always had a lot of great respect for Como, right, however,
not because of the issues what he had in the
past which damaged his political career. To this degree, he
still has some muscle left. However, he's not the guy.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
They already proven who they are, So why are we
gonna give him a second try?

Speaker 5 (02:30):
I mean I was supporting him before, but Mandani feillu
one and he's for the working people. So you got
to stick to the nominee and move on.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah, and some people say it's as simple as that.
But our New Yorkers, and this is a big question here,
are they willing to part with their political party?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Maybe I would? You know, I don't have nothing against
Democrat republic Land a person as a person. It just
depends how you run it.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Not at all, not at all, vote for the Democrat.
H Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Really sticking on And we've talked about this before, Larry,
how people will get to the ballot and see who's
on the Democratic line and they'll vote along the party line. Now,
the one question I had for voters is how did
we get here? How did we get to having a
socialist become the front runner of the Democratic Party.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
That's a good question. I like to know that answer too.
How do we get here? Here? Bright, I don't think
he should ever be in control of anything because he
hates America.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
We got there because of the misapplication of the words
about Adams by Mayor Adam, because of this Turkish thing
that he did with it. That's all you have to
the credit the man's credibility. You gotta looks what he's accomplished.
Would you show me that record since he's been in
the mail, you show me your record in Matchester his
if your record beat him, did I vote for him?

(03:51):
His record is not going to be May Adams.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
People are then't even charge him because this is a
social right, don't we leave In a social world, everything's
on social media, everything's about outside, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
And you know what that last answer means, Larry. Some
people just don't know what socialism is, right, and so
that might be an indication of mom Donnie's potential pathway
to victory.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
You know, it's still really really early, But I'm amazed
at the diversity of opinion. I thought we were going
to hear, Okay, they all should drop out, or somebody
should drop out, or this is the guy. You didn't
get that today, did you.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
No, people were pretty sexed in what they want, and
you're right it is early on, but nobody's saying who
should really drop out. They just know who they want
to see, like who they want to vote.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
For on the ballot.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Natalie will be back tomorrow morning at eight point fifty
