Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now it's sevent ten w o RS Beat on the
Street with Natalie Migliori. Oh, Natalie Migliori.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
You know I pronounced your name Paison style miyotre before.
But it's yeah, like you're I'm sure your relative somewhere.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yes, And some people who like to send us random
emails can who are like, if you would just say
it nice, it would be so beautiful Miyoni. And I'm like,
we say it, Migliori.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Exactly take it, take it or leave it. So what's
the deal going on? What Eric Adams can't get a break?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah, well, you know what, We're putting a pin in
another busy week in the New York City mayor's race,
especially for the incumbent independent mayor Eric Adams. Some former
members of his administration can actually making headlines. After one woman,
Winnie Greco, handed a reporter a potato chip bag filled
(00:59):
with some money in it. Can't pick that up, and
his former official chief advisor, Ingrid Lewis Martin was indicted
on additional bribery charges.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Well that doesn't sound great. I don't have an overly
positive impression of the current administration.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
They should be accountable for what they do.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
You know, hey, we can't pick out family and we
can't pick what people do.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
So but I don't think that he should be penalized
from what other people do. I heard them use the
excuse that it was something cultural. It had nothing to
do with a bribe. That's part of the common sense.
If that's what you believe, that they just gave the
money to give them money. I don't know. I have
a bridge to sell them somewhere out in Stotaten Island.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I'd like to go see that bridge. And even though
the mayor is not implicated in any of this, for
lack of a better word, drama, it had me asking
people if this is better for his re election campaign.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Definitely, he's surrounded by all this.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
I'm sure some of it's made up by the other candidates, but.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
You know, there's there's usually a little fire where there's
some smoke. He's not on my list for voting, and
that has nothing to do with it.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
No, that has.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Nothing to do with it because I didn't vote for
him before and I'm not voting for him now. It
can't reflect well. But you know, with politics, ors good
and bad in everything, and you have to keep in
mind that the media lies and make stuff up. Sorry,
but that's just the way it is, and that's what
they've been doing. They're in the Democrat Party's pocket.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah, so we've got a bit of a you know,
I ended that interview with Ken like, well, I try
not to be like that, right, and you know, nobody
hands me money with potato chips and you know, where's that.
But anyway, it doesn't change, right, all this still doesn't
change how they feel about the mayor in a sense,
(02:58):
because the people were a little skittish before, and it
certainly doesn't change how people feel about the supposed front
runner and all of this. Zoron Mamdani Zoran.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Yeah, he's pretty controversial. You know. He's obviously kind of
closer to socialists versus capitalists, and I think that while
while I agree conceptually with a lot of those ideas,
practically I don't think that will work very well for
New York.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
He seems like he'll be a good mayle. He seemed
like he's for the people. He's very strong about what
he's willing to do for us.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
It's scary to have a socialist communist as the mayor
of the financial capital of the world. People are absolutely insane,
and I hope he loses. I hope he gets crushed,
and I think he will because there's more common sense here.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
And you know, you can't forget ken about Andrew Cuomo,
who has proposed that all challengers drop out by next
month if poles don't show them having a probable chance
of beating Mam Donnie. Cuemo said he would even do
this himself. And Pomo has been a fan favorite for
you know a lot of people who I talked to
on the street since the beginning.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I think that he shouldn't have been judged for what
happened because nobody expected the pandemic, and I think Como,
I love him, and I think that he.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Did a great job.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
I'm looking forward to someone new being in office. I'm
not sure if we have any candidates that I'm overly
excited about them.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
I don't know if the Guardian Angel Sliwa can beat
Mandavi head on, because this is not a Republican city,
and even Democrats that hopefully have common sense that they
want this country in the city to survive, they're still
won't vote for a Republican. So I guess I have
(04:47):
to hope.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
For Andrew Como, And you know what, Ken, you know
what's the crazy denominator is between everybody who I taught to,
not just the people this morning, it's that they they
say things like they they're following these these candidates, but
they say they're not decided yet, so they're not going
(05:09):
to decide until it gets closer to the election. And
you still got a little bit less than you know,
three months to play with, so it anything can happen.
What's gonna come out in the next news cycle besides
potato chips and money?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
And that is that.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
When I heard that, By the way, when I first
heard that, I think I may have heard it right
on this station.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I heard that, I thought, what did I hear that right? Somebody?
And I'm thinking what would I do?
Speaker 2 (05:36):
And the person who was handed that had a panic attack,
right because she's worried that she you know what, if
it comes out then I was handed money, it could
be my career, understandably. So, I mean, I remember when
I worked at Channel seven. You couldn't accept ever anything
as an on air journalist. You could not accept any
case somebody wanted to give you tickets. You always you
had to pay for it. Or if they did give
(05:57):
you the tickets, you went to the boss and said,
Listen was just giving this here and put them on
the desk and walk out. You're not allowed to accept
that because it compromises your integrity.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yes, exactly, and I totally understand that. I think I
do the same thing that she did, and maybe even
might make a video of it right away and be like, well,
this isn't me. I didn't ask for it anyone.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
To give it to me.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
By the way, I find it funny that that Chris,
our producer filling in for Natalie Vaka today, that Chris
was handing out little potato chip bags earlier. I haven't
opened mind yet, but I'm curious, what is that about her?
You can't betting for something?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Oh no, I don't have enough money to be giving
one of the eyes. That's just chips. They're really chips.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah, I love it, all right, break all right, fantastic.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Natalie's going to be back Monday morning. Get eight point
