Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's talk to Reagan Reeves, white House correspondent for the
Daily Call or an independent women's foreign visiting fellow. Reagan,
you have a great job.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yeah, I do. It's action packed. It's a little tiring,
you know. I could use the day off.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yeah, but you can't with this guy. He doesn't ever
seem to take a day off. Let's start with the
President sending the National Guard and even considering sending marines
to Los Angeles. He didn't even flinch at doing this,
but he's getting a lot of pushback. What is the
(00:34):
latest on what's coming from the White House?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
You know, I from the White House. I think the
message is exactly what you just laid out. That's essentially
what they're they're sticking with, and they're very confident in.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
The fact that La needs the National Guard.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
I think the mainstream media is going to try to
downplay the violence in Los Angeles and make this seem
like a completely irrastion will move from the president. But
if you look at the photos, I mean, I'm reading
Political Playbook this morning and they include a couple photos
of fiery protests, of police cars on fire, and the
(01:14):
Associated Press this morning is talking about how protesters are
clashing with officers in LA. Why are they clashing because
they're violent, And so they're going to try to downplay
this and tell you that the National Guard isn't needed.
But the American people just can look for their own
eyes and see that these are violent, fiery protests and
(01:35):
the National Guard should probably be there.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
It is amazing how much we're lied to. And I
don't use the word lie loosely, it's amazing how much
we're lied to. Because I'm sitting here watching right now
the riots from last night. It's on TV just about everywhere,
and you see fire in the streets, you see people
on you see people shooting fireworks at some of the
(02:01):
ice officers, you see cars being demolished, and they keep
still calling it a protest. Donald Trump was really good
at correcting that and saying, no, this is a riot.
And so you're exactly right. And I think that's exactly
why what you're talking about is why more and more
(02:22):
people are going to the Daily Caller and more and
more people are going to alternative media. And if you
look at the numbers for the mainstream media, Reagan, they
just keep sliding.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah, I think the American people are kind of sick
of being told what they're seeing, what their.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Own eyes is wrong.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
This is, you know, exactly what happened when President Joe
Biden was in office and the American people were told that, yes,
you might feel like your wallets are hurting, but the
economy is actually great and you just don't understand that.
Or the fact that President by as Old and Americans
didn't think he was fit for office, but the media
(03:04):
kept insisting, no, the American people, you're just wrong.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
He is fit for office.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Just trust us, And there's only so much of that
you can do before people start to catch on to
you and say, no, actually, I don't want to be
told I'm stupid all the time, and I can't blame
the American people. I think it's quite insulting, and it's
insulting that the mainsure media hasn't learned their lesson. You
think they would have learned or you know, or have
(03:31):
some accountability moving forward after they were exposed for the
way they covered up President Biden's to climb, But absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
They will not show accountability.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
And you think the Democrats would learn too. They're still
embracing kilmar Abrego Garcia even though he's coming back and
they're now going to charge him with federal charges of
sex trafficking. And it does sound like they have enough
witnesses to talk to now that they have the goods
on him, and yet we keep hearing that the charges
are false, and you still have Democrats embracing them.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I mean, I don't even have anything to say on
that point, because it's.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Just it's like, it's just out. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
And I think a lot of people are seeing through
this whole Maryland Father of the Year stick that.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
The mainstream media is doing.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
And so I think what the Chirp administration is doing
right now is like, Okay, let's bring this guy back
and then, you know, do this the right way and
then this will go away. I think that's what it
looks like. It looks like what's happening. But we'll see
what the media media pulls out next.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
See, you did have something to say. The Father of
the Year stick was tremendous. Let's talk about the bromance
gone bad. What's the latest on Elon Musk and Donald Trump?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
So we reported this last week Thursday evening, as Elon
Musk was having his meltdown on Twitter. You know, Elon
Musk has insisted that this is about the Big Beautiful
Bill that and Donald Trump and Mike Johnson have said
that this is yes about the Big Beautiful Bill, but
Musk is specifically mad about the evy mandate not being
(05:12):
in the bill, et cetera. What we heard from our
White House insiders is that this had nothing to do
with the Big Beautiful Bill at all, and that this
has actually had to do with weeks and weeks of
frustration finally coming to the surface that Elon Musk has
been frustrated about how he's been attacked for being in
the federal government and the work that he's done. He's
(05:33):
frustrated that his business has taken a hit, that Tesla's
have been lit on fire. He's frustrated that he came
into the White House thinking that he was kind of
going to be this top dog and going to get
to make some big picks. So it's actually described to
me as he being acting like a second president. And
so he thought he was going to have control over
the IRS, and they didn't give him control over the irs.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
He thought he was going to have a say.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
And who was CIA director, and that didn't happen. And
so when he didn't get his NASA pick, that was
kind of this red line that was cross for Elon Musk.
And wow, that's really what you're seeing now, according to
my sources, is that he's frustrated over not getting his
way and being told no over the last several weeks.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
That's tremendous reporting. Reagan Reese, White House correspondent for The
Daily Call, or an independent Women's Foreign Visiting fellow, Thank
you so much.
