Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well had zurin.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Mom Donnie announced that he was going to go on
his five Burrows against Trump tour. A lot of people,
including me, said, wait till he gets to Staten Island,
and sure enough, when he got to Staten Island this happened.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
But represent this island.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
You hate Joe, you hate Italians, you hate America, you
hate the cuffs that are in there protecting you.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
It was a big protest, but only one guy was
able to amplify it with a loud speaker, and then
he went in to the venue that Mom Donnie was
in to face him face to face or at least
try to uh. And I saw him taken away in cuffs,
but I'm proud to have him on now. He is
(00:48):
a local hero and a hero of this show. Scott Lobato,
Staten Island artist and activists. Let me start off Scott
by saying, first of all, good morning, and I love
your artwork.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
I's very kind of you, glad to be on your
show here to talk about the insanity and this wonderful
city of ours.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
We'll talk about that day first, but what happened with you?
What happened when they took you away?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Well, I people know me.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I've been an activist in the city for forty some
odd years and been arrested dozens and dozens of times.
Me and the police department have a good report because
I'm a very peaceful protester. I don't resist, they don't.
I'm not destructive, I'm not violent, and I always got
to defend the police when they arrest me because I
step over the line. People get upset. You know, Oh
(01:38):
my god, I can't believe you're arresting you. You support
them and you're doing But they give me a lot
of leeway. And then there's that line that's always there.
We are free nation, but a nation of laws, and
when you step over them, take the consequences.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Like a man, like I always do. And they wanted
me to, you know, take.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
The what line did you step over? I watched the video.
I didn't see you really step over the line. What
did you do that? They charged you with the megaphone.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
The megaphone you need a permit and I always do that.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
But and they were like, Scott, you know, we get
and they gave Honestly, they gave me a half an
hour with that megaphone until the opposition really puts the
pressure down, and then they have to do what they
are hired to do. What they do is to you know,
it's the law, Scott, give us the mic or you know, megaphone.
All we're gonna have to, you know, give you a summons,
arrest you. And I'm like, I'm gonna take that chance.
(02:28):
I need to use this megaphone, you know. And so
they did. But they were supposed to do. So everything's good.
It's so good. It's what it is. But the beauty
is is that he saw my face and the faces
of more of us were at that gathering than the
people that were there to see him.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
That was the beauty of it. Are we going to
see more of this, Scott? Are we going to see
more of this?
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Absolutely? Oh absolutely. I mean I've been doing this for
a long time. But the irony is, if you remember
how much the man Dandy became famous, it was when
he did the same thing to our good friend, my
good friend Tom Homan in DC, you remember, and Albany.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
I believe it was all that yep, yep, I do.
That's what made him famous.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
And he was very aggressive with the police, with the
state troopers, and he just walked away, you know, and
but that made him you know, you could see he
had a suit on and he was already this was
his big moment. So but I did the same thing
to him. But I did it tenfold because if you
look at the video, every other word is bleeped out,
you know. So we gave him hospitality, a welcome surprise,
welcome party.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Hospitality was Staten Island style.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
It's gonna take more than Staten Island.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Though.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I don't know what the attraction of this guy I have.
I can't figure out why he's doing so well and
Howie can keep lying?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Come on, you know, I really don't. You're in the business.
I really done the business.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I get that. I know what you're saying. I know
what you're saying. But are people that's stupid that they
fall for him promising all this stuff that he can't deliver.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Now, listen, it's a very small it's a fraction of
the people that you know, the media society blows it up.
There's the Boogeyman. Everybody needs the Boogeyman, or that prince
and shining armor or the combination of both.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
You know. Was Oh, he's such a charming man. His smile.
You know the young, the young kids that are lost
day fall for him. But that's a fraction the majority.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
And I say this every day and people, even the
big talking has the big political scientists geniuses, that no
way Curtis leever can win.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Look at the numbers, the Democrats out number. Listen to me.
I've been in the city. I'm in New Yorker.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
I'm a true New Yorker and I've been in this
game artists and an activist and yeah, right.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Right, right right.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
But the majority of the of the Democrats, liberals and
independents come November for on the election day or right before,
right after, right before the election start. Democrats, liberals and
independents who have businesses, families, property investment in this city
are gonna look at this little communist who will destroy
(05:01):
this city like nothing has ever happened in this country before.
And they are going to say, absolutely not, I am
voting for Curtis Sliva. It's gonna be Curtis versus Man Danny.
Two of the last those are the two last men standing,
and Curtis Sleiwa will be the next mayor of this city.
I'm telling you you have a pocket full of these
young cult punk communist followers. Okay that Adams created, by
(05:24):
the way everybody ran over to Adams really pisses me off.
The day after that primary, everybody conservative, big tough conservative
friends of mine ran over to Adams, and I was like,
are you epping kidding me?
Speaker 1 (05:37):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Anybody but Man Dandy? Not anybody's name is Curtis Sliwa.
Cuomo and Adams are the cause what created Man Dandy
and his cult of followers, violent locking Jews and university libraries,
beating up Jews, throwing rocks and cement fireworks in the
faces of our cops because of Adams turned his back
(06:00):
when that happened.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
And what is everybody doing?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Oh, you big real estate moguls invested in Adams is
the cause of all this. You're kicking the can down
the road with Adams. Adams is going to drop out
before Cuomo. That's a fact. Come, I'm telling you. After
Labor Day, everybody's gonna come together and they're gonna start
thinking and really looking at this. This horror show of
an uneducated young man who speaks well, uneducated in city politics.
(06:26):
How long he's an assemblyment? He knows nothing about the city.
But here's the media dolling now here is that this
is New York City.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
You understand, Yeah, I know what you're saying is exactly right.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
And here's the good news.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
The campaign doesn't really start till after Labor Day, so
that's that's when the ads will start. That's when people
will start paying attention. So I understand that, and I
hope you're right about Curtis. Curtis does have to step
up his game. And we had him on last week
and he promised he was going to. He said he's
gonna start spending money, he's gonna start building a staff,
and he's gonna start introducing us to the people that
(07:02):
will be in his administration. I think that's all brilliant.
But I want to point out something you said that
I agree with. He is the media darling right now,
and he's covered. Even for those who don't like him,
they're covering him. They're over covering him right now, and
nobody else can get oxygen in this race.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
But again, again, it's good learning this process. It's going
to be his fifteen minutes of fame because he can
only last so good charming, because we all know the
skeletons in his closet, but there are a thousand more
skeletons in that closet.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
And once everybody comes.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Back, their kids go back to school, everything comes, but
people are going to start realizing, Okay, it's the end
of the world. I prayed, and I told everybody in
my social media the day before the primary, I prayed
and hope that man Dandy would win in order to
scan the living crap out of the people and the
city who have been complacent all of these years, same
thing that happened in his country.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I preached it for thirty five years.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
We sat in o you know, flatulent, stayed reclining watching
reruns out of Kardashians, while our world was.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Collapsing around us, and we let it happen. And that
stop that came to an end on the national scale.
Now it's happening in the city. I'm glad he won.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
This is his fifteen minutes of fan Curtis is gonna
skyrocket in everything and the next couple of weeks. I
talk to him every day. I just got off the
phone with him. He is going to blossom. And let
me tell you one more thing. Everybody knows that I
would take a bullet for Donald Trump today, tomorrow, and
to the day I die, I help get that man elected.
But Donald Trump and Dawson Curtis is a curse. We
(08:31):
love Donald Trump, but the sad thing is he's in
New Yorker and everybody hates him, you know what I mean.
So it's what he needs to do is just get
the National Republican Committee off their asses and get behind Curtis.
I don't want to hear any of this. Well, it'll
help the Democrats, you know, congressionally. If man Dandy wins
(08:52):
the city, are you going to turn into a Democrat?
I will call each and every one of you while
to destroy the greatest city in the world for yourself
set satisfaction. Do not become Democrats. You will be primary
like there is no tomorrow. Get behind Curtis.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I'll tell you what, Scott. I love everything you've just said,
and I hope you're right. I'm not sure I see
it happening, but I'm I've been wrong before, so I
hope you were absolutely correct, and I know you're gonna
I know you York I don't vote here, No, I don't,
So yeah, there's.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
A difference there. If you're in New Yorker, your attitude
is like mine.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Well, I but accept the polls don't show that yet,
So I hope you're right. I do hope you are
absolutely correct. I'm on your side on this. Scott Lobedo,
Staten Island artist and activists. You'll come back right.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Scott, any time, my man, I got a lot to say.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
That's wonderful, talk to you again. Wow, he doesn't need
a megaphone. I don't even know why he uses one.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Right, save yourself from jail time. Just use your voice.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
No, he's great, but he's very smart.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
He's he's also very smart, and he knew he knew
how the media changes things.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
And he kept hinting at that because he didn't want
to offend me. But I did. I got the message.
