Speaker 1 (00:02):
Ninety thotpoc Beth and Eesbury. All the things you need
to know to get you day started.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Some tons of stuff going on today.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
First of all, back to school. I think everybody is
back now. Last week Baltimore County went back. I believe Anna,
Rundel County went back last week. This week Harford Carroll
County are back, and all the private schools as well.
So everybody, get up in the car, get back to school.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I hope you have a great first day. All right.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
President Trump's going to be making an announcement from the
Oval Office today. The White House isn't saying exactly what
the announcement is about, but it is on his schedule
for two o'clock Eastern time. There's been growing speculation and
concern over his health recently. That's all I saw on
Instagram and TikTok over the weekend. But Sunday he said
he's never felt better. So we'll see what that announcement

(00:56):
is today two o'clock. You guys, I might need your
help on this because I wonder if somebody was there
at Hershey Park. This little boy walked on to the
monorail track at Hershey Park. I saw the video it's
really scary. Apparently, the little boy had is on the

(01:20):
autism spectrum. He was he accidentally entered a closed area
for the mono rail, got separated from his parents, and
found his way onto the track. He was you know,
the monorail. It's like the train that's up in the air, right.
He was walking down the track. He was rescued by
a park visitor who was there just you know, hanging out,
and reunited with his parents shortly after. Hirsh Park says

(01:43):
that the kid was not injured. Boy, those videos are terrifying.
So if you are you were there, let me know
seven to seven nine six two, begin your message with
higher hay. Last night's Powerball drawing came and went with
no winner. Now the new jackpot is going to be
one point three billion dollars. If you take the cash option,

(02:07):
you will become six hundred million dollars richer.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
That's insane.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I literally can't wrap my head around that much money
at all. The odds are winning are one and two
hundred and ninety two point two million. But as I've
been mentioning, tomorrow here in WPOC, we have a very
exciting fun cash contest that starts at seven o'clock tomorrow morning.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's our high low game.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
You're going to get to guess the jackpot between zero
and twenty five hundred. The odds of winning that are
much much better. Okay, So I hope that you'll tune
in tomorrow around seven am so that you can win.
That there's new Call of Duty film in the works.
I can't believe that this hasn't happened yet, but Paramount
is negotiating that. Gordon Ramsay went on Instagram on Saturday
to say that he just had some basil cell carcinoma

(02:52):
removed from his face and he thinks the medical team.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
And then lastly, Duayanne.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
The Rock Johnson is said to have performed in a
career shifting dramatic performance in The Smashing Machine, which debuted
at the Venice Film Festival to a fifteen minute standing ovation.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
That hits theater's October third again. It's called the Smashing Machine.
I'm looking forward to seeing that. I'm loving this shift
with movies in theaters being less like superheroe and more
like I don't know, biopic or rom commie like. I'm
ready for that shift. I'm ready for that trend to
come back.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
That's what's trending.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.

Begin your message with high or hey in your music
city minute. Today, Rodney Adkins and his wife we're going
through airport security.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
This is hysterical.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
He got stopped something suspicious in his bag, just a
plain black backpack. Security stops him and they pulls out
like a roll of ground beef or saw. It's like Johnsonville.
I don't know if it's like ground beef or sausage
or something. And they're like, hey, what is this? What's

(05:33):
happening here? He's like, it's just I'm just packing some meat.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Hey, why did you Rodney? Why do you have a
roll of meat in your carry on? That's so weird.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
But apparently, according to TSA's website, you can bring meat cooked,
fresh or frozen in your carry on bag. The only
caveat if it's in if it's like with packed ice,
like trying to keep it cold and the ice is melting,
you can't bring it because that's too much liquid. But
Rodney was able to keep his meet and continue on
through security. Weird though, right, why are you carrying It's

(06:08):
just Johnsonville?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Like you could.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Probably buy that at wherever you were headed. No, maybe
because we're a snack on the road.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
So funny. So there's your music city minutes.

Speaker 6 (06:19):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic on forty westbound at
north Chester.

Speaker 2 (06:25):

It don't make sense. I can't make it all makes sense.

some other spinny thing that went high up in the air.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Did you guys do that one? No?

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I think that was called the claw.

Speaker 3 (11:51):

I mean same, but I really love chocolate. Okay, this
is that's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
All right, good job, you did it. You won the
hot seat.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You are going to see Parker McCollum at Peer six
September eighteenth, and you've qualified to win meet and greets

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Okay, John, Oh, that's awesome.

You, mind Me.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Ninety three point one WPOC Beth and Easebury. All the
things you need to know to get your day Starday, Good.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Morning, Happy Tuesday, back to school day for a lot
of people. Hope you have a great first day. Last
night's powerball drawing has come and gone with no winner
of the one point one billion dollar jackpot.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
If you match all the numbers correctly and.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Tomorrow night's one point three billion dollar jackpot after taxes,
you'll be six hundred million dollars richer the odds of
winning one and two hundred ninety two point two million. So.
An eleven year old boy has died after being shot
while playing Ding Dong ditch with friends in Houston Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
They were ringing the doorbells and then running away. You
know that as sick rank.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
A man came out on his porch and shot one
of the kids in the back. He was taken to
a local hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries.
Houston police say that the circumstances didn't warrant self defense. Therefore,
that man will probably be charged with murder. Emma Heming Willis,
Bruce Willis's wife, says that Bruce has to live in

(15:23):
a separate house because he requires round the clock care.
The move, says she says, was one of her hardest decisions.
But they had two daughters, thirteen and eleven, and they
didn't want the daughters to have to live sort of
in a hospital setting, so they put Bruce in a
separate house nearby. I guess they still have breakfast and

(15:44):
dinner together, but this way the girls can have a
normal home, you know, where you know, they don't feel
like they're in a hospital. I guess there are a
lot of you know, critics online, as there usually are,
but Emma says they don't have the experience to back
up their opinions. Okay, long time Donald Trump Ali Rudy

(16:04):
Giuliani received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for what the
President calls the being the greatest mayor in the history
of New York City, even though he had his fall
from grace recently and was disbarred from New York and
Washington paramount. Just negotiating call of duty rights for a
new movie, So that's exciting.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Dwayne the Rock Johnson.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Has a movie that did so well at Venice International
Film Festival.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
It was a fifteen minute standing ovation.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
It's called The Smashing Machine that opens in theaters on
October third. And lastly, I guess there's this panic at
the gas pump four gen z years. Sixty two percent
of people ages eighteen to twenty four say that they
cannot handle getting gas in their car without having anxiety thoughts.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
And I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
I guess I get anxiety when getting gas. You know
what gives me anxiety that's an everyday task? Is mailing something?
We're going to the post office or like the FedEx
store or something like that. I get a little anxiety.
Then I should be able to handle it. I'm a
grown woman, but I still can't.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Seven seven ninety.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Sixty to begin your message with high or hey, and
weigh in on any of the stuff you hear.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
All right, there's relatively normal traffic day out there, given
it's the first day of school for a lot of people.
Eight ninety five soup On between Lombard and Hollibird is
backed up a little bit. The outer loop between seven
ninety five and Baltimore National Pike, and there's next day
on seventy eastbounds.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Michael Jay's Music City then and sixty seconds. You don't
know like you own music row First.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
And foremost, congratulations to Sean from Abingdon.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
He's going to see Little Big Town. Another four pack
of Little Big Down tickets could be.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yours tomorrow morning, same time, same place, plus tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
We're also giving away our high low game cash situation.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
You're gonna guess the number between zero and twenty five
hundred dollars, and if you guess it correctly, you win
the money. It's gonna be super easy, but it might
take a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
All right, So that's happening.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
That's starting tomorrow at seven o'clock, and then we'll do
it at seven, nine eleven, all the odd number hours,
So lots of chances for you to win cash. If
you don't win, that's, of course, if you don't win
the power ball tonight, all right. Jason Eldan has opened
up about still having PTSD from the twenty seventeen Route
ninety one music festivals shooting in Las Vegas. Do you
remember that a couple of years ago there was this

(18:46):
big music festival in Las Vegas and Jason Elden.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Was playing and there was a shooting.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
So he a car recently backfired in Canada when he
was in Canada, and he panicked.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Because he had that PTSD.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
He said, he sent his whole team to therapy, all
of his crew members, they all went to therapy after
the tragedy, but he never went to himself. Jason, go
to therapy, big guy. That was a traumatic experience.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
You know.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Of course you still have PTSD from that. So we're
thinking about Jason because that that's tough. But I am
glad that he got his crew and his teammates all
help after that happened.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
All right, we're slow on eight ninety five southbound between Lombardy.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Jordan Davis. Next thing, you know, ninety three point one WPOC.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
It's bad. They with you.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Michael Jay's out for a couple of days. He'll be
back on Thursday. Sean txted in. He said, thanks again.
I needed something good to happen to me today. Oh Sean,
I'm sending you little hearthands. If you guys weren't you
know listening a few minutes ago, Sean won tickets to
Little Big Town. And then I also said during about
the news brief that gen Zers are admitting that they

(20:05):
have big time gas tank anxiety, meaning when they go
to fill up their tank at the guest pump, they
get a lot of anxiety. Kelsey texted and she says,
I'm a gen Z myself, and I experience anxiety the
gas punk. Because I'm a young woman, I always make
sure to carry that thing on me.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
If you oldies know what I mean. Just kidding, lol, Kelsey,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I said, I have anxiety when I go if I
go to mail something, or if I go to the
store to like the FedEx or the UPS store, I
always am like just super nervous to do that. I
know that sounds silly, but I really am. That's my
thing that I'm not great at. Okay, So the other
thing that I was excited about that I saw this

(20:52):
morning the nineties.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
You know everybody's loving nineties stuff or whatever.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Well, the toy toy Aisle is no exception, and they're
saying this year for the holidays, retro toys are gonna
be big time. Here are a couple of things that
they're expecting to be back on shelves in time for
the holidays. Tamagotchies, the old school polypockets. I know my
sister still has her pollypockets from the nineties and they

(21:16):
are fine because they switched to the polypockets, like because
I guess kids were swallowing the little tiny ones, but
they were like arguably way better. Light bright, remember light bright?
What care bears are coming back? Even talking furbies are
coming back to stores?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
What was the toy?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
I want you guys to tell me on text seven
seven ninety six two, Begin your message with higher, Hey,
what was the toy from your youth that you wish
would come back to shelves? What do you wish? Perhaps
you've even saved them from back in the day. Let
me know, or you can call eight hundred three two
one thirty six ninety three and always this morning, I'm
taking calls and text on what you thought about sat

(22:00):
in the country. I had the best time, and I
thought Shaboozie was an incredible performer. He had everybody on
their feet at Meriwether. It was it was really incredible.
If you were there here he is now Shaboozy Good
News ninety three point one POC.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Singing good news.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Not any isn't it.

Speaker 9 (22:38):
Something made in the middle, Not any nettle.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
It's Shaboozy Good News ninety three point one w POC.
It's Bethany. Michael j is out for a couple of days.
He'll be back on Thursday. Of Amanda on the Line.
Good morning, Amanda, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
So you were at Saturday in the Country the other day.

Speaker 11 (22:59):
I'm sure I took my son. We actually live in Pennsylvania,
just right over the line, and I won tickets to
the show with Saint Pierre last week. And while we.

Speaker 15 (23:11):
Were there, we get our chair and everything set up.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Good experience so far. Then you guys had a tent
set up for seat upgrades and guess who won that too.
We were smack Dad in the middle. I had perfect
view of the stage, We saw everything clearly.

Speaker 11 (23:30):
My son was thrilled.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
He's fourteen, by the way, and it was just an
all around great experience. I had seen Graylan James and
Dylan Marlowe before, actually a couple of weeks ago, and
they're awesome live.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
But Shaboozi, in all honesty, is who we were there for,
and sat man, it just performed his heart out and
it was an excellent performance.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Was there wasn't there like a certain like buzz when
Shaboozi was on stage.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
It was like, I don't know, the sun was kind
of setting.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
A little bit, and like everybody was on their feet
and there was just this energy in the room, wasn't there?

Speaker 11 (24:08):
He does, He gives this energy. I don't know how
to explain it. It just it hypes everybody up and
brings everybody together. That's what I think his music does.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
I think so too. And then what do you think
of Caine?

Speaker 11 (24:21):
Oh my god, I've never seen him live either.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
She was awesome and I loved him bringing his wife out.

Speaker 15 (24:28):
That was great, so great.

Speaker 11 (24:29):
And his daughter too, she was precious.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
I was really hoping they were going to do that.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
I saw his wife backstage and she had makeup and hair,
and I was like, oh, oh.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
I don't want to get too excited. I don't want to.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Get too excited, but I was really glad that that happened.
So so you had overall.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Two thumbs up.

Speaker 15 (24:49):
Absolutely.

Speaker 11 (24:50):
If my son was here, he gives two thumbs up too.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Was it his first concert, Amanda.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
It wasn't his first concert, and he loves country music,
but was his first.

Speaker 11 (25:00):
Time at Merriweather so that was a really good experience.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Awesome, awesome, Well, thank you for listening, thank you for
playing our contest, and I'm glad it paid off for you.

Speaker 11 (25:13):
I wish I could have met you and.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
And gave you big hugs because we had so much fun.

Speaker 11 (25:17):
Thank you again, so much.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Oh thanks, Amanda. I'm so glad you could come.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
If you want to share your experience with us eight
hundred and three, two, one, thirty six and ninety three,
where you can text seven seven nine to sixty begin
yourrestage with higher hay.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
I have no money in the pocket. I got a
hole in the jean.

Speaker 4 (25:39):

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Ninety three point one WPOC.

Speaker 3 (25:49):

Speaker 3 (25:55):
So it's Bethany. Michael j is out for a couple days.
He'll be back on Thursday. We we are reliving Saturday
in the country because we had the best time on Saturday.
Someone I think this is our nurse who checked in
beforehand and said she was working at the er. She said,
I did work that night, and you guys did a

(26:16):
great job of keeping people out of my work. Okay, good.
That means we had a pretty safe night at Merriweather.
I love to hear that.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Someone said.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
I took my nephew, Jaden, and my niece to Saturday
in the Country. It was his first concert. He absolutely
loved it and had a blast. We did have most
of the radio hosts sitting in front of us, and
he got a picture with Bob Delmot and Michael j.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Oh. What could be better? So this is sad.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Hey, Bethany, I've been living off of photos from WPOC
and some live videos from my friends. I had a
migraine all weekend and I couldn't go. No, she said.
I had really close seats and I'm so bummed to
have to miss the event. But thanks for all the
great pictures. I feel like I was there. Oh, I'm
sorry that you couldn't come. We missed you. And she's right.

(27:04):
There are lots of pictures and videos at WPOC dot com,
at WPOC on Instagram and Facebook, and at Michael j
and Bethany. We're also talking about retro toys that are
coming back and someone said, I'm so.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Excited for cabbage patched kids to come back. Good morning,

Speaker 15 (27:25):
And I was a tombirl, so I had to tend
canal It was like I had cans lined off, or
you could shoot at the cans.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Cam You're crazy. Was it like a slingshot or was
it like a NERF gun or like what?

Speaker 15 (27:41):
No, it shot like laser and then the cans would
move and you had to shoot at them.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Now, okay, So do you do anything like that as
a grown up? Like do you do like clay what
are those clay pot things? Or like shooting range?

Speaker 15 (27:58):
Or I haven't done that. I've gone to shooting range
and go on to a friends piles up the country
and shot across the ponds and at a target.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Does it give me the same nostalgic feeling?

Speaker 3 (28:15):

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Okaym you're so funny. Well thanks for calling.

Speaker 3 (28:19):

Green Pike looks like the interlope between Frederick and Park Heights.
Av is the stop and go right now and then
