talking about whether or not we even want award shows anymore.

love to hear your opinions.
Speaker 4 (00:41):

message with high or Hey, Charlie Sheen has that new
documentary out. If anybody's seen that, I would love to
hear what you think of that. He says he feels
really good about everything now that it's out.

about to do something big.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
Oh, I don't know. Is he still winning? Remember how
wild that was?
Speaker 6 (01:08):

Are people reading this book. Does anybody care? I want
to know is it going to be on Netflix? It is, well,
I'll probably watch let me know. Okay. So Apple made
their big announcement yesterday. They announced the new iPhone seventeen
and then the Pro in the Max version, there's a
new design.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
It doesn't look that different to me.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I don't know, you know, I was listening to the
press conference with Apple.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
Here's a little bit what.
Speaker 7 (01:38):
I heard today.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
We have a huge day of announcements about.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
AirPods and Apple Watch, and we're taking the biggest sleep.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Ever for iPhone. Let's start with AirPods. Thank you Tim.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Starting now, we're bringing the magic of AirPods to students
in an entirely new way, just in time.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
From back to school.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Apple has created something truly special.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
The slim design will fit more comfortably while we give
you all the answers for your next test.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Discreetly, well, professors, think you're listening to music during that
big exam, Tiny cameras on the new AirPod Pro three
scan the text of the test in front of you,
revealing every answer.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
Can you believe they're doing that? Now? That that's silly?
Really though? Did you see that they're gonna make it
easier for people to translate. Yeah, they are. That's pretty cool.
That's legit.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Baltimore trivia host Jonathan Hugen Duber Okay.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
I've really got that wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
He was on Jeopardy and he ended his champion reign
with more than seventy thousand dollars in Winnings.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
He was a trivia area is a trivia host at
the Brass Tap, and he's also a local college guest lecture.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Okay, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
And lastly, The Wren, which is a pub that opened
just I think less than a year ago in Fell's Point,
just made the New York Times list of the fifty
best restaurants in the country.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
That's awesome.
Speaker 8 (03:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Have you been there?
Speaker 8 (03:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:14):
I haven't either. I have not seen that.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
I guess the menu is kind of quirky. Okay, I'm interested.
We like quirky.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Yeah, alright, alright.
Speaker 7 (03:23):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
All right, BW.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Parkway southbound between one hundred and one seventy five is
slow and there's an accident in motion.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Michael, Jay and Bethany at ninety three point one WPOC,
you were talking about Charlie Sheen a minute ago.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Yeah, I just don't know.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
I think it's interesting how he's got a book in
a documentary and I'm like, right, do we want that?
And somebody on tech said, Hi, there was a really
good article in People magazine with Charlie Sheen. They said,
I'm interested in seeing the documentary. I'm glad to know
that he straightened his life out. He was part of
the brat pack era, and I guess he felt excluded
during that time since his brother Emilia was such a
(04:04):
big star.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
I mean, his dad is a star.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
He came from like I think one of his other
brothers is an actor too, So I can imagine that
was that was tough.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
All you help me.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
Following out of grade, I'm crawling back to heaven from
this Hellnerarth.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Main Jelly Roll with Michael Jane Bethany and he's in
the news.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
Michael Jay's music.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Sitting minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 7 (04:32):
You don't know, like you.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Own music row all right, So Jelly Roll is everywhere.
He visited with Joe Rogan on his podcast.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
And he's sharing.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I mean, you know the thing about Jelly is he
wants uh to share his redemption and what he's experienced
with everybody else. And it turns out that during National
Recovery Month, he's taking this opportunity to launch a new
weekly initiative he's called Winning Streak. He's sharing stories and resources.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Right I'm in that space, I'm in my stride, I'm
in my own west. I'm looking forward at every angle
right now.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
He's looking for, he says, a chance just to give
back and continue to help. And I think we're gonna
hear a lot more from jelly Roll, obviously after the
big announcement earlier this week about Netflix offering him ten
million for seven episodes and these documentaries and these these
life stories that Netflix is doing are they're not going
(05:32):
to stop with jelly Roll. Tim McGraw we talked about.
I'm sure Bethaned is going to be a lot of
others that are gonna be added. But so that's what's
going on with jelly Roll. Did you hear about Darius Rucker.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
He announced on.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Social media he's in a relationship.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Oh yes, I did see that.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
He posted on Instagram. So are you excited for him?
Speaker 5 (05:54):
Sure? He's got a new love Emily Deal Well, I
think they've been together for a while.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yeah, but he's just I guess he's going public with it.
I see, and he went he went public at the
Sphere in Vegas. That that's a good place to go
public because everybody's watching there.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
Yeah, I can't hide in there.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
But we've always loved Darius. He's a very cool guy.
He's always been sweet to us behind the scenes. So
I wish them the best of luck for sure. All right,
and that is your country music minute ninety three point
one w POC.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Traffic BNW Parkway Southbone between one and seventy five is slow,
but other than that, it's a nice smooth ride.
Speaker 9 (06:33):
I'm pretty sure this was some sort of record because
y'all been guessing at the hollow jackpod for about ninety
three seconds, and look you there, we already have a winner.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
So what is your guess?
Speaker 5 (06:48):
I'm gonna go with Wait a minute.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
Josh, we're gonna baby.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Highload jack button number one.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
Don't worry, y'all, we're gonna keep this rolling.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Ill brother, you hit the ninety three point one WPOC
Michael Jay and Bethany.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
So do you feel judged by the food that your
kids take to school for lunch?
Speaker 5 (07:31):
Apparently some people do.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah, there's a new survey two thousand American parents, so
this is a pretty big cross section. Thirty percent of
the parents said that they feel looked down on because
of their child's diet.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
So if you give like one of those lunchables or
one of those peanut butter and jelly, you know, pre
made sandwiches, like the uncrustable, the uncrustable, and you put
that in the lunch I mean, do you think the
kids on some level, kids are looking at each other's
lunch because they're like, would you get today, Jimmy.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
I bet it's not the school lunches.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I bet it's like at play dates or if a
kid comes over to the house.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Parents weigh in eight hundred three two thirty six ninety
three or seven seven nine six two.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Begin your message with higher hay.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I've heard when seen on social media when like a
kid has like a juice pouch or whatever, the parents
will be like, don't worry, they only have that like
a couple hymns a week.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
So you do feel a little judged if you're saying
things like that, right.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
I would imagine yeah, Or like if if the kid
is eating like fruit snacks like we do try to
keep that at a minimum. Like people will say stuff
like that, and it's.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
Our fruit snack's really that bad? I love them. Yes,
I'm guilty.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
It looks like moms and dads worry on average forty
seven times a day about what they're feeding their kids.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Well, you know, when your kids are little, everybody wants
Jimmy and Johnny and Betty to be perfect, right.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
I think it's interesting, like I think that the nutritional
it's a game, right, like what we eat, especially in
the United States, and I think it trickles down to
like parents and kids pretty hardcore.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Well, McDonald's, at least in Canada, Beth, and you listen
to this, they're introducing a healthier option to their menu
with the addition of the mcveggie Burger, So obviously they're
thinking and listening to this conversation.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Yeah, for sure, you know, but I don't know half
of parents say that they think it's hard to maintain
nutritional standards for their kids. I think I think it's
hard for all of us, isn't it. Well, that's what
I mean, Like it trickles down to the kids. The
parents don't have a handle on it.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
None of us do. Really, we don't do. I'm sure
you know what's really tough.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
I'm just going to say this for commuters, if you're
in the car and you're driving, you spend a lot
of time going back and forth. And I know Bob
Delmot reminds me every day you can pack a lunch,
you can meal prep, you can prepare right, sure, but
so many of us wait till the last minute and
then it's like, oh, I'm just going to dive into
(10:17):
this fast food restaurant or I'm going to go here
or there.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Well, busy parents like it, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Yeah, But I think I saw this thing with a
doctor the other day, like a pediatrician, and he was saying, like,
it's not so much about what you give your kids
to eat, okay, but it's about helping them develop a
healthy relationship with food so that they don't judge themselves
and then develop like a disordered sure eating situation later
(10:43):
in life. So I thought that was really fascinating too,
But that I feel like that adds another layer of pressure.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
It does, and parents have enough to worry about.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Also, kids go through these crazy stages where they're like
only going to eat hot dogs or I will only
eat macaroni cheese?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
And is that bad? I mean, is a doctor gonna
tell you that's bad? I don't think so, right. I mean,
isn't the kid gonna kind of grow through? I mean,
kid's gonna grow up one way or the other.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Like I don't know. Parents, are you struggling with this?
Seven seven nine six two? Begin your message with higher
hay eight hundred three six ninety three.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I would love to hear from parents who are going
through this right now, especially with you know, school age kids.
And do you feel pressure every day making that lunch?
Speaker 5 (11:26):
You know?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
And I know you said the pressure where parents are
pressuring each other might not be at school but a
righty stiffy Friday if I had it.
Speaker 7 (11:37):
My way, Do not be wasted on this, Jove.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
And I want so bad a hold some of the
things I haven't told you you Mom and me couldn't
get at all.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
So wid job.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Tuck her Wetmore CMA Award nominated Tucker Wetmore here on
ninety three point one WPOC and on the iHeartRadio app
with Michael J and Bethany. You can listen to us
here on the radio in the morning and on our
podcast shout out to the iHeartRadio app for podcasts. Hey, Bethany,
you're talking about feeling judged over your kid's food. One
(12:29):
parent summed up the difficulty saying, I packed my toddler
mac and cheese for daycare, and another parent looked at
me and said, wow, carbs and cheese for lunch. I
laughed it off, but I felt the sting inside.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, it's like, I don't know, I can't Why are
we as parents so hard on each other and ourselves?
Speaker 5 (12:53):
Someone said, Hi, Bethany, I have little kids.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
As a parent, if you want to put healthy options
in front of them, it feels like a full time
I'm a job. My grocery bill is also so high.
Speaker 5 (13:03):
That's a big factor in this. And half the time
they don't even eat it. That's another thing.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
We got a text from a teacher who works cafeteria
duty and says that most of the time the kids
will eat the junk food from their lunch and throw
out the healthy stuff, right and.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
So, And you know what, it is so discouraging and
frustrating as a parent when you see food wasted.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Speaking to speaking to the cost of groceries, I mean,
and stuff spoils so fast.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
It's just we got a couple of texts from like daycare, preschool, preschool,
sure workers who said that basically, at some point, the
kid just has to eat something, right, because if they
don't eat anything, then they have right they have empty
tummy exactly, and then they're you know, acting up and
being crazy because that's true, you have to eat something.
There are so many kids that like go on like
(13:50):
a strike and will only eat one. I remember my
sister used to eat like literally hot dogs and like
lucky charms and like that's it.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
And I remember my.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Mom being like, I don't know what else to do
with her because that's all she literally will consume.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
And now she's like a she's fine, healthy, regular adult.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
But nearly a third of parents have said in this
big survey that you brought up, Bethany, that they felt
judged by other parents based on the food their kid eats.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
I can't. I really can't believe. I can believe, but
I don't.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I was just trying to in visual, you know, just
trying to picture saying that to somebody. I can't imagine
saying to another parent. Wow, I can't believe you're giving
your kid X, Y or Z.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Isn't that The amount of judgment, Yeah, that parents have
for each other is well, And I'll go so far
to say it's mostly the moms.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
Yeah, I just can't imagine dad's doing this. But maybe
I'm wrong. It's probably other things for the dads. What
would we say that would be judge like that? I
just I don't know.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
We might think things like wow, Like I'm just trying
to get my head, you know, I might see a
neighbor who's got a really nice car, and I might think, oh,
they got a big car, parent, or.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I mean, I think we all do judge, but I
just can't imagine saying these kind of things out loud
to so at a preschool, for example, Right, you're really you're.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
Giving your kid pizza? Guys aren't gonna say. I just
don't think. I don't know. I would not find myself
saying that everybody. I don't know. Everybody's in the.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Same boat, and everybody's got so much going on. We
can't be judging each other for these petty things.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
So I'm asking myself, why would that mom be judging
another mom's food.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
For her kid.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Obviously she must be feeling bad about it or insecure herself.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
Of course, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Of course it's got to be coming from SOMEWHEREOC traffic, Yeah, maybe,
who knows?
Speaker 4 (15:54):
All right, eight ninety five southbound between Lombard and the
Harbor Tunnel. We're backed up, stop and go for about
four minutes, and then everything else seems to be a
little congested.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Who's gonna win the money next? With our high low jackpot,
We're gonna play right after we.

Start with a couple of fun local stories.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Yeah, Baltimore trivia host Jonathan Hugo doubler.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Okay, he won Jeopardy.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
He won seventy thousand dollars. He was a trivia host
at the Brass Tap, and he's a local college guest lecturer.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
I love it. I think that's really cool.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
It is The Wren, which is a pub in Fell's Point,
not even open for a full year yet, right, and
the New York Times already listed it as one of
the fifty best restaurants in the country of that so
it looks like I'm gonna go grab some dinner, go
to the rent.
Speaker 9 (17:15):
I know.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
The US job market added nine hundred and eleven one
thousand fewer jobs in the last twelve months period.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
This isn't that weird? Nine hundred and eleven thousand right
before nine to eleven tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Also, that's a lot, yeah, a lot of jobs. Are
you accidentally didn't report? When you see numbers?
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Let me just ask you really quick if you don't mind,
do you get superstitious like you see, I don't know,
my brain plays.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Tricks on your life. No, no, I think. Yeah, the
numbers keep coming up like that sometimes eleven.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Yeah, it looks like it will. Originally eight hundred thousand
was reported, and anyway.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
That's okay, a lot nine hundred and eleven thousand less
than what we thought.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
The revision strengthens expectations that the FED will cut interest
rates at the September seventeenth meeting, so that could shift things.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Well, that's a good thing if the interest rates come down,
right y. Yeah, well we'll see.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Yeah, I mean good, good is relative, I suppose right.
But it makes borrowing money cheap, yes.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Yeah, it makes things a little easier in that department. Yeah.
Taylor and Travis update, Martha Stewart has offered to take
on wedding planning. Foreigner of course reportedly decided that they
would be the band, and now Buddy the cake Boss
is offering to make their cake.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Now, can't Tailor and Travis pay for everything for their
wedding themselves?
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Do they really need all the freebies? Well?
Speaker 4 (18:42):
I think that is actually the question that I have
about this. Is it desperate for these I mean seemingly
washed up people.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Everybody's trying to get them. I'll do it, I'll do it. No, thanks,
we don't want you. I don't know, or is it nice?
I can't tell.
Speaker 4 (18:57):

Speaker 4 (19:22):

in the open after his book and documentary have debuted.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
He's teasing something big that he hasn't done in a
long time. People are wondering if that's He's going to
Taylor Swift's wedding. Probably.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Oh and lastly, Apple's dropping events yesterday unveiled the new
iPhone seventeen and in the Pro in the max version,
bold new design, and then they reviewed they refieled their
new air pods Pro three, which I like.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
I think the highlight of it.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
You'll have to let me know what you think, but
I think the highlight of the whole thing was that
the new AirPods can translate languages.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
I love that in real time.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
So two people who can't speak the same language sit
at a table. One guy's talking and saying English and
the Spanish speaking person understand.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
That could revolutionize all kinds of stuff.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Absolutely could ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
I'm glad that for once, the headline isn't like there's
a better camera, you know.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Okay, they could make it so just men could understand
women better. We have a right You guys probably could
do that if you wanted to.
Speaker 4 (20:33):

I'm right back at WPOC Saturday in the country and
you know, let's see tomorrow night, it'll be Thursday Night
Football and Shaboozi is going to sing the opening Bethany.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
Yeah that's cool.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, So he's like the Carrie Underwood of Thursday Night Football.
Starting this week, I get.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Michael Jay's Music City Minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 7 (24:25):
You don't know, like you own music row.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
Yeah, And that's not the only country music news this morning.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
There's a lot going on. Let's start off with Darius Rucker.
Maybe it's just because Darius is such a cool guy
and a big star. But everybody is carrying this story.
Here's the headline in one of the outlets, Country music
star is off the market after a hard launching new relationship.
(24:51):
Doesn't that seem a little hype clickbait? Yeah, it is clickbait,
But when you click, because I'm a sucker, I always
wanted to know what they're talking about. Are you Rocker?
Oh this is so cute. Listen to this. Darius Rocker
no longer needs someone to hold his hand. Oh whatever,
this is getting a little too intense. The fifty nine
year old, very cool guy who for quite a while
(25:14):
had a relationship with a young lady in Baltimore and
spent time here. He now courses in South Carolina, but
he's dating Emily Dial And they say that he rolled
it out publicly just because he put a picture of
them together at the Sphere and he said Wizard of
(25:36):
Oz at Sphere, Vegas with my love and my boys.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Cute.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
So yeah, and I feel like they've been dating for like,
I guess I thought I knew about it, so I
thought other people did.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Apparently not, though, I mean, I guess he's just trying
to make it official. Yeah, well there's another relationship that's
been brewing. We've all known about this, but Laney Wilson,
as you know, when are they getting married? I don't know, right,
but what we can tell you regarding Laney Wilson and Duc,
her fiance, there's something that bothers her about him. And
I don't know if this is just the clickbait they're
(26:12):
trying to start up, but apparently Duc likes to spend
a lot when he goes duck hunting, likes to go out. Yeah,
that's his like hobby. Yeah, and I mean I don't
see anything wrong with that. We all, we all need
to kind of go have some fun, right, So I
think she's just teasing him perhaps, But anyway, that's what
the press is picking up on today, that that he
(26:32):
spends a lot of money duck hunting, and I guess
Laney keeps saying, hey, what about spending a few bucks
on me? I mean, he bought her the ring, you know,
and like they're getting married, they're planning a wedding.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
I'm sure what more does she want? I don't know,
but I mean I'm sure he's thinking about her. I'm
hoping he's spending money on her.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
But do you have a hobby that your partner spends
too much on? Let us know seven seven ninety six
to begin your message with higher hate or call eight
hundred three two one thirty six nine.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yeah, we'd love to know. And that is your country
music minute.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Okay, things are starting to get kind of yucky out there. Yeah,
we've got an accident on Maryland Roof four northbound at
Talbot Road. There's an accident on B to B Parkway
southbound between Rounda Mills Bolevard and one seventy five. Things
are back to for about twenty minutes there. The outer
looot between bel Air and Providence Roads looks like you're
stop and go there and then before the Harper Tunnel
stop and go for about five minutes.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
This report is sponsored by the Maryland RV Show at
the Timonium fair.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
You're on ninety three point one WPOC. Good morning. It's
Michael J.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
And Bethany are on Wednesday, September tenth. We were talking
in the Country Music Minute a few minutes ago, Bethany
about and we do this every hour at about twenty after
you find out about your favorite country stars. Landy Wilson.
I don't know if I want to say complained, but
she pointed out, let's say that her fiance Duck is
(28:22):
a duck Hodges, that he spends a lot of money,
which she thinks maybevously priviously, the frivolous priviously.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Yeah, yeah, that one. That one.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Why can I not say that anyway? That he spends
a lot of money on his duck hunting hobby. So
we kind of wondered, what about you know, our hobbies,
your hobbies that may be pricey.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Right, Do you have a partner who spends too much
on their hobby? Someone said, my husband is a collector
of things, boats, lawnmowers, cars, motors, you name it. My
yard looks like Sanford and Son, but I love him.
And then someone said, my partners into fixing cars and bikes.
The bills are shocking. And then someone else said, I
(29:08):
have two expensive hobbies. One is books. I collect books,
I buy them. I have enough to have a personal
library over a thousand, so I don't think like books
in general are expensive, but over a thousand, and you
know you get the fine you know, leather leather bound,
leather bound book.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
It probably does, and.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Probably if you're buying one every time you go out
or like, then it would add up. And then they
also said I collect Li lo and stitch items too. Wow,
collections can get kind of pricey. And are you with
a spouse who has.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
An expected, you know, expensive hobby that makes you a
little nutty.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
My, the person I'm dating collects shoe sneakers, expensive sneakers. Wow.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
And I'm like, they can add up to.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
It's not necessarily a problem for me, right, you know,
but it's a thing.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
You know, I don't know what my wife is collecting.
I just know Amazon packages show up at the spouse
every day.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
Shopping. Shopping is your hobby.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Yeah, there's a lot of Amazon packages, just like, no,
this is for our daughter, this is for common I'm like,
I'm sure it is, but it just seems like that
Amazon guy comes every day for real anyway. So what
is your hobby that you know, your pricey little hobby
that's got your your your spouse raising eyebrows.
Speaker 11 (30:29):
Text it said, I want to touch you, I want
to break it in mys, I want to grow something.
I want to sleep onmod in the comfort of your
(31:10):
all Right.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
We need you.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
If you have an expensive hobby and you're in a relationship,
that would be a part of it as well. But
it all started because of Laney Wilson's fiance. He's got
an expensive hobby. Yeah, what about you? We're just kind
of curious.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
On the text, my hobby is travel. I'm always looking
at the next vacation or next destination. I'm kind of
like that too. When I'm on a current vacation, I'm like,
where are we gonna go next?
Speaker 5 (31:38):
And then she said, if I don't show the kids
the world, who will? All right?
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Eight hundred three two one thirty six ninety three, If
you have an expensive hobby, we want to hear from
you right now.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
We need to get you on the phone.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Eight hundred three to two one thirty six ninety three.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
What is your expensive hobby? This woman says, my ex
husband has an expensive hobby. U kill me where you
want one hundred three two one thirty six ninety three and.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
You can text Michael, Jy and Bethany at seven seven
nine six y two start with hey or hi here
at ninety three point one wpoc expensive hobbies.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
That's what we're talking about.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Someone on text said, my husband has a hobby of
collecting hot wheels, new old, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
I love this. He has over twenty thousand. It must
be all over the house.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
That's insane. Someone said, my expensive hobby is concerts. My
wife does Apple games okay and bingo.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Dan says his ex wife had an expensive hobby.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Purses uh, he said.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
He said she has a separate insurance policy for that
for a person.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
That's wild. And what about you? You have an expensive hobby?
Speaker 8 (32:58):
Yes, sir, I collect Pokemon cards.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Oh my gosh, how much you figure you got wrapped
up in that?
Speaker 8 (33:07):
Probably ten twenty thousand. When I first bought my house,
I bought a full size gun safe to store them all.
Speaker 5 (33:14):
Wow. What that's amazing.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
And what is the what is the priceiest Pokemon card
that you have?
Speaker 5 (33:22):
Is it a char Sharmander? What do you have?
Speaker 8 (33:26):
So I do have a base that charges are that
graded in a nine and I think I looked it
up at somewhere between like two and two or so.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Oh all right, question if you decided to sell that,
would there be a market for that?
Speaker 5 (33:39):
Would someone buy that from you?
Speaker 6 (33:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (33:41):
So I set up by shows and do stuff like
that all the time, and I could sell it easily
if I wanted to, the problem is I just never
wanted to tell.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
You know, I'm asking because my son is always like, well,
this card is right.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
I'm like, is it really? It probably is right, Kevin?
What do you think? Yep?
Speaker 8 (34:00):
Yeah, I mean you got to get people. If he
takes it to a show, they would give him a
percentage of what the market is and then they would
sell it and make a couple of bucks off of it.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
All right, there you go, good advice. Thanks for calling, buddy. Hey,
good morning, WPOC. What is your expensive hobby?
Speaker 6 (34:17):
My husband has an expensive hobby.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
He's an owner operator of his.
Speaker 7 (34:21):
Own trucking company. Okay, and he hasn't made money in
fifteen years, so the irs considers that a hobby.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Cool? Wow, Okay, Yeah, what is the difference between a
hobby and a career? I guess when you make money,
it becomes a career.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Right.
Speaker 7 (34:38):
Yes, When the irs says you haven't made money at it,
they consider the hobby.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Is this your regular husband or your ex husband?
Speaker 5 (34:49):
Thanks for calling. I appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You know, if you have a husband who's got a hobby,
but he's got Pokemon cards, what do you call that?
Speaker 5 (34:58):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (34:59):
My gosh. Someone said, my expensive hobby is lego. Oh
you know, they can get crazy expensive. I have a
buddy who works at a radio station with me, and
he has a whole like sideline where he buys all
of these these kits, these Lego kits.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yeah, and there are several hundred, there's three four, five
hundred dollars and he doesn't open them. He keeps them
and then the when Lego moves on and they become.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
UHI sold out or yeah, yes, he puts them up
and he sells them and he makes a fortune.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Ninety three point one w POC traffic.
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Someone else said door dash is my hobby. I think
I was collecting last night. Yeah, alright.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
The outer loop between ninety five and Providence Road is
stop and go eight ninety five southbound between Pulaski Highway
and the Harbor Tunnel. It looks like you're stopping go
