Speaker 1 (00:00):
So well, the bars might be closed, but the Maryland
State Fair is open for one more weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Who's ready for the Fair?
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Yes, go dore Go, get some livestock and some some
I like those elephant ears. I don't know what kind
of good fair food they have this year, but I've
got they have.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Let me tell you something, they have chocolate covered cheesecake
this year. You're talking serious now, I'm telling you, all right, Well,
there's another thing that I saw that.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Looked really good, chocolate covered cheese. And I was like thinking.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
I was like, I might go over there just to get.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Point one wpoc Beth and easebree, all the things you
need to know to get you day started.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
All right, Traffic is going to be crazy in Baltimore tomorrow.
The Maryland Cycling Classic starts at five thirty am.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Several streets will be closed.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Then it's the cal Ripken Anniversary game tomorrow and a
sold out Benson Boon concert. So basically, you know, take
take the light rail, take you know other routes.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Maybe you won't be walking. I don't know what you
want to do.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
So is the cycling deal right around downtown in the
Inner Harbor, right there's it looks like it's I mean,
you have to there's maps on love, but it's a
lot of roads.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Like they're basically saying, like most of the city. Yeah, uber,
time to uber.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, try to keep the traffic to a minimum if
you can. President Trump plans to issue an executive order
today authorizing the Department of Defense to become the Department
of War as a secondary titling, aiming to project a tougher,
more assertive military posture.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I think one of the departments should be the Department
of Country, and you and I should be in charge.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Okay, I like that. Why not? Yeah, we could be
in charge of all country music.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Giorgio Armani, Italian designer who transformed modern fashion, died at
his home.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
In Milan at the age of ninety one.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
The arman A Group confirmed his passing yesterday, saying he
died peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Here's something for you
to play along with on the track seven seven nine
six two, begin your message with higher Hay. Foreigner has
officially offered to be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's wedding band, The.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Foreigner the rock band. Yeah, those guys are like ninety
I know, but it made me think.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
If you could pick any band to be your wedding band,
who would you pick?
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Alabama? You wouldn't have Alabama, I don't think so. Mountain Music.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Randy would drink everything at the bar.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, yeah, that's true. You might have a beverage. Who
would I want? I think Morgan Wallen would be cool. Okay,
you know what I mean? Like that would be I mean,
can you imagine.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Seven seven nine six two? Begin your message with higher
hay to play along? What country artist do you want
at your wedding?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
We want to hear White Lotus is headed to France
for season four. As people were suspecting, I'm excited about that.
Rain Wilson you remember him, He played Dwight Shroot on
the Office. Yes, he says he's gonna step way from acting. Why, Well,
he wants to be this is interesting. He wants to
be a death doula. This is someone who helps families
(03:10):
and people facing death with dignity, reflection and hope.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well that's nice, isn't that interesting? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I had a friend once who worked at Stella Marris
Stella Maris. I guess I'm said to say it, and
you know, she said she you know, saw a lot
of people at the end of their life, and I'm like,
isn't that depressing. She's like, no, it's actually it's it's
quite lovely. It's rewarding because you're doing something important for people.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
That's what you said.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Yeah, yeah, we know that there's a blue movie happening,
and now we have a date August sixth, twenty twenty seven.
I feel like most of the Bluey kids are going
to be in college. And lastly this weekend, don't forget
that using your smartphone on the toilet has a forty
six percent higher hemorrhoid risk.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, I heard about that. The longer you sit there
with your phone, the more you're going to end up
like me, get off the toyoc traffic and you know what,
I have that problem. I'm dealing with it and it's
not fun. I don't recommend the Royds. I do not
recommend noted.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
We will all note that there's an accident on Hill
N Road south of Argon Drive.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Looks like if you congratulations to Bailey.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Zimmerman and Luke Combs with the backup plan there. They
just hit number one with that. So they had a
little celebration in Nashville. I don't know if you heard
about this, but but Bailey, he posted on his social media.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
He says, this is how I celebrate.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Had himself a nice, medium rare steak dinner and a
tall cold glass of chocolate milk. That's what he had,
chocolate milk and steak.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
No, I feel like, if you're a grown up that
drinks chocolate milk, we have to we have to have chat.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
He's still got a milk mustache. All right, We'll get
to the rest of the country music update with Michael
Jay's Music City Minute, but we have some texts coming
in first.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah, so you had mentioned that last night at the
football game that there was a spitting incident. Oh, it's bad,
So Chris says, I just want to say I love
your show. I'm a huge fan of the Cowboys, and
I feel like both sides were at fault last night.
Dak Prescott spit in the direction of Jalen Carter. However,
(05:29):
that did not give Jaalen the right to spit on DK.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Well, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I don't think the cameras happened to catch if Dak
Prescott did instigate it, right, we only saw the spit
that was heard around the world.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Emily says, I am so happy it's Friday. I'm going
to the Renaissance Festival this weekend. I'm super excited. The
last time I went when I was ten, two decades ago.
Big deal because you know, it's like sold out. You
can't get those tickets. It's very hard. She's gonna wear
a Dragon Slayer Okay, outfit?
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Okay, Uh says oh.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I forgot to mention when Dak spit in the direction
of Jalen Carter last night. It was before Jalen Carter
spit on him. Oh, okay, so that really worked up
about that. Yeah, okay. As far as the wedding singers go,
because Foreigner said that they would sing at Travis and
Taylor's wedding. I want to know what love is Foregner,
no one to ask you, Craig says Cody Johnson. Someone
(06:23):
said Brooks and Dunn, someone said Old Dominion, Chris Stapleton
sounds amazing, Nico.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Moon Okay, so those are some of the all right.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Michael Jay's music sitting minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
You gon't know like you.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Own music road Oh wait a minute, No Purple Friday
for me, I'm wearing black and gold Ghost Steeler.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Send back to Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
All right, Well, you mentioned Old Dominion somebody would like
to have at their wedding.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah. Coincidentally, Old Dominion is going to be hanging with
us tomorrow night. Do you know about this?
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Every Saturday night, you're on ninety three point one DOWDPOC
at seven pm, we have the iHeart Country House Party
and Old Dominion joins us to talk about their album Barbara.
They'll share with you how they're comfortable now. Things are
going so well because the guys have been together forever.
They've been the country music group of the year for
(07:20):
like the last three hundred years.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yes, so I don't miss that.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Tomorrow night at seven you're on ninety three point one WDPOC.
Laneye Wilson is making headlines this morning. Listen to what
she's up to. She is being honored by thirty six
family farms across twenty five states and Canada this fall.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Listen to what these people are doing for her.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
All right, they are cutting her likeness into their cornfields
for the corn maze. That's cool, and so you can
get lost in Laney this year.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Wow, isn't that wild?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
In her bell bottoms exactly the tradition previously honored Reba
in twenty twenty three, Luke Bryan in twenty twenty four.
And now this is gonna be wild getting lost in Laney.
So look for a crop circle or a corn maze
near you. It's happening all across the US.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic all right, Green Belly Road.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Now that song will forever remind me of riding the Himalaya.
You know the ride at the State Fair where you're
in it like a car, it's a train. It goes
around in a circle, up and down the hills and
you start whipping and then you go backwards. Yeah, and
they always have a song like that when playing really loud.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I like that Ryan a lot.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
In the country. You're going to get to the Maryland
State Fair this weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Ride the Himalaya.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Well, maybe you know, I'll get some cotton candy, go
check out the cattle. Maybe there'll be a little goat,
baby ghost, something being born. There's usually like a cow
being born or you know, something really cool.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
It is fun.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
So that's that's doing this weekend, final weekend of the fair.
You're at ninety three point one w POC Michael J
and Bethany. You had something you wanted to bring to
our attention.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Bethany, All right, here, we're gonna have a little fun
on Friday.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
We're gonna make fun of each other.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Okay, Which job or career attracts the most toxic.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
People stand up comedians?
Speaker 6 (09:28):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, because stand up comedians always like to make fun
of everybody that's in the front row.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
They like to kind of pick on people.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
They all are doing it to validate something inside. And
I say that as someone who's done Yeah, but I
think they do exactly well.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
I would say our business has a lot of a
lot of What about cuckoo people?
Speaker 1 (09:50):
And what about the guys or girls when you walk
into a festival or fair and they want to guess
your weight or your age?
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Right?
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Yeah, like, uh, come over here. If I get it
within three years, you know I win. You don't get anything.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
You just want to be like, what's wrong with you?
Speaker 6 (10:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I know, why would you want that job? Happened to you?
Somebody drop you on your head. I feel like you
need to do this.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
How about you know I worked in restaurant for a
long time. There are a lot of people in the
restaurant business that are.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
A little toxic.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Well, you know, it's a tough job. I will defend them,
but there are people who have a lot of different
problems who happen to work in that line of work.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Sure, or does that?
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Well, then it begs the question like, do you have
the problem first or do you have it because you're
in your business?
Speaker 2 (10:39):
That's true? Did your job make you toxic? Right? Exactly?
Question seven?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Seven nine six to begin your message with higher, Hey,
what do you do? Does it attract a lot of
toxic people?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Are you one of them?
Speaker 1 (10:50):
We would love to hear from you this morning. Eight
ninety three, Come on, give us a buzz.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Who broke who? She's in hit Jason Tequila with her?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
No, don't know how she's a moving No.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Oregan Wallen kind of the theme theme song for Toxic Jobs.
You're in ninety three point one WPOC Michael j and Bethany.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Politicians. Oh yeah, well politicians would have to be number one.
What about HR people?
Speaker 1 (11:25):
We have a really nice HR person here, but that
position does tend you know, I would say anybody who
works in accounting all day.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
I feel for you because.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
You sit at a desk, you're you're, you know, looking
at figures and numbers and spreadsheets Excel reports.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Does that make you a little nutty? Well, I'm talking
about the the HR people that like, no I know.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
But they work in the same sort of situation. Yeah,
because HR is working with LAKE. I know Alice, who
is our HR person. She's responsible for figuring out paychecks
and all that stuff. HR kind of overlaps, Yeah, a
little bit, right, you know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (12:06):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Someone said that you're one hundred percent right about the
food service industry. I've been working in it for thirty
seven years. The level of toxicity never ceases to amaze me.
Twenty years in active military food service. OMG, they bring
toxic to a whole new level. You know what I
think happens.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
It's kind of like the fails, say for the catch
all in the restaurant business. It's like, well, if you
can't you know, if you lose your job, or if
you're looking for another position, or like you need something temporarily,
well I can always wait tables.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It's fallback, you.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
It's a fallback and nothing against it, because people in
the food service industry, that's a great career.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I mean you well, I always think that you should
work in a job like that at least for a
little bit of your life, because then you have an
appreciation for kindness in a way that.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
And you also really start learning customer service, you know
what I mean, one on one.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Once you deal with the public like that, and I
wonder you toxic. That's what I grew up in. So
maybe I'm toxic. I don't know. But I was in
food service my whole you know, I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Yeah, I was doing room service and you know, waiting
bus boys, all that stuff. But I noticed as a
kid that a lot of older people fell back into
waiting jobs when their.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Lives were kind of hitting turbulence. No no, no, they
need a little extra cat.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
So I think that might have brought the toxicity right
into it at that point.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
I think it's very interesting how different jobs collect different people.
Like I had a best friend in college who was like,
if you met her, you'd be like, she's like a
kindergarten teacher, and then sure enough she becomes a kindergarten teacher.
Like there's just certain jobs that like attract certain people.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
It's very interesting. Yeah, it is. We love to hear
from you.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
You can tax seven seven nine six two start with
hay or high. You can also call us anything you want.
Call us anything you want, but call us eight hundred
three to two one thirty six ninety three ninety.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
There's an accident with the right lane blocked on US
fifty eastbound at Naylor Mill Road. There's an accident on
twenty nine southbound at one hundred. It looks like it's
the end of the ramp from twenty nine to one hundred,
but it's causing issues on both roads. We're slow in
b Tow Parkway southbound between Rounda Mills Boulevard and NSSA.
And there's an accident with a vehicle fire on Hillen
(14:34):
Road at Argonne Road.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
We told everybody at WPOC Saturday in the country we
were giving away a bazillion dollars and we're gonna do
it this morning a little after seven. Sometime around seven
oh five ish, you will have a chance to identify
correctly to the dollar how much is in high low
jackpot number two. Get it correct, and the money is yours.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
You got a fast car.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
It's fast enough so we can fly away still and
to make a decision leave to not even dynasty.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
There's Luke Combs with this fast car. Michael j and Bethany.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Ninety three point one WOC.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Bethany's breathing all the things you need to know to
get your day started.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
You can add this to the to the lineup, Bethany,
just looking it up.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I gotta go.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
The largest good Will store in the region opened in
Laurel yesterday and they say it's twenty two thousand square feet.
They created twenty new jobs. You know, there's a good
Will here on York Road. My wife shops at. She
also makes donations. She says it's kind of fun when
(16:01):
you go in your shop and you're like, oh, I
recognize that.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Sweaters, my old pants.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I feel like the Savers in Parkville is mostly my clothes.
Is that right? I think that's funny. Well, anyways, so
if you're into that thing and you like to like
to shop, I love a thrift moment.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
The largest Goodwill store in the region that is in Laurel.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
You can look that up. I'm gonna get down there
this weekend. So that's where I'll be.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
You're not gonna wanna go downtown Baltimore if you don't
have a reason to. Tomorrow because the Maryland Cycling Classics
starts at five thirty tomorrow, several streets will be closed,
and then of course the Cal Ripkin Anniversary game tomorrow
one and the sold out Benson Boone concert also tomorrow
at CFG. So lots of stuff going on downtown, you know. So,
(16:47):
like I said, if you don't need to be down there. Yeah,
remember Cal Ripkin Junior is now a senior. You've seen
that ad?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Is that what it is? Say, it's been thirty years
and he's like, I'm now he's advertising like terms and
some vitamins. He's now a senior. He's still junior. Congrats
Cal thirty years though. It's amazing, pretty cool. I mean
it seems like yesterday.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Yeah, when they said it was the thirtieth aniversary, I
was like racing all right. So President Trump is expected
to sign an executive order today authorizing the US Department
of Defense to switch over to the Department of War.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Giorgio Armani, the Italian designer who transformed modern fashion, died
yesterday at the age of ninety one. So we talked
about this a little bit earlier and we got some
fun responses. Foreigner has offered to be Taylor Swift and
Travis Kelsey's wedding band.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
I don't see them accepting that. I think they say
thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
But no thanks.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Now we're all set here, But if you want to
weigh in on who you'd like your wedding band to be,
we had a lot of great suggestions earlier. The White Lotus.
I'm so excited for season four. They're going to shoot
that in France this year. People thought that that was
going to happen, and now it has been confirmed. There's
a new Bluey movie happening. We knew that already, but
(18:07):
we just didn't know when it was going to come out.
Now they say that the film version of Blue will
hit theaters August sixth, twenty twenty seven, which I think
is wild because Blue fans will be in elementary school.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
That's funny.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
And now another reminder for you that using your smartphone
on the toilet will increase your risk of hemorrhoids by
forty six percent.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
I think it's also going to increase your risk of
a cold. You know, what I mean, like I just
in fact, we need to have wipes for the phone
as well, if you know what I'm saying. Oh yeah,
because you're.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
On the toilet and yeah, there's germs frost. They say
that your phone is the dirtiest object that you touch
all day.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Oh and it's in your hand most of the time.
Oh all right, And that's everything that's going on. I mean,
that's that's a good majority of it. There is something
you left out. Yeah, it's it's it's.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
It's your chance to win up to twenty five hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
It's ninety three point one POC's High Low Cash context.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
A big congratulations to Josh Kraft from Stuartstown.
Speaker 6 (19:17):
Kay Jay.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
He won yesterday's jackpot of two thousand, one hundred fifteen.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Dollars, So that means it's a good chunk of change.
That's a lot.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
So we are now working on High Low jackpot number two.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yes, we've had two guesses so far. I cannot tell
you what they were.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Why I can't tell you what they were.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
No, they were somewhere between one dollar and two thousand,
five hundred dollars, right, they were in there. And here's
your opportunity to shake it and take it. All you
need to do is be the ninth caller eight hundred
three two one thirty six ninety three guests correctly to
(19:59):
the dollar. How much is in high low jackpot number
two and the money.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Is going to you?
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic Josh one two grand
over two grand.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
I was so excited when I saw that yesterday.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
I was like, Oh, yeah, Tony, what do than dollar
costs one hundred and fifteen dollars more?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
I'm really excited for him, all right. An accident on
twenty nine southbound at one hundred. It looks like it's
written on the ramp, so it's affecting both roads. US
fifty eastbound at Naylor Mill Road. An accident there has
the right lane blocked. BNW Parkway southbound between a run
of the Mills, Bowlvard and NSA is slow. Green Valley Road
northbound in southbound at Rep Road still closed due to
an earlier accident. The vehicle fire on Hillan south of
(20:43):
Oregon is causing some issues there. Thirty two southbound at
Copper Drive is closed right now due to an accident.
In Carroll County and Saint Paul Street southbound at twenty fifth.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
All right, Lisa just texted she knew the text number
seven seven nine sixty two, which he's like, help, what's
the number to call for the high Load jackpot? Well,
we want to make sure you get it. If you're
a new listener here, it's eight hundred three two one.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Nineteen thirty six ninety three thirty. What is it? Am
I giving it? One?
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Eight hundred three two one three two one thirty six
ninety three.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
I think it was given up my home numbers before.
It is sponsored by BGE and Empower Maryland. There's no
time like the president tell me who I'll make you one.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
It's time for the ninety three point one w POC
high Load Jackpot.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Right, Linda, Linda Smith Bethany Okay, Linda, I bet you
want to win the big chunk of money he wins
at one thousand, two thousand, somewhere between one and twenty
five one hundred dollars.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
Who do it?
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Right?
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Well, Linda, if you've been paying attention, we started a
new high load jackpot yesterday after Josh hit us up
for twenty one hundred and fifteen dollars. Maybe you're going
to be next on the winners list. What you need
to do is tell us to the dollar.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
Now.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
You can't be off by you gotta be right on
the money, like they say, how much is in the
high load jackpot number two? And if you get to correct,
the money's yours. So, having said all that, just giving
her a minute to think about it, because she's nervous,
All right, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Nine hundred and thirty one dollars.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
So, Linda, you're going with ninety three point one. You
kind of like that number?
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Huh? Is that what it is?
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (22:51):
I do? All right? Are you going to lock that
in or do you want to change your mind? I'm
gonna lock it. Sure. I can't talk you out of it. No, Bethany,
she's hard headed.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
I get that from she said a nine hundred thirty
one dollars. Well, Linda, that's too low, Lindah, Bethany, what
do we tell her?
Speaker 8 (23:24):
Get lost? Lindy, that's not much sorry, trying to get
at nine ten, nine ten, nine ten. That is what
time will play again.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Michael Jay's Music City minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
You don't know like you own music.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Row, Well, we told you about Laney Wilson.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
I don't know if you heard this in the earlier report,
but what an honor for Laney being cut into the
cornfields at thirty six family farms. That's amazing. Yeah, a
huge image of Laney Wilson. I don't know if she's
wearing bell bottomed jeans.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
What do you wear? I'm sure what do you wear?
Speaker 1 (24:04):
So, yeah, if you find one of these family farms,
they're going to be playing Laney Wilson's music as you
walk through, and there's gonna be life size Laney cutout
so you can take a picture with.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
And it's a whole Laney experience.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
And some of the farms are even giving away autograph
copies of her Whirlwind Deluxe album.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
It's pretty cool. I'm looking to see what this looks like. Yeah,
it's gotta be online somewhere.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
It's not.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
It's not a I'm imagining it's just like a profile
of her.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
It's not.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
It's like her name and like boots and like kinds
of stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
So it can be an actual maze. Got it?
Speaker 1 (24:42):
So you're actually getting lost in Laney. Yeah, it looks
really cool. Visitors can enter to win these these prizes
and it's a big deal. So half fun if you're
a Laney Wilson fan at a farm near you. The
new album from Thomas Rhett is coming out September twenty sixth. Yeah,
I wanted to let you I know about this. It's
called About a Woman the Deluxe Edition, So if you're
(25:04):
a Thomas Rhett fan, look for that. Mark Drury releases
a video of Morgan Wallen harvesting a massive Iowa buck.
Morgan went in the woods, he had a good night
out there on the deer stand, but the next day
he says he was shocked. His jaw dropped. He was
(25:26):
just amazed by the size and the uniqueness of this
enormous deer that walked right out in the field in
front of him.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
And then Morgan did what Morgan had to do. You know,
I try to keep it family friendly around here, but
you know what he was doing, he was harvesting.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
So so congratulations to Morgan, who says he had a
great time in Iowa.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
That is your music City minute ninety.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
There's an next dent on twenty nine southbound at one hundred.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
It's on the ramp, affecting.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Both the ramp and twenty nine, So it's kind of
a big situation there. There's an accident on US fifty
eastbound after Kneeler Hill Road.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
And then there's an accident with the fire on hill
in south of Argonne By.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Ninety three point one w POC's High Low Cash Contest is.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
On and pomping my sheeeze somebody's daughter.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Ninety three point one WPOC.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Well, last Saturday, it was WPOC Saturday in the country.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
This weekend we kick off a brand new football season.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
For a Ravens.
Speaker 6 (26:59):
Yay.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
It is this Purple Friday, Baltimore. This all is exciting
all seven of our family members. I hope you're all
dressed up in your Ravens gear. I've got mine on.
I have yet to see any pictures coming in on
our WPOC Facebook. I need to put that up on
Instagram as well. And you should be following us at
Michael j and Bethany.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
We want to see your gear. What are you rocking?
Speaker 3 (27:23):
When I first moved to this area, they told me
every Friday is Purple Friday, and I was like, Okay,
I had no idea how serious it is.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Okay, you have to confess right here, come clean, Okay,
you used to be on the other side of enemy lines.
We will be playing the Bills on Sunday Night Football.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
You know Carrie Underwood is going to debut her new
season of Sunday Night Football opening, right, She's going to
sing about the Ravens and she might have to mention
the Bills too. I don't know sure, but in Buffalo,
do they have any kind of weekly you know, get
together or throw down or what.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Do they do?
Speaker 3 (28:04):
When I was a child, I was raised a Bills fan,
and I know it was it was quite rough because
I was I remember being little and when they're a
string of Super Bowl losses year after year, I remember,
and yeah, we used to wear what are those what
are those pants called the zoom zoomba pants?
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Okay, yeah, the pajama pants.
Speaker 6 (28:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
And we would wear you know, Bill's shirts okay, uh,
paint our faces for school, like we were so excited.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
But did you have like a Friday celebration?
Speaker 3 (28:36):
I don't remember it being like like this is called
when you are in Baltimore, it's called Purple Friday.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
So a period, it's like trademark, that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
It wasn't really like that, but see I would celebrate
Purple Friday if I were in the state of New
York or anywhere, I would still be like, what's Purple Friday?
Speaker 7 (28:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Of course it's like a holiday here exactly.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Yeah, the sports fans in Baltimore are better than sports
fans anyway.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Thank you bring your bell for Baltimore sports fan. It's
so true.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
We have the best Baltimore sports fans because even.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
If the Orioles just totally well, you know, we're still
behind them.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
I Orios.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
I love the Orioles, but I'm furious with the still
you'll still wear the shirt? No, I love I mean
I bleed orange when I'm not bleeding purple.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
But here's here's what we want to do.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
We're curious since this is week one Sunday Night football. Uh,
next to the Ravens having a great you know performance, right,
the next most important thing is what's the spread? Look like,
I'm not saying about the point spread, talking about your
halftime deal because.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Well it's not even halftime food.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
It starts today with like the Purple Friday, like doughnuts
and right, got coffees and all this, and then and
then what are you eating at tailgate?
Speaker 2 (29:48):
What are you eating at halftime like it's the food situation.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
We want to know what your brain goes to because
growing up in Buffalo, there was no.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Question chicken wings. It was just Buffalo wings and pizza.
That's chicken wings greasy.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
But here, I mean the possibilities are endless. No, we're
not doing chicken wings or pizza though. In fact I
heard that some people are banning wings from their.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
Especially this week. Yeah, it's gotta be pitt beef. It's
got to be something.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Well, let's good.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Let's see what you're thinking. The line is open, something
with crabs in it.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I don't know. Some crab dip would be great.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
God eight one hundred three two one thirty six ninety
three mouths Water Ravens fan, we want to hear from you.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
You always had a nap and things. Wesy call you
dog dog? Yeah? Was he call you dog? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (30:47):
Losy calling you darling?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Hey darling? Ninety three point one w poc.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
What do you like to have during a Ravens game? Oh,
she's she's whipping up the blender over there in that place.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Somebody on said, we have pumpkin spice lattes and end
every home game. We also always try to have a
spread of whatever team we're playing against is known for.
It's kind of fun. In this case, they are going
to have Buffalo Wings, of course. And then someone from
Buffalo said, hey, Buffalo girl here and every day is
a Bill's day.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Not just Friday.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
Knock it off.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Are you a Ravens fan?
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (31:28):
And you know what I'm upset about? What when I
hear in other stadiums. That takes a lot of nerve
when I hear that in Buffalo or some other far
you know, away place.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Are you with me on the phone?
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Yeah, I'm here.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
That your only legally be able to be to song
in Baltimore. You should not be able to say, oh
oh anywhere else but Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Are you with me on that? All right?
Speaker 6 (31:59):
What is your yeah?
Speaker 3 (32:01):
What is your name in the stadium? My name is McKenzie.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
All right, McKenzie. So when you think of the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
This weekend against the Bills, do you have any lucky
food that you need to prepare or eat?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Hm?
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Uh, it would have to.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Be Oh, here we go again with the wings. All right, McKenzie.
I feel like McKenzie's like a low key Bills fan.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Well, we're not gonna accept that we only have Ravens
fans here.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Now you can share for your team.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
I even met a Steelers fan down the Ocean a
couple of days ago. I came out of Uber Bagels,
which is up like at one hundred and twenty sixty
three to whatever, and he's sitting there with his wife
and he's got a Steeler's hat on.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
And I walk over to him and I go, excuse me,
excuse me. I don't think they let Steelers fans in
time for you to go, sir No, I said.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
I'm just kidding, and then I remembered I had a
Raven's hat on, which was kind of funny. But we
talked and I said, no, there's a there's even a
Steelers bar down in Ocean City. Yeah, Bob Bemont, y'all
need to stay in that building.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
That's the only place we want will allow you to be.
So what are you.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Going to be enjoying during the Ravens win on Sunday?
Speaker 3 (33:20):
I like, well, okay, I think that it's confusing about
what to eat when it's still hot out?
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Is it really? Personally?
Speaker 3 (33:30):
I love like a chili and a football and here
it's like because maybe in Buffalo it's always gold.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Like it's always like it's true.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
We can have chili, we can have wings, we can
you know, But here it's like it's still kind of
barbecue and it's.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
The first week and it so there's that kind of
yeah it is. But crab dip would be good. Right,
you got your chases and salsa, you got your wieners.
I have to have some wieners, of course, don't you
like those ninety three point one poc traffic hot dog?
You know, Italian sausage goes every time? Right, that's a
good one.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
But you gotta start getting your head together around what's
gonna happen because this is just week one. Now, we
have a lot on TV this weekend, next several games
because we're on the road.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Ravens are traveling. When's their home game.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
I'll look this calendar up here in a second, all right,
I'll give you the traffic twenty nine southbound at one hundred.
An accident they're affecting twenty nine and one hundred because
it's on the ramp. We're stopping going ninety seven southbound
between Crane Highway and General's Highway. The outer loop is
slow between bel Air Road and Pairing Parkway. And then
there's an accident. I got a text there's an accident
on Killing and Northern Parkway and it looks like.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
It might be shut down right now.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Ooh wow really completely Yeah all right, so at the
bills this week. Then the Browns are at m at
Bank on the fourteenth, which is week two. But we
have to travel a lot. After we play the Lions,
we're at the chie Yis. We are just traveling all
(35:03):
over the place.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
But the Browns are not good, right, so we should
win that one. What we should win all the
