Speaker 1 (05:24):
No, all right, all right, Jamie, all right, So a wedding.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Listen to this.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
This wedding, though, came together in less than twenty four hours,
So that the fuck a shotgun wedding. No no, no, no,
no no no. Let me share the story, so listen.
Grace and Grace and Thomas were in love and decided
they wanted to get married. In fact, they were supposed
to have their wedding next month in Colorado, but the
(05:50):
bride's father's health began declining quickly and they made a
sudden change of plans, and within twenty four hours, they
planned the wedding at the nursing home where the dad is.
And he's fighting stage four cancer, pancreatic cancer.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
So he did really want to make it.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
To Colorado, the bride said, but this week he's just
been in decline. So the nursing staff were nice enough
to help plan this and they put the whole thing together.
The wedding team came together, like I said, in less
than twenty four hours. The couple held the ceremony at
the Northwest Community Hospital in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights,
(06:35):
where Dan Benway has been receiving his treatments. He's been
fighting so much. He's incredible. It speaks to him and
who he is as a person, Grace says about her father.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
The change of.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Date gave Grace's dad the chance to take his daughter
and walk her down the aisle. There's a clip that
was on Channel five in Chicago that shows Dan in
a wheelchair, sporting blacks on glasses, a gray suit, a
red tie, and he shared a hug with his daughter.
The duo appeared to exchange a few words before gliding
(07:08):
hand in hand down the aisle, surrounded by family and
members of the hospital's medical staff.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
So that is the good news.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
There now a married couple, Grace and Thomas, and Dan
was able to be there and walk well, actually roll
is because he was in a wheelchair, so roll his
daughter down the aisle and be there for all the
ceremony because he wasn't gonna be able to make Colorado.
So that is good news. Nice, tell me that's not
good news. Come on, you know what that's great news. Yes,
(07:38):
it is. Jamie Now let's see if Bethany can beat me.
This is good, all right, let's see if yours is
good her go ahead.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
All right, you're you're kind of outdoorsy, Jamie, so you're
gonna understand this.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Heathery went for a hike, okay, of course, in the
beautiful Idaho wilderness. All right, she parked her car and
she went hiking. But nobody heard from Heather for two days.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Oh wait a minute, she's out.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Hold on a second, So she's out in the beautiful wilderness,
and hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh no, the boy,
hold on night. We got to stop the wedding because
we're out in the wilderness.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Now, here's Heather. She's hiking.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
All right, it's beautiful, right, But then all of a sudden,
what happens.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
We don't hear from her for two days. Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
My family gets really worried, right, so they put out
an all call. Huh. They're like, you know, if anyone's
seen this woman, we're really worried about her.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Blah blah blah. She's on the news, la la lah.
Now cut to right.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Some some brothers who were out on their dirt bikes
in the same wilderness are.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
You kidding me.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
They're riding bikes out in the wilderness.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Let's they're having a great time, right when all of
a sudden, what happened? They come across a woman who's scared,
half naked, feet bleeding.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Why she half naked? Why is she bleeding?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Because she's disoriented, because she's been in the wilderness.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
For two days? Oh my god. Then one of them.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Says, I think this is the woman from the news
that everybody's looking for.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Right it was.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
It was Heather, And they were like, oh my god,
we have to get her to safety. So they one
of the dirt bikers threw her on the back of
the bike and took her to a clearing where a
helicopter came.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh my god, and lifted her to safety. There was
a lot going on in these woods.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
These dirt bikers, Uh huh were heroes. They found Heather,
who'd been missing for two days. She was bleeding, she
was disoriented, she was hungry, she was dehydrated, And they
are heroes.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
They are true dirt biker heroes. Uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
But look, Dan was able to be at his daughter's
wedding because they put it together in twenty four hours
and had it at the hospital nursing home.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Jamie, you gotta go with my story, Jamie. Yeah, yeah,
number one. What's Jimmie, Jamie, we had an agreement.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Oh, I love Jamie, Jamie you are I'm sorry. Yeah,
she's going with the goodest of the gooder news.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Thank you, Jimmy. I want to give a shout off
to my kids, Grace, Riley and Maby. There you go, Grace,
Riley and Macy. Your mom is going to have a
ball this week as she doesn't really have great taste.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
In great taste, kids, you've got the smartest mom on
the planet.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Ninety three point one says, how's the room? But you're
traveling along. There's one day here and the next day going.
Sometimes you've been, sometimes you say it. Sometimes you turn
to get back to win. If there's a world outside,
every dunk any doors. But he was wanting to watch
you anymore.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
There
