Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mike and Diane's second date update on ninety five point
one w A y V. James from e h T
is looking for a second date update with a woman
named Alexa.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Good morning, James, Hey, good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
How's it going.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well, it's okay. I was wondering if you could help
me out with this.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Okay, we will definitely try.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
So please tell us about Alexa and your first date
will start there.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Great. So, yeah, the date went well. We met because
we actually worked together, and so we went out for
a few drinks and I thought it was a really
good time, and I thought she was having a really
good time. One thing I made sure to do was
to ask her a lot of questions about her. I
just wanted to make sure that I didn't make it

(00:47):
all about me. So I was really, you know, just
trying to learn more about her and make it make
it more about her.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Oh that's kind of nice, especially on a first date,
to get to know more about her. All right, you
didn't see Oh, but I assume you're not hearing anything
back from her?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Is the point why you're calling.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Us, right? Yeah, that's what my problem is is I
haven't heard anything back from her, and I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Why?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
All right, Well, that's where we come into place. And
what we'll do is put you on hold. We'll play
a song and we'll try to get Alexa on the
phone at least get some answers. And that is coming
up next on ninety five point one WayV. Ninety five
point one WayV. It's Mike and Diane with second date update.
A few minutes ago, James told us about his first
date with Alexa. James, you said you worked together, you

(01:36):
went out for a few drinks. You asked her a
lot about herself, got to really know her. It sounds
like on a first date. But you haven't heard anything
back from her, which is so frustrating. So let's get
right to it. Here we go, James, you were giving
her a call.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
See what happens.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Hello, Hi, is this Alexa speaking.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Good Mornings Mike and Diane from ninety five point one
WayV Radio. There's Mike, my co host on the radio show.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yes, there he is. Well, please don't hang out, guy.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
We know it's a little weird, but we were wondering
if you have a few minutes because we got a
call from James and James was telling us he went
on a date with you. He spoke very highly of
you and the date, and he just hasn't heard anything
back from you, so on his behalf, could you let
us know why you're not calling him we're texting?

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Yeah, I guess yeah, that's it's pretty simple. Here's the thing.
James is a nice guy, but he just kept interrupting me.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Oh like in what way?

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Like he was asking me a bunch of questions, but
he wasn't actually listening to my answers. He'd like ask
a question, I'd get like halfway through an answer, and
then he'd like rapid fire another question at me. It's
like he was more concerned about out, like getting out
the question in his heads and actually hearing what I
was saying.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Oh okay, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
He did tell us that he did ask you a
lot of questions because he wanted to get to know you,
but he he left out the part where he wasn't
listening to the response.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
The answer was yeah, yeah, Like you can't get to
know someone if you're not listening to what the bress said.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
You know that. That's like, I have a question, but
I can't yet can I Can I just do it? James, James,
do you work in HR, like you conduct interviews for
a living.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah, James has been listening in Yeah, not to interview.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yeah, everybody looking for a job just realize that they
don't listen to your answers.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
They just roll off the questions and okay, sorry, James,
I didn't mean the entire job, but yeah, okay, I like, does.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
That make sense, James? Oh yeah, she said Lexus.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
And I that that does make sense because it did
kind of feel like I was in an interview.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
But it sounds like you passed the interview because he
got in touch with us.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
So that's a good thing. Yeah, well, okay, that's not
interrow anyway.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
You two please go ahead and talk it out.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Hey, Alexa, I'm sorry if I made you feel like
you were in an interview. I guess I'm used to
doing that. And also I was pretty nervous. I like
you a lot, and yeah, I just want to learn
more about you. So I was listening. I promise.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I was just excited that that was a good answer.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
That is a good answer because I can all right,
hold on, no, I don't want to save the go ahead.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Yeah, I mean that's really sweet. I get that. I
just you know, it just It threw me. I was like,
what's the point of me hanging out with this person
if they aren't actually interested in getting to know me,
you know, if they can't listen to what I'm saying?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Right, Okay, my turn, Alexa. When you are nervous, I'll
tell you this, you usually go back to what you're
very comfortable in. And he was clearly nervous, and he's
comfortable doing, you know, talking in that sense, you know
what I'm saying, like he that's how he he reverted
back into that because you made him nervous, which is

(05:22):
a big compliment for me personally in my career. When
I get nervous, I talk more, which is a double
whammy of suck for everyone involved. James just kind of
asks you questions, which makes it kind of sweet.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
He's interested.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Imagine what it would be like when he's not nervous
around you and he actually has a conversation about it.
And he's clearly a good listener because he can hear
you while he's asking the next one.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
That's a talent. That really is why I don't.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I don't know James at all, but yeah, I'm here
trying to save the day.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
I was gonna say.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
You're really you're buying for him your.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
By power.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
I thought he explained it well, but I have to
get to the question. So, James, you're the one who
called us. I'm hoping you would want a second date
now that you've heard Alexi's side of the story. It
would be on us and now you know, just take
a little slower, not so many questions.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So would you want to do that? If she said yes?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, absolutely, When I'm less learned, just I can have
a real conversation.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
I promise that's cool.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I like it, Alexa, what do you think?

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Yeah, I'm willing to give another go.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
You know, some call me the modern day chapin the way.
I've just been saving.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Dates here, just getting a job as a mediator after
the show, this job.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
If only he could have helped Ben and Jen, I.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Don't want to help them, you know what. I'm team Ben.
Jon's got a lot going on in her life right now,
a lot of shady people in her past.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Well, I'm team James and Alexa because they both sound
like nice people. And I'm so happy you're going on
a second date because we would have gotten all of
these calls and messages.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Hey, can I have James's number? Can I have Alexi's number?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
And you know what the best part is, neither of
you dated Diddy. So that's you're winning. Oh what they are?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Right?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
They are winning. I will give you that. Well. I'm
looking forward to hearing about your second day. Good luck
you two, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Is it okay to wear pj's on a flight is
a question that my husband asked me. It's the Mike
and Diane show in ninety five point one WayV. So
we're planning a trip. It involves a red eye flight.
Haven't taken one of those in years, so so my
hobby said, hey, we can just, you know, put on
our pjs and pop an ambien. So I was on
board for the ambien. You know, wake up at the

(07:59):
destination and no problem.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Or you might wake up a different destination because you
slept through two flights.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Oh you're right about that. Okay, let me cross that
one off the list.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
All right, So we're down to is it okay for
the pjs to wear pjs?

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I've never done it on a flight. I'm not the
type that I mean.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I wear sweatpants a lot, I mean, please, that's my
main staple.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Of my wardrobe. But I haven't worn pj's really out
in public. So is it okay? Maybe it is, Maybe
it's not.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
I have opinions, Okay, I'm gonna hold on to them,
hold on to them. I would like to hear other
people's opinions, but I.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Want to hear them in a few minutes. So pj's
on a flight, is it okay? I hit us up
on talk back on the free iHeartRadio app and record
your message, or you can always give us a call.
Good morning, It's Mike and Diane on ninety five point
one way V. A few minutes ago, I asked the question,
is it okay to wear pjs on a flight, specifically

(08:55):
a red eye flight ethan from May's landing.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Hey, so I'll be honest. I wear pjs on a
regular flight.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Thank you, Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
If it's travel day, I want to be comfortable.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeah, that's good. I guess.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I just I'm not very observant. God forbid if I
had to pick somebody out of a lineup, so I
never really even noticed on a flight if people are
wearing pjs.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
I appreciate you saying that, Diane, I really do because
I was a little nervous for you, because I was like,
how have you not noticed what the dress code is
in airports nowadays?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I mean I see them in wah Wah, I see
them in Walmart wearing their pjs, but I never really
noticed in an airport.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
I'm probably running late all the time in the airport.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
So I'm just like, I want a mission to get
on the plane and sit there. But okay, so you
say that's fine, Like now are you talking like the
flannel pants?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Are you talking like full on? Could you wear a onesie?

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I wouldn't wear a onesie, but you know, flannel pants.
If you have a shirt and pants, I'm sure you're fine.
And you know what, if you haven't noticed other people
in the airport, then they haven't noticed you.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Oh I'm sure they haven't because I look like a
disaster at the airport.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
That is such good advice that nobody ever listens to
you didn't notice? You think they're noticing, They're exactly everyone's
doing the same thing. Yeah, we're all living the same life,
just in different bodies.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
And then we worry half the time, like the people
are noticing.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Is that person in the ones over there judging me
for my pants.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
No, no, nobody cares. I don't remember anything. All right, Ethan,
you have sealed the deal. We're going for it. We're
wearing the pj's on our flight. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
All right, have fun, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
It's Mike and Diane on ninety five point one WayV
and Girl Scout Cookie season kicked off with no new flavors,
but we have some things to look forward to this year.
First of all, before I get to that, I didn't
know that the season kicked off this early because we
probably won't.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Be seeing Girl Scouts out about for a little bit.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
This is their bread and butter. This is how they
make their money. Oh yeah, which is fine because they
do a good job and they're teaching the girls business. Yeah,
so I'm all in on it. But listen, if you're
if ninety percent of your business is these cookies, extend
the window, like open it up and extend the window.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
They start shipping February twenty first, but I think that
they want everyone to just get excited about it, which
I am.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
And then it seems it feels like March.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I start seeing the Girl Scouts, which I can never
say no to little cute faces, so I'll be I'll
be buying lots of boxes I do.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
It's the Santa Claus thing. I just just grab my
belly like the movie The Santa Claus. Does it look
like I need some cookies? I don't need no cookies,
and then I just go about my desk.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
They oh, I just hand over the money.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Well, fin Min's obviously will be back, the classic Samoa's,
We'll be back, tag alongs, peanut butter sandwiches, trefoils, is
it trefoil A trefoil? Next one level Lemonades, Lemonops, and
Adventurefuls are also returning, along with Caramel Chocolate Chip and
Toffee Tastic. They're both gluten free and for the first

(12:10):
time ever, the Girl Scouts are telling us which cookies
are gonna go bye bye after this season, So two
popular flavors are being retired.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
After the season, though you still have time. S'mores and
toasty A say bye bye after this season. Get them
while you can, sure Girl Scout Cookie.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Girl Scout Cookie season runs through April, but availability in
different areas vary, so in advance, we want to wish
all the Girl Scouts good luck.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Hang on to some thin mints for me.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I'm coming for you twenty five point one WayV. And
it's a story that sounds like it should have come
out of that show that got us through the pandemic,
Tiger King. And they can only go in one spot, Diane,
one spot for this story. I've just been handed an
urgent and horrifying news story. All of you to stop

(13:02):
what you're doing and listen. No, oh, what have you
ever done for love? Oh?

Speaker 1 (13:11):
For love?

Speaker 4 (13:11):
To impress a young lady? Have you ever walked into
a private zoo enclosure? By the way, he was a
zoo keeper, had a private zoo and walked into the
line enclosure the film himself petting lions to impress his lady.
Oh please, how do you think it went?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I'm thinking since it's on No Way News, it didn't
go well? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (13:34):
What? Well? God he is gone.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Well that took a turn because normally they survive on
No Way News.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
But no, I mean it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Oh, come on, today is a lesson learned?

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Can't you just buy the woman some roses or something?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
I don't know, Why buy a rose when you can
pedal lion?

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Little tiffany box that's always impressive. Forget about the lion,
give me the.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Tiffany buy cheaper to just pedal lion.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Well, yeah it is cheaper, but now you dead, gone
gone zippo. First of all, you should know working there
even better than the average person who does something stupid
at a zoo, and they want to get you know,
the picture for the social media. You work there, you

(14:18):
know they can mal people.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
That's what they said. Oh the snacks. Yeah, and you
know he wasn't paying attention. He was paying attention to
making that video look so cool that he wasn't paying
attention to the three lions going now you die lunch.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, it's not the lion's fault. That's just their instinct.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
And that's what they did.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Lions do, that's what they do.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
And if you're going to be stupid enough, then I mean,
I'm sorry that this family lost son brother.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I'm sure someone in the family were like, wow, yeah,
I shouldn't. Like, I'm not Diane, I'm doing it on
No Way News. I've just screamed dead for five minutes.
What do you think we're trying to do? You want
to talk about what they found four hours later?

Speaker 1 (15:03):
No, No, we listen. We all make mistakes. Some are
bigger than others, let's leave it at.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
That, and some are smaller like his body. When they
found him later they ate him. Okay, bye, it is
ninety five point one WayV. It's the Mike and Diane
show what.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Really stunk as a kid, but it's awesome as an adult.
Number one in the survey, and Mike, I think you
will agree with this, okay, having absolutely nothing to do.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
Yeah, no, that's the answer.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Although it never happens, doesn't, especially with you with the
two kids.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
No.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Well, a few other answers in the survey this kind
of goes along the same line, sweet silence.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Don't you love it?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (15:48):
But is that also it's stunk as a kid, but
it's awesome as an adult.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Bath time if you love your nice relaxing bath, that's nice.
But as a kid, no way. And then also I
agree with this one. Getting practical gifts like clothes or
shoes when you were a kid, Yeah, I mean it's
really like buying a present for your parent when you
get a gift like that, when you get clothes. Of course,
you know we always said thank you so much, but

(16:13):
in cyber thinking, no toy.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah no, Now, I time it up, like I s
the shoes, the deodorant, the shampoo. That's all Christmas stuff.
So I will time that up around getting that stuff,
and you know, maybe one less little little sketch of
the shampoo in mid December, knowing that I got to
make it last to the twenty fifth, or my birthday's

(16:39):
coming up, or hey, honey, you running too the store. Yeah,
they're all gifts. I don't think I've actually bought shampoo
in a long time.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
And you scored this past Christmas.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Of course I timed it perfectly. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
All set his hygiene is going to be great, well
until the end of the year.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
I got to stretch this out for a full year,
long time. There may be some days that would just
let it go.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Luckily we're on radio.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
It's your problem.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
It is. It is a me problem, but give us
a call.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
It's stunk as a kid, but it's awesome as an adult.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Six h nine four eight four.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
WayV ninety five point one WayV with Mike and Diane.
And it's stunk as a kid, but it's awesome as
an adult. Number one in the survey having absolutely nothing
to do. Wouldn't that be like heaven. But that is Yeah,
we don't know what it is. But as a kid,
you did not like it, you got bored. As an adult,

(17:36):
it's great. Let's check in with Avery from Lynnwood. Avery,
what's stunk as a kid, but now it's awesome as
an adult?

Speaker 6 (17:42):
Oh my goodness. Taking naps?

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Naps? Oh, give me a moment. Ah nap? Now? How long?
How long of a nap? Avery? Do you like a
short nap or do you just a long nap?

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Well, as much as I love a long nap, I
can't do more than like thirty because then it'll just
ruin me. Yes, yes, but if it's I mean, hey,
if it's the holidays, then hey, that couch is going
to get a couple of naps.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Oh my god, I have I'm terrified of naps because
I will like that that panic of waking up if
you forgot to set an alarm of like, oh what
time is it? Is anybody dead? Because of my kids?
Are they alone at school? Did I forget to pick
them up? Am I getting divorced? Type of dude? Those

(18:31):
things run through my I.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Wonder why you don't think naps?

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So the other day I took a nap.
It was a Sunday afternoon. We did a bit of
drinking and it was it was it was like a
couple of weeks ago. It was like a month ago
at this point. And we had a really big day
work on Monday, and somebody let me nap from three
to five. I was done. I was done. I knew

(18:54):
I was done. I came to work at two am
because I was like, I'm not going to lay in
bed and get an hour of sleep. I'd rather just
I'm too stressed now, Like as I'm watching the time
tick down, like I'm too stressed to sleep. So now
I just was like whatever, I'll just get up and
have I'll nap during the day.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
It does throw you throw your sules.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
I was way off.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
But if you remember as a kid like I don't
want to take a nap, and I was like, yeah,
I'll take it.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
As a kid, that's my tuesdays.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Well, hopefully Avery you get to take lots of naps soon.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Enjoy it.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Okay, thank you, have a good day.
