Speaker 1 (00:00):
Offense not exactly the greatest show on turf under Mike
Martz in the early two thousands. Nonetheless, when you look
at the game though, and they had season low two
hundred and nineteen yards three and a half yards per play.
The totality of yesterday's game, what do you come out

(00:22):
of yesterday, especially with the lost by the Rams at Carolina.
Do you say now about this Seattle Seahawks team and
where they rank amongst the pantheon of the NFL's best teams.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, I mean I think that, like it's such a
toss up right now. Right, everything is so open and
there's really not one team out there that you look
at and you say, whoa, you know, they're they're you
know they're it's gonna take a lot to get them.
You know, it's gonna take a lot to get a
few teams. But there's not a lot. There's not one
or two that you're like totally scared of. And so
I think that that opens things up a lot for

(00:56):
teams like Seattle, teams like Indianapolis, teams like even New England, right,
who've had you know, New England and Indy and even
Seattle to a degree have kind of feasted on the
lower end of the schedule. But at this point in
the season, you're you're good. You know, you're winning games.
It's not because of the schedule, you know all that.
So I mean, like, the Seattle's good team. They have
a good defense, a defensive minded head coach. We've got

(01:16):
a lot of talent, they drafted well, and you know,
to me, I think that, you know, like the Rams
have been the best team I suppose, you know, and
I think that that's probably fair in some degree, But like,
I don't I'm not petrified by the Rams. I think
that Seattle's the type of team and given the game,
in any situation, they could compete in that situation. So
it's just crazy to me that it's so wide open

(01:37):
like this this late in the year. Normally we have
one or two teams at least that you're looking at
and you say, okay, they're going to be the front runner.
But it seems pretty pretty open right now.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Sam Darnold yesterday he didn't throw he didn't throw any interceptions,
but he did fumble the ball twice. One of them
was recovered by his teammate Cooper Cup. What concerns you
now granted a lot of these plays. Listen, he was
under dere us all day long. They had no answer
whatsoever for Brian Flora's defense. But we've seen Sam Donald

(02:07):
in certain situations like against the Rams throwing four interceptions.
Is that something that is very concerning to you as
you go down the stretch when you have games coming
up at home against the Colts, at home against the
Rams on the road against the Panthers and forty nine ers.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I mean, it is and it isn't, you know. I
guess we'll see if it's because right now it kind
of sits as an outlier and nothing more than sort
of a reminder of what we saw last year when
he had to deal with pressure and all that sort
of thing. But like this one, to me, he didn't
throw any picks against the Flora stuff that you just mentioned.
I mean, they come at you and really confuse you,
and they're really lopside a team right now Minnesota. The

(02:46):
defense that actually playing really well, and the offense obviously
can't do anything right now with the quarterback situation.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I mean, it's a really tough call. I was much
higher on Sam Donald when the season started than a
lot of people who were just you know, last year
with Minnesota ended poor, So he's just going to turn
back into a pumpkin. I did not think we would
see that. Do I think that he's gonna always be
a guy who's pushing forty touchdowns every year?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
No?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
But do I think he's a guy who can play
winning football if you continue to build around him and
give him confidence.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I do that.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Said the foreig interceptions there at LA is a terrible
you know, it's hard to over it's hard to ignore that.
That was one of those things where and I think
this is still the main question with Darnold right where
it's like, when it is required for you to be
the best you have, are you gonna be able to
do that? Or are you gonna be able to or
are you going to shrink in the big moments. I
think he's a good player. I think he's a quality

(03:34):
starting quarterback. I just we're gonna see, you know, down
the stretch. You know what kind of quarterback he is?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Nick Bomb Garner from the Athletics. So looking at this
defense right now, I've said this defense is obviously the
best since the Legion of Boom era. Ernest Jones yesterday
two interceptions, one of them for a pick sixty second
in the league as a linebacker. We second the league
overall in interceptions as a linebacker. And you look at
this team and to Mark Lawrence, Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy,

(04:03):
Jaron Reed, they're just stacked. When you get into a
situation nick in the playoffs and let's just say Seattle
has to go on the road to Sofi Stadium in
La Or I was gonna say Detroit, but I don't
even know if they're going to be in the playoffs anymore.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
To Chicago, right, I have to Chicago.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Is this something that travels and that can certainly win
road games? Don't forget Mike McDonald twelve and two on
the road since he's been here.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yes. Absolutely, this is why.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
You do it this way, right, and this is why
you know they've done it properly. They've built it from
the inside out. They've got, you know, quality count on
the defensive backfield. You've got a real shutdown corner in Witherspoon.
You're getting more and more from Emon Wari, which is
great to see. I mean, that guy's, you know, an
amazing athlete. We'll see how much better he gets in time.
But you mentioned Jones, all these guys up front, Like,
they are a team that is built too if they
can get any kind of you know, I if the

(04:56):
offense doesn't sabotage them, They're a team that's built to
go on the road. You know, ruined somebody's year in
the playoffs in my opinion, Like that's when you look
at some of the teams that might be hosting games.
That is a great point because it very well could
be Chicago. And I mean they have been great, but
like are they are you shaking in your boots going
into shoal to Chicago? I mean, any drop of a hat,
anything you throw them to throw sand in the gears

(05:19):
and then suddenly they became a normal They become a
normal team again. Like Seattle has something that not a
lot of teams in the NFL these days do have,
which is a defense that should be able to travel.
They have depth, and they're healthy. You know, as long
as that continues, I think they're they're they're a team
that should be you know, I think that's what it is.
The top tier right now is just a bunch of
teams that need.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
To be reckoned.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
With and I think Seattle's in that in that group.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Did you lose a little bit of respect our urges?
Kind of like whoa? When the Rams given up thirty
one to Carolina after how bad Carolina looked at San
Francisco on Monday night?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Did you say whoa?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Because I can tell you right now, Nick bomb Gardner,
Seahawks aren't giving up thirty points to any team in
the NFL, including the Cowboys who have a great offense,
or any or even the Lions who have a great offense.
They're not giving up thirty to any team in the league.
Cannot score thirty on the Seattle Seahawks team.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, No, I thought that that was more.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
You know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I mean, I like the Rams.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I like what they've done.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
It's impossible not to like some of the stuff they've
done this season, and they have had some really nice
defensive performances. But I still think that they're a group
that can be either it's all or nothing a little bit.
Sometimes with them defensively, it's either flash or nothing, Like
they're either gonna make a bunch of big plays or
you're gonna be able to bleed them out and go
down the field and do what you want on them,

(06:33):
and then depending on how the offense is or isn't clicking, you.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Know, we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I mean, I think that they've they've won some games
this year with the defense stepping up and like holding
people holding people down. But I think that one of
those was against the Ravens when Lamar was out. I
think they beat the Saints the Jaguars when they were
a mess, you know, like Houston when they weren't good.
So to me, I like the Rams, but I'm not
ready to The Tampa Bay win, though, I think was

(06:58):
one that maybe alted confidence a little higher than it
needed to be. I think now it's back to where
it should be. The Rams are good, but I don't
think they're like head and shoulders above anybody. I think
that they're in that in that tier we just talked
about with you know, Seattle, and I guess Chicago and
Philly and all these other teams, maybe even Detroit if
they win some more games and get back into it.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Who knows what concerns you, uh, if you're if you're
Mike McDonald and John Schneider about this team in the postseason,
whether or not you have the one seed or you
have the five seed and you have to go on
the road in round one to Raymond James Stadium against
the box.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
What concerns you?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, are you gonna be able to run the ball?
Are you gonna be able to do what you need
to do to protect Donald against a guy like especially
if you're gonna go to Tampa, are you gonna are
you gonna be able to handle that with Todd Bowles
and everything that they throw at you from that standpoint
in the big moment And we just talked about it
with with Donald, like are you gonna be able to
perform when you got to do it? And you know,
I think that this their run game this year has

(07:54):
been one of those things too, with the blocking everything
else that's been There are times where it looks promising,
but then there are also times where it's still a
little bit not there. There's also some young guys in
there obviously, as we know. So for me, I think
that's the thing that concerns you still is your defense
is going to probably give you a great effort and
going to play winning football. It's just a matter of
are you going to get enough from your office to

(08:15):
sort of take advantage of the situations they put.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
You in and then not turn the ball over. Like
that's got to be the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Like, they can't win if he's turning the ball over
four times, now two or three times. I mean they
can probably get away with one. Honestly, defense is going
to get him some stops, but not two or three
or four like that. No, So they got to take
care of the ball and be able to run it
a little bit more on their own terms.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Nick Bomgardner from the Athletic here joining us on MJ
in the midday. When you look around the league right now,
Denver had a big winning overtime last night on a
failed two point conversion by Marcus Mariota and the Washington Commanders,
the New England Patriots are. They were the first ten
win team after winning ten last weekend. They're playing tonight
against the Giants pretender contender. Let's play that game a

(08:57):
little bit right now. Let's start with Denver. They've won
I believe, like seven straight games where they were trailing
for the first time. That's never been done in NFL
history of a team who won seven straight games that
they were trailing. And that's never been done. Are they
a pretender or are they a contender?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Like I think that they're I don't think I want
to call them a pretender, but I'm not sure I
would say that they're all the way a contender just yet. Like,
I'd like to see what they do here. They got
green Bay coming up. I think you know they got
what is it Vegas with Denver at the Yeah, they
got green Bay coming up on the fourteenth of December.
I want to see what they do there and then
maybe at Kansas City and the Urders at the end
of the year, Like that's that's the chance to me

(09:43):
to prove that you're a contender. Still, I think they're
a playoff team. I think they're a team to be
wrecking with, But I don't know if I would go any.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Higher than that.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
All Right, the Patriots, they're off to an unbelievable start,
going for their eleventh win and trying to put a
choke hold on that AFC East Division. I think the
Bills are coming in this upcoming weekend or the weekend after.
But they got the Giants tonight at home, and right
now after the performance yesterday by Matthew Stafford, maybe Drake

(10:10):
May tonight, with a big performance, could become the odds
on favorite for the MVP pretender contender with the Pats.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, I think contender because of who you just mentioned.
I mean Drake may special. I think that that was
I loved that pick when they took him. I loved
those quarterbacks at the top of that class. I'm glad
that it is now sort of evening out. Like last year,
it was kind of difficult to listen to people say, well, well,
Jane Daniels was the only one that worked out. Everybody
else is kind of a bus right, Well, it was
one year. It was one year, guys, let's call him

(10:37):
down here. So you see, Caleb's having a better year,
and then Drake may really taken off. I think that
he May had. You know, people didn't talk about it
as much that year when he came out because of
you know, how much Caleb got the attention. But the
ceiling for Drake may is is just ridiculous. I mean,
he's a terrific, terrific player. They seem to be in
a groove, and you know, I think that he's the difference, right,

(10:59):
I mean, he makes place He's able to get them
in situations or out of situations that other guys can't.
So you know, I think that as much as anybody
else up there, they're a contender.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I'm interested to hear how you feel about this team,
the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, what I mean, Look, the Ravens are like the
great example to me of a team that now they
just lost here to the Bengals, which is not a
good look. No, but like if they're gonna be healthy
and they're gonna be ready to go, like they scare
they're a team that can scare you in a playoff
situation if they can somehow get in. Like I mean,
you look at the end of the schedule here they

(11:35):
got at They do have a Green Bay, so that's
not an easy one.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
But I mean the.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Rest of them are kind of two games against Pittsburgh.
I think they could beat Pittsburgh if they're healthy and
ready to go, But like, they're so inconsistent that it's
it's hard to bet on them.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
It's hard.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
It's hard right now to see them totally pulling out
of the fire. But I guess we'll we'll find out.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
I Mean, I watch that game on Thursday night, Thanksgiving night,
and I just like to me, it's like, this is
why Mmar Jackson, he's a two time MVP, could have
possibly been a three time MVP. But this is why,
like playoff Lamar showed up on Thanksgiving night. That's playoff Lamar.
And I'm like, when is you know, like a Lamar

(12:13):
MVP gonna show up? And after a while it goes
down to the Bill Parcells thing. Nick, you kind of
are what your record is, Lamar Jackson's three and five
of the playoffs, right, yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
One hundred percent. Lamar Jackson is a fantastic individual talent
who is still one of these players that just in
these big spots it's just not it's just not there,
you know, I mean, it just it's it's we don't
get the full Lamar experience when you know, all eyes
or whatever it seems like are on them, I guess

(12:45):
for lack of a better whatever. So like that's when
you know, I mean, yeah, two fumbles, a pick. I mean,
he just does nothing in this game where it's like
a huge spot for them to get you know, get
themselves right back off the mat and everything else. And
it's like it'd be one thing if we never saw that,
but we do see that, and I think that some
times people react unfairly to him. But I think sometimes
people they go out of their way to like overprotect Lamar.

(13:08):
I mean, he has flaws. He's not a perfect player.
He's a fantastic talent, one of the most talented athletes
in the world, but he certainly is a flood player
and until he proves otherwise, it's it's hard to argue
against that.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, and man, Joe Burrow sitting at home for what
two months?

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Yeah, I mean, no problem to go. You want me
to come out Thanksgiving night?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, I'll do that. Absolutely, I can do that. I mean,
come on, I from me. No, I'm not at all.
I'm not at all looking at that and saying that,
you know, this team is I just don't trust them.
I think that's what it comes down to on a
lot of these teams, there's a trust factor. Oh another team,
and I'm having my doubts on these guys too, Nick,

(13:47):
the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Right, Yeah, Like they have a team meeting every other day, Like,
I mean, it's a mess, Like they're arguing all the time.
And the offense is really one dimensional. Their defense is phenomenal.
It's a very similar conversation like we just had with
Seattle honestly, where you're like, if your offense wants to
show up and do what it's supposed to do, then
it's a different conversation. But offensively for Philly, you know,

(14:14):
the pass game is just it's it doesn't exist. It's
never like if it's not a slant to a J.
Brown or and that's about it. It's they don't have anything.
So it's not he hurts is not comfortable back there.
The run game is not nearly as efficient as it
as it's once as it once has been. I think
those guys are probably dinged up a little bit more
upfront than we've seen. Uh and they've been relied on,

(14:35):
you know, so much too. So I think that they
seem to be puttering out a little bit here, uh
to a degree, and I'm interested to see if they
can get the rebound. I don't know where the rebound's
gonna come from though, it's like it's it's not this
is just kind of who they are, so uh, yeah,
I'm curious to see where they head from here.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yeah, you wonder too, And it's like, I mean, was
it is it Kellen Moore that I'm not talking to
a lot of my friends or Eagles fans. They're telling
me that this OC is horrible, that maybe the loss
of Kellen Moore, like we're.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Seeing right now, safe thing of Detroit.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
You know, they got off to that great start, right
Nick and and Morton.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
You know John Morton had him in the top five offenses.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
And then meet Dan camp I want to call the plays, Dan,
you can't call the plays.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
That's not your forte has gone well, right, it.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Hasn't gone well, But they've also had a lot of
They've had some injuries going on here. Their offensive line
has been decimated by injuries. Although I do think to
your point, I think Campbell has been guilty of over
correcting this season. I I don't know that leaving John
Morton alone would have been much. I mean, maybe it
would have made a difference, maybe it wouldn't. If I

(15:39):
think they might still be in the same situation here.
You know, they playing the young guards up there, that
one of them got hurt. Mahogany's out. Ratledge is hanging
in there, but he's a rookie and he's up and down.
Graham Glasgow sometimes is over matched at center, and then
they've got a back and he's hurt now too. David
Tyler Decker has been hurt for most of the year too,
So they just have not been themselves at all. And

(16:01):
you know, I think Campbell in some ways has tried
to overcorrect to try.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
To get around some of that.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Though they still have scored a ton of points. Their
defense is good, you know, it's just they don't show
up and you know, really critical times. They're a team
too that you're having a hard time trusting right now.
But if they put it together, they're one of the
best teams in the NFL. So it's really difficult to
judge them, right. You don't know what the hell's going on,
you know, day to day with them at this point.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Nick Bomgarner from the Athletic, what are the things that
you think down the shop? And by the way, did
you have this going after week thirteen? Did you have
the Jacksonville Jaguars in first place? I didn't have that
on my digo card, no.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
But I tell you what, I'm glad to see it
because I do think that Jacksonville was one of those
teams at the beginning of the year that if they
could get a buy in they were a little bit
of a sleeper team. They've got a ton of talent,
they didn't play a difficult schedule. I like Trevor Lawrence.
I know there's a lot of people that don't that
are out on him one way or the other. But
you know, they have drafted. They've had a ton of picks,

(16:57):
so it's hard to not draft well when you had
that many picks. So they've got a lot of good
young players, they're feisty, they got a young coach who's
energetic and sometimes that that'll help right too. So surprised, yes,
but not totally shocked that they've made nice. The same
thing with New England and kind of the I'm more
surprised about Indy. Indianapolis is probably the one that surprises
me most.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Yeah, but are they coming down to earth a little
bit now? I think so. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
I think that's the one that I would say probably
comes down to earth the most because they're so everything
was so situation based. I don't know if Daniel Jones,
I mean, he's obviously played better. I don't want to
take that away from him. But like when we talk
about pretending like them and the Patriots, let's say if
you compared the two, I would buy on Drake May
a lot more than I would on Daniel Jones being
able to hold up when the pressure comes on.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
So yeah, we'll see, but I think they're the one
that might fall. Yeah that's for me. I feel the
same way, and I'm I don't know, we'll see. I mean, listen, man,
they got a great defense, Josh heinz Allen. I mean,
those dudes, and you look back at I'm looking at
the Seahawks season, I'm saying, Wow, that win at Jacksonville's
pretty impress right now.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
They got a lot of guys, like they just are
so inconsistent. I saw them in training camp a couple
of years ago, like live, and it was like, you know,
one period it would just be oh my goodness, and
then the next period it would look like they'd never
played football. They were just they're a very inconsistent group.
And sometimes I think that has still shown up this season.
But a lot of ability, as you know, I mean,
they got a lot of guys out there.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Yeah, Nick, So going forward, is there anything that you
think as we head down the stretch here in the
regular season, as we get towards January into the playoffs,
that something to kind of look out for, and not
maybe not just Seattle read but just in the league
that because because you've seen teams. Man, I'll go back
to that seven Giants team, and they were they were,

(18:46):
you know, kind of flailing around, you know, and they
were ten and six and they just got on a
run and then they end up they end up winning
the whole thing and knocking off the eighteen and oh Patriots,
Is there a team right now that's just kind of
on the proof that could just get hot at the
right time now that today, with the start of December
going forward, that could end up making a run and

(19:07):
playing in Super Bowl sixty in Sarata.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Clara, No, absolutely. I think we just touched on Detroit.
There would be Philly. We can't roll out Detroit or Philly.
You know, if either of those teams get hot and
decide they want to, you know, turn it around. Tampa
just had a tough loss, but they're another one that
you know, when their defense is right, it can be
really really special or then it can be really really
difficult to play. I should say, when they're defense is right,

(19:29):
sometimes it's not. But to me, the team I would
watch the most right now is Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
The game they just played against Detroit might have been
the best they played all season. The two games they
played against Detroit might have been their best.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Two of the year.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
And I feel like that those that's the glimpse where
you really see everything that they can possibly be if
they start to play consistent football here they like, Because
that's my question, is somebody gonna separate and become like, Okay,
they're the team to be. I think it could be
green Bay.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Still.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
I defensively, the Parsons and Rashaun Gary situation there is
just impossible to deal with when they're when they're ready
to go. And if Jordan Love and the offense and
the run game are gonna are gonna support them the
way they did against Detroit, uh, they become a very
very difficult team to deal with. So I'm still sort
of waiting to see if Green Bay and hit a
stride here with a handful of games to go and
maybe separate a little bit before the season ends.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Yeah, they made a statement on Thanksgiving big time, big time,
and I said, uh, oh, if this team starts to
they were kind of like that sleeping giant, and people
said before the year there could be some love you know,
Jordan love potential MVP, and they kind of hit that lull.
But if they start to play, they they the way
they did on Thursday night or excuse me, Thursday afternoon

(20:42):
at Ford Field against the Lions.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
Boy, watch out for the Packers.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
That is not a you got like you said Micah Parsons,
Rashaan gary Man. Uh oh, that is a team that
certainly a lot.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
To look up. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
But the great thing about it, Nick, is that you
know what, there is no dominant team, which means that
we're gonna have an epic postseason.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
That's right, You're gonna have an epic pro season and
probably a nice close to the regular season which we
don't often have, which could be interesting too. So good
football ahead, no question about that.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
All right, appreciate you joining us, man, Thank you very much. Yes,
nickbomb Gardner from the Athletic joining us here. Coming up,
we've got an update on the picking the Locks tag
team challenge between me and Lee Sterling versus Softy and
Dick could be headed down to the final game tonight

(21:31):
between the Patriots and Giants and fact or Fiction don't
forget hot take Monday your chance to win a platter
of boardhead sallenges.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Go to the free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Look for ninety three to three kjar hit the microphone
icon button right then and there rant away your chance
to win a platter board, said Salwing is. Before you
do that, like kid says, leave your name, leave your
number so we can find you if you win, like
the woman a couple of weeks ago, we can find you,
and we don't want somebody to win and then we
have to wait for another week to do two the

(22:03):
next week, So just let us know who you are.
Fill out that stuff. Also, we'll open up the phone
lines as well at noon. Factor fiction coming up next
as well, and man a twenty plus year anniversary of
the Goat. We'll get to one of the greatest. I
just have to set that up. Coming up at eleven

(22:25):
forty five on MJ in the midday, I have the
New England Patriots first half team total over thirteen and
a half points, so I'm relying on Drake May Stefon
Diggs just have a baby with Cardi b. I'm relying
on them to get it to Hunter. Henry Travion Henderson

(22:47):
Ormandre Stevenson, him relying on the Pats tonight to score
at least fourteen points in the first half against one
of the worst defenses in the NFL at home.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
I don't think that'll be a problem.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
But that's what we got and bragging rights there and
the picking the Locks tag team challenge. I got to
give Dick Fane a lot of credit. Dick Fane brought it.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Man.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
He he was five and oh on his picks, five
and oh. So Dick Fane softy one in three and
one on his picks. But Dick Fane five and oh undefeated.
So kudos to Dick on that.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Man.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
He you know, he's he might be better than you know,
just picking his nose every now and then, he might
be able to pick some games here and now. So
I need Drake May and the Pats tonight first half
over thirteen and a half points. If you can still
find that somewhere, by all means, do it, because I
think that's a great I just don't see that being

(23:52):
an issue against this Giants defense, which is the antithesis
of a Seahawks defense.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
It's horrible. Oh yeah, Dick Fane.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Undefeated, that's uh who knew, who knew, So we'll see tonight.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
It's up to me.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
It's my pick too, so I'll be the reason that
we win or lose. They got a push on the
Bucks game. Now, the Bucks game closed at four and
a half yesterday, but they picked it softy picked it
when it was three, so we got to count it

(24:28):
at the time when we did the show that the
line that it was then not We're closed. So it
did close at four and a half and they covered
that anyway. But yeah, no, excuse me, they didn't cover that.
They they did not cover that. They they pushed on
the three minus three. So to me tonight, I need
Drake May and the Patriots so we can win the

(24:49):
Picking the Locks tag team challenge. It was fun having
those guys on the show Friday and the final segment,
so bragging rights on the line for that. You know,
I have to tell you anybody touched tonight's Monday Night game.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
Yet, let me take a peek.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
I mean, I'm just you know, it's uh I I
you know, I mean, I just wonder. I would imagine
probably not many people did nobody, not a side or
total none. All right, I wish we could do the
first half team total. But uh, you know, so there's that.

(25:28):
But anyway, oh, by the way, we have a there
was a Karen, and I'll tell you that that coming
up as well. But my point of view on everything,
as you know, is my point of view.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
And and you know, I mean, just.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
Because I don't like something doesn't mean that other people
don't like it. It's my point of view. But there's
always a Karen or a Chad that gets males and
the BREADWINNERSO. It's like, oh god, oh god, you know what, Karen.
You're the reason I've never been married. You're the reason Karen.
And I know it's a woman who texted a You're

(26:03):
the reason I've never been married.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Sweetheart. You got that. You're the reason.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
And I will never get married because people like you.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
You're the reason. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
And if I do, there's going to be a prenup
that the late great Roy Cohen would have made him blush.
I could tell you that right now, or it would
be to someone who's a daughter of Bill Gates or
or Elon Musk. I mean literally, you're the reason I
don't get married. You're the reason. All right, now it's
time for factor fiction. Of course that to go glad
You're with us always one never fails, never fails, never fails.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Thousand dollars Grand Prize.

Speaker 6 (26:39):
Factor Fiction probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel
where every Day Feels Lucky. Factor Fiction is on Sports
Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
All Right, you know usually on a Thursday night, Thursday night,
that teams don't play their best because they're coming off
a short week. Well, the Cowboys and Lions have a week.
They played on Thursday last Thursday on Thanksgiving, and they're

(27:14):
playing this Thursday night, so that's a week, so they're
not coming off a short week. Neither team has good
defenses at this point, and I believe we're gonna see
a plethora of points. Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb, George Pickens,
and then maybe Dan Campbell will call plays so he
can get Jamiir Gibbs back involved on unlike the game

(27:37):
against the Packers, what happened on Thursday and Jared Goff,
I'm on Ross Saint Brown, you know, like Jamison Williams,
hopefully he's healthy, Like hopefully he's healthy. So I look
at this Cowboys eight and four on the overs Detroit
Lions seven and five. I'm gonna go over fifty three

(27:59):
and a half Thursday Night. Cowboys Lions over fifty three
and a half. If you agree with that, text in
fact to four nine four five one. If you disagree,
text in fiction to four nine four five to one. Again,
Cowboys Lions over fifty three and a half Thursday Night.

(28:22):
Remember they have an entire week rest, so it's not
a short week for them. They got to, you know,
after Thursday and Friday, Saturday, Sunday off. Now they get
ready for it, so they're a little bit well rested.
Neither team has a good defense. Points will be I
expect there to be about thirty five to forty points
combined scored by halftime. And I think that Yeah, Cowboys

(28:44):
Lions over fifty three and a half. If you agree,
text in fact to four nine four five one. If
you disagree, text in fiction to four nine to four
five to one. But if you want to be wrong,
text in fiction if you want to be right, text
in fact to four nine four or five to one.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
I also mentioned if on a.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Separate note, my pick tonight to win the Picking the
Locks tag team challenge, I have the Patriots first half
tonight over thirteen and a half points on the side
if you want to do something there separately, but Cowboys
Lions over fifty three and a half factor fiction text
in fact to four nine four or five one or
fiction of four nine four or five one. All right,

(29:24):
you have to the next eleven minutes to do that,
all right? Coming up next twenty year anniversary of one
of the greatest things at the beginning of social media
that will never die. And we give our tribute to
this next at noon hot take Monday, your chance to
win a platter of Boreshead sandwiches. Go to the free

(29:47):
iHeartRadio app, leave your rant, make sure you leave your
name in number, or we open up the phones at
noon as well for your chance to win a platter
of Boreshead sandwiches. No repeat winners, no repeat winners, so
we want a new winner. All right, that's coming up.
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
The Indiana Pacers are looking for a measure of revenge
tonight against the New Jersey Nets and to strengthen their
playoff hopes. The Nets won the last Sunday's matchup ninety
four to eighty five, which left the Pacers one game
Behind the Chicago in the seventh Aeries spot. Let's check
out the highlights. Stephen Jackson's David go Richiel Miller's looking good.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Good.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
He shoots it three and it's good. Later he gets
the rebound, passes it to the man, shoots it, and
Boom goes to Dynamite. The final scores ended up with
the Pacers sixty three to the net sixty one.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Boom goes to Dynamite. Twenty yearsnniversary. Man, I'm surprised. Who
what was that guy's name? The Boom goes the dynamite.
Brian Collins was a He was a ball State University student,
Brian Collins, And yeah, that's something. Twenty years ago, Boom

(31:20):
went the Dynamite. God bless Brian Collins. Man, God bless him.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
You never know. I'm surprised he didn't make it. Man,
he was.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
By the way, do you know, kid, there's a literally
a Wikipedia page for Boom Goes to Dynamite. There's a
Wikipedia page for it. Colins, by the way, for him,
though he was featured on Letterman, he did get on
Letterman twenty years ago, so you know, I mean, it's
not the worst thing in the world. And then he

(31:51):
was also on a title of the TV show Scandal
that was called Boom Goes the Dynamite. All right, kid,
give me your thoughts last yesterday's game, give me everything,
your assessment of the Seahawks win.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
Defense?

Speaker 3 (32:11):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (32:12):
What more can you say? Leonard Williams. Wow, he might
be an All Pro this season? Oh, no doubt, First team,
First team him and Byron Murphy. Wow, clinic teach tape.
All the little words that show how dominant they've been. Impressive.
Ernest Jones a big piece of this defense. He had

(32:35):
a really good day. They played ball backs against the wall,
never folded. They call it the death zone. They handle
business in the death zone. That's the red zone. Obviously,
for those that don't know, Seahawks played really good defense.
The offense sputtered. There are a lot of issues. Sam
Donald just holding to the football, taking sacks cool, whatever,
it's not on you. Tight ends didn't help you on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Nobody nobody ship kid, Nobody, nobody did anything, and they
they had unfast passes.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Right to Donald.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
It's unfortunate that Aj Barn has a take on Andrew
Van Ginkle, who led the vikings and sacks last season.
I think with ten and a half, that's a tough ask,
but you gotta get hands on him and slow him down.
Sack Sam took one bad sack that I would say
is on him, and that was when Cross got beat.
He was just holding the ball too long and obviously
Cooper Cup was able to have fallen to fumble and recovery.

(33:24):
But just a rough day for the offense. Hopefully that's
the last time that happens. But their schedule points that
you know they're gonna be challenged yet again. Forty nine
ers have a good defense. The Rams have a good defense.
Colts Saint bad. Colts aren't bad. They have a bunch
of talented players. So you're hoping that these mistakes slowly

(33:48):
was surely dwindle away. But then another part of me
is also looking at it from a standpoint. Get it
out your system. Now do it in the regular season.
Come to the playoffs. That's an afterthought kind of with
the Rams. Did they lost to a Carolina Panthers team?
You know what, cool you lost to a team you
should have beat. Get it out the way, don't let
it happen again. Learn from your mistakes. Every team's gonna

(34:11):
bring it every Sunday, that's what they call it. Any
given Sunday, right, you never know who can win. You
got to show them, put your laces on and play
the game, execute the way your coaches asked you to
do all week, and you go out there and play ball.
The Seahawks didn't do that last week against the Tennessee Titans.
The defense, why not the Seahawks? The defense felt that
they came up short, and what did they do the
following week? An undrafted rookie free agent goes out there
and they make them look that way. The defense took

(34:33):
that personally. They realized they didn't give their best effort
against the Titans. They didn't play the way they are
capable of. And when you go out there and you
have a quarterback passing for fifty three yards in the
first half, that bodes well for a defense. That gives
them the confidence that, yes, this is what we're all about.
Stuffing the run and not allowing you to complete passes.

(34:54):
Their top two targets I think combined for like three
catches for like twenty seven yards or something.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
They're justin Jefferson catch yeah yeah, by by the way, JSN.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Both of those guys did nothing.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
So oh yeah, but right the Seahawks defense, right, yeah,
if you guys remember last year when they played the Vikings,
those dude went for like one sixty and I think
three touchdowns. Yeah yeah, look at this year and they
just completely shut them down. Obviously, the quarterback situation is
trash out there, but everyone talks about that. Giants lost
a few years ago where Daniel Jones came in here

(35:26):
into Seattle and beat the Seahawks. They don't have a
loss like that on their schedule this season.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
I mean, but the Bucks a little bit. No no, no, no, no, no,
no no no.

Speaker 5 (35:35):
Maybe they give thirty eight, they have thirty, but they
don't have a loss to a team that you are supposed.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
To no no, no no, yeah yeah yeah, yeah no,
they don't have that.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
They had no you go out. Sure, they gave up
a lot of points at Titans, they still beat them.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yeah, they lost the three playoff teams.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
So let's go from going moving forward. I think this
defense is the best in the NFL. They've shown me
nothing but dominance weekend and week out. Yeah, they could
have played better against the Titans. Y all understand that,
but for them to do what they did Sunday against
the Minnesota Vikings to a quarterback that no one really
knew of. That's impressive stuff. They did a really good

(36:09):
job as a unit, from Mike McDonald all the way
down to the last gal on that defense that goes
out there and plays they performed really well. The offense, again,
they sputtered. I expect them to make some changes and
be better, but I did think the running backs they
play a little better in terms of making guys. Miss
Kenneth Walker was just I feel bad for number For
number two, I think it was he got a Kenneth wore.

(36:32):
I got to run to the outside and he just
ran over the portal.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Yes, and oh my god, oh my god. Oh yeah,
I know the player talking.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
I wish they would have panned the camera to Mike
McDonald to his reaction and the running backs coach, because
I'm sure they were just fired up. I know it
was only a three yard gain, but that was three
yards where you punish the defense. Yeah, and that's what
they did all on Sunday. They just punished them. Yeah,
every run didn't work out the way they wanted to,
but I felt on the first glance that they did
a really good job of just being physical. I mean,

(37:01):
you think about it. They scored and made it twenty
six to zero. In that last handoff Zach Sharburney. The
Vikers just looked tired. They were like, bro, you're running
it again. The Seahawks went for it and then kept
running the How about when Mike McDonald was going to
go for a field goal? They stop and then they
like time out or whatever, and then he changed his
mind and they go for the first and then they
gets it and he's like yeah, He's like they knew better,

(37:22):
and yeah, I just, you know, the only thing that
concernedly we'll talk about this more throughout the week. I
hope Brian Flores didn't lay a blueprint on how to
you know, because yeah, Brian Flores is there are some
really good defensive coordinators in the league, and I think
Mike McDonald's one of them. Obviously, Brian floor is another in.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
From the Rams. But yeah, yeah, yeah, the guys have
been doing.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
It for a while, but Flores and Mike McDonald do.
They're the pressure Kings. They are really good at sending
four to five guys and you have no idea where
they're coming from. No and that really benefited the Vikings
going up against JSIN because there were a lot of
times where guys come unprotected and Sam had zero time,
and they also played coverages a little differently. They literally

(38:11):
just said, cool, throw it to Cooper Cup, Cool throw
it to a J. Barner. Cool, We're not gonna let
JSN beat us. They made it their point to do that.
I don't know if every team in the NFL or
the next team's coming up can do that. Based on
what they have on the d line and linebackers moving
forward to the secondary, that's going to be the challenge there.
Could the Rams could do it if they really wanted to,

(38:31):
they could probably do it. Maybe the Colts because they
have Sauce. The Niners, I don't know, they have Leonora.
But a bunch of other questions there as well, So
we'll see. Yeah, just to you know, win dominating win.
It's tough to get a shout out in the NFL
because I mean, especially in this day and age, it's
tough to do. So yeah, I know they give twenty
four to Tennessee, but the defense kind of had on

(38:53):
cruise control once they got up to the thirty to
ten lead, and they kind of took their foot off
the gas.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
That won't happen again. The Right of the Year coming
up next. Hot Take Monday your chance to win a
platter of board shad sandwiches. We'll open up the phones
at two oh six two eight six ninety five ninety five.
Or you can go to the free iHeartRadio app look
for ninety three three KJR and hit the microphone icon button.
Leave your name and phone number so we find out
who you are if you win.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
That's next.
