Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us right now is the best hard hitting no
punch is pulled baseball writer in Seattle. You can check
out his stuff on sodomojo dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
We discovered him.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
He's exclusive to our show and only our show, The
Great Tremaine person. It's been too long, TP, And how
is your off season been going so far?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh? It's I mean it's going pretty good. You know,
it's staying busy. Even when the mayors aren't doing much.
There's still a lot of teams that are getting up
in their business so to speak. Yep, So you know,
it kind of writes itself. And surprisingly, it's actually been
busier in the off season than it normally has in
the regular season. So, you know, thinking that I was
(00:45):
going to be able to put my feet up and
hang out for a little while, jokes on me.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Right, I know, I seriously about how about that? Well,
that's a good thing. Dizzy's a good thing. So I
want to start real quick and give some kudos props.
I don't believe flowers, but you know that. Oh, let's
give this guy spot. But let's just give some kudos
right now to Jerry to Poto. He was named by
Baseball America the Executive of the Year in Major League Baseball, rightfully, So, man,
(01:14):
I mean Tremaine, like, wow, you talk about starting the
twenty twenty five season in the outhouse in an ending
up in the penthouse.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I mean, what a year for Jerry to poto.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Huh Yeah, I don't. I could not have projected this
type of turnaround from him, alongside the tone change from
the fan base with him. You know, he's still going
to be a little bit of you know, Jerry's gonna
be Jerry. There's still gonna be some head scratchers. You
can kind of even look at the most recent trade
(01:49):
you know, between Harry Ford and Jose Ferrer. I mean
that's you know, for some people, that's the head scratcher.
But those things are still going to exist in Jerry's world.
But when you look back at it, you know, you
start the season off and not really knowing what to
expect out of this roster. You do the right thing
by extending Kyle Rally before the guy hit sixty home runs.
(02:10):
You know what, he didn't reward him after his best season.
He you know, they kind of knew what they had
with the Rally. They did the right thing and and
locked a deal down with him. He goes on to
have the best season you know, he's had in his
career so far. Then he makes trades and at the
trade deadline brings in Josh Naylor, brings in Genus Warez. Really,
(02:32):
I mean even you look at the bringing back Hory
Polanco like that was you know, the reaction to that
was like, well, I mean, I guess he's the best
left right now on the free age and list. And
the guy hits twenty six home runs. I mean, the
guy actually looks pretty brilliant right now, all things considered.
When we were I mean we were slamming the guy
literally three hundred and sixty five days ago, you know,
(02:54):
So it's actually pretty impressive what he's been able to do.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, no, no question about it. And you mentioned for Rare.
I love the deal. I love it because I see,
I mean, look at one of the guys they just
drafted in this draft at catcher, and let's face it,
I mean, Harry Ford's not gonna be able to get
on the field anytime soon. You need a staunch left
handed reliever, and I love it. So tell us what
(03:21):
he brings to the table.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I mean, first of all, he bring this like the
like you said, like the one thing the manage haven't
had over the last you know, three or four years,
maybe even longer. He's got a nasty sinker, can hit
triple digits with it if he if he absolutely needs to.
The mayors did the right saying by actually showcasing how
good he is with that with a marketing video with
(03:45):
him recently or a bunch of highlights, and in the
highlights he actually strikes out. I think so maybe three
or four times like different you know, in different excuse me,
in different games, if that makes sense. But this, the
sink is good, the change it looks good. I think
he still needs to buckle down that slider. I hear
it's it's all right, but like it doesn't miss as
(04:06):
many barrels as the other pitches. I think the change
up is kind of what makes him some money there.
I think the best thing about him is that they
have the controllable years. So I mean, yeah, it's it
feels hard to get rid of Harry Ford. I think
that's a lot of like a Mariner's fan base, and myself,
I can be including that that kind of values him
(04:27):
a little bit higher than what was given up but
then you also think about the fact that you have
this guy who looks really promising. He's also still pretty
young as well, coming into Manners camp where you know,
we kind of make the best out of the pitchers
as long as those pitches can stay healthy. You look
at another you know, two to three promising years of
this guy. I think also, you know, you look at
(04:49):
his eer, it's a little bit inflated, like he didn't
really have a great infield. But the other thing is
also like need to do the Mariner. So we do
have a guy who can induce a lot of ground balls,
but also like we got to hope that the guys
behind him are pretty sharp because this record rate's not
exactly like where you want it to be. But at
the end of the day, you know, we needed a
(05:10):
big power left the arm come out of the bullpen.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
And it makes sense, no doubt about it. Tremain personsodomojo
dot com. I like the deal, and I think Jerry
made this deal because he knows what he's doing, and
you know it's amazing that and I too have I
will admittedly and happily eat crow bro on Jerry Depoto
and I called him Gerar and I didn't like a
(05:33):
lot of the things he'd done. And I also believe
too that he was he was sort of hamstrung by ownership.
I mean, you can only do what your bosses allow
you to do. We all have masters to serve. And
he was beholden. You know what, hey, listen. I covered
a guy Tremaine with the Rays by the name of
(05:56):
Andrew Friedman. Perhaps you've heard of him. He's a three
time he's a three time, you know, President of Baseball
Operations World Series champion. After October against the Blue Jays.
I always looked at.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Him and I said, man, look at all these moves
to I've asked him this on the show, and I
would talk to him.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I'm like, look at what you've done.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
You drafted David Price, you drafted Evan Longoria, bj Upon,
Carl Crawford, Matt Garza, James Shields, like so on a
Jason Bartlett, ben Zobrist. You built and you continue to
keep doing this, and imagine what it would be like
if you ever had At the time, I would say, like,
(06:38):
George Steinbrenner, now he's got it. His George Steinbrenner is
Mark Walter, who's the chairman of the group that owns
the Dodgers, and that's why they've won three World Series
over the course of the last six years. So now
maybe John Stanton is allowing Jerry to Poto to do
his job to the best of his abi.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yeah, I mean, we can only we can we can
only hope for that. I think, you know, obviously the
Josh Naylor resigning, Josh Naylor is a huge get. That's
a big win. That's not just for the team, but
even you know, for the fan based like if we
were looking for any signs the Manners are really going
to attempt to spend you know, they they made note
(07:23):
of it by locking him down. They obviously still have
a little bit of work to do and I think,
you know, the bulk of you know, what their off
season budget was was you know, sent to Naylor. I
think there's still some room to bring in, you know, Polanco.
I don't know if that's really going to happen, you know,
with him trying to cash in on you know, probably
his last big contract. There's a lot to work out there.
(07:47):
But regardless the fact that the Manners still we're able
to resign Nailor and they still have a little bit
of wiggle room is huge and a major difference from
last season. And you're right, like the second no word
got out that you know they're going to open up
the checkbook and really like increase the payroll. The first
thing the manage did was bringing Naylor and Suarez to
(08:10):
finish off the season. You know. So, I mean this
managed team looks very different when ownership decides to kind of,
you know, take off the leash a little bit and.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Spend no question, So you mentioned hore Plonko. What do
you think the chances are of him resigning?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I honestly don't know. I mean, I'm kind of fifty
to fifty on it. I think the biggest issue is
I don't think it's really more of like the av like.
I think, you know, him commanding up to you know,
fifteen million a year is probably something that's deserved. I
think it's probably the years that might be the hard
part for the narrators. I don't know if they really
want to commit to the years to bring them back.
(08:56):
But when you're competing between you know, if Plank wants
to win and you're holding two contracts in your hand,
is one and one is the money in the years
with the Pittsburgh Pirates or two years of the Mariners,
it probably whyts to come back to the Manners for
a couple of years, you know. So I think it's
gonna come back down to like kind of what he wants.
If he's chasing the dollar. You know, there are some
(09:18):
you know, small market teams that are founding like they're
willing to overpay right now where he could cash in.
But if he wants to win and it's not you know,
a contract on the table coming from the Dodgers or
the Blue Jay's like, come on, come back home, you know.
So that's kind of the way I look at it.
I don't know what the odds really are going to
(09:38):
be for him to return in and I'm sure the
Mariners probably have a backup plan for that.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Yeah, what about Gino Suarez. It looks right now that
down in Orlando at the Winter Meetings, Tremaine, the Red
Sox are hot for Gino. For me, I'm good, I'm good.
Let John Henry, Let John Henry overpay him. I don't
want anybody left in this pro sports market with the
name Gino.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, obviously we all love
the good vibes, right.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, sure, but we don't like the We don't like
the one sixty seven batting average.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
No no, well yeah no no.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
And the guy could barely hit over the windows aligne
with anything those over ninety seven miles an hour. It
was really bad season hitting the fastball, you know. The
last couple of years, all the Manners really wanted to
do is reduce strikeouts. And it wouldn't really make sense
to bring in a guy who strikes out a lot,
right now, This wouldn't make sense with the.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Team, right, yeah, exactly. I just I'm good on that.
To me, it was fun.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
I'll never forget Game five.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
He got this franchise closer to the World Series than
anyone ever did. He had the solo home run and
then the Grand Slam to win Game five of the ALCS.
But it's been there, done that. It's been fun, it's
been real. It's been real fun. But now it's time
to go. Who else do you see out there that
(11:07):
the Mariners should be targeting on the open market, if
anyone at all?
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yeah, I mean the first thing I think they should
do is just rip up any paperwork that has Mitch
Garber's name on it. I'm not gonna like. I just
don't think we should entertain it. I understand having him
as a backup catcher and the veteran experience is like
ideal with this familiar familiarity with the Manners. But I
do think there's actually some pretty decent backup catchers out
there that could probably command either the same amount of
(11:35):
money or you know, maybe a little bit more. I
don't I'm not saying we're going to bring in somebody
like jt riom Uto or anything like that, but I
do think maybe I think Jonah I might still be
out there right now. Actually, I also really like the
idea of the Manners talking with the Potters again. I
think Louis Campasano is a guy who you really can't
really sneeze that. He's basically the triple A home run
(11:57):
king right now in San Diego. He's the guy who
can bring some pop and he might strike out maybe
just as much as Darbard. But I do think we
need a new name in the backup catcher role, not
a name that kind of has brought a little bit
of nausea to the fan base whenever they see his
name in the lineup. So I think that's one thing
to look at. I think another name that's really getting
(12:18):
popular right now is Brendan Donovan. I think that one
is probably just long gone. The Cardinals are kind of
asking for too much. But Jake Groeningworth is a name
as well that's also being like add into the mix.
So I think it's a good idea for the Manners
to really think about who they want rotating around the infield.
He started the year off with like Ryan Bliss and
(12:39):
Cole Young bett out at second base may not be
the best plan so far, Like both have high ceilings
that both are pretty unproven, So I think there's still
like a lot of work to do. When the Manners
are thinking about how they want that infield, they look
outside of that. Outside of that, Yeah, I think they
got what they needed to get out of the bullpen. Obviously,
(13:00):
starting pitching is fine, so they can alligate, alligate, you know,
those fifteen twenty million dollars they have left to fix
in those two positions.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
So now now here's a team that's gonna run it
back and it should, you know, and especially with Polonco,
do you think there's any chance because we heard rumblings
a year ago Luis Castillo could be on the move.
Maybe he goes to the Mets well and they were
talking about, you know, what they could do. And at
the time, Pete a. Lonzo was a free agent. But
(13:30):
so he's now with the Baltimore Orioles. Do you think
there's any chance that Luis Castillo is not back here
in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I was surprised when they have already declared that they're
not shopping him. I thought, if the Mans were down
to make a big move, a big splash in the
trade market, like that's kind of the the right salary
swap that you want. There's not really anyone else that
might have the same kind of value that's on the
(14:01):
roster that you know, you can kind of trade dollars with,
not like performance wise, but this actual like dollars. Uh
Catill is your best option. So I think I think,
if it's up to the Mariners, Castillo will be wearing
a Mariner's uniform at the beginning of the season. I
think if someone calls and comes correct, I think it
will be hard for them to not make that move.
(14:23):
Also with the fact that they're converting Emerson Hancock back
to starter because they want the death there. They clearly
see something with him.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
I don't either that it's apparently what he wants and
it's what they want. I actually like the guy coming
out of the pen. He had some really good velocity,
and I think if he spent another year kind of
fine tuning more of a bulldog mentality in the pen,
he could actually be something. Moving him back to starter
I think is just almost like them not really wanting
to waste their first round pick from you know, five
(14:56):
years ago. But if they're really thinking about converting him back,
you know they're going to also add another year with
you know, Kate Anderson and his development and Logan evans
like you kind of have enough death or you have
a good amount of death that like, I don't know
why you would just be kind of sitting on that
if you didn't have a plan with one of your
other starting pitchers. So long win an answer if it's
(15:18):
up to the manors, yes, but I don't know. The
starting pitching market seems pretty like aggressive right now, and
if these teams aren't going to be locking up, you
know a lot of these free agents or once these
free agents, what's the dominos fall there? Maybe the manners
don't'll be ringing a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what happens a long
off season, But I guess it's nice. I mean, think
about this before I let you go, Tremaine. Look at
where the Mariners were one year ago and how this
team had missed the playoffs again. And look where they
are a year later, coming off of getting to Game
(15:57):
seven of the ALCS with eight outs left to possibly
go to the World Series. Boy, it might not have
been one hundred and eighty degree turnaround, but it's been
about one hundred and seventy five degree turnaround.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Yeah, I mean, I can't I can't speak for an
entire fan base. I can only imagine a lot of
our phones are probably being left alone a little bit
more right now because we're not itching to see what
the man is going to do, or begging them to
do something, or you know, digging wrestling through the dirt sheets,
because I think feel a lot more comfortable with where
the roster is right now, you know, right, And that's
(16:34):
a lot.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Right By the way you made that's an interesting reference.
Wrestling through the dirt sheets. I know exactly what. Yeah,
by the way, it's right, you do kind of like, see,
I don't care about it anymore, Tremaine, but I like
to talk about what it was, not what it currently is.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yeah, I mean, we can talk forever about what's going
on with that product. But still, you know, no born
and raised on it.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
So I know, oh, there's no doubt. It's amazing to me.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
If you ask anybody who worked in the business for
one of the big companies, whether it was WWE, w
CW or e CW, and you bring up the name
Dave Meltzer, it makes people very angry. People like Eric Bischoff,
Hunter Hurse, Helmsley, Vince McMahon, Bruce Pritchard. They it makes
(17:27):
people very angry. But yet, you know what, He's still
around after all this time. So there you go. Hey,
the dirt sheets, it's a business. He pretty much invented them.
And uh, you know, hey, man, I remember back in
the day when you know, when you had the Big Three,
when it was ww F, before it was WWE, e
(17:49):
c W and w CW. I remember every day I'd
go to one Wrestling dot Com. That was my that
was my jam every day, and I just refresh, refresh,
did Bob Ryders say, what did Wade Teller say with
the pro wrestling torch? What I mean, I was obsessed
it was it was not good. It was not good.
It probably should have spent my time a little bit more, uh,
(18:13):
you know, doing something else. But anyway, Hey, so that
being said, Tremaine, good to hear your voice.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Always a pleasure.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
We'll touch base and let's see what this Mariner's off
season brings.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Thanks so much, Mark, appreciate you having me.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Off absolutely all right.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Uh, I love talking to Tremaine person.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
He's one of the best.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
He doesn't pull punches, and he's not a marshmallow who
just does fluff stuff, fluff and stuff, you know, like
certain like a lot of sports writers who cover the
Mariners in this town I call marshmallows because you give
him a Hershey, a Hershey chocolate bar and a Graham
Cracker and there smores, that's what they are. Not Tremaine person.
He does not pull punches. We appreciate him as always.
(18:55):
What do you say, Text of the day coming up next?
You know what, kid, I think I gotta listen to
my therapist, to you, to a lot of people, I
think when it comes to the daily haters on the
text line. I probably need to stop replying. It's probably
a waste of my time because it takes away my energy.
(19:16):
It's exhausting. And here's the thing about it, it's like
they're so transparent in the sense that it's like, still
not listening, you're texting? How are you texting the show?
Beij Like this guy allegedly his name is Beja, by
the way, fitting too that.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
It's it's just like you're you.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
People are exhausting, literally, and I'm wasting time instead of
devoting it to being something positive to the show. It's
literally Christopher kid, he never held a gun in my head.
He doesn't, He's never held a gun in your head.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
To listen. If you don't want to listen, then just don't.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Just do it or don't do it, but you have
to tell me about it because you starved for attention.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
You need therapys. You people need therapy. And you know
who I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
I can name all of your names, but I won't
do it. But you're the ones who need therapy, and
I'm the ones who go to I go to it.
I need to really start to allocate my time and
and from now on.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
You know what? Hey, you know what? Man?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
You want to be disrespectful, you want to you want
to do things and verbally harass me every day. Guess
what I can do? What Alonso morning and the late
great to kembe mutambo, dude, I can block all your asses.
Then you won't be texting any of the shows.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
How do you?
Speaker 1 (20:32):
How do you like that one? This is a good
one to start it. Congrats and deserve to the POTO.
Too bad he didn't get to choose the manager. Then
damager got forced on him. Yes, that's the thing to
the bit that uh me and my guy Tommy A
did the damager on Dan the manager. No, but hopefully
(20:55):
the POTO will get to pick the manager if he
does not come through next year.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
Who's afraid of Philip Rivers? Not the Seattle Seahawks. It's
gonna be an easy win, and then we move on
to what really matters.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
That's it. That's it.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Next effing go NFC West Divisional Championship game next next
Thursday night, Next Thursday night, let's go.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
If the haters, MJ, you're crushing it. We love you
in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
MJ. You're a great addition to kg R MJ. I'm
still listening. Well, thank you all, each and every one
of you.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
For some reason, call it crazy, but I actually think
Philip Rivers will be just fine. Maybe it'll take a
few big hits, but if he does play, I expect
him to get beat down.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
But I think he'll be fine.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Oh boy, it's tough to really compare the nWo and
DX entrance music. I love the DX music, but how
can it really compete with Hendricks? That's true, And maybe
you're referring to the uh, the Hollywood Hogan Jimmy Hendricks
Voodoo Child entrance theme.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
You know that one? Will I stand on.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Next to the mountain chopping down from the edge of
my hand? Yeah, I think you're talking about that one
now that that was a sick one and of itself.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Did Jerry Depoto win that award with fifty of the vote.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
He's never gonna live that one now, kid, huh, He's
never gonna live that one now.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
The fifty.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Oh my lord, oh my lord, that.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Is funny, funny, funny.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
That one got me. I did not hit that one.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Jerry Depoto should share the award with Mark and Kid,
or at least buy them dinner as it was obviously.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Oh, it's just refreshed on me. Oh, it's just refreshed
on me in the middle while I was ridding it.
Oh that sucks. Oh I'm sorry you. That would look
like a good one.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Held all I knew and said Jared Apoto should buy
me and kid dinner. And anytime we're talking about buying
me like getting free meals, I'm all in it. MJ.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
Not sure what they do on the East Coast, but
in Seattle, when there's inclement weather, snow or flooding, the
news stations tell you, if it's not necessary, don't get
out and drive. Meanwhile, they proceed to film themselves driving
around and doing all the above.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
True that true that? Uh, that's pretty funny, man. That
is pretty fire our This one just came in. Don't refresh.
I want to read this one. Uh Hey, MJ. I'm
a mid sixties PMW native and f and love your show,
your breadth of fresh air. Here we've been blessed with
some amazing hosts in his town, but frankly felt still
(23:56):
as of lately. Thanks for running into town and bringing
some which needed energy, and he did the uh like
the nWo sign thank you, Yeah, back at you, bro
back at you the click sign back at you.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Could you guys find out who are the main folks
that said the Seahawks would go seven and ten to
begin the year. Really interested in who the ones that
were pushing that narrative.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I can tell you one of them came on this show.
He's very good. We'll get him on again soon, Kevin Clark.
Because he didn't believe in Sam Donald. Oh boy, he
did not believe in Sam Donald. So there's that. Uh yeah,
all right, you gotta admitted, MJ. You do say some
crazy ish and maybe it's not that crazy, but the
(24:40):
delivery is so manic. Sometimes it's like God, they brother, chill, Okay,
you know.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
You're right, you haint wrong, you hate wrong.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
You do know the Niners are still alive and so
far have us or are ahead of the Seahawks and
head to head?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Correct?
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Say that ast part again, kid.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
The Niners are ahead of the Seahawks right now.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Well, head to head. But I mean, here's the thing.
If the Seahawks take care of business and win their
next four games, they win the division and more than
likely clinch the one seed. They can take care of
business don't need to scoreboard watch, don't need to do
any of that crap.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Never Jeremy.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Jeremy met the great Jody who from our sales department,
who's amazing. On Sunday, Jeremy came out to my Seattle
away game Rumble Watch party against the Falcons. Jeremy is
a very loyal listener. He goes, mj block my ass
on the text line. I'll make a call to Jody
and get it reinstated. Good seeing you both on Sunday. Now,
never block you, Jeremy, Never block you.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Last one from me. In my opinion, Big Sexy and
Razor Ramone was the best pro wrestling combo ever.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
I so, but did you like them? You put Razor Ramona,
it's Razor Ramone.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Did you like.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Them as Diesel and Razor Ramone or did you liked
them as Holland Nash.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
I liked Holland Nash Bear.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
By the way, there's certain things I'm gonna go add here, kid,
there's certain things that should not be on television anymore.
We don't want to scare the little children after Halloween,
and what I'm speaking about right now, I'm gonna go
on a little bit of a rant Chris Berman. Chris
Berman should never be on television again. We don't want
to scare the little children. Okay, Mommy, Oh no, sorry, Johnny, sorry, Susie. Oh.
(26:29):
That's a guy who peaked back in the eighties when
Ronald Reagan was president. Why is he still on the air?
I literally don't know. Why is this guy still on
the air. He does count down with Booker McFarlane. They
let him do the fastest three minutes. I'm like, why
is he still on the air. I shouldn't. I don't
mind his voice being up, well, I do, but like
when he does the fastest three minutes during halftime in
(26:50):
Monday Football, I'm okay with that. He should his face
should no longer be on the air. Okay, just saying
this Sunday feels like a Hawk's wind, but a Colts cover.
Since fourteen point favorites look more and more like a
trap game, I'll tell you what, man, you want to
bet at a forty four year old grandpa. That's on you, Pal,
that's on you, dude, that's on you. Yeah, and listen,
(27:15):
gotta take care of business. And I'm still not counting
out the forty nine ers. I'm still not counting out
the forty nine ers, because these guys are like, as
Tony Montpano would say, Cockcart Roaches, Guy Holland Nash and
it's not close, too sweet.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Or the Yeah, no, they were.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
The Rest in peace, Scott Hall. I've got I've met
Scott Hall many times. I worked with Scott Hall when
he came in to do a weekend shot in ECW.
I love Scott Hall. Rest in peace to the bad guy.
He was the best man. I wish he was still
here with us. He was.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
He started it all.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
What you were whatever people refer to now as the
Golden Era, the attitude era. It all started when Scott
Hall jumped the railing and making Georgia on WCW Monday
nightro and he got kicked kill the music for a
second kid, and he.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Got in the mic. He go hey, y'all.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
He goes, you know who I am, but you don't
know why I'm here. And the crowd was stunned. They
thought he literally they thought this was all real. That
Vince McMahon sent him down at wc W and it
looked real, and he goes.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
You want a war, you want a war.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
You're gonna get one, and and that, and it was
in the business change from that night for the next
four or five years because of the late Great Scott
Hall Rest in peace, Razor Ramon, he was the best.
All right, we'll talk to the mayor of Maple Valley
and see if the see what the you know, if
the Kraken, can they stop this six game losing streak,
(28:59):
and can Philip Rivers, like you know what the worst
part of here, kid?
Speaker 2 (29:04):
And I don't I'm not worried about.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
This, but just think about there's a flip side to
that coin. What if Philip Rivers comes in here on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
And starts having some success.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Can you imagine they're gonna be getting Hey Andrew, They're gonna.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Hey Brady, we need you. We don't need you in
the booth anymore, we need.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
You on the field, Hey Andrew, luck, come on back come.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I mean, can you imagine if he just saying you're
not gonna win. But magine if he looks okay, he
doesn't throw any picks. He could sling the pill.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Now. I don't know if he can as a forty
four year old grandpa. By the way, do you know
he has like twelve kids twelve kids.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I mean, man, you know they have clinics for people
who like you know, the wives can't get pregnant, and hey,
just go to the River's family.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Just go to the River's family. Don't don't hook you up.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Don't get those eggs artificially inseminated, Missus rivers. Nine months
later you will have a baby, guaranteed. Yeah, Philip, I
got news for you, pal. It's gonna be a long
day on Sunday. It's gonna be a tough day. And
I'll tell you what right now. Ninety nine Byron Murphy,
(30:20):
Jaron Reid, Ernest Jones, Reeq Woolen, Witherspoon, Julie Love. They're
gonna make you wish. They're gonna knock you back into retirement. Partner,
You're gonna wish, You're gonna wish you stayed at home
with the wife and the eighteen kids.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
All right, we'll talk to the mayor coming up next.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
All right, thank you, remain in person, Mike Beden for
joining us, and Mike Dugar tomorrow, Charles Davis and Lincoln Kennedy.
I've never heard of a bowl game that takes place
in the day of Army Navy that's a new one.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Is that the first year? It seems like it is.
This one's always early, so yeah, this one's all how old?
This is what? I don't even remember? It was Jimmy
kimmelble Oh well no, wonder why I don't remember it? Yeah, yeah,
worst yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Well the worst with him doing it. Well that's exactly it.
But yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So are the kracking going
to get it done tonight?
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Can they score? I know, I know they got to score.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
Yeah, I got to score a goal, man, more than one.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
I think tonight they will. I think tonight they got
to get it done. And it's going to be a
grindout game though. The Kings are one of those teams
the right. Yeah, they've seen a lot of those teams lately.
So yeah, we'll see you.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
You know who? The next Washington State had football coaches
who you do know? I don't, Yeah you do.
Speaker 6 (31:50):
I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
I have no idea. Oh I thought you did?
Speaker 6 (31:53):
No, Oh, well tell you this.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Let me tell you that.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
I just some well I figured because Jets, I think
Jets knows, she doesn't, she doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Nobody knows.
Speaker 6 (32:03):
Honestly, I don't think can't well knows President Cantwell, we
had her on yesterday.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
I don't think she knows. Oh I thought you guys knew. No,
they have.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Apparently there's a story that Kirby Moore is there today,
who's the offensive coordinator at Missouri, who's from Prosser, which
is a couple hours away from Pulmand over there in
Wine Country at Central Washington. Kellen Moore's brother. Is that
because Kirby he was a receiver at Boise State, you remember,
But he's kind of an up and coming college coach.
(32:30):
Like I said, ohc in the SEC. So he's there today.
Greg greg Wood, who's a beat writer, just said something
he's there today, but uh yeah, we got Luke falkon today.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
He goes the job. Okay, well we'll see what he
has to say about that. I think, like anything else,
and this goes like for any job. Here's the thing.
I know a lot of people. I know you salty
at Jimmy Rodgers. He got a powerful coaching offer. No
I gain you know what I mean? And it sucks
because you guys are you know you got to go
through all this whole thing again. You just don't want
(32:59):
you know, when that writer in Mississippi said you don't
make the whole housewife.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
He knew what he was talking about.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
And and you know, from a personal standpoint, a buddy
of mine's like, you know, we should hire Lane Kiffin.
He wanted the job multiple times. His girlfriends in Boca.
But then now he's in me. He's like, and he
would have sold us out as soon as LSU came calling.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Well, here's the thing. It doesn't like.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
We brought this up yesterday with you know, we were
talking about it a little bit. It really doesn't matter
unless you're I don't even know how many jobs are
in the cut. Maybe Alabama, maybe Ohio State. I'm just
trying to think of places that wouldn't lose their coach.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Ah, yes, and let the NFL.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
Right, and the NFL comes calling, then you know, I
mean it's it's really everyone can.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Lose your coach. I just didn't like Michigan lost their coach. Michigan. Well,
they went to the NFL, so I can write with that.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
Sure, But you know, we bring up Washington went to
the National Championship Game, and you know, two days later
he's in Alabama. That's so it does It doesn't matter
if you're Wazoo wyoming ole miss in the playoffs. It
doesn't matter who you are, you're gonna probably lose a coach.
I didn't like it. I never will like it how
he handled it, because you're here for less than a
calendar year, and and you knew it was a stepping
(34:12):
stone job. Not you knew it for one day. Like
you knew it. That was like your whole It was
part of your plan. And to be gone after one
year is greasy now.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
I know that.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
We've talked about we Wazoos talked about going after Jason
Ecket New Mexico. I don't think he's gonna do that,
even though it would be a step up because Mountain
West is a shadow of a Shelves former self, the
new PAC twelve. I don't think he's gonna do it.
But uh yeah, listen, it's just a greasy business man.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
We all know.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
It's very business. Who you got to know busy.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
We got to super Mandel right at the top talking
about Collge football playoffs.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Yeah, thank him for me? Yeah, I will Hi Kim,
thank you. Suert Mandel was one of the ones. Luke
Fa is going to join us.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
He will pend a long letter as to why he
wants to be the next coach at Washingt State University,
which is interesting because he's never coached before, even though
he's the all time leaving pastor in the PAC twelve.
So we'll talk to Luke coming up at one point
twenty and then Coach Holl.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
We're going at two o'clock. Great show in Fornacal Mayor.
Thanks for Chstopher Kid. We'll see to themrow
