MJ isn't pleased and perhaps there's fans that feel the same way as the Seahawks had to rely on the leg of Jason Myers to kick and make six field goals. MJ also looks at guys who played well and others that struggled. As MJ hits to all fields he plays audio from a tired NY Mets fan.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where you're coming in off of Dashpoint you're basically going
by saka juwaya middle school and taking the left from
dash Point Road on a pack highway. Yeah, for those
of you that had to deal with basically going a
half mile and taking thirty five to forty minutes, I'm
with you. I don't understand why that happened, but yet
it's happening. It really happened. So that's a whole nother thing,

(00:24):
which I'll leave my traffic issues. Thankfully made it here
on time. Nonetheless, I still don't understand too. When you
get around the pier, why the lights are not synchronized.
Two lights are green, and then the next one you
go to is red, the next one's green, the next

(00:45):
one's red. I don't get that. But that's a whole
nother thing. I came on this show the day after
the loss in La to the Rams over a month ago.
Felt really good. I felt that better after that loss,

(01:10):
knowing that despite the fact that our quarterback Sam Darnold
threw not one, not two, not three, but four interceptions,
and this defense still put the team in a position
to win the game on a sixty one yard walkoff
field goal, which by the way, is extremely tough to make,

(01:33):
and I felt really good about that. After that game,
I said, Nah, no, I'm feeling better about it. I
really am. I don't feel so good today after yesterday,
I really don't. Yeah, you got to win, and an
ugly win beats a pretty loss eight days a week

(01:54):
and ten times on Sunday, So I'm not going to
you know, if anything, at the end of the day,
the last and truest meritocracy is the final score after
a game is over that cannot be taken away. So

(02:19):
I'm gonna sit here and yeah, you got the win,
But that, to me was absolutely a pathetic, embarrassing win
by the Seattle Seahawks yesterday. You needed your field goal
kicker to kick not one, not two, not three, not four,

(02:42):
not five, but six field goals, including a fifty six
yard game winner, to beat a team with a forty
four year old grandpa who hasn't suited up in five years.

(03:03):
You got to be kidding me, and it hit me. So,
you know, yesterday postgame press conference, I waited and waited
and waited for everybody, the beat writers and the people
who cover this team on a daily basis, to ask
their questions, and no one asked the question that I
wanted to be asked. So I asked Mike McDonald the

(03:24):
question that everybody wants to know. I'ndus kicking because there's.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Something that did because obviously he's a guy and you're
facing the forty four year old quarterback hasn't played in
five years, and maybe it's just sort of a human nature,
perhaps a look ahead or seemed like the.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Team came in a little letharging today, especially in the
first half.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Now I'm trying to we do our process and we
go attack it and let's go.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Now.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
They had a really good game plan in terms of
how they were operating and and I mean, you got
to take your head off to.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
To fill. I mean, he's just did a great job.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Managing the game. Didn't put the ball in jeopardy until
he had to. We could have put probably forced some
more of those situations, but they did a good job,
you know, So, and is what does They're a good
football team.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
They're a good football team who lost three in a
row going into yesterday with a forty four year old
guy that they call Peepaw because his first name is
Phil because he's a grandfather and he hasn't played in
five years.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
So I mean, Mike McDonald to me, you know how
much how much I love the fact that this guy
is a Seahawks head coach And I'm not putting this
on him because I've got to believe that this guy
who's only thirty eight, And I mean, like, I'm looking

(04:54):
at this from a preparation standpoint, and I think the
team was prepared to a certain extent. But I think
it would have been better for Seattle yesterday if Daniel
Jones was healthy. I think they would have taken him seriously.
And this was a definite, absolute look ahead game by

(05:18):
these guys. In that locker room, you could say what
you want, and you could say what you will after
the game. I wish I would have asked the same
question to Cooper Cup because I think he's the one
guy on this team that doesn't give you the jock
talk stock answer. He gives it to you straight. They
definitely looked ahead. And I have to tell you, if

(05:44):
you think that you're gonna be able to beat the
l A Rams, who have never lost to Seattle, when
Matthew Stafford is the starting quarterback six and zero to
quote that former heavy metal band Judas Priest. You got
another thing coming that was embarrassing yesterday. Embarrassing Vegas made

(06:10):
you a thirteen and a half point favorite, and you
had to eke out a win versus a Jerry Atrick
blue Hair, who's gonna be getting his AA R PETE
card very soon. In Philip rivers, I don't know, I
don't know. I and Sam Darnold didn't play bad yesterday.

(06:33):
They couldn't get in the end zone. But he didn't
play bad. He didn't turn the ball over. You had
to have known going into Okay, here's gonna be their offense,
quick screen passes. As soon as he gets the ball,
he's gonna throw quick screen passes to Pittman or whoever

(06:55):
hand off to Jonathan Taylor and Tyler Warren and maybe
shallow that you're gonna have to release the ball within
two and a half seconds. That guy stayed in the
game for four quarters and with fifty two seconds left,
walked off the field with a lead until his defense

(07:16):
blew it. It's embarrassing. It's an embarrassing win. It's embarrassing
when playing simple. I don't feel as good about this
team as I did a week ago. I just don't.
I don't. Embarrassing win really was. I felt better after

(07:37):
the loss to the Rams. I felt like that was
a great loss. I really did. That's like losing to
Duke and Cameron indoor Stadium. That's what they call. That's
what the tournament committee calls a quality Q one loss.
You know what yesterday was. Yesterday was a Q five win.

(07:59):
Just as bad, really bad, but a definite look ahead,
definite trap look ahead. And I do believe if Daniel
Jones was healthy, I believe we would have seen a
better Seahawks team. I think Philip Rivers it's just human aiated, like,
come on, man, this dude, really we're gonna we're really

(08:23):
gonna worry about Philip freakin' Rivers after five years of retirement,
semi retirement. He threw for one hundred and twenty seven yards.
I mean, it's that was an embarrassing win.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
It just was.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I you know what. I hope they turned it around
for Thursday night. I believe the best Seahawks team will
show up Thursday night at five point fifteen at Lumenfield.
The best Seahawks team will show up Thursday night at
five point fifteen at Lumenfield. But yesterday that was pathetic.

(09:01):
It's a pathetic win. Don't feel good about it at all.
They only do you know how many quarterback hits they
had on Philip Rivers all game? Four four and one
of them was a was a bad snap and he
just kind of fell down. Four quarterback hits on a

(09:21):
forty four year old man, you hit Matthew Stafford. You
only touch Matthew Stafford four times on Thursday night. WHOA,
that's going to be ugly, really ugly. And here's the
thing the Hawks defense played. You know, they only gave
him two hundred and fifteen total yards. It was a

(09:43):
definite look ahead. You can say what you want and say, oh,
it's a really good team. They're a forty four year
old quarterback, a grandpa. I would have respected it more
if it was Andrew Luck, who came into the league
a decade after Phil Rivers did. It was Andrew Luck,
I would said, all right, you know he still got it.

(10:04):
You know he's been off for a while, but he's
he's We're talking about a guy who was drafted in
the top three of the two thousand and four NFL
draft and he's been off for five years. This wasn't
like Aaron Rodgers who's been playing consecutively for twenty plus years.

(10:24):
So the guy who's been retired for five years and
you barely won. Yeah, yeah, I was bad. Your thoughts
Hot Take Monday, I expect you loaded up platter of
bor Said sandwiches. Let's go snaping the fingers LFG Hot

(10:44):
Take Monday. I might have to give away ten Booresaid
platters today. There should be a lot of you upset
about that game yesterday. Yeah, I just that was extremely
underwhelming and disappoint There's no other way to describe it.

(11:05):
So go to the free iHeartRadio app. Look for ninety
three to three KGr microphone icon button rant away. We'll
save them up at noon. We'll open up the phone
lines at noon, and the winner gets a platter of
Boarshead sandwiches. I expect to hear a lot of people
and if you got to swear, Kid'll beep it out.
He'll be ed Reid last line of defense. You won't

(11:27):
get past them. Unlike Joey de Court last night against
the Buffalo Sabers, you won't get past kid. I promise you,
it's bad. I want to give a huge props to
the Washington Huskies. Thank you, Jedfish, thank you very much.
I had you on Saturday Night big time. You covered that,

(11:52):
no problem, loved it. I had minus ten and a
half eleven eleven and a half. I don't even know,
I forgot, but Huskies cloted out close out the season
the right way. And normally I'm not big on bowl games,
but for this Washington team, especially after the disappointing loss
to Oregon to end the regular season, to close out

(12:13):
the way they did Saturday Night in LA was really great.
I think it's great that Jedfish and Demon Williams, Jordan Washington,
Hayden Vines Bright, that these guys are back next year.
I expect one year from today, one year from today,
or one year from last Monday, we'll be talking about

(12:37):
the Washington Huskies and the twelve team college football payoffs.
That's how much. And by the way, that should not
be a goal. That should be the expectation on Motlake. Now.
I know Boise State is in Ohio State. I get it.
It's a great way to close out this season. Saw
some things and should have ended up with ten wins

(12:58):
this year. Should have never lost a win Wisconsin, but
close out the season the good way. Just curb stomp
Boise State, and congrats to the Washington Huskies, and thank
you for covering. I needed it big time. Yeah, yeah, thankfully.
I hit on all three player props yesterday. Josh Allen
one and a half touchdown passes over cover, Sam Darnold

(13:22):
over two hundred and thirty five, two hundred and thirty
six and a half passing yards over cover, Jysen ninety
eight and a half receiving yards over cover. Unfortunately, didn't
cover the Seahawks minus thirteen and a half and didn't
cover the halftime bet of the Seahawks minus two and

(13:43):
a half. Didn't do that, couldn't get in the end
zone once yesterday against the Colts. You know, the Jags
just put like thirty seven points on the Colts like
two weeks ago. Okay, wo wow. I guess what's the
good news is that the Seahawks control their own destiny.

(14:05):
They went out. They're NFC West Divisional champs in the
one seed with a bye. But you better not show
up on Thursday night to a gunfight with a super soaker,
because that team, I assure you, even without Devonte Adams,
who looks like he won't be available. They're coming and

(14:26):
they own you. Jody Allen and the Allen estate does
not own the Seattle Seahawks. Sean McVeigh and Matthew and
Matthew Stafford don't do. They're six and zero. They own you.
You better not show up Thursday night the way you
played with that piss poor performance yesterday. That was horrible,

(14:48):
horrible MJ from James an overreaction Monday, a lifelong fan
Seahawks fan of fift fifty years. They always played down
to their opponents, asked softy ask Ian or even your
producer kid. No, I know, I know, I know. Last
year with the Bears sixty three, I know, I know,

(15:10):
I get it. I get it. Our lame kickoff team
gave them great field position all game. You're absolutely right,
Actually that's a great point. Two horrible kickoffs basically resulted
in ten points for the Colts. Ten points. So it

(15:34):
was just hmm yeah, yeah, that was embarrassing, embarrassing when
it's all I'm gonna say, and gotta be better. You
better be better Thursday night. Because they owned the Seahawks.
They literally own the Seahawks on the field they do.
And and if you come out playing you think you're

(15:54):
gonna you think you're gonna score you know, you think
you're gonna score threes against the Rams. And to win
that game, not gonna happen, sweetheart, Not going to happen.
So that was as bad as it got, bad as
it got, all right, Studs and duds coming up next

(16:19):
and next hour we will speak to Cameron Wolf from
NFL Network about what he saw yesterday. Ran into Charles
Davis after the game, said al to M, he loves
come on, kid. I didn't realize how tall Charles Davis is.
He's a tall guy. He's tall, like he's he's taller

(16:40):
than I thought he was. And he's in great shape
and he loves coming on and everything. So and yeah,
I mean, listen, a win is a win, right at
the end of the day, you want to control. Just
imagine how tainted the game would be Thursday night if
you didn't take care of business yesterday. You took care
of business. Thing to JMI, Jason Myers, We're not worthy

(17:02):
of you. We are not worthy of you, all right,
MJ and the Midday Hot Take Monday, go to the
free iHeartRadio app and look for ninety three to three
KJR rant away and we will give away a platter
of bor said sandwiches coming up at noon. Christopher Kid
MJ in the midday and a guy who hit all

(17:22):
six field goals yesterday. It's just amazing to have him.
We're not worthy of having him. And I mean listen,
and it wasn't exactly like yesterday was the greatest weather,
but he came through. And if he doesn't hit all
six of those field goals, the Seahawks do not win
the game he want. That will be the JMI game,

(17:44):
the Jason Myers game. So kudos to him. Nicki min Moore,
who continues to just be a beast, absolute beast. I mean,
you watch this guy and it's like, this is what
we turned DK Metcalf. We turned over DK Metcalf and

(18:04):
to Nicki Menmoory, I think that's aging quite well. I
think that's aging. Like Jessica Biel very nicely, very nicely.
Oh she's still as beautiful as she was twenty years ago,
twenty five years ago and on the duds list K nine, Wow,

(18:25):
I kid, I mean I didn't realize it. I was
at the game yesterday. I didn't realize it was that bad.
Seventeen rushing yards on nine carries for K nine. Well,
we going up against the eighty five Bears here, I mean,

(18:45):
good god, he's wow. Yeah, yeah, just bad kid. Give
it to me. I'm gonna let you take it away.
The rest of the sagment your thoughts yesterday. In my
opinion on the Pissport performance win.

Speaker 6 (19:03):
I'll say the Seahawks are playing winning football, not championship football.
And to your point, championship teams don't look as poorly
as they did now. To my point that I made
about a week ago, facing adversity, that was a game
where they faced some the offense had nothing for them.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Zilt couldn't do anything.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
They relied on their kicker, who they paid, and maybe
they should give a bonus to maybe they, you know,
figure out a way to give him an extra two
million after what he did on Sunday versus the Colts,
because without him this team is having an l on
the record right now. But because of him they're winning.
And also the defense as well. The defense I've for

(19:44):
giving up one touchdown. I mean again, they held this
team to sixteen points. That's a victory. They're gonna do that.
If they can do that weekend and week out, they're
winning the super Bowl with that defense. I think that's given.
But they got to figure out how to run the
ball because you're not gonna win Nope. But this performance
they were two of twelve on third downs. You're not

(20:06):
winning doing that. You just can't sustain an offense being
that poorly on third down.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
You just can't.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
If Jason is not catching the ball and you can't
run the football. What's the Seahawks offense exactly? Nobody knows.
It's not good.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
There's no identity.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
So they the offense we all know is talented and
they have opportunities to do something special. For fifteen weeks,
the run game has never been constant. It hasn't been like, damn,
you know what. They can run the football when they
need to. They still haven't. They've had games where it's
been better than previous games, but they haven't put together

(20:44):
back to back weeks of consistent running the football, and
that could be a problem.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Actually not could.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
I think it will be a problem. There is a
reason why they will probably win the first wildcard game
if they don't capture the one seed and then they're
out the next round. That's a high possibility. And I
don't think it'll be all on Sam Donald. But when
you can't run the football effectively, they just take away
everything else. They teams are realizing, Yeah, jsin the best

(21:13):
receiver in the NFL. Okay, let's literally take him out
of the game. Oh, you're gonna throw the Cooper Cup
for nine eight yards.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
We'll live with that.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
You're gonna throw the Shiheed. We'll try to make it
very tough for you to get the ball over the top.
So now it's the offense. If the run game is
not effective, that's a recipe for the Seahawks to be
out in that second round.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
You better be able to run the ball Thursday night.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
But that's it. I don't think it's just miraculous. Is
gonna change him? Jay, You've seen this sample size for
fifteen weeks. I don't think they're gonna run the ball
well on Thursday. I'm just gonna go out and say it.
They might have a couple of rounds that hit here.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
It couldn't be any worse than what he did yesterday.
Oh yeah, I won't. I don't think it'll be as
bad as it was.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
But you're also going up against a team that's a
lot better than the Colts defensively.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah. So yeah, it's one of those things where I
don't open and they are a lot better offensively too. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
I'm not sitting here thinking that the Arts are gonna
run for kem Water's gonna have fifteen cares for eighty yards.
I don't see that happening. I really don't. That's just
they're gonna have to just figure it out. Maybe they
unlock some new plays, but it's week fifteen. How many
new plays they got right, They've phoned everything out there.
So from my standpoint, I think it'll be a tough

(22:20):
game for them. I'll end up losing and you'll go
from there.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah, you already picked the Rams last week. I'm not
there yet. I'm gonna wait till we get to Thursday
and talk to you know, once we get to Thursday,
and I'll give my my thoughts then. But it's gonna
be very tough.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
You know.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
The one thing about the NFL, though, kid, is this,
you can't allow week to week to become a to
be a continuum unless you have an eleven game winning
streak like the Denver Broncos. Then you want that. You
got to make sure it's an anthology. You got to
make sure that every game and every week is different.

(22:59):
And I'm hoping, I'm hoping that Thursday night we will
see the best version of the twenty twenty five Seattle Seahawks.
I'm hoping we do, and I'm hoping they got that
out of their system. They did win the game, and
at the end of the day, I mean, you won,

(23:20):
but I just look at them different now, that's all.
It's like. You know, I'm a single guy. You're happily married. Man.
It's like when you're dating somebody and everything's going swimmingly
and everything's going great, and she just kind of unsolicited.
Not anyone I'm dating right now, but this has happened

(23:41):
in the past.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
I stay in touch with all of my exes. I
talk to them all the time, and it's like whoa,
whoa red flag, red flag? Wait a second, excuse me,
are you serious? Oh? Okay, So when they're catching feelings
or they just need a two am booty call, you're
there for them. That's how that translates to somebody that

(24:04):
you're currently dating. That was yesterday, that was the Seahawks.
We're still keeping in touch with our ex's and we're
still gonna play the way we have in recent years,
down to the level of the competition, kind of like
the Bears game six to three last year. That's what
I took from that. Okay, you're still playing to the

(24:27):
level of the competition. Well, I hope that's true on
Thursday night, because that level of competition is going to
be exponentially improved. And I got news for you. The
guy that you're facing, especially after a blown twenty one
point lead yesterday in New England, is probably gonna win
the MVP in Matthew Stafford. And he has been playing
football every year and there's been no five year layoff,

(24:49):
and he'll be ready on Thursday night. So we'll leave
it at that. Leave it at that. But I was
embarrassed yesterday. It was an embarrassing win. Proud of the
loss after the Rams they said the day after we
came on the air, I feel good about it. Yes,
Sam had a horrible game, but the team and the
defense put them in a position to win the game

(25:12):
on a Jason Meyers sixty one yard walk off field goal.
I don't feel so great after yesterday. And anybody who
doesn't think that the players were not looking ahead to
the Rams on Thursday night, you are in You are
in La La Land, and I don't mean la like.

(25:32):
They were definitely looking ahead. And I think it had
to do in large part to Philip Rivers five year
semi retirement and forty four year old quarterback. And I
believe the better Seahawks would have showed up if Daniel
Jones was playing. I believe Daniel Jones was playing, the
Seahawks would have scored three touchdowns yesterday. I really believe

(25:54):
that I do. But you get out with a win,
all right. What happens when a fan literally throws in
the towel on his lifelong favorite team. This hurt my heart.
This hurts my heart. See what you think when you
hear this next and you can hear the sincerity in
his voice. We'll get to that next MJ and the

(26:16):
Midday with Christopher Kid and then Cameron Wolf from NFL
Network will join us at eleven. Don't forget hot Take
Monday at noon your chance to win a platter of
board hit sandwiches. Go to the free iHeartRadio app look
for ninety three to three KJR rant away and then
we'll open up the phones at noon. Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
I'm fifty nine years old. I've been a Mets fans
for fifty five of those years. David Stearns has destroyed
my fandom. People get attached to players on teams, no
matter what the sport they started with them on. I
was okay, they let the guys go. I'm okay. Then
everyone's thinking they are definitely signing Alonzo, our guy, Alonzo's
our guy. Yep, this happens, and I know it's a business,

(27:01):
and I know there's money. What I am done. I
donated my met gear to a good will this morning.
I've got cups here that I'm gonna give to my
son in law. You can hear my very shaking because
I'm disaffected by it. I am done. I'm not. I'm
not last year. I'm a one game a year guy.
Last year I went to four. I spent over twelve

(27:23):
hundred dollars on my time driving from Connecticut to Queen's,
paying the tolls, paying the parking, paying the concessions. I'm done.
Who you know that's this whole three year thing. Who's
he going to get for three years. These guys that
are hit free agency at thirty are gonna want five
years because they know they're getting into that third decade
of their life. Who's coming here for three years? Cody

(27:44):
Dollonder's gonna come here for three years? What's he getting
when he's thirty three and his contract's over? Can can
you help me out here? I will make say I'm
just good.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Well that was a caller into of all shows, the
Michael k Show, which I thought no longer existed when
he was kind of taken off the Afternoon show. He's
the voice of the New York Yankees on TV. But
when I heard that, that hurt my heart because I
could hear the sincerity and authenticity in his voice. And

(28:16):
it does hurt. It's gotta hurt when you lose the
three most popular players on one team. Imagine if the
Mariners said goodbye to Cal Julio and didn't re sign
Josh Naylor, because I would say, Josh Naylor is one
of the most popular, or Cal Julio and Logan Gilbert. Yeah,
everybody here would be going crazy and I would understand that.

(28:37):
And that's what Mets fans are going through right now.
So I'm I feel for that fan and he donated
all of his mets geared goodwill. Well, that's at least
it went to a worthy cause. That's good. But man,

(29:00):
that's a tough one to take. That's a tough one
to take. I'm not gonna lie, and I feel sorry
that a fan has come to that point in their
life where they're like, I'm just done. I'm done. That's sad.
I hate to hear that because sports is about the
fans first, foremost and always forever. Coming up next, Cameron

(29:22):
Wolf NFL Network will talk about the Seahawks and the
Big One Thursday Night MJ in the midday
