Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mike, what do you think about that?
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Man?
Speaker 1 (00:02):
Would that not be lit? Would that not be fire?
Tomorrow night?
Speaker 3 (00:04):
If the Hawks come out to Degeneration X or what lit? Fire?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Those are adjectives you could choose. I guess I have
that situation. I think if Chris and I were in
charge of we're in charge of the music, we would
probably go in a different direction.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Oh, I don't know, kidd.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Kid, would you like that if they came out to
d X music? Would that be cool?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Or what?
Speaker 4 (00:30):
As a wrestling fan, I would go with the rock.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Oh, that's great, that.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Open, But there are some songs that I would also
dive into. But no, I wouldn't mind a little WWE
because they're about to get real violent on the field.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
But I hear you, Mike, you're good.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Right, and they're not trying to pull punches like they
you know, they won't be pulling any punches out there. No, no, no,
there won't be no pull punches, I can assure you
tomorrow night. So, Mike, before we get to that, I
saw you on Sunday at the game. I'm still in
shock and a little incredulous. How did a forty four
year old grandpa who's been on the rocking chair, retired
(01:09):
for five years, hanging with arguably the best defense in
the NFL and maybe the best team in the NFL,
the Seattle Seahawks for four quarters.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well, he got some help from his defense. You know,
they played some complimentary football, as good teams tend to
do well. I don't think the Colts are good, but
you get the point there. And you know he knows football, man.
I think that if you don't believe that sacks are
a quarterback stat mat go watch Philip Rivers against the
(01:39):
Seahawks defense. Basically wasn't sacked at all. There was one
when he just felled out. Yeah, Otherwise he was getting
the ball out on time. He knew where his guys were,
and I he couldn't throw the ball very far, but
he was giving this guys a chance. He was giving
Tyler Laurren a chance, and Michael Pittman and Alex Pearce
and even Jonathan Taylor. I think he threw a goal
ball too. So I mean he was executing the quarterback
(02:00):
position the way that Shane Styke can imagines he will
when he called him off his pouch. And there's some
guys who that just doesn't go away. You know, look
at flaccoh He's gonna be able to do what Philip
Rivers did into his forties as well. It's really just
the physical part that why I was. I was so concerned,
like Philip's ability to command an offense and check and
run into checks and check the protections and all that.
(02:20):
I knew he'd be fine doing that.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well he did, And I thought, Okay, when did they
get to get to and you mentioned about that the
only the only hit him four times all game, they
already got to him.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, that was a little concerning because you knew that
was gonna be the plan. You know, I thought the
Seahawks came in there a little too focused on all
let's just run our stuff and then we'll kind of
go from there. I could have told you what the
Cults are gonna do. They're gonna hand it off a
bunch and then when it's third medium, they're gonna try
to get the ball out quick and the third long
(02:54):
inn throw screens. Like it was the most predictable game
plan that if you just played mad in a bunch
probably took a little too long to adjust. And then yeah,
again credit to Philip, you know it granted a line too,
like those guys were straining and making sure like hey,
no one touches Brampa. And they did a really really
(03:16):
good job with some backups. They lost their left tackle
in that game, the right tackle didn't play the starting
right tackle. That is, I mean, they did a good
job all things considered. I was the coach fan, I'd
be down in the dumps generally for the season, but
I'd be feeling okay after that one.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Well, I'll tell you this, man, the Seahawks might have
created a monster in Frankenstein because he's getting the start
on Monday night versus the San Francisco forty nine ers
at home.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
So how about them apples?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, you know that's interesting because I actually think the
Niners are in a good spot because they didn't have
the element of surprise is gone.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
That's right, facing young.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
With a new a new coach and a new quarterback
in week one of the regular season, like, well, what
are they going to do? This guy's never called plays
this this quarterbacks are And by week two it's like, oh,
now we got Kate. Now here's what they did in
this situation on this third down on this hash in
the red zone blah blah blah. And now they also
the Niners. No fellow camps throw the ball further than
any of us right here on the radio, right now, right,
(04:13):
That's a problem that.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I'm not really sure how, no doubt about it. I
took out of that. Like I said, I if you
went back a month, Mike Dugar from the Athletic joining
us here, Mike, I felt so good. You covered the
game in LA and yes, Sam threw four interceptions, but
that defense they held them in and you were one
(04:35):
j my sixty one yard walk off field goal away
from winning a game with your quarterback throwing four picks
in a single game. And so I came away. I
came away from this one just sort of like it
just felt icky. It felt bad to me. Clearly, I
want to get your thoughts on this. I think Mike
(04:56):
McDonald and Clint Coobiac and Adan dirt Ay and everybody
pair are these guys, but clearly they they definitely took
their foot off the gas and were looking ahead to
tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
In my opinion, Well, so I'll put it this sweat.
You know, when I was leaving the press Bots, I
was talking to some of my friends that covered the Colts,
and they joked that hey and man enjoyed the Super Bowl, right,
And I was like, I don't know, Man, Like, these
guys haven't beaten a team with a winning record since
Week seven, and they're like, right, they just beat a
team with a winning record. I was like, oh, yeah,
I guess the Colts do have one, right, And it
(05:29):
just kind of reminded me like, Oh, this is what
happens when you play teams that are competent. You know,
the Colts aren't good, but they're competent and they can
test you in ways that the Falcons just weren't able to.
The Titans just weren't able to that. The Vikings just
weren't able to that. The Commanders, you know, just weren't
able to. Saints Cardinals. Like, look at all the bad
teams that the Seahawks have beaten up on, and then
(05:52):
look what happens when they played teams with the winning record.
You get these one score wins, you know, with the
exception that I think the Steelers are team they beat
by two scores a team with a winning record, But
I don't think they took their off. The guest think
they played another competent team and we've just gotten kind
of used to over the last few months, or at
least the last month, I should say, them playing bad teams.
(06:13):
But the Colts are not a bad team, and they're
gonna give you a fight, even with Philip Rivers at
quarterback and no Sauce and no Trivarius Ward, no DeForest
Buckner and a well coached team. Right now, I think
that's what the Seahawks ran into. And right now with
the Seahawks offense is not very well coached, so they
can struggle against the bad teams like we've seen them
(06:35):
do for the past month.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Mike Tagar here, Yeah, they're not.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
And you know what too, there's an eight year history
that Philip Rivers and Shane Steikin spent together with the
Chargers when Steichen was there passing game coordinator or whatever
his position was. So there's familiarity at that point and
those guys, and you know, I mean, listen, this whole
world that we live in, I mean, you know, I mean,
(06:59):
don't even get me started. I don't want to go there, kid.
I already went on a ramp yesterday about a certain
someone on Sunday Night Football who's only there because of nepotism,
So I don't want to go there. But nonetheless there's
a familiarity, Mike. You don't want me getting started on
Jack Collinsworth. But nonetheless, here we go, Mike, which team?
(07:20):
Which team is gonna show up tomorrow night? Is it
the team that we saw go on the road to Pittsburgh,
go on the road to Jacksonville and at in at
home of Houston to fit the fact that they were
slop against Houston. Or is it the team that you
know what we saw against the Rams that turn the
(07:40):
ball over? Because I believe, Mike the whole I don't
need to you know, be Bill Parcells or Belichick, and
they're prime to figure this one out. If the Seahawks
don't turn the ball over and the defense shows up
and does their job, that's how they win this game.
If they turn the ball over, all bets are off.
So which team shows up to my Mike?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, I don't think the Seahawks are as much as
a checkle and hide operation this year. I feel like
other teams are exhibiting that a bit more strongly. Carolina
is the one that comes to mind. Tampa is another,
like Wow, which Baker Mason, we're going to get you
know which Rice Young or are we going to get?
You know which Panther's defense? Are we going to get?
(08:22):
The Seahawks actually seem to be fairly consistent. The defense is,
for sure, outside of the Bucks game, they've been the
same unit, you know, regardless of injury starter backups. That
the Bucks game is clearly the outlier on the season.
And I think the offense has been pretty consistent in
this regard the offense, the run game is just whatever,
(08:44):
you know, it's it's it's mediocre to not so great
on any given week. The passing game is reliant on
keeping Sam clean, and if he don't, he turns the
ball over, and then if he throws it, it probably
is won the Jackson. Those three things have been mostly
consistent every game, you know, to varying levels of success
depending on how they do in the red zone and
(09:05):
on third down, but those those are three constants, and
that's like, that's the team. That's what we're gonna see Thursday.
You know, they're gonna try to get the ball to Jackson.
They're hopefully gonna be able to protect Sam. They probably
won't be able to run the ball super well, and
success will be determined by what they do in the
red zone. The Seahawks has had a few games this
year where they drastically outgained the opponent like they did
(09:25):
in that Rams game, I believe, But it's the red zone.
The red zone is what matters. Are you settling for three?
Are you going there and getting touchdowns? And the Rams
have been doing that. The Rams have been putting forty
on folks like the Seahawks are getting Jason Myers all
these awards, he got NFC Special Teams Player of the Months.
(09:47):
You know, as much as I'm sure Jason Myers and
his family and his agent all love those accolades, those
don't Those don't bode well for like Sam Darnold and
Jackson Smith and Jigba and Ken and Zach like you
want to be sporing touchdown So Jami, it doesn't matter,
you know, with all due respect. So I think we
know what team are gonna get and the key I
think beyond the red zone to beating the Rams on Thursday,
(10:09):
can you get to Stafford Cause they didn't get the
Rivers as we talked about, they actually barely got the
Kirk Cousins finally no one cares for. But they got
them nice, I think, a statue kind of guy. They
they got the cam Ward a little bit, I think
like three or four times, but not not nearly as
often as cam has had been getting hit, you know,
(10:29):
going into that game. And they didn't get to Stafford
at all in the first game. So can you can
you get a real deal pass rush that affects the quarterback.
That's that's gonna be the other key On Thursday.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Mike two gar from the Athletic joining us here on
MJ in the midday. You mentioned the run game, and
the Seahawks right now are bottom five in the NFL
in rushing yards per carry. I believe a couple of
spots after them are the forty nine ers. So it's
amazing both of those teams right now double digit wins
and yet not being able to do that. Surprisingly enough, Mike,
(11:02):
in this game a month ago, they're actually able to
run the ball. They got a buck thirty five on
the ground and that's been an issue. So how much
do you put and a lot of people and I'm
looking at two when you look at the PFF grades
that I know you're not big fans of that, but
you know, like you just look at this, and I mean,
this is something that really stood out to me. Mike
(11:22):
and Hugh Millan came on yesterday and you look at
the Seahawks left tackle all the way you know to
right tackle and their grades twenty six, sixty seven, twenty
six in the center, sixty one on Bradford, and twenty
three on Lucas. Then you look at the rams starting
at left tackle eighth, fifth, ninth, second, and tenth. So
(11:46):
that's a huge part. And to me, I think, you know,
there's been a lot of you know, Kenny Walker is
getting a lot of shrap. Know that quite frankly, he
doesn't deserve because the guys up front aren't creating the
old for him to be able to do his job
to the best of his ability. Do you agree with that.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Trap? No is a great word.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Do you hear that? Kid?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
He liked it, getting a topple it from Mike Dugart
That is great shrap though exactly that is?
Speaker 2 (12:18):
That is excellent. I'm sorry, I'm going to ask your question.
I was taken aback by the vocabulary word of the day.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Yeah, it's not You're welcome, It's not just olon though
that's having a problem though I agree that they are,
you know, independent of the PFF grades that the eye tests.
I mean, I don't need any numbers really, if I
really want to assess CL's run game, let's just all
watch the game together, not even the tape, just watch
the broadcast version.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Do you feel Ken Walker's presence? Do you feel that
Sharperonnay impacting the game? Answer is no, and then go
watch the rams. Do you feel Kyrin Williams impacting the game? Yes?
Do you feel Blake Quorum impacting the game? The answer
to answer is yes. You know, you can go look
at some other teams that have two headed monster. In
that way, when you watch a Falcons game that isn't
(13:02):
against the Seahawks, you feel b Jon Robinson impacting the game.
You feel Tyler Algier impacting the game. You know, and
before Monday night you could say the same thing about
the Dolphins, like when you watch them Devon a Chank
impacts the game. I don't need any numbers. As much
as I'm a nerd, I don't need any stats to
tell me that Devon A Hang was their best their
best player on offense. Right, So the seah Options don't
(13:23):
have that going right now. Numbers aside, any grades aside,
they you just don't feel the impact. You don't feel like,
oh wow, they're really leaning on the opponent right now,
Like honestly the Colts did. Jonathan Taylor. The yards per
carrey was not great. Amera of Doula's yards per carry
wasn't great. They didn't run for a bunch of first downs.
But they were playing keep away successfully from the Seahawks.
(13:46):
They were, and that's that's what you do when your quarterbacks,
you know, old enough to get free lunch from the
senior center, right, you have to play keep away from
the Seahawks. But we haven't seen Seattle be able to
do that. I think that's the old line. I think
that's the tight ends. I think that's the receivers. I
think that's the running backs not making people miss. You know,
Zach has not been good in space this year. Ken
(14:08):
hasn't been very good in the whole this year, making
guys miss. I just think the whole operation is broken
right now. And I'm not really sure Mark what they
do about that. You don't just get I actually kulback
about the run game, he said, we got a block better.
We got to coach better. And in my head, I'm like, dude,
it is week sixteen. Magically, get better at these things,
(14:29):
you know, in mid December when you're not practicing with
pats On. I'm very concerned about the Seahawks run game.
And it's really not just the old line, it's quite
literally everybody involved.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, great point.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Really it really is how much And you know, I
don't think I'm being hyperbolic here and putting tomorrow night's game.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
They got to slay the Blue Dragon, Mike.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Matthew Stafford is undefeated as the Rams starting quarterback when
he plays against the Seahawks, and they have to be
able to kind of bring that down, have to be
able to break on through to the other side. And
here's the thing, Mike, and I look at this game
tomorrow night and and to me, first of all, it's
the NFC West Championship game. To me, if the Seahawks
(15:13):
win this game, Mike, they're they're they not only in
the driver's seed to be division champs. You're talking about
a one seed to get the only one seed by
in the playoffs. Sitting home wild card weekend and waiting
to see who comes to Seattle in the divisional playoffs.
How much is tomorrow Night's game really going to dictate
(15:36):
how far this team goes in a month?
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, I think this game is everything. I don't think
you can overstate the importance of Thursday night for Seattle's perspective.
You know, they are a good road team. They've only
lost two road games under Mike McDonald. But look at
what they were though, right if they were against good
NFC teams against the Rams this year, in the Alliance
last year. So although they've been good on the road,
(16:02):
can you go beat a good team on the road
and then can you do that like three times to
get where you want to go. It's just very hard
with this, particularly with the issues that we've mentioned with
their offense. So yeah, this game is everything. If they win,
they're in the driver's seat, like you said, But it's
still not over yet, which is fascinating. You know, me
and my colleagues at the Athletic wrote about this today.
There's a scenario mark where they Seahawks win them all
(16:25):
and then Week eighteen again for the one seed. If
the Niners went out, that would be one a winner
take the one seed game between the Seahawks and the
forty nine ers down there in Santa Clara, if both
teams went out heading into that game, like the NFC
West is real deal right now. But for the Seahawks,
I do think there is something mental about being able
(16:46):
to slay the dragon. I've seen it a few times.
The Seahawks used to be the dragon. They were the
dragon for a lot of teams in the NFC West
and the Legion in the Boom days. And if you
couldn't get by the Seahawks and te Carroll, your coach
probably got fired. If you could, Pete then got fired.
So this game is everything. I don't care if anyone
says it's just the next game or whatever on the schedule,
all that cliche nonsense. No, no, no, this is a
(17:07):
hashtag big game and we'll really learn a lot about
whether the Seahawks are going to be a team to
be recking with in January depending on how they play
Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
It truly is everything, and it couldn't have set up
any better. I'm sure the executive network executives at Prime
are are loving it. They got the the Emirates Cup
last night. Nice game between the Knicks and Spurs, and
Adam Silver gave a huge endorsement to their broadcast. And
it is Taylor Rooks. Who else is There's Taylor Rooks.
(17:37):
Taylor Rooks.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
I don't really notice anybody as long as I see
her on the on the air.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
There's a million people on that, no, I know, I.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Know, yeah, yeah, right now, Jerkdovichki you Donnis Haslom, I
got it.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
And Taylor Rooks and Taylor Rooks and Taylor Rooks. Yes.
So then and then tomorrow night you got the game
of the year. I mean, this is it. There will
not be a bigger ring.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
You know what we thought, you know, your week one, Mike,
we had Sunday Night football and that back and forth
shootout between Lamar Jackson, two time MVP and the reigning
MVP winner Josh Allen and the Bills and the Bills
pulling it out. Well, right now, you know, Lamar Jackson,
if he doesn't take care of business the rest of
the way, including Sunday against the Patriots, that they could
be on the outside looking in, like Patrick Mahomes and
(18:21):
the Chiefs. But tomorrow night, I mean eleven and three,
eleven and three, it is monumental, and I mean for
Sam Darnald. I saw statistic. I gotta find it, Mike.
He was part of a huge regular season game last
year against Detroit to end the year for the NFC
North Division. They lost, and here he is a year
later in that spot and hopefully that that Donald better
(18:46):
not show up tomorrow night, because if he does, then
Seattle's really in trouble.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Well, I think that how you avoid that Donald showing
up is you build the same around him. That's really
what you need, man. Donald is not one of these.
I mean, it's just why Tua got benched. You know,
Tua at one point was like a Pro Bowl guy,
led the league of passing yards, like his offense score
seventy in a game. But then, like the he needs
(19:14):
this particular set of circumstances around him, a certain type
of run game, certain weapons, you know, a certain type
of play calling, and if that interiorates, he's damn they're unplayable.
And Sam's in that same boat. If he doesn't have
a certain set of circumstances around him, he will look unplayable.
It looks unplayable in that game you just reference. He
looked unplayable for largely parts of that week. Eleven game
(19:36):
against the Rams. So I mean there's a lot on
the line. I think for maybe not him personally, you know,
as he would view himself, but I think his perception,
you know, legacy is too strong, but just perception. What's
the other word. Your reputation? I guess as good as
you with the vote Captain No, No Donald, Sam donald
(19:58):
S trapnel Yeah, Sam Donald's. His reputation is can go
one It's gonna go one way or the other in
a huge swing on Thursday night because he just had
to show up, man, show up. And but then everybody
else around him needs to support too. Can we get
a hunter of yard game? Mark? Can you remember last
time running for hundred yards? You remember?
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Was it against Pittsburgh?
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Against Pittsburgh and week two?
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Man, yes, I remember that. Yeah, it geinst week two.
That that's so that was the lot. That's incredible. That's
and by the way, not incredible in a good way. Uh, Mike,
there's no doubt about it. And and this is the
thing about Sam Donald and I, you know, we've all
kid and I have talked about it. I asked the
great Charles Davis, who did the game on Sunday for CBS,
(20:40):
and he said this a week ago. I'm like, what
is your trust level of Sam Donald to win big
playoff games in January? And he's like five, And everybody
seems to be saying the same thing. And I can't
argue and I won't argue it. I feel until you
do it, and it's like chill, you do it, and
people can say all the negative things they want, because
(21:03):
you know, the Eagles this year with Jalen Hurts and
their new OC Kevin Patoulo, they haven't been able to
get things going. Jalen Hurts won the Super Bowl last year,
he was Super MVP, So you don't win any bigger
games than that until Sam Darnold can can go from
small games Sam to big game Sam. I hope then
on Friday, I'm either gonna be saying same old Sam
(21:25):
or big game Sam. And that's what we'll see.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Mike. Always love talking to you. I'll see you tomorrow night.
Can't wait.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
This is this is Tyson Holyfield, literally in the prime
of their careers.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Tomorrow night. I cannot wait.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
I appreciate that, hadding me. I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Either, all right, Mike, Mike to Gar from the Athletic
check Out his work and always his podcast with Christopher
Kids Seahawks Man a man, we got to what do
you say?
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Texting?
Speaker 2 (21:49):
The day?
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Brought to you by bores Head four nine four five
one boy Seattle. Can't wait for tomorrow night, MJ in
the midday, don't go anywhere or the game by Motorhead.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
And there you go.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
That's that, by the way, that would be sick tomorrow
night too if they came out, because it's literally time
to play the game. Oh if you could have seen it.
Nobody has footage of it, nobody can prove it. But
I just I got water. I didn't want to spit
mountain dew or coke all over the uh you know.
But I did the water and I wiped it all up.
So there's you know, you know so. But yeah, you
(22:25):
didn't expect that, kid, did you.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I did not. Wow, you caught me for a loop there.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Man is six foot five. You know.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
We have these lights that are there. They were structurally
strange and he had to like avoid the lights and
he's just trying to do it and then he opened
his arms and let it rip.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yeah, and I was I recorded it. It would have been cool.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
But nonetheless, yeah, I got to see something that no
one else will get to see.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
No, no, no, let's hope nobody gets to see it.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
You know.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah, that was uh thanks to the Thanks to the.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
To tip on the text line someone saying, hey, you
guys should do that, and Mad MJ.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Thanks for having Mike Dugar on today.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Q the delusional Seahawks fans who think the Hawks should
win every game by ten or more. I just don't
see them winning tomorrow's game. Well hope, hope that's wrong.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Hey NBA, where have I heard this song before?
Speaker 3 (23:26):
I know, man, I know, what are you gonna do?
I think though this feels different. It feels different now.
I know for everybody around here you're like, yeah, whatever, dude, whatever,
but it feels different to me on on that front.
More or less, this to me is a great text.
(23:47):
I'm gonna share this with Softy. I told him there's
a text about him. On the on the line, Softie
was speaking of generations since the Sonics left.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
How true.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
My youngest daughter was born in two thousand and seven
and she now has become.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
A mother this year.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Can't wait to take these two generations to their first
Sonics game. Oh my god, that actually warms my heart.
And you know, despite a lot of you think that
I don't have a heart, I do have one and
that makes me feel good. And I only hope it
could be in October twenty twenty seven and not twenty
twenty eight. I really hope you don't have to wait
(24:26):
another three years. It's just you know, if do you
want to get the franchise done, you can get this done.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
And listen, Vegas.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Can play at Tea Mobile Arena for a year or two,
so they're not gonna hold up anything. They can build
their new arena like the A's did and the Raiders did.
They can build their new arena. In the meantime, play
a team mobile, play at UNLV. I mean, do something.
But you know, what do you got next?
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Kid?
Speaker 4 (24:53):
Last one from me?
Speaker 5 (24:55):
What is your expectations for the NBA addressing the expansion
subject twenty twenty six? Mine is if they aren't announcing
expansion to Seattle within two years, don't waste my time.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
I will heartily agree. I can't add anything to that
text one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
I co signed.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
One more thing. The best thing you just said is
the Chiefs are on the outside looking in. They're not
even looking in. They're just on the outside and that's fabulous.
I know, I know, it's crazy though, right. I thought
they would have a down year this year, but I
didn't think it would be this bad. And when Mahomes
(25:36):
got hurt on Sunday against the Chargers, it was just like, Wow,
what song is that? That is the game by Motorhead.
Time to play the game, Dunnan, dunn it. Don't you
jump up and do the triple h water spit after
knocking Boots? I thought everyone does. No, I don't. Maybe
(25:59):
I should. That would probably make her leave. Though, Let's
see here, what else do we got? Some people not
happy with the Kraken And I get it. Hey, I
get to a point if you get to a point
in the season and it's time to cancel Christmas, and
(26:20):
Christmas is coming up next week.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
If you get to.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
That point and you want it gets to a point
where your time to cancel Christmas in January, I mean
you gotta get You've got a stockpile until you get
your Nathan McKinnon or Macklin Celebrini has to happen before
I forget.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Thanks to.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Joe Varden from The Athletic Softy Mike Betton and Mike
du Guard today, four of them.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
That was a big day. We usually don't have more
than two. Four today.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
And George Siddano from ESPN LA and ESPN he's become
a big star.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
I've known him twenty one years since.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
We're both down in Miami together and he will join
us tomorrow at eleven and we'll be live at Jimmy's
on First Tomorrow. So if you're gonna be in the area,
stop on buy for the game tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Kid.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
We'll be coming back tomorrow, I mean tomorrow. One of
our rejoins from commercials with that music. I can't believe
I didn't think about that is the.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
That is awesome.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
If they came out to that tomorrow night, that would
be as cool, if not better than Degeneration X.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
It would be amazing.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
All right, all right, we'll come back on the other side, kid,
and I will wrap it up. Greg Bell in for
the Mayor Ian Fernest today. He's got a great show
in store as well. He's got today coming up. Stuart
Mandel covers college football SI and the future Hall of
Fame football coach Mike Holmgren coming up at two. Right here,
(27:55):
we'll close it out. Can I on a Wednesday next?
(28:19):
Thank you very much to Taco Time and Softy for
furnishing lunch today.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
It is wonderful.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Got in my hardshelled taco sour cream, tomato hot sauce.
A little messy, but I won't make a mess in
the studio. And thanks again is Joe Varden from The Athletic.
Thank you very much Joe for coming on after breaking
that story last night about the Sonics. Oh excuse me,
(28:50):
Seattle in Las Vegas possibly being the next two cities
that the NBA will be announcing next year.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
And I get it.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
I see on the text line NBA can kiss my
ass coming from a SuperSonics fan. They robbed us. I
attended to parade in seventy nine. The game I grew
up loving and admiring so much is not the game.
And those candy asses play right now.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
I get it. Make maybe from Keith. Keith always has
great text. Maybe he shoot a blue shoo care package
to the Hawks before the big game tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Make sure they are up for it. You know, yeah,
yeah we could do that. We could do that. There's
no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
So God I wish we did Taco time lunches more often,
I really do. So this was good, good show today.
Tomorrow will be live at Jimmy's on first Tomorrow and
come on over and stop by from my show all
the way to Softy and Dick at the end at
seven o'clock. So actually kickoff tomorrow night at five point fifteen.
(30:02):
So it's right, I forgotten this West Coast thing. So
we're looking forward that great job kid today. Kid, does
it make you feel any better from what that article
came out?
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (30:12):
I would say, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hope hopeful at
least right just because we've been told a bunch of things.
But it sounds as if in twenty twenty six we'll
have an announcement to win. It could be All Star Weekend,
it could be in the summer during Summer League. But
my hope is is before the start of the twenty
twenty sixth season. Oh I I oh, I think it'll
(30:34):
be All Star Weekend. I think All Star Weekend will
know something.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
And again, don't hold our breath, but I mean, Jesus
has been seventeen and a half fricking years, so anyway,
we appreciate coming out to Jimmy's on first Tomorrow and
we will get into the biggest game of the twenty
twenty five regular season, Seahawks Rams tomorrow night. I will
be there, kid, and I will see you tomorrow, same
(30:59):
that time, same t BAT channel. Stay tuned Greg bell
In for Ian for Ness, Stuart Mandel and the future
Hall of Fame head coach Mike Holmgren coming up with
Greg bell In for Ian next on KJR Sports Radio
ninety three to three FM.
