Speaker 1 (00:00):
So far here as we are watching the second round
of the Master is taking place right now on these
large I mean, the view we have right now, it's
almost like we've died and gone to sports gambling heaven.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I kind of thought I died last night.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Oh yeah I get here.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, just yeah, you finally, you finally we got here.
We got here this morning, because that's what you gotta do.
You gotta power down, power up, power down, power up.
And that's what we did. We went to a great
place last night called four Kegs Sports Pub, which has
been in It's a Vegas old style. Yeah, yeah, it

(00:42):
is a legacy. It definitely is a legacy. So you
just listen. I like, they had this this thing called Stromboli,
and like it's everybody out there knowes what Stromboli is,
but I haven't had it in forever.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
And the last time I had it was a year ago.
It was a year ago.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
And here at four k Sports Pub and you and
your husband, Mike came over last night and we just
enjoyed everything, and you guys, you had a great time.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
And it's just this old school place.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Other than getting the promotional cores, light and things that
they get from you know, oh, you know the raiders
like that that Coors Light or whatever brand of beer
sends them that has the neon display. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
you know, like other than that, like like it's just
like that. To me, it just hasn't changed. And there

(01:38):
and we had they had these diehard locals last night
rooting on the Vegas Golden Knights against our Seattle packs,
I know, and it was just it's just like, oh
my god, it's unbelievable, like unbelievable, man. And so we
had a great time last night and it was fun,
and we had a great time yesterday just being here

(02:00):
just everything. It's almost like I said, I got to
pinch myself and realize that that we are here, and
it's like, you know, I mean, it's just it's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, I mean, I probably have to post another picture,
even though I've been extraordinance on that. But I would
say that, uh, Circa has been one of the best
places that I've done a remote show, like remotely broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
It's amazing. Absolutely, I would say it is my best
place I've ever done a remote show, no doubt about that.
And we digs to Aaron Oaster and that sports marketing
manager here. We're gonna have on the VP of operations,
Mike Palm's gonna come up.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
We're gonna talk more.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
About, you know what live bets and things that you
can get with the Masters. Right now, my pick on
Colin Morrikawa is not looking so great right now.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
But I want to get back to last night.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Just because you like, I got to see a different
side of Jess last night.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
You certainly you saw Jamison.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Okay, Yeah, James Sugges. You threw some back last night.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I did because I could.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, you did.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And by the way, we took ubers. We didn't get behind. Yeah,
we're all you know, And I didn't.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I didn't drink, so I I you know, I couldn't.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I could drink. I could have drove, but uh but yeah,
you know, it was just fun. Everything is just you know,
it's so fun, man, it really is. And I just
love being here and in dissed the place and everything.
There's just this whole abbiance. And I was here last
year for the first two weekends or the first weekend
of March Madness, not the first two weekends, but oh boy, man,

(03:36):
I was here for like five days. That was listen,
I love Vegas. You're sort of like a little long.
It was a lot that was that was where you
you're like your battery power if you were a phone,
your battery powers on red really low. Yeah, you know
you really like I think that's analogy, you know. Yeah, so,

(04:00):
but but it was great, and you know, listen, I
try to when I'm outside of Seattle, I want to enjoy.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Things that I can't get in Seattle.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
So last weekend at the Final four in San Antonio,
I I.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Mopped up on barbecue.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Oh like, I went to Oh that's right, yeah, I
mean you have to two m which was the mayor
of San Antonio. He said you gotta go there, And
then I went to this other place called I think
it was called Smokehouse. Unbelievable, like this week so far.
The other night I hit in and out and then
last night four cakes. And by the way, I'm gonna

(04:38):
throw this pole up there on my Twitter here in
a little bit Seattle people, and I've gotta just I
love the fact that you're loyal. You're loyal to places
are Seattle. But I remember putting up a pole here
my first or second week on the air about who
would you ether have Geno Smith or Sam Donald? And

(05:01):
I think most of you voted Gino Smith. Well, I
said Sam Donald, and I said, at the price that
John Schneider got him. That to me is the key.
The money is always everything. The money is yeah, they
the money is everything. And when you get a quarterback

(05:22):
who's seven years younger for twelve and a half million
dollars less guaranteed than a guy who's missed the playoffs
the last two years, who's I mean, he's a he's
a good quarterback. I called him a Northstone rac quarterback
when I went on the air. I stand by that today.
I think, you know, yeah, the guy, the guy who

(05:43):
joined us yesterday from the Denver station, Mike Sanford, coach,
he even said that, he said that he thinks the
Raiders are gonna take a quarterback at six, the team
who's down the street here in Henderson, they're gonna take
a quarterback at six and to hedge their bet on
Gino Smith. I don't think they you that, I really don't.
I think the Raiders are. They're in with Gino for

(06:04):
the next couple of years. I don't think they do that,
but I think they might. They might look at a
Tyler Shuck or somebody later on in the draft in
this in the late second, early third round.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I can see that.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I can see that, but man, I like, for me,
this is just uh and the weather here is beautiful.
We know around we know now around afternoon that the
sun will come in on us, but we're out.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yesterday.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah it is, so it will get.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
A little warm here.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
And I'm gonna a long sleeve, zip up light hoodie,
but nonetheless of hoodies, so I'll you know, probably uh,
you know, be changing that pretty soon. But it's just
fun being out there. And and listen, they get a
lot of visitors from Seattle and PNW, Washington.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
State a lot.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
And if you're out here, you know, you've got to
come out and you've got to check out their contests.
And this is a place that I mean, if you're
going to enter a contest, then you've got to do
it the right way. They have the circa millions contests.
They have a survivor pool contest that give away fourteen

(07:13):
point eight million dollars, So you don't have to be
first place.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
You have many chances to win.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
So if you're out here and you're down in Vegas
come over to the Circa and enter this because they
say they're getting a lot of people from PNW and
Washington State.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Oh yeah, I met several. We met one of the
gentlemen that actually works here told us that he was
a Washington State I'm talking Pullman, Washington State graduate. So
we've got some alums around here. But I always whenever
I'm around the desert, whether it be Arizona or Vegas,

(07:49):
I always end up meeting people who are from Washington
and there are a last here. I see Seahawks stuff
and I have my like simply Seattle stuff on all
the time.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yeah, and I forget that I have it on.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And they'll just be like, hey, hey, hey, like you know,
they do this Seahawks chant and everything.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
It's yeah, it's fun, all right.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
The Circus Survivor and Circa Million are the biggest legal
by the way, that's the operative word here legal football
contest in the world. Circus Survivor is your classic survivor pool,
but with a thousand dollars buy in and all the
money goes to the prize pool. Last year, eight people
split fourteen point two million dollars. Eight people fourteen point

(08:32):
two million dollars. That's a nice chunk of change there.
CIRCA million is pick five games against the spread. The
winner gets one million dollars payout to the top one
hundred finishers.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
So there's that. But which is great?

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (08:48):
So far not looking good?

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Oh and I'm also really mad at myself because the pick, Well,
I gave out a pick yesterday. Let's let's go Christopher
kids to the pick that I gave out yesterday to
the fans for the gambling segment. This is the one
I was vacillating back and forth. But I will take
the over on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Memphis Grizzlies six

(09:11):
thirty Star time in Seattle. Take the over two thirty
one and a half on the t Wolves and Grizzlies. Okay,
the final score of that game last night five It
went to two hundred and sixty six points. So you're
so again, I'm here to win your money, Seattle. Here's
and you're welcome. You're you're welcome on that. I hope

(09:32):
you're listening to these picks. Here's why I'm mad today.
I didn't follow through. I didn't place the bet.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
No, you gave the advice.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
I gave the advice, didn't, So please tell me that
somebody out there that wanted, like somebody out there that
you at least took the advice and you were able
to profit. You'll make me feel better because I didn't
do it. Text in yes, text in four nine four
five one. We got the voice text there of the
new and improve I radio app. Go look for ninety
three to three KGr leave it the microphone icon button.

(10:04):
Please tell me that you you profited off that pick yesterday.
I'll have another one coming up at eleven forty four.
Uh So, we we've got a We've got a loaded show,
and I'm looking forward to having Mike Palm, the vice
president of the Circa, on with us, and the president
and CEO of the Circa, Derek Stevens, will join us
as well.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
So it's like, oh, UF season town tomorrow night they
have a major game.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah yeah, I mean so there's you know what, That's
the one thing I will say about Vegas where it
does it does remind me a lot about Miami. There's
always something going on. Always there's an event. They got
something going on at all times. And it's and imagine
you got two pro sports teams here right now. The

(10:49):
A's are on the way, they'll be here in a
couple of years. There's gonna be an NBA team as
soon as Adam Silver and his staff get their act
together and they start to announce that there's gonna be
a team here and more importantly a team backward. It
should be where rightfully belongs in Seattle. I e. The
Green and Gold, the Sonics. So you know, master's leerboard

(11:10):
right now, justin Road Justin Rose Leeds followed by Bryson
Deshambeau will keep you updated on that. Why didn't I
put my money on Justin Rose? Colin Morikawa should have
listened to the mayor of Maple Valley in Ferness. He
told me, he said, he said, stay away from him.
He's he went off and said, oh the media is
too tough on him or whatever, stay away and and yeah,

(11:32):
I should have listened there. So that that was not good.
But Justin Rose is in it. The one thing I
did hedge on, the one person I did is Scottie Scheffler.
So he is in it. He's the reigning champion, He's
he's in the hunt.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Listen, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
We got the second round today, moving day tomorrow as
they call it on.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Saturday cut days today.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
So it looks like Rory McElroy, who's hanging in there
right now, it looks like he's on the vert.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Looks like he will make the cut.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I don't even know if the guy who I placed
the most money on, Colin Morikawa, will even make.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
The cutw does it suck to like hear hanging in
there when it comes to Rory, because like he's my like,
he's my favorite.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Rory and.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
In a decade, I know, but he's a baby, I
mean in my mind because I'm old, but I know,
I just I'm a really really big fan of him.
I think he has handled himself so well and obviously
is an extremely good golfer. But do you think that
he's on the decline.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Yes, well I think he's been on the decline. But
like you just said, well you just said.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Everybody has this affinity for him and they love him.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
He's won for majors.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
But yes, one one since President Obama was in like
his last year's president or his second last year president
twenty fourteen, that's a long time ago. Anthony Edwards was
like what was he like thirteen years old back then.
I mean literally, it's like, dude, you gotta get going here.
I mean, and it's you know, everybody loves Rory. Everybody
loves Rory, and because he's awesome. Yeah, well he hasn't

(13:11):
been awesome in a long time. But I'm waiting for
him to do this and do this on the Listen
to me, it's all fine and dandy to win the
you know, DRABBRONI open win majors and I'll and I'll
talk more. The majors are what counts the most, and
he hasn't won one in twenty since twenty fourteen. I

(13:31):
even when we talked to Aaron Oser from the sports
market manager from Circa yesterday, I said, I would fade Rory.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
K Makuro goes you ten, but you gotta put up
twelve hundred.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
And I'm like, oh no, not not not like put
twelve hundred to win one hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
No, that's not valuable. That's how, that's how, that's how. Casinos.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yes, listen, all this whole beautiful thing, this stadium, swim
and everything. Let me tell you something, this wasn't built
with casino money. This is built with public money because
the public loses, and they lose on parlays and they
lose on teasers when it comes to football season. This
built stadium, swim, this builds all of this stuff. So
that's what Vegas. It's built, always built with public money.

(14:10):
But remember that the public subsidizes every single casino reservation
renovation that is ever ever done in any casino, any
casino out there, and it's all with public money.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
So we've got that.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
But it's just a beautiful day out there, and uh yeah,
it's it's gonna be a hot one today. So we're
looking forward to it. And I'm just looking forward to
a great sports weekend. You got the Masters, got UFC
the Mariners tonight and all right, it's not I won't
say crucial on April eleventh, but it's it's a series,
you know, after winning their first series this season. You

(14:48):
welcome in the Rangers who are coming in. They look
like they've turned the corner so far this year. Jacob
de Gram on the mound, are very very familiar with Hey,
if you want to get chills, if you want to
get chills on something YouTube, Jacob de Gram. Leonard skinnerd

(15:09):
when he made his return to the Mets after a
long injury. He came out pitching at City Field to
simple Man by Leonard Skinnerd and it is goosebumps. And
on the broadcast the best broadcast team in the history
of team sports, Gary Cohen, Keith hernandez Ron Darling. No
Oss accents on that broadcast. Hey, no, I do too.

(15:34):
I do not like Oss accents on a Major League
Baseball broadcast on television. That's a whole another story. But
if you YouTube Jacob de Gram Leonard Skinnard, it is
one of the most chilling things when he's pitching and
fifty two thousand people are singing simple Man to Leonard Skinnerd.
So it is just unbelievable. I absolutely love it. We

(16:00):
have a lot to get to so, like I said, oh,
we're gonna break down. We have an NFL Draft analyst
coming up as well, which I'm excited. Listen, it's draft
time and this is a time where we've got to
you know, we are in draft mode, right, I mean,
this is this is basically his name is Jos.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
NFL is a year round sport. We don't we look
behind at the end of the season, regardless of where
it ends, and then if it's a good end of
the season, we celebrate, and then we look ahead and
ahead and ahead.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
What's the future?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
What's the future? They are really kind of brilliant with
dragging us in. It's a weird addiction.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Do you know what?

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I love what the NFL done? What the ultimate flex
on the NBA on Christmas Day?

Speaker 1 (16:52):
So so first they did it on the weekend, and
then it's like, it's like, what we're gonna do is this.
We're gonna put our balls on the table and the
NBA you're gonna sit back and you're gonna wear the
alpha where the alpha you're a beta. And I know
you used to own Christmas Day with your Quinn tuppleheader,

(17:13):
but guess what we now own Christmas Day. We're gonna
have a double header on Netflix, and then we're gonna
do a nightcap on Amazon Prime. And guess what you're
gonna do. You're gonna get no ratings on that day
you used to own Christmas Day. But kind of like
Michael Corleone when he settled all family business at the
end of the Godfather, He's like, that's what the NFL.
The NFL now owns Christmas Day. Hey, here's the news flash.

(17:37):
The NFL owns if everything every day, they own everything.
If the NFL wanted to do a supplemental draft on
the night of Game seven of the NBA Finals, who
do you think would have better ratings? They would. That's
just what they do.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
I mean, they figured it out, they got it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
So it almost feels like they, uh give other sports
a gimme here and there where They're like, god, we'll
just not do anything today. Yeah, and then their Friday
news dumps just just story me. Oh, it's it is like,
this is stuff we don't want anyone to know. Yeah,
because it'll be dead by Monday.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Yes, it will be all right. We will be back
on the other side. Hello Seattle, Live from Vegas at
the Circus Sports Book Mark James mj in the midday
Big Show coming up, Do Not Go Anywhere on Sports
Radio ninety three to three KJRFM.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Before I ever ran a casino and got myself blown up,
Ace Rothstein was a hell of a handicapper. I can
tell you that. I was so good that whenever I bet,
I could change the odds for every book maker in
the country. I'm serious, I had it down so cold
that I was given paradise on Earth. I was given
one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas to run.

(18:56):
At that time, Vegas was a place where millions of
suckers flew in every year.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
On their own.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Nikola left behind about a billion dollars. But at night
you couldn't see the desert that surrounds Las Vegas. But
it's in the desert where lots of the town's problems
are solved.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot
of problems are buried in those holes. Except you got
to do it right. I mean, you got to have
the hole already dug before you show up with a
package in the truck.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
And along with making us legit comes cash, tons of it.
I mean, what do you think we're doing out here
in the middle of the desert. It's all this money.
This is the end result of all the bright lights
and the camp trips, of all the champagne and free
hotel suites, and all the broads and all the booze.

(19:51):
It's all been arranged just for us to get your money.
That's the truth about Las Vegas. We're the only winners.
The players don't stand a chance, and that cash flows
from the tables to our boxes, through the cage and
into the most sacred room in the casino, the place

(20:13):
where they add up all the money, the holy of holies,
the count Room.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Ah.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Yes, from the movie Casino Live on MJ in the
midday Stadium swim at the Circus sports Book. What a
classic scene there. So I put up a poll on Twitter.
Please feel free to go there. Mark James, m R.
C James. You can check it out the ninety three
to three KJR account. What's a better burger place? I
threw it out there, In and Out Burger, Dix, McDonald's,

(20:43):
or I gave you a fourth choice, something else. Now
you know where I stand. Dix Burger's is great, and
I will you know Dix is phenomenal. Okay, I've only
been in Seattle for two months. I've taken a liking
to it. Get in the Deluxe. It's not better than
in and Out, It's just not. I scarf down two

(21:04):
double doubles the other night.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Two double doubles. That's two double cheeseburgers, two.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Of them animal style extra spread. Their fries are phenomenal.
Guess what they are? They slice them fresh from the potatoes.
They are fresh, they are hot, They're amazing. So for me,
as much as I do love the Seattle staple, which
is Dix, I'm in and out guy, and I want

(21:31):
to bring in and Out Burger to the PNW. So,
and I'm not joking on this. I'm gonna look into
this so maybe I can get some silent partners out there.
Maybe we can go in this together, not only because
I'm telling you In and Out Burger is absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Christopher Kidd, have you had in an out Burger?

Speaker 5 (21:55):
I don't recall. I don't think I was that impressed, though.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Well, if you don't recall, then I don't think you
had it. Do you like Dix Burgers? Do you like Dix? Okay,
but you're not in love with it.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
I'm a fry guy, okay, So.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
So yeah, I mean, but their fries there, and you
know I was talking Ian about it yesterday's.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
McDonald's is my go to for fresh and.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
By the way, I don't hate that either.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
If I needed a quick burger, i'd probably I might
just go McDonald's. I don't know. McDonald's just does it
for me.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
I will take Dix over McDonald's in terms of the burger.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Although every now and then that Big Mac is tough
to beat.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
However, in terms of the total package, all encompassing, I
am going with in and out burger.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
They are numero uno.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
I might even take an uber back over to Sahara
Avenue tonight and get me two more double doubles. You
will for to do that, so yeah, I probably will
do that. Coming up next and hitting to all Fields.
You've never seen an MLB event turned up like this,
and a long standing feud is coming to it and

(23:09):
it should make everybody feel good. And it's about damn time.
Hitting the all Fields next live on MJ in the
midday from Stadium Swim at the Circus Sports Book in
Las Vegas on Seattle Sports Leader ninety three to three
kJ R FM. All right back on MJ the Midday

(23:29):
live from Las Vegas Stadium Swim at the world's largest
sportsbook here at Circa we are, but yeah, it's it's
absolutely huge. Hitting all Fields finally, a long time bitter
rivalry looks like it's finally come to an end. And
I don't know what took so long for a lot,
And I gotta tell you I don't Shaq can be

(23:52):
a bully. I love Shack and I love him on
and inside the NBA on TNT, but Shack can can
really be a bully?

Speaker 3 (23:59):
We saw, you know.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
I mean, I think shackedon a Fool is a hilarious
segment where he clowns dudes like Javelle McGee. But he
can be a bully. And he was a bully to
Dwight Howard for Dwight Howard's entire career because Dwight Howard
came in, he was drafted twelve years after Shaq was
the number one overall pick coming out LSU in nineteen
ninety two. Dwight Howard came out of I believe Southwest

(24:23):
Atlanta Christian Academy straight out of high school. He had braces.
He was such a young, skinny Kennedy morphed into this
herculean like Greek god. I mean, if you ever, if
there's any guy that you ever wanted to trade upper
bodies with or bodies with, period, it would be Dwight Howard.
Like Dwight Howard still to this day, dudes got like

(24:45):
less than one point three percent body fat. He is
chiseled like granted well Shack has always been hard on
Dwight his entire career, and well, let's just say that
it's all coming to an end.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Here we go.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Smith Hall of Fame Class of twenty twenty five was
just announced. Okay, go ahead, Carmelo Anthony, shout out to
my Syracuse brethren, superb Billy Donovan, to all the Florida,
Sylvia Fowls LSU.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Yes, I am more. The two thousand and eight.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
USA Men's Basketball Olympic team aka the Redeemed Team, and
Dwight Howard officially made it.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
To the Hall of Fame. That's awesome.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
He also tweeted out, I want Kevin Garnett, Kareem Abdul
Jabbar and Shaq to walk me out.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
That's awesome. I'll do it.

Speaker 6 (25:35):
What would you like to say to him?

Speaker 1 (25:36):
I'll do it. I'll be there really of course. That's
my guy.

Speaker 6 (25:40):
Congratulations Dwight on an incredible achievement. Congratulations to you as well, Shad.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
All right, well that was cool. They brought all those
guys to the final four last week, and they brought
him out during the games, and Carmelo was there, Sylvia
Fowls was there, and Dwight Howard was there.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Dwight Howard again.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Still I met him when I covered the Magic when
they made a run to the finals and nine and uh,
the thing that I remember the most about that series.
First of all, they were a massive underdog in the
Eastern Conference Finals against Lebron James. Lebron James and Cleveland
Cavaliers that year I think won like sixty five or
sixty six games.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
And the nation was rooting for the Cavs, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
And I watched Dwhite Howard, Hido, Turklu Rapah Auston, Jamiir Nelson,
j J Reddick was on that team and they took
down Cleveland in six and it was like wow. And
I remember going in that series and even back then
on first take and with Skip Bayless, he was the

(26:39):
main guy, not Stephen A. Smith, it was Skip Bayless
just show. Back then, hey, they said who would you
rather start an NBA team with Dwight Howard or Lebron James,
And people back then were saying Dwight Howard. Now, he
never achieved a level after that run against the Lakers,
And I will never forget after it was the start
of Game four, it was two three, and I remember

(27:01):
Tiger Woods and Ewan Nordigrin were sitting in front of me.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
So this was way, this was you're dating yourself.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
No, no, but this was five months before she took
a nine iron to his Cadillac. Well whatever, before the
whole thing went down and the world found out that
Tiger was what is exactly the husband of the year,
but no whatever, regardless, But and that whole time, it
was it was like he could never quite get back

(27:30):
to that level. But Dwight Howard was him for a while,
and Shaq bullied him for most of his career. And
and I thought, Dwight Howard, who stuck up for himself,
And I thought for Dwight Howard to want Shackton to
walk him out with Kevin Garnett and Kreem Abdul Jabbar.
I said, you know what, that's a that's an unbelievable
gesture by Dwight Howard because she was the one who

(27:53):
looks like the bigger person, the better person, not Shaq.
Shack's been bitter and he's been a bully. And to
Dwight how a lot of people, I love Shack but
at times he can be a bully.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I think that that is an ultimate sign of respect
from both sides. Yes that Dwight Howard said, yep, I
want him to walk me out, and Shacka said, yep,
I'll do it like that.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
That is respect.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
You know what this reminds me of, you know, our
our late friends John Clayton, when he got inducted into
he won the.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Award for Fame.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
No, and he wasn't he was a Seattle Sports award.
It was actually, uh yeah, like the most prestigious award.
I'm sorry it's escaping me because it's named Afterwashington. Yeah,
but go ahead because sorry he uh he asked Richard
Sherman too, and and Sherman flew out. He was no

(28:48):
longer with the Seahawks. He was in San Francisco at
the time, and Sherman flew out to introduce him. That's
awesome for that award, and uh it was. It was
just this reminds me of that where.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
We listen at the end of the day here and
I know shaq'son Entertainer Listen, Shaq is people don't realize it.
Two things about guys that people look at and they
have this perception of Shaq and Gronk. You have no idea.
How freaking smart and a shrewd of a businessman Shaquille
O'Neal is. And I'll tell you right now. I found

(29:22):
this out. When you see Shaq doing commercials for and
there's a plethora of them. He gets four paychecks, one
for talent fee. He owns the production company that does
the commercials. He gets a sag fee.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
He is.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Shaq is playing chess while everybody else is playing checkers.
I love Shack. I love him on Inside the NBA
on TNT, but he can be a bully at times.
I still love him. Christopher Kidd, this is what baseball?
Oh you sure we'll get. We'll get to it coming up. Yeah,
we'll get we'll get.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
That's because Jess was going on about John Clayton.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
You know I can't Keith Jackson. I don't know why
a right that award is mind.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
All right, we'll get. We'll get to that coming up, kid,
I want to get that in and we will talk
NFL Draft next live on MJ and the Midday from
Las Vegas at the Stadium Swim Sportsbook at Circa on
