Speaker 1 (00:01):
I do. I remember it very well.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I remember after that loss and extra innings to the
Houston Astros, and I just went on an absolute total
rant at Jimmy's on First, which, by the way, I
will be there tomorrow for the show between ten and one,
so come on out and say hello. Then looking forward,

(00:25):
always loving to be out at Jimmy's on First getting
some of their great food, their smash burger, their chicken
cob salad. Can already taste it in my mouth right now,
so can't wait to be out there tomorrow. But I remember,
I remember that team, and yet here we are first
place by a game. I know, it's only twenty eight

(00:46):
games in the season. We get that there's still many
more to go, right, I mean, we've got it's it's
we got a long way to go, and understand it
t one hundred and thirty four games left. But something
changed then, some did change in that team after that game,

(01:09):
losing in extra innings to the Astros, then going on
to win that series, and then going on to win
the next five series. They've won six straight series. And
I mentioned there in headlines in case you missed it,
The Man of the Hour, the Tower of Power, too

(01:32):
sweet to be sour. Jorge Polanco, the Mariners MVP MVP.
He has been unreal all season long, slashing three seventy seven,
four oh five, seven thirty nine. He would be leading

(01:53):
MLB and slugging percentage if he had enough played appearances.
Remember chuxtapos those slashes to last year two thirteen, two
ninety six, three point fifty five all career lows. I'm
glad of everybody that has returned from last season. It's

(02:16):
or Hey Polonco, because he said, you know what, this lineup,
somebody's got to step up. Somebody has to do their job.
Obviously we've seen so far in the season Julio Rodriguez
on brand in April. Right, we've seen this time and
time again, six forty two ops career in April.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Not that much better so far six seven to four.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
But it's been all about j P, not Crawford or
Hey Polonco. I don't know what got into this guy.
He's been carrying this team and he is finally turn
things around after last year's pathetic season, unlike some other people.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Julio, No, he's turning around.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And Dylan Moore last week American League Player of the week,
step it up. Ben Williamson got the call up. Look
at what he's doing so far. He's ops seven eighty
four right now.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
So I didn't expect it to happen.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
The Mariners are leading baseball, scoring seven or more plus
runs nine times this year. I don't know what happened,
but I'm liking what I'm seeing now. That's the good news. Oh,
I'd be remissified. I mentioned Cal Raley, who's tied for
the major league baseball lead with ten home runs, has

(04:01):
him on pace for the greatest season of his career.
Dylan Moore, who I mentioned, ops nine oh three, slugging
five point fifty seven. There's only one guy right now
in that lineup every day. Well there's more than one guy,
but specifically one guy. I didn't expect anything of Rowdy

(04:27):
tu Lez, so he is on brand of To quote
Denny Green, Rowdy tu Lez is who I thought he was.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Right.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
He can't even bat his weight, which looks like it's
about three hundred and forty pounds. If he could bat
his weight, the Mariners would be the best hitting team
in baseball. But he is who we thought he was.
Julio still waiting on it, still waiting. Julio April May

(05:01):
is gonna be here on Thursday. Feel free to show
up any time. I love to see it, would love
to see it. So now that's the great news. How
did it change?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Two words?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Dan Wilson another two words, Edgar Martinez another two words,
Kevin Sitzer. Those three individuals I'm going to give credit
with this team's turnaround, and we all thought it would
be with pitching, right, everybody did?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
I mean, we best.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Pitching staff in baseball this side of Chavez Ravine. Pitching's
been okay, but certainly you know, Kirby hasn't pitched one
inning all season, still hurt, Gilbert out with a elbow
flexer's fifteen dayl.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Which usually is a precursor.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
For a lot longer. So that concerns me. It's weird
how life works out, isn't it? Everybody, who's anybody? We
go into this season talking about the Mariners batting lineup,
and justifiably so, as if they're the Seahawks O line

(06:32):
piss poor, pathetic. But then something just changes and it
looks like everybody and Ben Williamson was really brought up
for defensive purposes at the hot corner.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
He's been nothing short of spectacular at the plate as well.
He's been getting it done.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
So when they play like crap, I'm gonna be the
first to call him out. But when they play great,
I'm going to be the first to bow down and say,
holy ish, how about those Mariners, because they've been doing
it ever since that series. Remember they got swept against

(07:18):
the Giants, they came home, they won the first of
three against the Astros, and they lost in extra innings
on a Tuesday night before a Businessman special. I vividly
remember because I was about to fly out to Vegas
after the show on Wednesday, April ninth, and I went

(07:39):
on a rant about Julio. I will never forget it.
And since that rant, this team has been on absolute
fire fire.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
They're twelve and sixteen since the rant. So do you
credit me? Maybe a little bit? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I mean, we got those speakers out loud outside the
Silver Cloud Stadium Jimmy's on first. Maybe somebody heard something that,
Hey man, this new guy over on kJ R, he's
just kicking the crap out of this team, calling him out,
saying they don't deserve to have the fans that drive

(08:23):
down from Spokane and spend three nights and they're hard
earned money staying at the Silver Cloud Stadium. Great Hotel
was my home for three weeks. The first three weeks
I lived here. But everything's turned around and I'm loving it,
and he had got to keep it going because after

(08:43):
the next two days tonight and tomorrow with the Businessman
Special one ten first pitch, Emerson Hancock on the Mound,
They've got a six game road trip at Texas and
you know, I'm not gonna say huge series, but they
swept them, so you know, those dudes are gonna be

(09:04):
looking for revenge coming up, and it's gonna be lighter.
Corbin and de Gram they're gonna face coming up this weekend.
So Texas there, they got a receipt from that series,
and then they go to Sacramento to play the future

(09:25):
Las Vegas as.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I am absolutely.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Loving what I'm seeing so far this team, and I'm
gonna credit those three individuals, Dan Wilson, Edgar Martinez, and
Kevin Seitzer.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Something turned around.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And when you have a Hall of Famer like Edgar
in there, you start to see maybe some things start
to turn right. And you're starting to see it now
and it's refreshing in a imagine. If the biggest star
in Seattle sports can actually come up to the dish

(10:06):
and earn that contract, how great would that be?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
He got the big deal, it's.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Gonna take care of him and his family for the
rest of his life. But hasn't quite earned that contract yet?

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Has he?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Twelve years, two hundred and nine and a half million
dollar contract, fifteen million dollars signing bonus full no trade
clause too, by the way, And if he can reach
his incentives and escalators, he can increase the value of

(10:45):
the contract to four hundred and seventy million dollars.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
But it's up to you, Julio. We're waiting on you.
We're all waiting on you.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
May's coming up on Thursday, pal At the season's here.
I know you get off to notoriously. It slow starts.
It's fine because this thing is a marathon, not a sprint.
I get it. But please, we're all waiting for you.
I'm gonna go to my first Mariners game tomorrow after
the show. I'm not flying out of town. Don't have

(11:16):
to be anywhere tomorrow. After the show. I'm gonna walk
across the street before I'm gonna get a Seattle Dog
at I think the name of the place is Al's
Gourmet Extra Cream Cheese Please. And then I'm heading into
the ballpark for my first game this season, finally get
a chance to go in and see the team.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Now.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I've been to T Mobile before when it was Safego
in twenty sixteen, when Big Cat was still here. Right,
we all remember those days. I'm very worried right now
though about Logan Gilbert and now you have arguably your
top two starters on the shelf for who knows how

(12:01):
long it's concerning. And Logan, listen, the three guys on
this team that have been worth the price of admission
all season long, well, actually four. Dylan Moore didn't see
that one, didn't have that one of my big old
card Logan Gilbert, the Ace had that one. Andre Smunio's

(12:24):
best closer in baseball.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
And.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Poor Hey Polonco. Wow. So to Girard's credit, I call
him out.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I don't like when he opens his mouth and he
puts his foot in it and says stupid things like
fifty four percent. We're really doing the fans a favor
those type of things, right, But Polonco. Something clicked and
it's working right now. I'm loving what I'm seeing. I

(12:59):
want to see. I just gotta see more and more
and more. And I've got my eye on forty four
because if you want to be one of those saber
metrics baseball dorks and.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
See Benning average doesn't count. Okay, okay, there, dork, Okay,
there dork. Does war count? Does ops count? Does slugging count?
Does OBP count? Because his slashes suck across the board?
Oh okay, maybe his strikeout rate is down? Golf clap,

(13:40):
golf clap on base percentage three oh eight.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
No, not for the biggest star on the team. No,
I'm sorry, not good enough, not good enough. Hell, Mitch
Garver has a higher OBP than Julio Rodriguez does I know?

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Third lesson batch, But come on, forty four, let's go.
It's time.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
You're just waiting for it because I've been nice on
Julio so far, and I know you think I've ripped them.
You haven't seen anything yet, because I'm gonna tell you
something right now. I believe I'm probably the only one
in this market that rips Julio on a consistent basis. Okay,
I believe I'm the only one that does that. And

(14:30):
I can tell you if Julio was playing for the Mets,
the Yankees, the Red Sox, or the Phillies, he would
be getting crucified and vilified every day on those sports
talk stations in those markets. Believe you me, so allow
me to be the voice of the voiceless, to be

(14:56):
the voice of the fans. I will be your conduit.
I see you, I hear you. You can hit me
up on social media. You know my socials. Mark James,
Marc James on Twitter, Instagram, Mark James Talk. You can
hit me on the text line four nine four five one. Oh.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
By the way, the voice chech is always open.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
The new and approved iHeart Radio app ninety three to
three KJR microphone icon button. I've been nice to Julio.
You don't want to see me when I'm angry. Oh,
by the way, speaking of angry, amj angry? Mark James.
Go back into the podcast that were posted yesterday. Go

(15:39):
back and listen if you missed it. You want to
hear a rant. You want to hear a rant on
Shadur and mal and mel kiper Go to MJ in
the midday wherever you can find your podcasts and listen
to our two segment one from yesterday, and then maybe

(16:01):
I do a little karaoke in segment two on Quinn Yours.
So one of the texters said yesterday, now my dogs
are screaming hearing you sing, so but go you want
to listen to a rant of monumental proportions on how
you do it. That's how you do it. Listen to
that rant from yesterday. Go back and check that out.

(16:24):
I highly implore you to do so. And if you
listen to it and you listen to it live yesterday,
I highly implore you to do it again. Because Julio,
I'm waiting for you to come around. Bro, I'm waiting
for it. Feel free. It's been you know, the season
now for a month. Here, we're a month into the season.

(16:44):
Feel free to get going anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
And I get it. Lindora got off to a really
slow start last year.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
And guess what happened in the Big Apple He got
absolutely annihilated. And what happened at the end of day
he turned into the most valuable player on the New
York Mets. I'm hoping that Julio will channel his inner
Francisco Lindor and do the same thing for the Mariners.

(17:14):
I know he can do it. I know the talents
there live up to the contract. Julio, You're getting paid
and that's guaranteed money.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
So let's.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
LFG, let's f and go Julio. That's all I want
to say, LFGJ, let's f and go Julio.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Four nine four, five to one.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
On the text line, speaking of Shaduur speaking of money, how.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Much money did he.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Lose dropping all the way to the fifth round? A
Hall of Famer tells us next on MJ and the
Midday Natty three to three KJRTHM. Then Shaduur Sanders Hall
of Fame wide receiver, former ESPN and Fox personality Chris
Carter came out and talked about, well, how much money

(18:12):
should Door Sanders lost by falling to the fifth round?

Speaker 4 (18:16):
All right, So what happened with should or Sanders? Well,
a number of things happened. The number one thing that
didn't happen was there was not a collusion message with
the NFL owners because they wouldn't be able to keep
a secret like that. Every owner is very very selfish. Now,
why would I do something to my detriment, like if
I need a quarterback and I think this kid is it.

(18:36):
What he didn't realize is the guys that have fallen
in the draft before, they all had unusual traits, like
they had some superstar qualities to them. Now, some other
things happened that made them fall. But Shadoor and his
family they overplayed their hand, them thinking that he was
in the same evaluation mode as Eli Manning. They they

(19:00):
didn't play that right. Them trying to narrow the teams
that he was going to go to. That didn't do right,
not working out the combine, that wasn't the right thing
his interview process. Obviously, he could have done a lot
better than that. A lot of people left that meeting
felt he was very very entitled which.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Meet because they said Brian briand the ball Giants coach
had said he didn't like to meet and he asked
him he had some book he was his playbook or
something he's supposed to know and he said he felt
weird about I don't know who else said they didn't
like to meeting with him, or was just Peel behind
the scenes saying they did well.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
The thing about it, they didn't draft him, I know.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
So it's not the tape, and he likes guys to
be a little more open before he lets it go.
And he doesn't have a big time arm. He's not
a big guy, he's not overly athletic. So his measurables
are not, say, first round measurables. But he played football
like a first round but his tape's first round tape.
But his measurables are not first round measurables. Well, you
don't play football all the time. You're a human being

(19:55):
the rest of the time.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
And how you're going to all right, so they're talking
about you do or and going into measurables. Okay, so
they're talking about, all right, why did he drop? Why
did he drop? And the part that I'm waiting for
is how much money did he lose in this draft?
How much money? Continue Chris Carter?

Speaker 4 (20:19):
And how you're going to be in the locker room.
How he already came up with this line of merchandise legendary,
like he's already calling himself legendary. All those things are
problems right now. He's working check to check man like
he's not going to get a big signing bonus. There's
not going to be a big guarantee any day. They
want to get rid of him.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
In the week, they can get rid of him, don't
we think should are smart enough to know he's not
at Jackson Ate and he's not at Colorado.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
No, you don't think so. I listened to too many
of his answers. I saw too many of the outtakes.
I saw too many times he's working out with other players,
and he said things that I thought were highly questionable
for my franchise quarterbacks, Like what when he was working
out with cam Ward? Him and cam Wood's number one pick? Hey, man,
you want to cut a rap video together? No, I
want to be known as a football player.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
And he's like, what do you do for fun? I
got to play football.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Why wouldn't you sit down with people and something these
kids never understand. Even if you're a top ten pick,
you're in the NFL for a long time. So your interview,
your tape, people in the room to see you. Someone
can like you in the room. They might not draft
you five ten years later.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Man, you're looking for a guy, you're looking at trade
and they remember your interview.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Yes, it's a small world.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
This whole thing with Dion and the media and everything
like it's out of control, Like it did not help him.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
It helped him make money in.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
College because you got followers, but it actually hurt him
as far as him getting a job as an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
I mean, that's shador so so far co Son and everything.
Chris Carter is saying on his podcast, they couldn't have
played this worth team Prime complete just destroyed. They acted
as if every NFL team was doing them a disservice

(22:08):
to interview, to throw, to call plays, cadences, formations, whatever,
dable with the giants in Cleveland, as Hugh Millan talked
about on every show on this station, you name it
really bad across the board.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
His social media stef for sure, yes, and hurt him.
What else heard him? Let me tell you what he
understands today. Okay, he ain't running. Okay, let me tell
you what they told him, A great lesson. Okay, like
you don't have this figured out, your dad, don't have
this figured out?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Who's they and a fashion world?

Speaker 2 (22:50):
No?

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Who tell you said they taught him? I'm just curious, like, well,
the system, the system.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
There's a system out there, man, like you're you're going
for a job interview. So the job interview, he was
so concerned about, oh oh, what his outfit was. His
necklace was over one hundred grand. Like, he hadn't even
convinced people that you're the face of our franchise. Matter
of fact, he had convinced people that they were better
off going in a different direction, even with.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
People who had lesser talent. That's wow, that line right there.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Not only did he not convince other teams that he
was not the face of their franchise, he actually did
the opposite by going and visiting facilities. They went in
the other direction. Tom Brady's known cheduer since he was
like nine years old for real.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Nine or ten.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Dion got Brady in front of him and he started
instructing him. Pete Carroll, John Spytech, No, thank you. They
didn't want anything to do with them. Same thing with
the Tom Brady's former coach in New England didn't even
get an interview, Bill Belichick, not even an interview. He
went with the guy Brady that he beat in the

(24:05):
Super Bowl, Pete Carroll. He rather went with p say, listen,
I want this locker room to be under the best stability.
I'd rather have it be with Pete Carroll than Bill Belichick.
So that tells you all you need to know.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
It's the world he put on the people. That's the case.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
That's a bad interview, bro.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
No, it is the case.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
He didn't get drafted, right, it's no speculation like we're
through the draft.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
We threw three days.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
He threw away at least thirty to fifty million dollars.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Whoa at least.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
At least thirty to fifty million dollars.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Hoy, they.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I think you know, I'm not the biggest Chris Carter fan,
but he's spitting nothing but truth. There, nothing but truth.
So I appreciate someone who does that. He's not tied
in anybody, he's not working for a network, he doesn't
have to pull punches.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Always like that, Always love it. I mean, listen, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
I mean we would love to be the you know,
everybody wants to be the flagship of all the best
teams in town. But when you're not, you get to
be the voice of the fan. And that is where
I come in. And I appreciate the text on the
text line from the two OHO six. This will probably

(25:35):
be too long for air, but it's for UMJ. So
refreshing to hear a KJR employee that has the cohone
is to actually be critical of the Mariners when deserved.
That's taboo in this town. I'm gonna paraphrase here, uh said,
wish you were here before such a joke. This town

(25:56):
treats their athletes and organizations as untouchable for criticism. I'm
I wish I could say more of this text, but
oh oh he and he ended it with this snowflake
town needs you well.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
I am here.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
I am here to be the voice of the fans,
the voice of the voiceless, because I see myself always
first and foremost as a fan before a broadcaster, member
of the media, journalist, all that crap. Fan first fan,

(26:35):
second fan, third fan, fourth fan, fifth fan, tenth to
one hundredth and then maybe a.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Sports talk host after that.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
It's without the fans, just like without the listeners, we
are nothing.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Seriously, we are nothing. We don't exist without you.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I know that it might take me a little bit
longer in my career to figure that out, later than
I should have sooner, But now I know that I
had a boss one time in Atlanta, and he said
one of the interesting things to me. He was our
big boss. And he was the big boss of one

(27:15):
of the greatest R and B stations of all time,
the People's Station V one oh three, which has produced
so many of the people that you see that are
you know, big in the hip hop R and B
industry have come out of Atlanta, that station in particular.
And he said something really good one day, which I
took to heart. One of the only good things he said.

(27:37):
But I took it, and I said, he goes, you
know what, don't tell me that you like how my
tie looks.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
I'm not your boss. They are.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
And he pointed out to Peachtree Street, which Peachtree Street
is very long in the a he goes up and
down from Buckhead down to underground Atlanta, and he said,
they are your bosses, meaning the audience. If they don't
like you, I won't have you here. And it was

(28:09):
like that sort of a light bulb went off, like
you know, like I saw, like, wow, he's right, he's right.
Without the fans, we are nothing. And that goes for
professional sports teams as well. Without the fans, they are nothing.
If people stop coming to games, they stop buying merch
they stop. If they stop coming to games, they stop
going to concessions because they're not at the games, then

(28:31):
they don't buy parking.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
It's all encompassing, all of it.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
So for me, I will always look at everything through
the voice in the prism and the point of view
of you, the listeners, the fans, even the ones that
like to text in every day at nine fifty nine
am and saying.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Ooh, I'm gone see you at one.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, even you, even you star for attention, Yeah, even you.
I will be the voice of you, whether you realize
it or not, because that's my job. I will always
look at everything through the fans point of view. I
gotta tell you right now, I know a couple hosts
in Cleveland. I might have to get one of them

(29:18):
on because that's gonna be free radio right now in Cleveland.
You just open up, crack the mic and say shodure.
And by the way, twelve shares, twenty shares, thirty shares,
I mean, big time ratings.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
But I'm glad John Schneider went in a different direction.
Would have been.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Great for us, great for sports talk radio. You talk
about polarizing Holy Guacamoley, but we don't need that circus
in the locker room. We don't need it. I read you,
and that's why I implore you to go back to yesterday,

(30:02):
to my rant in the beginning. One of the best
rants I've ever gone on in my entire career was
at the beginning of hour two of yesterday's show.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Go look at it.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
It's there for twenty eight hour one rant on melon
shador go listen to it. And that's for you. That's
for the fans. The fans and the listeners are what
counts the most period exclamation point. So when you complain
about the Mariners, I know where you're coming from and

(30:34):
I feel you. And just because Jorge Polanco's batting really
great this year, this doesn't absolve Girard and John Stanton
from being apathetic and doing nothing in the off season.
You just happen to look out that the guy you
resigned has had a great season so far, and I
hope he keeps it up.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
I really do all right.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Coming up next, Ooh, I had an issue with this
guy one time. Oh yeah, a general manager in sports
getting a little thin skinned. Well, I can personally talk
about this guy. Mjay in the midday hitting the all
fields don't go anywhere ninety three to three, kJ Artham.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
All right, hitting the all fields.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
The Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Bean got a little
but hurt and defensive.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
When he was asked about the draft.

Speaker 6 (31:41):
No, it was it was just listen to the last
few minutes of your show before I came home waiting
on here. I was like twenty eighteen all over with
you guys.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Oh we're very how so well?

Speaker 6 (31:51):
You guys were twenty eighteen about Josh Allen. You guys
wanted Josh Rosen, And now you guys are that we
don't have a receiver. I don't get it, like we
just sco hold on, let me talk. We just scored
thirty points in a row for eight straight games a
year ago. I get you guys asking why we didn't
have receivers, but I don't understand it.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Now.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
You just saw us lead the league in points. When
you add all the postseason, no one scored more points
than the Buffalo Bills, including the Super Bowl champions.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
So you just saw us.

Speaker 6 (32:22):
Do it without Stefan Diggs saying group, how is this
group not better than last year's group? Our job is
to score points and win games. Where do we need
to get better defense. We did that, So I get it.
You got to have a show and you got to
have something about But about wide receiver is one of
the dumbest arguments I've heard.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
I can tell you.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
I have a history of the Brandon Bean the general
manager of the Buffalo Bills. He was an assistant with
the Carolina Panthers under Marty Hernie. So one day I
get summoned. We're at Panthers' training camp in twenty twelve,
I believe, no, twenty thirteen. I think it was twenty
twelve or twenty thirteen. It was Cam Newton's second or

(33:05):
third season, going into his second or third season, Like,
oh yeah, And so I get brought to the assistant
general manager's office, which was Brandon Bean at the time.
He's like, yeah, I hear that. You know, you've been
ripping me on the air. And I'm like, okay, you
want to be specific. He as well, you were just
saying that, you know, there's no way I was deserving

(33:28):
of being a general manager here, And I said, well, yeah,
I did say that. He was well, why did you
say that? I said, because you were under Marty Hearne.
For basically your entire tenure, and this fan base, looking
at it through the point of view of the fans,
doesn't want Marty Hernie light. They don't want Marty Herne
two point zero. And whenever you heard that I said

(33:51):
about you was actually probably worse. I probably said worse
about you, And he just didn't know what to do.
It's like, gonna do You're trying to strong army. I'm six',
five you're five to. Six what's? Up what are you gonna?

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Do?

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Brandon very thin?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Skinned if you're that thin, skinned you shouldn't be a
general manager, seriously or don't do sports radio.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Interviews very thin. Skinned so that was, it and then
he went on to become THE gm of The.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Bills, Now sean McDermott's the one who's making most of
those picks Because sean McDermott was the one who Brought
brandon bean. In McDermott is controlling that team the Way
belichick did The. Patriots so even Though brandon Bean by
titles general, manager and, yes he certainly has a strong
voice and they have a, collaboration But sean McDermott has

(34:43):
total veto. Power so, yeah apparently the sports talk host
In buffalo didn't like the fact that they avoided receiver
until the seventh. Round so, again buy some thicker, Skin Brandon.
BEAN i think it's a vailed Bond eBay Or, amazon
please buy some thicker. Skin but, yes there's My Brandon bean.

(35:06):
Story so WHEN i saw, It Christopher kibbs, like, yeah
let's do. IT i Saw Brandon bean AND i clicked.
On i'm, like oh, yeah oh, YEAH i. CAN i
can personalize this. One, yes believe it or, Not, folks
general managers are very, thin skinn and in sense and
very ultra. SENSITIVE i don't know if you know that they.
Are they really, are not all of, them most of them.

(35:28):
Could they don't. Care they don't care about. Media they don't.
Care with some of them Like Brandon, bean Rabbit, ears Rabbit,
Ears they're they're. Listening they're. Listening, wow what in? EXCHANGE
i love?

Speaker 1 (35:41):
It all.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Right we're trying to get a special guest coming, Up,
max SO i want to keep it secret because he
said he would come on And i'm trying to confirm
it AND i don't want to give this person's name
who is no stranger To.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
Seattle so we'll do that if we don't.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Get, THAT i will pivot and we'll get to The
softy And.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Dick interview With Jalen milroe.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yesterday so we're gonna go one of two different directions
right here next ON mj in the midday ninety three
three kJ r at them
