Speaker 1 (00:00):
Emery Hunt from CBS. Emery, good to talk to you.
Happy draft time of the year. It's a great time
of the year, and the Seahawks are sitting there, Emery,
with five of the first ninety two picks in the draft.
But let's start at eighteen, all right. I'm gonna throw
some names out there at you, and you could tell
(00:22):
me if any of these guys will be there at eighteen,
or you could say, you know what, Mark, I don't
like any of your options. I would rather go with
this guy at eighteen. I'm gonna throw out just on
a snowballs chant at somehow, some way, Tyler Warren, the
tremendous tight end out of Penn State drops I highly
doubt he will, but you never know. Will Campbell, the
(00:44):
offensive tackle out of LSU. And the guy that I've
been all on from Jump Street Emery Kelvin Banks Junior,
the tremendous tackle out of Texas that could also play
at a guard. I've also seen people put Matthew gold Well,
then I think that would be a huge mistake taking
a receiver at eighteen. What do you say, well, if
(01:07):
any one of those three that you mentioned, the first ones.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Are there at eighteen. That's an easy pick, Like you
pick any one of those three. I would find it
real hard to see that Warren and or Campbell would
be there. Banks, he kind of could say maybe maybe not,
depends on that ten to fifteen range. But if those
three guys are there, then you take them for me.
And it's because when you look at Warren what he
(01:32):
does and how he can enhance your red zone offense
because he can be a wildcat quarterback because he can
actually throw and does a great job in running with
the football. He's a good blocker, willing blocker, So I
have no issues with that. Will Campbell, I mean, he's
been dominated from day one. I talk about getting baptized
by five. He goes out there against Derek Versus first game,
(01:53):
you know, one of the first big games at LSU,
and held his own guy better every year. And Banks
is someone that clip across the front, so he can
play left, he could play right, he can play inside
if you need to dude, that versutility yields itself to
him being a dynamite pro Golden to me would be
especially with the way they've added some pieces in pre agency,
kind of would be a luxury and if you're going
(02:15):
to go with someone at eighteen at that position, I
lean more toward Luther Burton because I feel like that's
someone that could be that bona fide x out there
as well.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Emery Hunt here on MJ in the Midday, I love
what you said there about being a luxury pick.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I couldn't agree with you more.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Now, if Tenoroa McMillan drops to eighteen, well then maybe
you have a decision to make. But I think I
think you just and you know, listen, Emery, we're looking
at John Schneider, right, here's a guy who's had parendically
one of the worst O lines in the NFL. Now,
(02:53):
he's done a lot of things in the offseason, and
I like the offseason the Seahawks have had. But what
you said, I think we're both on the same page there.
I feel drafting a receiver at eighteen is like the
foundation of your home is crumbling due to termites, and
you know, just it was built with cheap whatever material
(03:14):
they used, so you go out and buy a car.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Right, It just doesn't right, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
I would say this to it, like one guy that
is probably gonna be there, that would make all the
sense in the world because it pairs that would potentially
be a need. But also with whom is going to
be a quarterback? Is Tyler Booker from Alabama? Yes, big
fan of what he does on the interior. He legitimately
(03:41):
stone walls defenders. And we know offense happens guards in
the guard play. If they're not good on the interior,
you're not gonna have good offense. And when you look
at someone like Sam Darnold who struggles with pressure and
dealing with the physical pressure, that's something you have to
really make sure he doesn't see any And so interior
(04:01):
offensive line players where they can go. I wouldn't even
be upset they went D line. You know someone that
can kind of, you know, play their run on the
way to the quarterback, not necessarily an edge guy, but
a physical defensive lineman that can also pressure. I would
go along that lines as well. So for me, it's yeah,
why were you, especially with the moves made this. You
(04:22):
know in this month they've done a good job and
at least plugging some holes. And you still have Jack
Smith and dickbook already on a team. So you got
one guy and you added some solid vetteran pieces to
help you.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Out Emery hunt Strap failings from CBS on MJ in
the Midday. Now, the one thing I'm gonna say, I'm
looking at CBS Sports right now, they have Tyler Booker
ranked as the thirty sixth overall prospect in the draft.
So that would be a little bit of an overdraft
for me there at eighteen. Now, I'm gonna give you
a guy that a lot of people Emery are saying
(04:52):
could be taken at twenty one. So and I'm really
leaning hard on this. I'm I'm kind of going Anakin
Skywalker to Darth Vader here, and I know this doesn't
help out the O line, but apparently the Pittsburgh Steelers
are gonna grab this guy at twenty one. Why can't
(05:13):
the Seahawks do what the Falcons did last year after
signing Kirk Cousins to a much bigger deal than the
Seahawks did with Sam Darnold.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Why not with the eighteenth pick, take Jackson.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Dart out of Ole miss To me, I think he's
going to be a better pro quarterback than Shador Sanders
in my opinion. I know that doesn't solve anything at
the O line, but they do have two second round picks,
and they do have two third round picks. Would you
be okay if John Schneider went with Jackson Dart at eighteen?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Absolutely not. Man, I can't get the last memory Florida. Wow,
I can't get the last two minutes of the Florida
game out of my mind. This man through three American
interceptions in the last two minutes of a football game,
all one back. Gave him a reprieve. He went right
back to it and through it again. And this is
with the playoffs on the line. Now. The difference between
him and Shaudor Sanders precis shudor Ace. Every end up
(06:11):
game situation, fourth quarter, two minute drills, red do on offense,
back up offense, gotta have this situations. Dart has felt
in all of those situations, especially with the playoffs on
the line. I will say this, though, he got off
to a horrible start against Georgia, and whatever happened on
the sideline, maybe maybe he saw his backup go in
(06:33):
and go right down the field and Scot like, you
know what, I better get this thing going on. I'm
about to get Wiley Pipps. And then he had a
better game. But that's the problem. He's not able to
put together and that's someone that struggles with pressure. So
that would be the worst possible pick. Instid of made
that one at pickk.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
T so so you really you're you're not so that
would be to you just a major like overdraft and
a colossal mistake. You just don't like that now, like
you said, he did beat Georgia. He you know, like
there was some big ones. Now I'll throw another one
there at you. They I mean they lost a home
in Kentucky, Like, how does that happen? I mean Kentucky
(07:10):
in football when you have all that. So but there's
a part of me Emory that thinks that Lane Kiffin
is not great in big game situations. So I gotta
put some of that on Lane Kiffin and a colleague
of ours in the media, Joe Klatt. I think it's
what he did this to Lane Kiffin right around the
(07:31):
National championship for college No. I think it was around
the college Football Playoff semi final. Emery he said, if
you are only as good of a coach as you
are on Twitter, your team would be in the playoff.
I like that would to be with the ultimate Mike
drop so I put a little bit of that on
(07:51):
Lane Kiffen. Now, I will say this, though he is tough,
eighteen could be an overdraft. But I'll be the first
to tell you I think Shador Sanders, if he drops
past the Jets at seven, I don't think he gets
he goes before twenty one.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I have never seen a quarterback that has done as
But if Jackson Dark has Shador Sanders resume, they'd already
be saying that Titans should already have the contract ready
to go for Jackson Dark because he's gone number zero.
He ain't going number one overall, he's going past that.
We signed them right now. So Shadoor is the most
(08:28):
pro ready quarterback in this class based on how he's
played at two different schools, bringing those schools up to
where they were competitive and won a lot of games.
Hedn't even lose a conference game at Jackson State. And
then when you think about having to win with your
last name being Sanders and at that position, everybody wants
you to fail, he constantly was able to succeed and
(08:51):
play really well. So I think especially and if you're
if you look at it from just a you know,
Sam Darner perspectly, like, Yo, what the hell I could
have stayed in Minnesota for this? You know, you go
draft the young quarterback, especially early when we're trying to
build something. Not only did you vacate a DK Metcalf
and Tyler Lockett. Yeah, you brought us some veterans, but
(09:12):
you also did help to improve the you know, the
offensive line. He also now drafted a quarterback that if
I go out there and have just a random bad day,
everybody's gonna be called to do it on the side.
So that would be that's just total team. This could
uh this construction. If you are a Josh Knight, I
hope he doesn't think I gotta go get quarterback here,
because at that point, if if Shador Senters is there,
(09:34):
yes you take him. That's a good option. But Jackson dark.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
All right.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
First of all, I wouldn't all right, I could see
you on Jackson Dart. I wouldn't touch the doors there either.
But I will tell you this, he's not the not
the moors quarterback ready. Its name is cam Ward. He's
the most quarterback ready. And I will tell you, and
I've seen this from a lot of different reports out
there coming off the combine they're saying that Shoulder is
(09:59):
more compara Bowle to Jackson Dart than he is on
the level of cam Ward. Listen, Tennessee's broken off all
the talks with Abdull Carter, with Travis Hunter that cam
Ward's gonna be the number one pick. And there's a
reason why I covered this guy this year at Miami,
and I will tell you in the six games I
saw him in person, he is ready and I'm gonna
throw you one further emery. In the three losses that
(10:21):
the Miami Hurricanes had this year, you want to know
what his numbers were? Eight touchdowns, zero interceptions. They did
not make the playoffs because of cam Ward. They didn't
make the playoffs because they have a game day dumbass
head coach named Mario Christopaul. They didn't make the playoffs
because they had the worst defense maybe in power for
college football history. That's why they didn't make the playoffs.
(10:43):
Cam Ward should have been if it wasn't for Travis Hunter,
who I don't have any problem with taking the heisman,
but cam mord to me, this guy's gonna come in
with Tennessee day one. He's gonna kill it. And I
think He's gonna be a perennial pro bowler for the Titans,
and I think it's gonna be cam Ward versus C. J.
Stroud in the AFC South for years to come.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Cam is just as good as Shadua, Like you have
no argument for me, then better as as someone has
graded NFL prospects since two thousand and seven. Shaduur to
me is right up there. When you look at why
people love Joe Burrow is because of his in of
game situations. How he's able to lock in versus pressure,
doesn't get phased by the moment both of the defense
(11:28):
and also of the situation, and it's able to excel
third down ephins, back to buffers, read zone office, in
the game situations. How many times he stayed up late
on your time, specific time and watch these Colorado games
where they have to go nine nine yards just to
stay in the game or tie the game or go
into overtime, and Shaudor has excelled in those situations. But
he had it.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
But he also had emery one of the highest sack
rates amongst courts.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
You know why he had one of the highest second.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Run the football well in their own line did suck.
So I mean, I'll give him that.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, I wouldn't. I won't. I won't see the ar
trash because you wouldn't be as productive as a quarterback
if you're all I was complete the better.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
They were better this year, Emery than they were a
year ago. But remember in that Nebraska game. And you know,
the thing about Shadeur is that another thing that a
lot of people are going against him is just the
fact that he threw his own line underneath the bus
after that game, and that was sort of a red
flag for some people. But listen, his talent level, Oh listen,
Cam has the highest floor I think, you know, in
(12:28):
terms of potential and in ceiling. I could be convinced
that Shadur might have the highest ceiling, but I don't
know if that ceiling will be fulfilled. That's why I'd
rather put my money on a guy that I believe
from day one is going to come in and kill it,
and that's Cam. Order is a leader of people. And
I can tell you a story that Mike Irvin told
(12:50):
me last year when he told me at the UFC
pay per view a year ago, and he said he
called one of his receivers and his receivers. He's like,
where are you at. He's like, I'm I'm I'm in
a lotder Dale, I'm in Boynt Beach. I'm catching passes
from Lamar Jackson. He's like why. He's like, you need
to get down here right now. He's like, why you
(13:11):
can't goes Listen. If you don't get down here right now,
not only will you not be catching passes from Lamar Jackson,
you won't be catching passes from me this fall.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
That's a leader. That's all right, isn't that. Let me
tell you something.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
When cam Ward walks out into a when he walks
into a room, when he walks onto a field, he
just epitomizes alpha male.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
He's that guy.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
He's come a long way from carnate word and then
Wazoo and then at my You know, he came from
from Pullman. He was a year ago, he was a
fourth or fifth round pick. Now he's number one overall
and he proved and his stock. He bet on himself, right,
he bet on himself and now it's all paying off
for him as he will be the number one pick.
(13:59):
And and listen, so let me just ask you this though.
With the Seahawks, as we look at them second round,
third round. They got two second round picks. There any
players in particular that you would look at there and say,
all right, I'm going here for Seattle with their two
second round picks, one of them being the that they
got from Pittsburgh For DK metcalf, I.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Would probably lean more into the Week six of the season.
Everybody's always saying, oh, there's enough offensive lineman out there,
it's hard to find offensive line. Well, if you have
a chance to get good offensive linemen in the beginning
to middle parts of the draft, you gotta do so.
So if Marcus Ware Montana State is there guy that
could play guard or centers but helps you out on
(14:43):
the interior was a great down at the East West
Ryan Bowl. Outstanding talent dominated his level of competition. That's
one guy. Charles Grant for William and Mary outstanding tackle,
great athlete, can also do a great job on both
ends of offense, not only in the run game, also
in past bro and he's so athletic. He helps expand
(15:03):
your run game and your past game because he can
get out on the move and block on the perimeter
as well. So those guys under the radar guys, small
school guys, but played big time competition. Based on how
many games Montanna Ce just played. They play a national
championship game. They also did a great job in their
FBS game against Mexico. And William and Mary plays in
the CIA, the Colonial Athletic Association, which is high level
(15:26):
FCS almost it's a pseudo FBS conference just in FCS
clothing and does a great job and his conference as well.
So and when you look at those two, I think
that's how the good teams stay good. You got to
continue to stockpile, cultivate, and develop that interior, offensive and
defensive live talent. I like you you.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
I love that you went to Emery Hunt is a
CBS NFL draft analyst. You went old school. I mean,
you went to small school. But I like that because
those are the diamonds in the rough that nobody's talking about.
Let me throw one guy at for you in the
second round that played a big school and is coming
off winning a national championship. I'm gonna go with Donovan
Jackson out of Ohio State. Do you see him being
(16:12):
a fit here in Seattle?
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Absolutely, because what helped him out was the fact that
he is a guard through and through, but they threw
him out there at tackle because of the injury. He
dominated and if it was because of his play that
helped them win that national championship because they faced some
terrific pass rushers in the playoffs and it was like, man,
we don't know if they're going to hold up because
they're banged up at tackle. They got to push their
(16:34):
guard out there to tackle, and it was like, Wow,
this dude can actually hold his own at left tackle
no less. So not only does he gives you that
great game day flexibility, because that's the biggest key in
the NFL. He only dressed so many offensive linemens, and
having someone that can get out there and hold his
own at tackle and also dominate at guard sign me
(16:55):
up all the time. Because this is someone that is
versat We talked about this with Calvin Banks, versatile athletic
and showed dominant in the biggest of games. So Donovan Jackson,
to me, out of any prospect in this draft class,
probably made the most money based off what he showed
in those last three to four games of the season.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
If you had to pick one or the other, him
or his teammate Josh Simmons who you take in and why.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Wow, Josh Simmons is so awesome. Man like Josh Simmons is.
He looks and moves like a tight end out there,
so you already just drawing up plays to utilize his athleticism.
But he's coming off of the injury, right And as
much as you want to say when everybody is full strength,
they're a B and C. But you know everybody responds
(17:37):
different to returning from injury. So I would probably lean
a little way from him and go more into Jackson.
So I would say Jackson in that regard.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
All right before I let you go, And I'd love
to have you on you know, again and again prior
to the draft to recap the draft. This this Gray
Emery Hunt from CBS NFL Draft analyst. When we look
back at this draft, Emery in five to ten years,
who are going to be the top three players. You
don't have to we don't have to get explaytions because
we're up against it. Just give me the guys who're
gonna look back and say that was the so and
(18:07):
so draft. The way we look at Jalen Carter when
the Eagles took him.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Shador Sanders cam Wore, Travis Hunter, Okay, farn All.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Right, how about a guy that isn't a high profile
Maybe some like the guy you mentioned from William and
Mary or Montana State. One of those guys that nobody
sees that isn't from a brand name power for school.
They could be like, man, that was a hell of
a talent evaluation.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I would also throw out their aj Gilly Louisiana offensive lineman,
dominating guard had a lot of fanfare coming into the season,
and I don't know why, it just kind of dissipated.
But when you go and watch their game against Marshall,
watch how he dominated Mike Green. Who's going to go
in the first round this year's NFL draft?
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Wow, I like it. Ja from the University of Louisiana
like the Cajuns.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Right, exactly, University louis Ryanam okay.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Not lshu Emery Hunt. I appreciate the time, man, it
was fun. I'm glad we're both on the same page
about my guy, cam Ward. I think he's gonna be
phenomenal and I'm looking forward to draft night. I'm looking
for the Seahawks. But I gotta tell you, I'm with you, man,
Unless it's McMillan. The worst mistake they can make is
taking a receiver at eighteen.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
I'm not doing it. There, no way.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
They got Marquez, Valdez, Gantling, they got Cooper Cup okay,
and they just can't afford that's a luxury pick at eighteen.
We'll talk to you soon. Thanks a lot.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Emery appreciate that. No, I appreciate you. Coming on all right,
coming up next. We I liked him.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
We're gonna get to, you know, the Mariners and where
this team can go after last night's win. Was that
justin anomaly or can they now take that and capitalize
that on their next two games against the Astros, including
tonight with catstee you on the mount and then the
red hot best record in baseball Texas Rangers coming in
(19:58):
after that. MJ and the Midday don't go anywhere. I
think we're gonna be at the Virginia Mason Athletics Center.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
On Draft Day.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
I don't know, Okay, I hope that. Okay, Thanks to
someone on the text line, this is good information. The
Mariners start Tomorrow's at one ten, not three ten. That's
my bad. One ten, So come on out get some
of that great food at Jimmy's on First. Oh, they're
chicken cob salad. Ian furness is the one I was
(20:27):
eating in couple was last week before I flew to
San Antonio. I was gonna go with the Burger. Their
smash Burger is. I've a better burger in Seattle than
Jimmy's on First smash Burger. I'm just telling you I
want it. I'll try to tell me a place that
I can get a better burger than that, and I
will do it. I haven't found one. They're smash Burger's phenomenal,
(20:48):
but now my number one in the AP poll my
Florida Gators. At Jimmy's on First is the chicken cob salad.
They put candied.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Bacon on it, and it is like addictive.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
It is.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
I'm telling you, even if you don't go to the
Mariners game tomorrow, come on by, say hello, or say
that you hate my show, whatever, come on by tomorrow
between ten and one. I'll be out there Jimmy's on
First across the street from T Mobile Park between ten
and one. Get a chicken cop salad, get whatever you like.
You know, they have great drinks there. I'm not a
(21:24):
big toy have unbelievable drinks. But that chicken cop salad is.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
That is elite. I have to read.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I gotta read some texts on the text slide because
it's funny. I know it's not as fun as the haters,
but I'm a Washingtonian for all my forty two years
and I love your show. The energy is much needed
in the passion is awesome. Yeah, she's a one, maybe
a two, just because of attitude alone. Nobody likes anyone
that thinks that everyone is there to serve their needs
(21:54):
and doesn't bring anything to the table.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Yes, I would agree that as well. But let me
just say.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
I if I'm at the Virginia Mason Athletics Center when
the Seahawks are making their eighteen pick, right there, at
the eighteen pick in the draft, and they take a receiver,
you better remove remote controls, you better take away any
objects that I can throw against a wall, because that's
(22:26):
the worst pick that they can make. And unless McMillan
from Arizona drops there and you feel okay McMillan, JSN,
we're set forever.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Fine.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I don't think he's gonna drop to eighteen. Do not
take Luther burden.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Do not take the safety out of South Carolina em
and worry. He's a stud. He's a stud, and I
I could be I'll.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Be Okay, you cannot take a receiver at eighteen and
unless it's McMillan, and you better damn well sure, you
better make sure McMillan is gonna be the second coming
of AJ Brown if I'm taking McMillan. There, all right,
I'm just saying, you better damn well make sure that's uh.
I gotta read this one in the text as well.
(23:12):
At this point I feel like a ball washer. But
please ignore the haters. I continue to maintain that your
passion and realness makes MJ in the Midday the best
thing that happened to Seattle Sports Radio in the thirteen
years i've been here. Also, no politics, but Rowdy to
Lez still looks like a fat jd vance.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Fat jd vance.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
That's pretty good due Oh by the way, Rowdy to Lez,
let's get let's get an update.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Let's get it update. Let me do my dick fin
tele Let's get.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
It update on Rowdy Telez.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Let's get his battle coverage. Oh, it's point.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Zero five six after all? For three last night Oh,
it's great. What a great acquisition by Topoto. Hello, routing
to Les point zero five six. This guy's a professional Blair.
He's getting paid right now.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
He is legally.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
But you know what I love about it, Rowdy, you
are legally stealing a check from an organization who is
ripping off their fans.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
So I love it. Continue. I'll be rooting for you.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
I hope you're batting after tonight's game point zero twenty eight.
I'm rooting for you, routing to Les, keep stealing that
check point zero five six. Oh my lord, what a
great acquisition that was by Jerry Depoto. Just a great acquisition.
(24:43):
Bo Oh. By the way, you know who's feeling kind
of stealing kind of strong today. Bucky Jacobson's like, Oh,
if you want to before you rip up that ticket
on the Mariners over underwins, you can give it to me,
or I'll buy it off of you for half the price.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Bucky. It was one game, Pal, it was one game,
and they should have lost if it wasn't for Polanco.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
It was one game. They're four and seven, they're in
last place. Chill out there, Pal, chill out. It was
one game there, one one. Let's just let's just see
how they do on the rest of this homestand but
Rowdy Teles, you do you bro point zero five six,
All right, don't forget.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
We'll talk about the KJR Major Golf Challenge.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
And.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
I've got some odds for you on the Masters and
who I'm leaning on.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
I gave you who was gonna be playing in the
National title was off on the winner because they couldn't
get off a freaking shot. But I got the odds
on the Masters and who I'm leaning towards as I
make my way to the Circle, the world's largest sports
book tomorrow after MJ and the Midday at Jimmy's on
first right here on ninety three to three KJR tem
(25:55):
All right, So hopefully you took my advice on March
Madness and it got you to the final game. I
hedged on Florida. Hopefully you did as well. Maybe you
liked Florida more than Houston. And who knows what would
have happened if they actually got off a shot. Would
have been nice to see, but we'll never know. I'm
gonna tell you before we get to the Masters, I'm
gonna be headed out to Oh, let me tell you
about our event coming up, the Major Golf Challenge Masters

three to three kjr dot com and get you thinking.
I'm gonna tell you right now, I wish I could
fade this guy. I'd fade him. There's no way this
(27:25):
guy's winning the Masters. So Chris, I made you play yesterday.
We played the thing from my the day before March Madness,
the field of sixty four. I had Houston versus Florida.
I picked McNee state. I'm telling you today, there's no
chance this guy wins the green jacket on Sunday. Rory McElroy.
Do you know the last time Rory McElroy won a major?
(27:45):
Give it to us twenty fourteen?
Speaker 3 (27:48):
The dud.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
The dude's got gray and white hair. Now on the
side like Rory McElroy is. Rory McElroy is the Tony
Romo of golf. Now he hasn't won anything in a decade. Oh,
he's won in twenty fourteen. Really, could you imagine if
I said, we're talking about a player in the NFL
or NB Oh, well, they were good in twenty fourteen.
(28:10):
He's the second highest rated favorite to win it at
plus six twenty five. So all right, let's go with
the Hear are the odds for the Masters. Scotty Scheffler
the prohibited favorite plus four seventy five. Rory McElroy, as
I mentioned, plus six twenty five, Bryson Deshambeau plus fourteen hundred,
(28:33):
Colin Morikawa plus fourteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
It could be good value there. John Rahm plus sixteen hundred,
all right, Ludwig.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
A. Berg Aberg plus seventeen hundred, Xander Schoffley plus two thousand.
Justin Thomas remembered that guy plus twenty two one hundred,
So I'm thinking shock on this one. Scotty Scheffler is
he's kind of like Florida and I'm and by the way,
(29:10):
he's an American as well, so he's definitely got that Florida.
But I'm gonna go Scotty Scheffler for now.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
As a guy.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
It's a safe bet plus four seventy five to win
the Masters. I think it's a solid bet. You want
value another American Colin Morikawa plus fourteen hundred right there.
So those are guys that I'm looking at right now,
and I'm leaned. I will tell you right now, I
will fade Rory McElroy. Please can I bet against him?
(29:42):
He's plus six twenty five to win. I will bet
everything I have that he will not win, just to
fade him. There's no way Rory's winning he's this guy
that he's known more for allegedly having an affair on
his wife with a certain broadcaster that he's is for
(30:02):
anything that he's won over the course of the last decade.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Twenty fourteen was this last major.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
And he's so overrated it's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. And oh
here's another thing as well about Rory McElroy. Never won
a green jacket, never won the Masters.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
So there's that.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
I've been to three Masters in a row on a
Sunday twenty eleven, twenty twelve, and twenty thirteen. I saw
Charyl Charles schwartzel Win, Bubba Watson, and Adam Scott, so
another good value.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
And I mentioned there at plus twenty two hundred.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Justin Thomas means you put up one hundred dollars, you
win twenty two hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
So those are what I'm looking at right now. But
I'm a bullish on.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Colin Morikawa know that name now, but you might come
Sunday night at about three point thirty local time here
in Seattle. Colin Morikawa, bet it now and hopefully thank
me later, just like I gave you on Houston and
Florida in the National Championship.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
Rory McElroy.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Oh, every year, this guy's so overrated every year, and
it's it's I don't I don't get it. There's this
fascination with Rory McElroy and it's just it befuddles me,
it really does.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Guys don't won anything in over a decade.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
The last time Rory mclroy won something, let's see, President
Obama was still in office.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
That's how long ago it was.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, Now, just so you know, it's been it's been
kind of a minute since he's won anything. Let's put
this also in perspective, if you will. The last time
he won anything, Cam Word was eleven years old. The
number one pick in the NFL draft in two weeks
was excuse me, no, no, no, yeah, he was eleven
(32:07):
years old.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
That was eleven years ago. I made What are we
talking about here? Ant man? How old is aunt man
right now? What's he? Twenty four? I believe?
Speaker 1 (32:16):
So? Who's thirteen? He's thirteen when Mary mcclroy won his
last major. But we love Rory McElroy, don't we. Yeah,
we love him, No, No, tell you who we love
I love Scotti Scheffler Colin Moore, Kawa in if you're
feeling a little frisky, Justin Thomas.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
There you go. That's who I'm going with.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Got a head on over the casino before this thing
gets started, but I'll cash in that ticket on Florida
that I hedged on.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
All right.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Coming up next, we have the NFC West. What's happened
with the other teams in this division? NFL execs unfiltered
on free agency and did the Seahawks actually get it right?
Found out next on MJ in the midday ninety three
three kJ Artham
