Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know this team is hmm, the Mariners I'm talking about.
I guess. Dan Wetzel just texted me Chris, so in Livetime.
I'm sorry, I'm on a call. I can't get off.
Can we do this next week? So Dan Wetzel, Yeah,
I'll I'll text him back. So there's happens in Live times. Yeah, yeah,

(00:22):
So I look forward to getting him on the air.
He just released a book about Katelyn Clark as well,
So that is a book that especially now with everything
going on between her and Angel Reese. But yeah, and
that's one of the things that and I brought this up, Chris,
and I want to get your thoughts on this because
you weren't here. The Hard Foul by Caitlin Clark on

(00:44):
Angel Reese. The borderline dirty, A little bit right, was
a little It was sort of.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
The first time I saw it, I thought I was
a flap because I didn't see the other I didn't
see the other angle.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Really, I didn't see the other angle I was they gave.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I saw the one angle looked like okay, Angel, she
pushed you, yes, dangerous, play cool, but you you did flop.
I saw the other angle. I said, oh, I stand corrected.
Not only was it it was a cheap shot. I
just didn't think it needed everything that followed. It was
a play that was a little rough. Yes, she didn't

(01:21):
have to push her. There's it was a foul that
you know, there are ways you can foul someone, but hey,
when you're in there, when you're competing. And I don't
know if Caitlyn even saw the play prior where she
shoved what's her Andrew shoved what's her name. I don't
remember the young lady's name, but she shoved. I don't

(01:42):
know she saw that and reacted like, hey, I'm getting
mine back. You know, I'm sticking up for my teammate.
It's basketball. There's gonna be times with a hard five.
Wasn't a Dylan Brooks type foul where she took her
head off And it was like, okay, that was There
was some maltin there.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
She hates that. I didn't see that.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
So the media pick up the storm and making it
a hate thing and all this other crap.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I wasn't for that. Was it a a egregious basketball blake.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Sure you could argue that it probably went a little
too far, But I did get to see two different
sides of it. The first angle, all right, she's flopping.
And then was our second angle. I said, oh no,
she didn't flop, not a flop. That was a hard
foul and yes, flavor one cool. Let's move on from that.
And I think that's where it needs to that's where
it is, and that's where he needs to die.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah. I'm fans of both women, and I think for
Angel Reese. And the one thing I will say is
about her, maybe she brought on herself. I don't know,
but she is now just synonymous with every time the
media interviews her, it's Caitlyn Clark, Caitlyn What about Kaitlyn Clark?
What about Kaitlyn Clark? And you know, and maybe she's

(02:47):
she's kind of done that a little bit in her
own Now. One thing about Angel Reese, and people were,
you know, coming at me on her on this, let
me just say this. He's averaging seventeen boards a game.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
All right, let's let's I already know where you're going
with this. She is a phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. No, I know what I'm saying,
a lot of people are coming out, oh she sucks. Ye,
she's a power forward.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
She's not supposed to be able to have handles like
a Caitlyn Clark. She plays her role very well, just
as Caitlyn Clark has changed the game in her way.
Let's not we don't have to tear one lady down
and she so she was both doing their thing.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
She made the All Rookie team last year with Kaitlyn Clark,
she's on it. They're both really good players, right.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
The difference is Kaitlyn Clark has just changed the game
kind of with the Steph Curry and Lebron thing. We
know Lebron's great. Steph Curry, he changed it.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
He did.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
He's doing things that just like, all right, bro, but
here's where, here's where. And obviously this week on social media,
the thing between Ryan Clark and RG three, which just imagine,
all RG three said was that I believe Angel Reies
hates Caitlyn Clark. I think that's probably a pretty fair assessment.

(03:57):
She certainly doesn't like her. And then that's RG three
said that, and then Ryan Clark comes back at him
and you know, questioning his ethnicity, and it was like, oh, guys, please,
let's not let it devolve into that. I mean, the
one thing I'm gonna say that sports does need well.

(04:17):
I don't see this. So there are rivalries Ohio State,
Michigan and All Duke North Carolina and college basketball, there's
a ton of rivalries when it comes to teams, obviously
all time Red Sox Yankees. I don't see rivalries anymore
between players because everybody are BFFs. And the one thing

(04:39):
that I want to just inject into my veins and
I love is the fact that Caitlin Clark and Angel
Reese right now are doing something that Larry Bird and
Magic Johnson did forty years ago, and they've got the
entire Did you know that game on Saturday outrated Sunday

(05:01):
Night Baseball between the Mets and Yankees for Juan Soto's
return to the Bronx to face his former team, the Bombers,
And so when you're out and granted baseball is not
rating highly nationally, it does more on a local level
than it actually does better than the NBA. And I

(05:22):
read studies on this which I was pretty surprised about.
The Cubs outray the Bulls, the outright the Bulls, the
Red Sox outright the Celtics, which I'm surprised about as well,
but they do. And plus there are more games too.
You've got one hundred and sixty two of them as
opposed to eighty two of them. The entire world of
sports right now needs to look at Cake Lynn Clark

(05:44):
and Angel Reese. Do if you're Roger Goodell, Gary Bettman,
Rob Nanford, and you need to look at what this
whole thing is going on right now, and you need
to say, oh, of course, Adam's and you need to
look at this and say, how do we get something

(06:07):
so powerful that two point seven million people are gonna
view on a Saturday afternoon just because they want to
see Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese. And it delivered. It delivered,
And we don't have that in pro sports anymore. Yeah,
Jalen Rowe, I mean, Jalen Hurtz doesn't hate Patrick Mahomes

(06:28):
and vice versa. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson don't hate
each other. I need that in the NBA. I want
that in the NBA. But everybody are friends with each other.
And I wish it was like a little bit like
the old days where you knew that, you know, going
back to the Seahawks days when they played their games
at the King Dome back in the eighties. You hated

(06:49):
the Oakland slash Los Angeles Raiders when the Raiders came
to town. Yeah, it was war and you wanted to
take all you wanted Kenny easily to take off Cliff
Branch's head, or you know, just basically burry Marcus Allen
when he tried when he jumps over the pile. And

(07:11):
that's another thing too. I'm not getting there, but why
don't more players do what Marcus Allen did? Or he
jumps over the pile. He didn't have to do it.
There was no such thing as a touch pushback then.
He didn't need to. He basically lifted off and jumped
over the entire team's defense. So Angel Reeves, Caitlin Clark,
I want to thank both of you, and I want
to tell you you are you were making the WNBA

(07:34):
and it is going up further and further. Now, how
can they do that with with other women? These two
come into the league, and they come in from college
having been rivals when Angel Reese was at LSU and
Katelon Clark was at Iowa. We need this, oh, we
need it so bad in pro sports. And I don't
see it. I mean, yeah, there are certain teams that

(07:56):
you know, that's fine that they You know that Nicks
and the Pacers have no love lock. But it's not
John Stark's head budding, Reggie Miller in his nose. You
know that. I've seen eighty five times since the Knicks
clinched the semi finals last week against the Celtics. We
are not seeing that, you know, and I want it.

(08:18):
I want it. Why why can't we see this anymore?
Why can we see this anymore?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
New generation? Yeah, they grew up playing AAU ball, so
back in the day. I don't know if there was
AAU ball like that. The only time during the summer,
you were just training on your own, or maybe you
were going five on five at a local gym. You
weren't joining forces with a lot of the people that
you play against in the NBA. But with AAU you
now play with these guys a little more often. You

(08:44):
build a relationship. Yeah, I see you because you know
you played for the Pays. I played for the Knicks.
But we grew up doing AAU in high school. Yeah,
we were dominated. They can go to different colleges, we
might play again each other, but we still hang out afterward.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
We're still buddy, buddy. Yeah, And they go to Steph's
camp and Nike and they compete, but it's.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Not to a level where I hate your guts right now.
Right now, they might be like, yeah, I don't like
you on the court, but it's not that I can't
stand you. No.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Everybody wants to make sure that everybody gets paid, and
that's cool. I'm all for it. But and here's the
thing too, Why I compare this to Magic and Bird
because Magic and Bird faced each other way before my
time in the national title game. Your time? What you mean, man,
I know, I know it was before my time. And
that was in nineteen seventy nine. Bird and Magic faced

(09:33):
each other in the National Championship in college basketball was
Indiana State versus Michigan State. Magic won. So going into
the NBA that you had that and prior to Bird
and Magic. Actually, let me just say this, when Bird
and Magic came into the NBA, when the Lakers in
Kareem Abdul Jabbar goes down in nineteen eighty against the

(09:56):
Sixers and Magic fills in at center and they win
the title. Magic's rookie year that was on tape delay,
and I think the following year when Bird and the
Celtics beat the Houston Rockets, that was on tape delay.
And then they said, Okay, something's brewing here. We need
to get this on live national TV at eight o'clock

(10:17):
Eastern time, five o'clock West Coast time and do this
the right way, and they put it on CBS, and
it was it was just must see TV. And it
didn't matter if you lived like me up in New
England because I'm not a Celtics fan, or you lived
in la and I know everybody here hate the Lakers too,
or you lived in Seattle, or you lived near a
cornfield in Iowa or Nebraska. Everybody had an opinion on

(10:40):
the Celtics and Lakers, and everybody wanted to watch. I'm
hoping that Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky will end
up being one of the better teams and the fact
that they will be able to go up against Caitlin
Clark and the Indiana Fever and that's what you want
to see and so but right now, you know it's

(11:01):
not that way. Chicago Sky. I mean, I mean, they've
only played one game and they lost it, but we
need to see them obviously want to see the Storm win.
I mean, that's our team, They're on our station. But
I just wish we had that more in sports to
where man, I hate that, you know what. I hate
that guy. I hate her, and it just makes everything

(11:21):
so much better. It just does the Bulls and Pistons.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
I guess the closest thing modern day would be what
we saw with Giannis and the Pacers. They really don't
like each other. I don't know if they hate each other,
but they really and even matter of fact, Matherine getting
into it with against Boston, who was it.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
To get in that win? Oh my goodness, Why am
I drawing a blank?

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Maybe it wasn't. I forget who it was. But Mathurin
has gotten to a couple of ms. Yeah what's his name?
I know that, Benedict math But who get it? Who'd
he get in with? Who was the issue? I forget
who it was?

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, I know, I know what you mean on the top.
I know we need that.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
From Superstars, and I just I think there's just too
much I've played with this guy, right, it was just
the Calves.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Why am I doing to blank?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
They were going at it. YE was like, oh this,
this is this is real life. I don't like you, bro, Like,
I'm not here for that. You're not seeing that as much,
And I think it has to do with the AAU
and just how things are nowadays. You can't really be
demonstrative on the court because now everything to tech. You
dunk on somebody and you flex, you get a technical foul.
You can't even really react anymore because now you're gonna

(12:32):
penalize your teammates. Draymond Green gets introll for just screaming
at folks. Now we know he has a history. But
my bigger point is it's just a league now where
you do anything that is a little hey, you're gonna
get a tech. You're gonna hurt your team. So you
can't even have that type of attitude. You're hurting your
team now.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Oras Back in the day, you punch you guys, all right,
go to the line.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah, and that's it common foul play on Yeah, there's
ten minutes at the monitor.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Did Mark James was that forceful content to the next Yes?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
No?

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Maybe, so we need to still look.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
At it, have you.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
There's been so many documentaries on the Celtics and Lakers,
and you probably watched the show Winning Time with Johnsy.
Oh my god, how great was that show? Oh and
the dude Quincy Isaiah Quincy or Quincy Isaiah. Oh my god,
he nailed magic. He nailed them perfectly. He was so
good at that show. But and if you've seen it,
if you're watch any Celtics Lakers, you can YouTube it.

(13:28):
The Celtics are gonna lose the eighty four finals apparently,
and Kevin McHale just decided that I need to stir
our team up. He goes, comes down the paint and
as Kurt Rambus is going in for a dunk, McHale
literally does a Road Warriors talking wrestling here clothesline on

(13:50):
Kurt Rambis. He goes down, it is on Kareem loses
his you know what. And that play was the complete
turning point in that series because after that, all the
Lakers wanted to do was fight the Celtics, and the
Celtics got in their heads. It changed the series and
the Celtics ended up winning that in Game seven back

(14:11):
at the Boston Gadden at that time, Oh, it was
just epic. That was Oh, that show was so good.
That show was just brilliant. And John c Riley is
one of the most underrated actors, underrated actors in the
entire world, the entire world.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah, I wish it got another season, but it is
what it is. But back to the rivalry thing, I
just think it's it's tough nowadays. You really can't and
the whole Kaitlyn Clark and Andrew Reese. I'm pretty sure
they might be texting for all we know. But the
media does such a Oh yeah, they do such a
job on painting these two athletes. You hear Kaitlin Clark

(14:50):
talk about it. Kaitlin don't even really care. She out
there to who and she'll answer your questions. Andrew reaes
kind of the same way. But these two, they're just
they're playing basketball. And sometimes when you get competitive, you
do things. I'm sure Mark, when you play at a sport,
things got a little competitive.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Maybe you did say things got competitive when we argued
sports too, right, you know what I mean? Like, you know,
back with my friends at you know, in a middle
school cafeteria, you want to go to blows because you're arguing,
like you knows the Red Sox suck. No, I just
disagree with your point exactly, and that's fine. I think
these two young ladies. They play their games two different ways.

(15:29):
One's in the post. One is doing any and everything,
shooting from the logo getting to the basket, creating for
her teammates.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
They just have a different way of doing things. And
they had One happened to be white, one happened to
be black. That is what it comes down to. And
they are both doing a phenomenal job of bringing that
sport tonto the.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Level they are.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
And I mean the fact that we're talking about it
tells you enough. Regause Off, people love watching the WNBA
or don't. It's the fact that everyone is talking about it,
and that's huge for the WNBA.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
It's huge. It's unbelievable. And from college to this, yeah,
it is. And I hope they can keep it up.
And I hope we start at main page Paige Becker's
and obviously the face of the league is Asia Wilson.
It's getting better. She's the best, absolutely the best. There's
no question about that. So the bottom line is that, uh,

(16:22):
this is great for sports. I like it. There are
racial overtones when it comes to it. Not a fan
of that. And when you know, Ryan Clark goes after
RG three and and questions his ethnicity because he's married
to a white woman and all, it's like, let's not
go there, guys, like even Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark
didn't even go there, and y'all are taking a rivalry

(16:45):
and you guys are taking it to another level. One
none of that had to do with the other. And
it's and RG three didn't say anything wrong. He just
said Angel Reese, I think Angel rees hates Caitlin Clark,
and I think that's a fair assessment. And then it
got out of hand and that's a whole nother bleep storm.
But I want it. I want to continue to see it,
and I want the WNBA to be great, and I

(17:08):
hope the Seattle Storm will be one of the best
teams in the NBA so we can root them on
as well, you know, so that'd be great. And it's
it sucks that I don't think Angel Reese doesn't come
in here until August, and I think Caitlyn Clark comes
in here next month to play. The Storm gonna draw crowd. Yeah, Oh,
it's going to be huge, no doubt about. Hey, Bookers,

(17:29):
She's gonna draw a crowd. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
There there's a lot of talent in the WNBA, and
it's only going to get better. Young girls are seeing this.
I want to do that too, and they can't.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
So oh they can, They definitely can. It's gonna be
fun to see how the game continues to grow. Yep,
Page Packers, she's one of She's gonna be a great player.
He's not in the level of Kitlyn Clark yet, She'll
get there one day. All right, what do you say?
Text of the day four nine, four five to one,
coming up next right here on mj in the Midday
Sports Radio ninety three to three kJ r.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
FM, jesting live from the and Our Foundation Specialist broadcast studio.
Now back to mj let Midday on your home for
the Huskies, K and Sounders Sports Radio ninety three point
three kJ r FM.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Hright, your first day back, Christopher Kid lead us off. Oh,
I was expecting that, but.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
You gotta do it, man. All Right, we're talking a
lot about the NBA. So what that being said, let's
be to text regard name of you. What do you say, Mark?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
That's to it, man, whatever text do you want to read?
All right, here we go.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
This is from the two five to three. I feel
like the Legion of Boom hated the Niners trying with
your sorry receiver, like Crabtree, That is an example of
a rivalry two different sports.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Love it to your point, that is a It still
is a rivalry.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yeah, I mean it's it's different because the players have changed,
but there's still that we got to beat the Niners
and now gotta be the Seahawks. They're still that. They
go out there and they try to rip each to
his head off every game, and they dab each other
up afterwards. You know, a couple of guys are cool
with one another on the sidelines, but those teams, yeah,
when they line up against one another, it is I
want to make you hurt the most.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I'm gonna do everything in my power to do so. Yeah,
And like I said, the teams, but I like it
when there's some indivent and Sherman made it about him
versus Crabtree, which is what I like, which is great.
I mean, the Niners and Seahawks will always hate each
other and vice versa, and probably Seahawks and Rams. We
got that, but but Sherman took it to a level
of like, yeah, this is him versus me. You don't

(19:39):
ever try to You know the thing I never understood
about this, and you guys are probably exhausted, but I
never got to talk about this on Seattle airwaves. Why
did Fox cut away from it? He didn't swear.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Because Shady was getting very uncomfortable and they saw it
on our face.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
She didn't know.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
She had never probably been in a situation where a
player is that demonstrative toward another player in an interview Aaron,
And it wasn't like he was yelling at her, but
at the same time you could tell she's like, oh, oh,
this is there's a little beef. Do I need to
step away? Is he behind me? So they were like,
go ahead and cut that camera. It's getting real out there.
So she was I don't know if she's ever said

(20:17):
anything about it, but yeah, well.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
She interviewed Sherman later as Sherman joined Fox and she
interviewed him, they talked about it. Do you remember what
she said? Yeah, she just I remember, but she said
in the moment, she kind of yeah, what you said,
she froze. He's like, back to you, Joe. Yeah, that
was a moment.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
It was cool for everyone to see, my lord, but
that's sorry. I would probably like is he right behind me?
Are you gonna someone swinging?

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Like?

Speaker 2 (20:41):
What's going on? That's scary on the field?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Out Do you win like that? Okay, back to you.
I love Richard Sherman. Oh god, I always loved him.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
I liked more.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I liked Richard Sherman Seattle because that was prime Sherman. Well.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Shout out to John Schneider for saying, oh, you tore
your achilles. We're not gonna keep you, brother. You for
your service, though, I'm not gonna pay you that much.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Actually that's how it works though, right. Oh yeah, I
mean that's that's just been Tyler Lock.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Every Seahawk that has been really good with the franchise,
it doesn't end well unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Yeah yeah. How about this? Uh that some people are
just really all over Angel rece Man, how about this?
You're hilarious from the two five three. You were literally
the first person I've heard that likes Angel Reese. No joke.

(21:35):
She's a bum. She sucks and talks too much crap
and doesn't back it up. You aren't good if you
brick half your shots and get some of your rebounds.
I like Angel Reese, sue me. What are you gonna say?
I like her and I I yeah, but I mean
not well, just I like her. I like her style,
like her swag. I just there's something about her that
just she's she's got the IT factor, and so doesn't Caitlyn.

(21:58):
I like them both, and I just want to see
it elevate the WNBA because right now, Angel, I know
you're talking. I get it. You know, these player contracts
to get are joke. But if you want to get
that SGA money you got, you need a lot. You
gotta basically clone Angel Reese and Catlyn Clark. We gotta
clone that and put it around the league and get everybody.

(22:19):
And that's awesome, man. And the league has gotten so
much better since the days of Lisa Leslie and Ryl Swoops.
The league is better now, just like the NBA is
better now. I mean, the the talent always goes up
like unfortunately, like death and taxes, the talent skill level dark.
Nikola Jokic is the most talented player I've ever seen

(22:41):
in NBA history at his size. Nobody and Joe Embiid
when he plays, is not that far behind. He's not
that far. I've never seen big men that can do
what those guys do. That is insane. No disrespect to
my man, Patrick Ewing and Akeem Olajuan and David Robinson
and Shack. Shack was the most dominating player I've ever

(23:03):
seen in the prime of his career. There was nobody
like prime. Shack was just like, get out of the way.
But none of those guys, if you'll get your embiid.
Took them out to the to the perimeter beyond twenty
three and a half feet. What are those guys gonna do?
And those guys put the ball on the floor like
a point guard and drive to the hoop right by them.

(23:23):
They couldn't. They wouldn't have been able to stay with
any of it, Like you'll catch an embiid. This is
like you are watching anomalies. These are unicorns, literal unicorns.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
This next one comes from the eight four to three.
If we are talking rivalries, wait until the thunder come
to Seattle for the first time.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Oh, oh, by the way, better get to sing. You
better get the national guard on that day. Oh yeah,
it's going to be crazy. Oh boy. Twenty twenty seven,
twenty twenty eight season. We can all hope and pray,
We can all hope and pray and oh man. This Yeah,

(24:05):
that's that's crazy. All right, dude, to do some of
these I'd like to read, but I can't. All right, Uh,
trying to go, you go. He is right, the tush
push is an abomin nation.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
And Marcus chimed in tush push. Tush push also helped
me with a seven or eight Anytime TV parlay and
my biggest winning bet to date. There you go, Marcus,
That's what I'm talking about. This is from Garrett. I believe.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
I'm so oh, I'm saying all right, mister Ayers aunt
man plus two hundred at thirty points. Question, Mark, what
do you say?

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Mark? He could? He should? I feel much better over
twenty five and a half to twenty six thirty. It's
a tall ass. But he was balling. I think he
had like fourteen points in the first quarter. He should
have eased into thirty. The last game and he had
zero points and winning time. You can't do that. You

(25:03):
can't do that, man, That's just you know, not like
you get You're too good of a player're too great
of a player to show up. But if you want
to get that SGA largest contract in NBA history, money
that's waiting for him in the summer of twenty twenty six.
You gotta show up, man, you gotta show the bleep up.

(25:25):
Let's see her. Everyone is effing crazy from the two
oh six. How are you gonna let flag football in
the Olympics before you figure out a tournament for the
real thing. Pretty soon we're gonna be having beers watching
men in track shorts with flags hanging off their asses.

(25:45):
That was funny, I will say it's funny.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
It's very entertaining and fun because you're seeing freakisly athletic
human beings play football and you have the pool flags. Now,
I'm not sitting here stands better than tackle football, because
I don't think it is. But my goodness, playing flag
football is not for the week pulling somebody trying.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
To do You got to be a great athlete to
do that. And yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Four players who I want to represent the United States
excluding the quarterback, so I want wide receivers and dbs.
I'll take Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, DJ Reed at corner.
I'll tak another corner later. But those those are three
players right there that I would say signing up. The
reason I like DJ Reid because he's not six', three

(26:28):
and he could probably guard a lot of the corners
that wide receivers are gonna be playing in This olympic style.
Tournament they're not gonna be six to. FIVE i think
it'd be rare to see a guy that big trying
to do flag. Football it's just not that, physical so
you wouldn't need. That you're gonna have a lot more,
quicker faster guys like The, cheetah The Cheetah Tyreek king,
exactly so that you'd want to Match you don't want.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
To did you Mention Xavior?

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Worthy, no but he's a fine picks, combine he's a
fine pick as, Well BUT i wouldn't take him Over
justin Or. Tyreek, yeah that's WHERE i. Stand justin is
one of the best outrunners and the best receiver in the.
League SO i know he's going to get. Open, YEAH
i JUST i would love to see.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
That how about this a couple of things, Here Angel
reese brought all this crap on herself end quote another
one From jeff from the TWO i. Six, okay But
bird And magic were, friends the supporting crews say to each. Other,
jeff they they became friends after they battled in the.
Finals but when they first came the, league they were,

(27:27):
rivals they were, enemies and then they became. FRIENDS i
believe when And i've watched so many, documentaries it's all
jumbled in my. Head when they were shooting A converse
commercial and they had to go To French, Lick, Indiana
Larry bird's, hometown And bird And, Magic magic did And

(27:50):
magic won Over Larry bird's mom and after That bird
had To then they became. Boys after, THAT i thought
that was a cool. STORY i thought that was a
really cool. Story, hey one more, thing don't. Forget this
Is Military Appreciation. Months ninety three three KGr fm wants
to remind you About may Being Military Appreciation. Month in
honor of, that we want to hear from those who

(28:11):

(28:31):
app in ninety three to THREE kJ are hit that
little microphone icon on the app tell us about you
or a family. Member all day, tomorrow we're gonna be
recognizing those in our community who have served our. Country
AND i think all of you appreciate. That the mayor cross.
Talk he, will he will school me ON i have

(28:53):
to ADMIT i have to eat my crow On Stuart
skinner and The Edmonton. Oilers boy did, They oh boy
did they choke a big one last. Night we'll talk
To Ian furness next right here On Sports radio ninety
three to THREE. Kjrff, okay thank you very much Of
humillan for coming on. TODAY i just want to answer one.

(29:15):
Thing this is a late text of the text on
WHICH us player outside of ant do you think is
the best chance to win the NEXT. Mvp the last
seven years have been all NON us, players and you've
got guys Like wemby coming up In, Joker, Sga giannis
And lucas still. Around, yeah that's a great. Point SO
i had to think. HARD i came up With, Donovan,
Mitchell Jalen, brunson And i'm gonna Throw haliburton if he

(29:37):
elevates his. GAME i mean he does.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
It in the.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Playoffs if you can do in the regular season where
it means. Less you, know that's the thing About. Mitchell
mitchell can't do it in the, postseason but he does
it in the regular. Season Spider, Man, Yes Ian furness
is coming up. NEXT a lot of s is? There
what happened to The Edmonton oilers with a three one

(30:00):
lead And i'm watching The Knicks Pacers mayor AND i
turned back and they're down five? Three what?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
HAPPENED i WISH i KNEW i was playing.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
Golf, OKAY i got in enough to watch when it
was five?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Three?

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Yes or Was?

Speaker 5 (30:19):
YEAH i earn a four to? THREE i got. It,
yeah it was four to Three dallas.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
WHEN i got.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
In and then two empty, netters, right so, yeah, yeah
one empty.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Netter so that's ALL i.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Saw it sounds Like i'm just you know, What i'm
sitting here at The Cracking community Ice, plex and.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Let me. LOOK i think was it power? Plays? Right?

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Yeah Tyler sagan killed. Them he was tough all.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Night he JUST i would just, say It's Stuart, Skinner,
yeah you nail watching without watching the.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Game, yep you're.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
RIGHT i would, say although it's interesting, numbers this is
the looking at a box, score whether it's, baseball basketball or,
hockey sometimes hard right to actually decipher. Anything So skinner
let in two goals even, strength but he he faced
four shots on the power play and let in three.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Goals oh that's.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
That that to, ME i guess would be it right
because it was power. PLAY i, mean, yeah that's. IT
i mean they were three for Four dallas in the power.
Play that's, yeah that was probably this might be a.
GAME i don't even look at tape or watch the
game or watch what. HAPPENED i think it can probably
just look and, say, hey three for four in the power. Play,
Yeah or if You're, edmonton we were one for four
in the penalty. Kill you aren't going to win any

(31:36):
games like that, Now like you just. Aren't and you
know they got out shot pretty good in the second
in the third, period and, uh and it's, god it's
just superstars and and top players in the playoffs no
matter what, SPORT nba or or even THE, nhl they
got to come. Up And edmonton has, them but they
don't have him in. Goal AND i Think picker would

(31:57):
be playing right now if he wasn't. Hurt and that's
unfortunate because it's might this series might go quick If
stuart Can't skinner can't stop a beach ball from center.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Ice.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Cracking community, ice. Plax i'm Oping picker again come back
because if they if he, doesn't doesn't look like they
have a.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
Shot, NO i mean you gotta stop a, puck.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Right, yeah, yeah that? Help that, helps?

Speaker 3 (32:15):
RIGHT i mean that was that was the whole issue
With grubauer this year with the.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
Crack AND i mean YOU i think they HAD i
think the number was and And i'm off by one
or two on either, side but you get the. Point
they picked up seventeen of a possible fifty seven points
in his starts this year For. Grubauer and you, know
like wins and losses for goaltenders kind of sometimes mean
the same as for a. Pitcher BUT i Think i'd

(32:38):
put more stock in a wins loss record for a
goalie and hockey THAN i would for a pitcher in.
Baseball felix in the Saw young BUT i think that
those numbers take the take the wins and losses out just.
POINTS i, mean you had fifty seven or so points
possible in his, starts and you gave it and you
got SEVENTEEN i, mean you left forty points on the.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Table that's, yeah that's just you.

Speaker 5 (32:58):
Can't you're not gonna go to the playoffs and you're not.
WIN i mean if your backup and he kind of
wasn't the backup until midway through the. Year joey kind
of took over and took the ball and ran with.
It you guys talk talk flag football today With. Chris
i'm sure he's all fired up for The. Olympics, yeah
a little. Bit, yeah he's gonna play THE us against
THE us.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
The hell, Right he's, Right. CHRIS i, mean come, ON
i will admit there are some teams out there.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
They stop, it stop.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
IT i THINK i think The americans would, Win, yes
but you think, SO i, know uh not You, brazil
But mexico they have a team and when they played
the what was, IT i want to say two years,
ago they had THE nfl partnering with flag. Football they
had a team and THE us barely. Won, now obviously

(33:48):
they didn't have but they had guys that represented The
United states that might have played college football whatever the
case may, be or they play quote unquote professional flag,
football and they held their.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
Own so you go out right now and find Whoever
Dumont williams third string backup is that you dub four
receivers that are gonna not play at all this, season
and they beat anybody's ass in the rest of the.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Country come, on.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
There's NOT i don't, know come in the, country in the. Country, no, no,
no in the.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
World because it's first of, all it's not.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
FOOTBALL i THINK i hate when they call it fight.
Football it's not.

Speaker 5 (34:22):
Football football has like, tackling, blocking like the. Elements the
best thing about football is everybody can. Play if you're
a big, guy there's a place for. You if you're
a small, guy there's a place for. It if you're
a fast, guy there's a place for. You if you've
got a Canada an, arm there's a place for. You
that's what's great about. Football fight football is just a skills.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
COMPETENT i think YOU'D i think if you went To
canada and they said here's our best, PLAYERS i think
you'd be.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
SURPRISED cfl guys or he was off the street From,
Burnaby British.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
COLUMBIA i think dudes off the street or a combination of,
us whatever lead they got.

Speaker 5 (34:52):
GOING i think it's, funny like just you know What
petro said it best. Yesterday you know, what let's go
back to throwing the javel and running track with The olympics, Too, yes,
yes break dancing and seven on seven flag football is
just that's not the.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
AD i, KNOW i. Know and by the, way did
you see you know the prop That Roger goodell U'sed
Justin jefferson who's, saying, oh it's my dreaming when a, Goal, hey,
justin get on the wild card, weekend get past wildcard.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
Weekend how about how about, LIKE i don't, know well
what the odd thing in all, Seriousness chris like and
and and like there's a place for. IT i get,
it BUT i think it's a place is the training
part for at least for real. Football but you, know
one of the things is interesting is they got rid
of women's fast pitch softball a few years. Ago they
brought it back right since, then but they got rid of.

(35:38):
It and one of the reasons they got rid of
it is because there was two teams that were. Good
there were two teams good at, IT us And. Canada you,
Know Daniel, lorie FORMER uf, pitcher was just. Dominant you,
Know Jenny finch whoever was pitching that week for that
year for THE. Us but it was like those two
teams and nobody, else and it never. Grew the sport never,
grew and they got rid of it because it was
just like it was a two team race and then
someone's gonna get the, bronze just like you, know the

(36:00):
tallest short person is gonna get the.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Bronze that's.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Great let me ask you, this mayor what's what's more
of a challenge being good at catching a football and
running or being good at softball fast.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Pitch excuse, me all fast pitch by the, time, Exactly SO.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
I think football you have an opportunity to find more
guys or girls that are talented enough too to.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
Compete it's a push by THE, nfl and it's a
month for THE, nfl and that's all it.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Is it's not a real. Competition it's.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
Not it's it just isn't like makes like the break dancing,
thing like come, on throw a, javelin run the, relay
go do some you, know water. Polo let's play the, discus,
yeah chuck a shot put, around, yeah you, know and
then you know, what we'll all do what we want to.
Do we'll watch the women's up because because men's soccer
and The olympics is worth. Less it's you twenty, three

(36:43):
it's not even the best players women's. Soccer it's. Awesome
and let's be, honest what are we watching? Basketball, yeah
The olympics come.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Up, well and well winter hockey docky's the Greatest olympic.

Speaker 5 (36:55):
Sport, well now that THE nhl guys are back next,
year Next, february it's it's great as far as it's
far as The, olympics The Summer. OLYMPICS i, mean is
that the one good thing with basketball IS i think
we'd all agree on, this, Right, chris is that you guys
are talking ABOUT. MVPs is that with with men's basketball
now it's not a given that THE nba or that
The west is gonna win with all these great players

(37:17):
elsewhere across the. World which IS i mean basketball is
truly global, now like really very that makes it. Fine,
HELL i mean there's times we root against the MOM
i should say, this but when depends on who's on the,
TEAM i think that's. FAIR i think that's. FAIR i
think certain guys won't be. There they'd be a little
more likable team coming.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Up, right this next.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Roue, Hey, ian real, quick coming up on your. Show
what do you?

Speaker 5 (37:38):
Got we've Got Ino sarrus is going to join us
from The Athletic he's our baseball, writer brought to By Georgetown.
Brewing we'll talk to him About George kirby, returning are The?
Mariners is this thing sustainable? Offensively his thoughts On julio
and the. Pitching the strike zone is different this year
and and why is that and how is that effected the.
Game we'll talk To eno coming up at one. Twenty

(37:59):
Then Corbyn's smith coming up at one o'clock or two o'clock.
Today we'll go through all THE nfl, changes are non, changes, push,
push et, cetera scheduling and all that fun stuff with
him at two o'clock.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Today looking forward to hearing that always The mayor coming
up next live from The Cracking community Ice. Plex can't
wait for. That And, chris great job out of you.
