Speaker 1 (00:01):
I drove over to the Kirk Cobain house on Lake Washington. Yep, yep,
But that was just so. I met a nice family
who were there before me from Vancouver. They were visiting
the bench and I asked them, I said, hey, do
you mind taking a picture of me on the bench
(00:23):
and they said, no problem. So here's where it gets interesting.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Now. Let me just tell you that is the nicest
area in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Bellevue's great Bellevue's that whole Lake Washington drip. I'm like,
whoa jaw drop? That is the less than one percent.
That is like, you have to have bleep you money
to be living in that area. So that is absolutely
amazing area. Love that area. It was a beautiful day
(00:52):
on Sunday, right before the Knicks Pacers game, so I
hung out a little bit after the family. The family
left and they started walking. They took a left and
they started walking down. I hung out a little bit
(01:13):
and then after I you know, got my phil and
you know, you said, my my did my ode to
mister Cobain, the late great Kirk Cobain, the guy who
started a revolution. The guy wasn't just a this guy
absolutely was one of the greatest pioneers in music history.
And he he comes from this area, Washington State. I know, Aberdeen,
(01:37):
it's not Seattle, but regardless, he started the Seattle sound
as they call it, right Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alison James.
So I've got nothing but like when I I'm the
type of guy that if I get pulled over speeding
when smells like teen Spirit comes on in Seattle, I'm
(01:58):
just gonna be like, you know what, blame the race
for playing that song while I'm in Seattle. You just
you know what I mean. It's like when you're in
Miami and you hear Rick Ross come on.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
It's just like, that's it. That's it.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
You know, Triple Figures on ninety five, yup, get pulled
over by Florida State's finest then, so be it.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
So I noticed when.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
The family takes the left and goes down this hill,
they come back pretty quickly like they had just seen ghosts.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
So I decide to go down the hill. I said, oh,
you know, I got some time to kill.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I'll be home in time before the tip off. Let
me see what's going on there. And I'm going down
the hill towards Dean Blaney Park and let's just say, no,
I don't have virgin eyes. Okay, these eyes have seen
some ish in my lifetime. I did not expect that.
(03:02):
I did not, No, No, it was just the actual
I didn't see any looted lacevius acts. I just saw
people naked and I did not expect that full of
mantes you know, everywhere. And I'm like, text Line, you know,
I rely on you. I really do. Y'all are the
reason that you know we're we're able, and thank God,
(03:24):
our good buddy Patrick Shanahan from Donovan's Provision in Delhi
boor said he'll be dropping off some awesome subs tomorrow,
you know, text Line, you know, if I was going
down I've never been to.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
I really have never been.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
There's this newdest resort down in Florida called Caliente. It's
somewhat between Tampa and Orlando. I've never been, but I
know a lot of people who have. I literally never been.
If you go there, you expect that. I did not
expect what I saw after going to pay my respects
to the Great Kurk Cobain, and I'm like, wow, I
(04:07):
thought I was in a I thought I was in
the middle of a live porno. It was like whoa, so,
y'all gotta kind of warm me on this stuff. And
there was these four young women, probably in their mid
twenties who are from South Seattle. They born and raised here.
We were the only ones wearing clothes. So I turned
(04:29):
to them and I said, well, it looks like apparently
we're the where the squares here. We're the only ones
wearing clothes, so what's what's up with this place? Go oh, yeah,
we've never been here, but we wanted to check it
out and said, yeah, yeah, it's just not It's one
of those things like if you were expecting it, it's
no big deal, right, you don't. I didn't expect it,
(04:52):
didn't expect it at all. And I'm like wow. So
then I get home and I you too, Dean Blaney Park,
and I see a news story that comes up with
Chris Daniels from Como and he was talking about there's
a situation going on where the locals and are are
(05:15):
trying to get that. But wow, all I can say
is triple wow. You ever been a Dean Blaney Park kid?
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Negative?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay, yeah, yeah? Yanny nieces or nephews, young nieces or nephews.
I do, but yeah, you don't bring them there, not
in our bag. Okay, yeah, yeah, we like clothes. Yeah yeah, yeah, kid.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
I don't need to be one with the spirit. That's
funny you mentioned that because it's funny you bring that up.
You know who liver King is, right?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Oh? I watched it.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Yeah he's over here killing cows and being one with
earth walking barefoot. I'm just like, this dude is living
his best life. But that's not for me.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
But that's in his own property mostly a lot of times.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
But even then, Mark, I'm not walking barefoot on my
own property. I'm wearing shoes me too. Yeah. So, but
good for him.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah, he's one with nature, just as the folks at
what's the name of this park.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Dean Dean Blameey Park?
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Did he Blainey?
Speaker 5 (06:14):
No?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
No, a Dean Blameey Park.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Oh okay anywhere?
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, yes, I will not be pulling up checking out.
I am good if I want to see you know what,
I'm just leave it alone. But hey, shout out to
all those I'm sure we have listeners that partaking that.
So salute to y'all for being comfortable in your skin
and going out there and showing the goods.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Hey, you know what if the county allows it, which
apparently they do right now, you do.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
I just didn't expect it. I didn't expect that.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
When you said you saw people go down there, oh.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
And they turned around like they saw and by the way,
the kids that they the kids that they had were
like seventeen and fourteen okay of age, Uh no, not
of age just.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
I mean, I mean fourteen age and but sure enough
to see. Oh, we probably don't want to be here.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
I don't think that my father wanted his fourteen year
old daughter to see what they saw when they walked
down there. I'll just leave it at that. And I
was like, okay, well there you go. All right, let's
pivot that that. Yeah, so when they can and then
it hit me, I'm like, no, wonder why they turned
around and and they like like they would literally saw
(07:21):
a ghost, and I'm like, wow, but it was an
interesting thing to see. Nonetheless, I will never forget. You know,
my first and probably last time going to Dean Blainey Park.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Is probably you're interested.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Oh no, no, it would be my last time.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I was just saying, probably just to you know, no,
I don't know, no, just just to basically you know,
I'm not going back there. But it's literally like with it,
like pretty much Caddy Corner across the street from the
Kirk Kobab.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
See girls, I can go to a club pay twenty and.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
I was just gonna see it's fine, But but you
don't just see.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
New girls, dude, They're a full Monty's on display.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
At Like, you know, that's what I'm saying. There were
more of them than there were girls, you know what
I mean. Right, So there you go. So I felt
like I need to hit the Lady Strip Club. Unfortunately,
the Knicks Pacers game was beginning, so I had to
go home and I needed to take a couple of showers.
Denny Blaine Park, Yeah, Denny Blaine Park, my bad.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
So oh man, uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Hey Mark, I know you're a big Kirk Cobain fan,
but when you get a chance, you should go out
to Home National Cemetery in Maple Valley. It's a beautiful
place where nation's heroes have been laid to rest. This
area is really nice, too, great to place to spend
Memorial Day and not ites a little late, but it's
never too late to give thanks. I have multiple family
members buried. Dare hope you're enjoying your weekend. Yes, Denny
(08:46):
Blaine Park, Denny Blaine Park. That is that is it?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (08:52):
It was an eye opener for me. That was an
eye opener. I did not expect that one. M well, well, well,
so with that being said, did you have a great weekend?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Kid?
Speaker 4 (09:07):
I did man good for you. We got back some
football freaking finally. You know, it felt good being out there.
We got our teeth kicked in, but that's not for
it is what it is. It was just good being outside.
It was a beautiful morning.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Oh okay, so you play some uh yeah, pick up
flag football ice.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
We just do it on the football.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
So it's been felt good being out there. Sam was
shining and this is what anybody wants. I want to
play out there when it's warm. Yep, no one wants
to be outside when a thirty degrees and I see everywhere.
But great weekend with the wife as well.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I have to tell you I got back here on
April thirteenth from Vegas. This has been the nicest stretch
of weather I've ever had in my entire life since
April three. Well, no, no, no, no, Tomorrow it's gonna
get a little too. Now you're gonna be like what
you just came from Florida. Tomorrow it's gonna get like
or like mid eighties. I I like it the what
(09:59):
we've had the last seven weeks. I don't want the eighties.
Now it's gonna be one day tomorrow the eighties and
then okay, then it's gonna get back to normal. But
I am telling you, I love I think there's I
think Seattle has put this thing out there of having
bad weather to deter people from moving here. But it
really has great weather. Because the last seven weeks have
(10:20):
been the nicest stretch of weather. Windows have been cracked
the entire time. Absolutely beautiful fall football weather. You can't
beat it. I'll take this weather any day of the
week over you know, any type of weather that you
would be getting down south right now that when you
walk outside you can't breathe and you're sweating or you
know what.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Off.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
So I don't want that. That's not what I want.
All right, Let's get to the matters at hand.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
The Mariners.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
The Mariners took it on the chin losing three out
of four. And I don't give a crap what the
name of the park is. It's always going to be
Minute made. It's Minute made park. I don't care what
they're calling out. I've never heard of that brand. Will
always be minute made. It's been minute made.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Let me ask you question. Who owns the Seattle Seahawks
Rams Oh no, no, no, but like just yea yea yeah,
yeah yeah yeah, you just saw me, yeah yeah yeah.
Who owns the Seattle Seahawks, Like, you know, yeah, like
it's they're owned by the Allen Trust. Jody out she
(11:27):
owns the Mariners. She owns the Seahawks. Right now, right
the Seattle Kraken have a group called Seattle Hockey Partners.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Todd, like wiki is the man. He's the guy.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
He was the guy who hired Pete Carroll. He was
the guy who brought the crack into Seattle. He's the
guy that's gonna someday We all hope Todd that you're
gonna bring the Sonics back to Seattle.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
This guy's the man.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
He is the man in Seattle sports for twenty plus years. Okay,
they used to be owned by David Bonderman, co founder.
He died at the age of eighty two two last December.
Do you know who owns the Seattle Mariners. It's not
John Stanton, It's the Houston Astros. The Houston Astros own
(12:13):
the Mariners. In these three losses, they were outscored sixteen
to four, sixteen to four, and so I decided, let
me go back. I want to go back to when
the Mariners started this come up in twenty seventeen, to
(12:37):
when they started to really They won their first World
Series in twenty seventeen, they won their second one in
twenty twenty two. The Mariners record versus the Houston Astros
since twenty seventeen, including the playoffs in twenty twenty two,
and including all the games up through Sunday, fifty four
(13:01):
in eighty seven, fifty four in eighty seven, for a
barely under thirty percent winning percentage fifty four and eighty
seven now the last two years, twenty twenty three in
twenty twenty four, the Mayor's got the best of Houston
those years. Other than that, it's been Houston owning this team.
(13:27):
And I have to tell you. We spoke to a
Houston sports talkost Sean Pendergast on Friday, I'm like, how
do they view the Mariners down there? Like, what do
they think about it? He's like, NA, they're not a rival.
They don't live view him as a rival at all,
like they do the Yankees or someone of that stature,
(13:49):
the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I'm like, yeah, I get why.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Now, I understand why. I it's just you're owned by them.
At the end of the day. You have to kind
of face that. And I'll tell you what if this
team comes down and there's one playoff spot open and
we go to that, you know, one hundred and sixty
third or wild card play in game, I don't have
(14:15):
confidence in this team to beat the Houston Astros. They
just own the Mariners, period, exclamation point, and never more
evident than this past weekend own them again. MS were
outscored sixteen to four in the three losses. They were
just absolutely horrific in this series. And I said, don't
(14:37):
worry about the standings. Standings. I mean, you're third way
through the season. But sometimes in life you have to
kind of like you said when I asked you who
owns the Seahawks and you said, the Rams kind of
do the Rams owe the Seahawks. The Astros own the Mariners.
That's just the way it is, and I wish it
wasn't like that. But even in the three game series
(15:00):
that was here at the beginning of April, where the
Mariners got off to a four and eight start, even
in that series, in the final game, in the rubber game,
after losing on a Tuesday night in extra innings the
(15:20):
day after, they get down five to nothing and it
took a Randy A Rozarina Grand Slam to come back
in that game. And it's just like, Houston owns them.
There's nothing you can say other than Houston owns this team,
period exclamation point. And it's too bad that they wasted
(15:45):
an amazing quality start from Luis Castillo, throwing six innings
in one hundred and fourteen pitches, striking out six and
allowing just three runs on nine hits, his best performance
of the season. He was hitting ninety six and a
half on the gun, one and a half miles per
(16:06):
hour above his season average. And I don't get it, man,
I don't get it. But they are owned by the Astros.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
AJ Hinch.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Might be gone, Joe Spotta doesn't matter, you know, they
continue to own this team. It just is what it is, man.
There's nothing that you can do about it, and until
they prove otherwise, and until they prove otherwise in a
situation where you can get it done when the season
(16:42):
is on the line. Astros have been there before. Seven
straight American League Championship Series seven seven. How many alcss
have the Mariners been to in their entire history?
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Uno?
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Uno one two thousand and one against the Yankees and
Derek Cheeter.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
That's it as far as I can think.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I don't think there was any other al Oh, nineteen
ninety five maybe did they make it ninety five?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah, so they've been to two.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
How about going to seven straight alcs's I mean, it's
just this is a team that there's just something that Yes,
they so they've been to two.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Well, let me just check this, MANK this is ALC. Yes,
I believe it was against Yes, Okay, I was right.
So they've been to two. It is what it is, man.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Sometimes you just have to accept facts. Those are facts.
The Astros own the Mariners period. Coming up next, Oh,
coming up at the top of the hour. This is
gonna be a fun interview. The rogue official from the
NBA Tim Donnihe can't wait to talk to him and
(18:05):
see what he has to say about the current status
of the NBA and so much more, as well as
Chelsea James, national Baseball reporter. We will talk to her
coming up at the top of the noon hour next though.
Ranking the top twenty five players under twenty five, Well,
(18:26):
any Seahawks land on the list find out next on
MJ in the Midday Sports Radio ninety three to three KJRFM.
I had a rough gambling weekend and I don't mind
telling you the pick that I gave out. If I'm
gonna play, we're gonna play the picks that you know,
we talk about when I win. I lost on Friday
on the Nicks minus five and a half that didn't
(18:49):
come through. They ended up winning on Sunday. I didn't
touch that game, but yeah, so there, uh it's yeah,
tough gambling weekend for me. And yesterday. Now, I just
freaking The refs in the NBA are just so pathetic.
(19:10):
It's just they're so bad. It's it's just unbelievable. I
don't even get me started. So PFF dot Com came
out with the top twenty five players under twenty five
years old. Number one, No surprise, the best off offensive
line win we might have seen in maybe decades. Piney
Sewell Number one, three year grade, ninety two point eight.
(19:32):
Just unbelievable, unbelievable. Second, this guy's a little high in
this list, but okay. Puka Nakua, all right? Number two, okay,
but he's got three year grade. You know he's ninety
two point five.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Fair enough.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Number three Kyle Hamilton former Mike McDonald safety with the
Baltimore Ravens. Number four, Jayden Daniels Washington Commanders. Now it's
this three year grade, but he only played one year,
but so it was the rookie of the year. But
his grade is ninety point six. I thought Jayden Daniels
should be higher than Puka Nikua, but okay, it's not
(20:13):
my list.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Number five.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Trent McDuffie, Kansas City Chiefs. Number seven, excuse mean. Number six,
Jared Verse defensive n l A. Rams Number seven, Willie
Anderson Houston Texans edge rusher. Number eight, another Lion, Brian
Branch safety, University of Alabama. Number nine. B Jean Robinson hmm, okay,
(20:43):
Atlanta Falcons. I don't think that's I think it's a
little high for him in that respect, but it's not
my list. Number ten University of Alabama slash Georgia Tech
Jamiir Gibbs, Detroit Lions. Detroit Lions have three players on
this list in the top ten under twenty five years old,
(21:07):
and you see why they're going to be absolutely unbelievable
for years to come. Number eleven, so it gets a
little confusing, But okay, okay, Trake London Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Good receiver.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah, I mean, you know, former top ten pick gives
him a ninety point one grade, So all right.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Number twelve CJ.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Stroud had a down year last year, but I can
I'm okay with d Number thirteen, Derek Stingley his teammate.
So you're seeing a pattern here the young teams like
Houston in Detroit, they've got three players for Houston the
top thirteen, three players for the Lions in the top ten.
(21:54):
Number fourteen Brock Bowers Raiders. Gino Smith's new teammate obviously
came in the position last year, killed it twelve hundred yards,
receiving one hundred and twelve catches.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Number fifteen Malik Neighbors wide receiver New York Giants only
had one year, was a rookie year, but nonetheless it
was great. All right, here we go, So you're asking me,
where are the Seahawks? Do we have any Seahawks on
this list? Number sixteen Devin Weatherspoon Devin Witherspoon Spoon eighty
(22:35):
five point zero is as great snaps played since twenty
twenty two one nine.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Hundred eighty six.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Witherspoon has already proven to be one of the league's
most effective slot cornerbacks in all situations through his first
two seasons. He's a top ten corner in PFF overall
grade since twenty twenty two. The Illinois product is the
only cornerback in the past two seasons to rank in
the ten ten in PFF overall in top five in
(23:03):
PFF run defense.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
That is huge.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
He also boasts a seventy eight point five career PFF
coverage grade, which ranked seventeenth over the past two seasons,
ninety point two PFF pass rush grade sixth on seventy
two pass rush attempts, making him one of the league's
most effective weapons at the position.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
That's fair. Number sixteen don't have a problem with it.
Could have been higher, could have been lower. But that's
that's about right, Chris. Your thoughts, Oh.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah, that's money right.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I have no problem Spoon rights. That's where he belongs.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
He is the best player probably on the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yeah, yeah, I don't. I can't.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
I think he is.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
JSN might be his close second, It could be coming on,
could be, could be. But Spoon's already been proven. Yeah,
he's improven.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
How many jerseys is he gonna SAE? Yeah, popular in Seattle,
and I think it's only going to continue to grow.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
And I think he's only going to get continue to
get better under Mike McDonald's defense, you know, I think
he's only gonna get better there. So here's where I
have a little bit of issue. I don't number seventeen
Jalen Carter of Philadelphia Eagles, not because Jalen Carter's rank
(24:15):
seventeen is because Jalen carter should be in the top ten.
That's my only issue. And I don't just think he's
better at his spot than Witherspoon. I think he's better
at this at his spot than Derek Stingley, C. J. Stroud,
Drake London, Bjon Robinson, Jamiir Gibbs, Brian Branch.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
I think it's a position he plays though, defensive tackle
unless he's.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Unless he is putting up thirteen sacks thirteen tackles for
loss like that one guy that retired.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Yeah, is mister Donald.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
It's tough to crack. Don't get me wrong.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
His numbers aren't eye popping, but what he does allows
for everyone else to do their jobs times ten. And
I don't think PFF I'm not discredited for not taking
that into account. But when you look at the guys
you just named, I mean, Derek Stinely just got a bag,
not that Jalen Caller won't get a bag, right, definitely
get paid. But Derek's one of the best corners in
the league at his age and in the position group.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
I just think once you plug up the middle and
you yeah, I get it. He's only got ten and
a half sacks in his career in two seasons. The
numbers aren't cute, they're not like, oh my god, look
at those numbers. But that's not his position either.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah, you know, but that's what I think PFF is taking.
You gotta have both.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
And the guy that you mentioned, John is one of
the most electrifying running backs in the league. He is
really really good, so I'm not surprised he's top ten.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Yeah, I just I love Jalen Carter and I just
think this dude, he think he'll only get better.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
To your point with Devin Witherspoon, I think in three
years he could be someone that's in the top five
of this PFF ranking, and maybe it's the top one
hundred players, right, it won't be the twenty five under
but maybe it still will because what is he twenty
twenty years old?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
So he could probably be on this list? But he
who's this Jalen Carter?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
He's twenty four?
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Twenty four?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Okay, excuse me, so he'll but just turn twenty four.
He's young.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
But AnyWho, Yeah, I think as time goes on, he'll
only get better. In top one hundred, he might be
the number one player ranked by his peers.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Who knows. Yeah, the sky delimit for this kid.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Yeah, that's my only issue with the list is that
I just think that. And if you're going to go
on stats, how about impact on the opposing team? That
to me is like something that you cannot take into
effect enough and overstate enough. And he is he reminds
me of Warren Sap and then that used to be
the knock on Sap. Well he doesn't have enough sacks
(26:46):
which come out, you know, And but he until Aaron Donald,
Warren Sapp was the best three technique defensive tackle in
NFL history, and then Aaron Donald came along and it
was like Warren who you know, So that's what Aaron
Donald did. He make everybody because he was just he's
just this freak that you know, and you know, a
guy who I thought was even gonna be better the
(27:07):
way his career started. He still ended up winning a
couple world titles. He one went with the Rams like
he just became sort of this hired gun mercenary and
Dominican Sue. He was a dude that came into the
league and it looked like but the problem with him
in the beginning, he was dirty and he was hitting
(27:29):
guys after whistle and he was just doing things that
you weren't supposed to do. And that's the issue with
a guy like with Sue, and he kind of never
you know, could he be a Hall of Famer?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Yeah, yeah, you could get it one day.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
He could, but he didn't end up being, he didn't
end up having the consistency sustained success that I.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Thought he would.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
So Devin Witherspoon, number sixteen player, twenty five under, twenty
five years old. Sky's the limit for this guy. Sky's
a limit for him. Sky's the limit for the Hawks defense.
Ota Star today. Can't wait, we're talking football. June's gonna
be here in Oh about U Saturday? I believe No,
(28:12):
next Monday. Next Monday's June first, and before you know it, September.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Will be here.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
But it's a long, long hot dog days of summer
is coming up. So with a Spoon, I he is
a stud. I mean, there's no doubt about it. I
thought she he should have been higher. Quite frankly, I
thought sixteen was a little low for him. But I'm okay,
I mean, you know, it's fine, It's fine, all right.
(28:40):
Coming up next hitting to all fields. Somebody throws some
shade at the worldwide leader, and hell, hath no fury
like an ex girlfriend scorned. Two soundbites you are not
gonna want to miss. MJY and the Midday Sports Radio
ninety three to three kjr FM. There's so much great
(29:11):
sound that we could have played today that but so
we just had to pick, you know, the best. But
let's start with a former girlfriend of Aaron Rodgers. Not
Olivia Munn but danic Ka Patrick, former NASCAR driver.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Let's just say that.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
She did not pull any punches about her relationship with
her ex boyfriend a R twelve.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
What's the most amount of pain you've experienced.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
The breakup with Aaron in twenty Yeah, because it was
sudden and because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive,
So that wore me down to nothing. Everything was torn
to bits. He leaves a trail of blood. I don't
think I'm saying too much, you know, earth shattering stuff.
You know, there's been enough out there.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
There has been especially recently in it.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
But it gave me the greatest gift, right gift, which
is myself.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
You know.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
It gave me the greatest gift of how much I
needed to show up for myself. The only time I've
ever been lonely was when I was in a relationship
where I was furthest from myself. So the closer you
are to yourself and who you are, the happier you're
going to be.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Wo man, Aaron Rodgers, dude, it's uh yeah, yeah, I
mean emotionally abusive.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yeah, that's not good.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
I can't imagine any girl being in a relationship with
a guy like Aaron Rodgers. He just seems quite complex
and difficult and someone that would be impossible to get
along with no matter how happy you can make him.
He seems like someone that Aaron Rodgers seems like one
of those guys that doesn't need to be in a relationship.
(30:52):
What I mean is I think Aaron Rodgers should be
like one of those guys that be a lifetime friends
with benefits kind of guy where you just, hey, I'm
kind of in the mood.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Do you want to you know, you want to get together?
Speaker 1 (31:02):
That's it, you know, But it doesn't seem like being
in relation Emotionally abusive.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Wow, Wow, he left a quote trail of blood.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Now, she did say it was just emotionally, and we
know it wasn't physically well, at least according to her.
But like you're saying that an emotional trail of blood,
that's still a bad, bad look on Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Man.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I couldn't imagine that weight that she got to let
go of, because you.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Could hear it in her voice.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Kid, you could hear in her voice, and by the way,
let me give credit that was on the Sage Deal
podcast with Sage Deal, you can hear in her voice
how much free she is from everything that she's gone
through with him.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
And she basically said that.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
She lost herself, that she didn't know who she was,
that she was reduced to nothing pretty much as well
what she's saying in that relationship. And hey, listen, there's
two sides. What does every lawyer say? There's three sides
to every story, the plaintiff, the defendant, and somewhere in
the middle is the truth.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
So I'm sure he has you know, his side as well.
But he left a trail of blood. Ooh wow wow man?
Speaker 2 (32:24):
That uh not good?
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Uh So the last show ever, the final episode of
Around the Horn took place on Friday, and I actually
saw it. Thought it was a little corny and cheesy.
At the beginning of the show, they did this whole
good Fella's entrance when they were they like they did
(32:49):
like the scene where Ray Liota and Lorraine Bronco are
walking into the copa and they did this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
It was really cheesy, but whatever, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
But Tim Kallush, knowing that he didn't give a crap
if he ever, you know, sets foot on anything ESPN related.
Let's just say that throwing shade was something that Tim
kwishaw and pulling punches is something he did not do, and.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Now it's in kalishaw one final FaceTime. Oh Tony.
Speaker 7 (33:19):
I want to thank the fans of this show, starting
with all those that bought me all those shots, even
if we had to shut that down after about six years.
I want to thank ESPN for the opportunity that I
did not seek and never expected to get back in
two thousand and two. I'd also like to say that
while ESPN is currently gearing itself more towards hiring athletes
instead of journalists, did you not see the thirty two
(33:41):
points I scored in an intermural game see you Want
to Wear My Birdies at eight sixteen Augusta back in
two thousand and two.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Seth Davis was there. He can vouch for them.
Speaker 7 (33:51):
The fifth grade spelling bee at a Rappa Ho Elementary
and Richardson you guys like spelling bees. Sorry to digress,
be a wonderful twenty two plus on a show where
I felt imposter syndrome every time I walked into this studio.
I hope that people on the next show in this
time slot have as much fun and bring as many
smiles Over the next twenty two years, I'll be counting.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Yeah, ESPN. I mean they're not the only one.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
A lot of people are hiring former athletes, but a
lot of athletes are empowering themselves and doing their own thing.
Gilbert Renis with Who's he does it with Quentin Richardson,
and you have Stephen Jackson and Matthew Barnes, and then
you have Ryan Clark with Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
So yeah, that's just the way it's going. That's just
the way it is. Man.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
The business, everything changes, and you know it sounds a
little bit of there. Hey, Tim, I would take the
twenty two plus years you got and be happy with it.
I mean, you know, you got to be on national
TV in a spot every day, in a prime real
estate every single day. Coming up next the Rogue NBA
Official You are not gonna want to miss this interview,
(35:08):
Tim Donahe we will get into anything and everything.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Who was his most hated coach?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Shoot did he hate most as a player, What was
it like gambling and if any other referees did it
when he was there. We will find out everything, The
rogue official Tim Donaghe next on MJ in the midday
