Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sanctioned football. They call it the Duke autographed by Russell Wilson.
Autograph has held up. It's gonna held up forever. He
did it in a silver sharpie. We're gonna give that
away tomorrow at Arnold's Appliances in Bellevue between nun to two.
We're gonna find a way to give it away. But
I'll be out there tomorrow between un to two and
some lucky winner is gonna get that Russell Wilson autograph football,

(00:24):
So coming out and join me. They have great deals
on a ton of gifts for Father's Day for husbands, fathers, grandfathers, uncles, sons, nephews,
you name it. The best appliances that you can get.
Arnold's Appliance is tomorrow in Bellevue between noon to two.

(00:46):
You know what the difference is between the Seahawks and
Kraken versus the Mariners. Let me explain this to you.
And I've learned this in the four months that I've
been here, and the Seahawks haven't had success, real success,
consistent sustained success since you know that era twenty twelve

(01:09):
to twenty sixteen. So it's been a minute. It's been
a minute. Cracking or a new franchise. They're going on
their third head coach in five years, so their expansion,
So to me, there's no excuse there, Like, well, what
I mean is that there's valid reasons when you're a
new franchise. Listen, Vegas Golden Knight's winning a Stanley Cup
and there was it third year of existence. That's an aberration.

(01:33):
That's an anomaly. No, it just doesn't happen that way.
It never happens that way. But you know the thing
I respect and admire the most about both the Mariners
and Cracking. Excuse me, check that back up itck snay.
You know what I respect the most about the Seahawks
in Cracking. They're always trying to improve their product on

(01:58):
the field and on the ice. And yes, they've gone
through in renting a lot of o line coaches right
after the Pete Carroll era. Now they're on their new coach,
Mike McDonald. He seems to be the right guy. The
entire locker room is bought in. When you got a

(02:18):
ten year veteran like Jaron Reid showing up to a
voluntary camp in the beginning of June doesn't need to
be there, but That shows me that the entire locker
room is bought in. John Schneider made wholesale changes this year. Goodbye, GINO,
see you later, DK, Thanks for the memories. Tyler Lockett, Income,

(02:43):
Sam Darnold, Cooper Cup, Marcus Valdez, Gantling, DeMarcus Lawrence in
a new draft class. But the Seahawks are doing everything
they can to improve that product on the field. And
I can say I saw that from the outside looking in,
and I can even see that now more from the
inside looking out. Kracking. They want a winner. They got

(03:08):
a lot of money. They just hired Lane Lambert as
a head coach. Hopefully he's the guy we know that
Hackstall wasn't, and either was Biosma. But Jason Bottrel he
got his guy the way John Schneider got his guy.
Mike McDonald and the Kraken they're gonna be movers and
shakers when free agency begins, draft coming up and then there.

(03:29):
I believe they're gonna be major players. I'm not saying
Mitch Marner is gonna be a member of the krack
in I hope he is, but they're gonna be major
players in free agency because they want to win. Oh
by the way, you tell me a sports franchise out there,
not only in the NHL, but in all of sports
that basically for season ticket holders decrease their prices by

(03:54):
twenty five percent on concessions including beer. Who does that?
The crack and care about the fans?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
They care?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
They do?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
They do?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I mean, who does, by the way, decreased their prices
on concessions including alcohol for season ticket holders, including alcohol,
not just food. Nobody else does that. The crack and
care about the fans, and they're gonna do everything they can.
Mister Lywicki is gonna do everything he can to put

(04:26):
this franchise in a position to be playing hockey in
late May and June. Gonna take some time. We're almostn't
built in a day the city or gym, but they're
gonna They're gonna get it right. I don't know when,
but I know at least you can see the effort
they're trying. Same thing with the Seahawks going out and

(04:49):
give it to Marcus Lawrence eighteen million guaranteed. I'd like
to do that, but hey, John Schneider has done everything
he could to put the Seahawks in the best position
to succeed in twenty twenty five and hopefully beyond with
this draft class. Herd nick Emmon Worry is a stud
and he will be starting from day one. What I'm

(05:11):
hearing right now so far, someone told me, someone might
someone told me that this guy is everywhere on the field.
They put him at here, a linebacker, safety, you name it.
He's a stud. And then we juxtapose the Seahawks and
the Kraken versus the Mariners off season re signed Jorge Polanco.

(05:32):
Look good for about a month, yeah, and then the
dude went since May twentieth, went four for his next
excuse me two for his next thirty five at bats,
and basically has been on a downward spiral. Can't hit
left handed pitching. But listen, it's Jorge Polanco. He is

(05:53):
who we thought he was. Then you have Donovan Solano,
thirty seven years years old, You spend money on him.
You don't try and go after forget about Pete Alonzo,
but you don't try and go after Paul Goldschmidt, Christian Walker,
Alex Bregman, somebody out there to improve this team. And

(06:17):
you sign a thirty seven year old in Donovan Solano,
and then you hire a dude who looks like everybody's
plumber at first base, who has plumbers crack and rowdy telez. Yeah,
he's hit some home runs this year, sure, but you
get what you pay for, Okay, you get what you

(06:38):
pay for at the end of the day, and you
get what you deserve. So I respect and admire what
the Kraken and the Seahawks are doing because they're trying.
And John Schneider said it at the combine. He made
a quote here I'm paraphrasing. He said, you know, I
feel sorry for the fans. We need to do better.
We need to make the playoffs. And he has done

(07:01):
everything within his power to put the Seahawks in a
position to make the playoffs. What did the Mariners do
in the offseason? Zero, n A, nothing, and so in
the last ten games as they are three and seven
and they are on another June swoon down word spiral. Gh.

(07:23):
We've seen this movie before, haven't we. In their last
ten games, they've scored three and a half runs per game.
That's not actually that bad. It's not great, but okay,
it's serviceable. Better than last year. The runs allowed per
game in the last ten games five point three run

(07:45):
differential minus nineteen, batting average two thirty four, and the
last ten games as a team, they have eleven home runs.
Cal Raley has like what seven or eight of them,
feels like he almost has all of them. They're on
base percentage two seventy nine OPS six thirty five ERA,

(08:07):
four point seventy four home runs allowed in the last
ten games, sixteen walks alowed in the last ten games,
thirty two hits allowed per nine innings in the last
ten games nine point two nine. If you don't put
anything into your product, these are the results you get. Oh,

(08:30):
by the way, they have a losing record at home.
So I was doing some due diligence and research and
checking out the teams and the standings throughout Major League
Baseball that have winning records. Do you know the only
team in baseball with a winning record that has a
losing record at home? Your Seattle Mariners. Even it's unbelievable.

(08:56):
I couldn't believe. I'm like, no, way, that cannot be true.
Are you serious? And I'm looking through Yankees, Rays, Blue
Jays winning record. Even the Red Sox, who have a
losing record overall, have a winning record at home. Tigers, Twins, Guardians, Royals, Astros.

(09:17):
Even the Rangers have a losing record. Have a winning
record at home. Mets, Phillies, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers, Dodgers, Padres,
and Giants. They all have winning records at home. The

(09:37):
only team with a losing record at home that's above
five hundred are the Seattle Mariners. That park is not
this team. Don't be surprised if they win five of
their next six games. Don't be surprised, because they're better
on the road than they are at home. And that's
a fact. Sixteen and twelve on the road, sixteen and

(09:59):
seventeen at home. Losing record, losing record. And why should
any of this surprise us? All of you have told
me since day one, and I and I remember I
told Christopher Kid when they won ninth straight series. We
did a thing when we played my rant from Jimmy's

(10:20):
on first back on Wednesday, April ninth, and I said, well,
you know what, today's the day I'm going to eat
the crow. And most of you on the text line
at four nine, four or five one said to me,
don't eat crow yet, Mark, don't eat crow yet. It's
too early. Don't eat that I was eating it. It
didn't taste good, but I was eating it. And it's like,

(10:41):
I understand where the fans are coming from now with
this team, Why would you invest in go to a
product that doesn't care about Really the fans themselves, they're
not trying to better the on the field product. They're not.
They're not They're not doing anything in the off season. Nothing. No,
maybe Jerie will make a Gerard will make a trade

(11:02):
here before the deadline. He better because you're gonna need
somebody to get hits in this offense besides cal Raleigh.
You're gonna need somebody to do it. They can't do
it right now. And it's it's like I said, it
is beginning to look a lot like last year all
over again. Here we go. So I'm not gonna eat

(11:24):
crow on that. And you know what, when you go
to a game, there's a better than fifty percent chance
at T Mobile Park they're gonna lose. They have an
under five hundred record this year. And you get what
you pay for and you get what you deserve. The
Kraken in Seahawks, they're trying to improve the product. Now

(11:45):
it's trial and error, not everything's gonna.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Be a hit.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
But at least they're trying at least the Kraken for
the season ticket holders, they're lowering, you know, the concession
prices by twenty five percent including alcohol. They lowered any
concession prices recently. Yeah, yeah, no, I didn't think so.
Didn't think so. So when you look at you juxtapose

(12:09):
the teams and you see Seahawks a for effort, Cracking
a plus for effort, Mariners f plus for effort, they
just don't like that they didn't put anything into the
on the field product. And when a former player who's
a World Series champion like Justin Turner comes out and says,

(12:32):
you're not even gonna try to go after Pete Alonzo.
Pete Alonzo was there for the taking. The Mets didn't
offer him anything. He had to go back to Queens
with his tail between his legs because his agent completely
totally screwed him over Scott Boris. Who Alli did is

(12:52):
concentrate on Juan Soto. He over inflated Pete Alonso's sense
of self worth and open market value and it came
back to bite him. So Pete Alonzo goes back to
the Mets for next to nothing. You could have got
Pee Alonzo here. Now I'm not saying we know that

(13:13):
T Mobile Park is not a hitter's park, but man,
maybe you sign him to a one or two year
deal and don't give me the oh well, we already
went there with Robinson Cano and it didn't work. And
Robinson Cano was good here for a little bit. Go
look at his baseball card numbers. He was good here
in Seattle, and then he wasn't and then you traded

(13:34):
him and Edwin Diaz to the Mets. But like when
you see this June swoon, because it's all happening all
over again. When you see it, are you surprised, because
I'm not at all. I mean, you get what you
pay for in life. It's it. I mean it's plain
and simple. You get what you pay for, and you

(13:54):
get what you deserve. And this is what they paid for.
You got Donovan Solano and a dude who looks like
he should be playing in a Sunday YMCA soft slow
pitch softball league with the back of his jersey that
says sixty nine to les on it. You get what
you pay for. That's best team in baseball, arguably Met's Dodgers.

(14:19):
Collision course NLCS winner goes to the World Series. Yeah yeah,
but you get what you pay for. And remember those
quotes by Justin Turner and the offseason, Remember them because
those actually, you know, they really really kind of ring true, now,
don't they don't? They kid like this is a player

(14:39):
saying it. This is a world champion. Justin Turner has
been a clutch player with the Dodgers, and I mean,
this dude has been absolute and it's like, you get
what you pay for now. I don't know if Sam
Darnold's gonna pop, I don't know if Cooper Cup how
much gas he has left in the tank, and Marquez
Valdez gittling, but at least give John Schneider credit for

(15:02):
doing the right thing and saying, Okay, we don't believe
in rebuilding, renting, but we believe in reset. So we're
gonna reset, and we're gonna we're gonna kind of move
some some poker pieces around here. We're gonna do this,
and we're gonna do that. And they're actually, hey, what
team has had made more moves in this offseason and
more moves to improve their franchise than the Seattle Seahawks

(15:26):
You'd be hard pressed to find any franchise this offseason
who's done more to improve the team in the Seahawks.
And I'm not just saying that because I'm here. I'm
saying it because it's true. Mariners, you know what text line?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
You were right?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
I ate Crow too early. I shouldn't have said that,
because here we are again. Astros have a one and
a half game lead today on Friday, June sixth, what
will it be now? I think the Mariners will do
better on this road trip. First of all, the Angels suck,
the Diamondbacks suck, and they're on the road, so they'll
probably you win at least four out of six games.

(16:02):
But what happens when they come home and they have
a losing record. It's just listen, it could get early,
it could get late pretty early here in Seattle, and
then everybody's attention, spans start focusing on Renton, Virginia Mason
Athletic Center and everybody, because you know, the number one
team in this city by far and away. Now that

(16:24):
the Sonics will no longer hear and after that legion
of boom era are the Hawks. I mean, I don't
have to tell you that I've gleaned that from day one,
the first time I'd set foot here, when I was
hired back on the first week in February. You get
what you pay for, folks in life.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Man.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
And if this team with this talent, and I know
there's been injuries in the starting rotation. Logan Gilbert's been
out for over a month. George Kirby, who showed signs
of improvement the other night. He didn't have any spring training.
He was out for the entire season until coming back
a couple of weeks ago. Luke Rayley's out ro blesses out.

(17:03):
I get that. I understand that. But you didn't do
anything to improve this team in the offseason and it
shows right now big time. And that's let me tell
you something. Right now, you scored two runs a game
against Baltimore at home? Are you for real? And you

(17:26):
expect the fans to invest in this product? He two
runs a game against the Orioles, You just turn their
whole season around. Orioles are feeling real good about themselves
right now.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Now.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
We're gonna make them run at the wild card. It's
just it's unbelievable what you see. But when you look
at this season. Always go back to Justin Turner, go
back to that, and that when if this team does
not make the postseason, I still think they could. But

(17:57):
when you go back to these comments, the fact quote,
the fact that they missed the playoffs by one game
and didn't go out and add an impact bat or
two when you have the best pitching staff in baseball
just seems absurd to me. Then he goes on to say, quote, Honestly,
as much as I wanted to be back there, if

(18:17):
I was the only piece they brought back in, I
would be saying the same thing, what the hell are
we doing? Are you trying? There's not going to be
a better time to go for it, So I don't
know what they're doing. I'm very confused. It's a head
scratcher for me. End quote. You should put that right there.
They should like basically put that in, you know, some

(18:39):
type of you know, like when they put famous quotes
on statues and put that quote outside T Mobile Park.
If this team doesn't make the playoffs this season, you
can't count on cal. I mean, he's probably gonna end
up with forty five home runs or more, but he
needs help. He needs help, and pretty soon other teams
are going to wise up and they're just gonna intentionally

(19:00):
walk them and pitch around him, and then who's gonna
hit after him? A Rose Arena Julio. Yeah, yeah, I
don't feel very confident about either one of those. If that,
if you're gonna put it all on those guys, you're
in trouble, Gerard. You better make a trade, pal because
this team in this season is on the brink. As

(19:23):
we speak, just saying four nine, four, five to one
on the text line, and Brooke Pryor will join us
at the top of the hour to talk about mister
Rogers is coming to town and you know it's weird.

(19:44):
The guy who is the original mister Rogers, he was
from Pittsburgh. Well, there's a new mister Rogers in town
and this guy isn't as pleasant as that guy was,
but he is coming to town and it could be
un be lievable for the Steeler in a lot of ways,
some good, some bad. But there's somebody out there who

(20:09):
thinks that this could be a disaster for Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
You know who he is.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
We'll get to that next. Lee Sterling at eleven forty five.
He will have some winning picks for this weekend on
the UFC three point sixteen pay per view. Coming up
at eleven forty five, Brooke Prior, Pittsburgh Steelers reporter from ESPN.
At the top of the hour, we'll ask her howse
DK metcalf like in this new quarterback in Pittsburgh. Aaron

(20:39):
Rodgers right here, MJ in the Midday Sports Radio ninety
three to three KJR FM. It yeah, it kind of.
It blew up big time yesterday and we were waiting
for and waiting for it. He waited till less than
a week before mandatory mini campigins in Pittsburgh. We'll speak
to Brook Prior, ESPN Steelers reporter to find out what

(21:00):
is going on there in the Steel City of Pittsburgh
and how are they viewing Aaron Rodgers. A lot of
people and you know, they look at you know, Mike
Tomlin not usually like a circus. That's not his that's
not his bag, that's not his scene. And Aaron Rodgers
coming to town. Mister Rogers brings you not only a circus,

(21:24):
he brings you that Ringling Brothers in Barnum and Bailey
type circus. And somebody who apparently doesn't have any shortage
of vitriol or animosity for Aaron Rodgers is former FS

(21:52):
one in ESPN sports opinionist Skip Bayless, I.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
Just finished playing golf on my way home when I
heard the news. I just had to pull over an unleash.
The Pittsburgh Steelers actually did it. They're actually going to
sign a washed up, forty one year old finger pointing,

(22:23):
blame deflecting diva Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
They are.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
They're going to allow.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Aaron Rodgers to steal from the Steelers. You're kidding. I
can't believe it. He's, as Lebron says, completely washed. He
was washed his last three years in Green Bay. Go
look at the numbers of Aaron Rodgers' last three playoff

(22:50):
games in Green Bay, and I'm including the final game.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
There was the.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Final regular season game he played for Green Bay, which
was a playoff for the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
So Skip Bayless went on and on and on. Personally,
I'm not a fan of Aaron Rodgers. I still think
he has something left in the tank. And Skip is
completely wrong on his last three years in Green Bay
that he was washed. You mean in twenty twenty when
he won the MVP and threw for forty eight touchdowns.

(23:22):
He was washed that year, Or how about the following
year in twenty twenty one, when he threw for thirty
seven touchdowns and I believe won another MVP that year.
So now you could say in his last year in
Green Bay there was a precipitous drop off forty eight
touchdown passes in twenty twenty thirty seven and twenty twenty one,

(23:42):
twenty six and twenty twenty two. Okay, I could say
the last year and then losing at home to the
Lions with a chance to make the playoffs last year
was really bad. And then of course two years with
the Jets, he only played I think like won series
the first game of the year in twenty twenty three,

(24:02):
and he got hurt. He was out for the whole
year and last year. But you know, here's the thing
about it. Statistically, he actually had a better season last
year with the Jets than he did in his last
season in Green Bay. He threw for twenty eight touchdowns
and eleven picks with the Jets last year with nothing

(24:23):
but trash around him. Like I said, I'm not an
Aaron Rodgers guy, but I just have a feeling. He
sat back and He's listened and he's heard all the criticism,
including from all the talking pundits and loudmouths and people
who get paid to make their opinions and people who don't.

(24:48):
And I'm telling you right now, I believe that Aaron
Rodgers will have a thirty touchdown plus season in Pittsburgh.
If they can protect him, and they can on the ball,
Aaron Rodgers could be absolutely a huge shot in the

(25:08):
arm for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm not saying they're gonna
make a run to the Super Bowl or AFC Championship Game,
but I could see them. He's not coming there to
miss the playoffs. Okay, he's not. He's just not. And
I know he's forty one. He's got a lot of
mileage on those tires, but he's motivated forty one. And

(25:33):
you could say, well, you know, he's not gonna be
what Tom Brady was in twenty twenty with the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers, when you know Brady was still performing at
an all time level and leading them to the Super Bowl. No,
I'm not saying that. I'm not, but I think the
Pittsburgh Steelers are a better football team today than they

(25:53):
were forty eight hours ago. I do do you do
you believe so.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Ki ten thousand percent.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
Skip went on to say that they would be better
with Rudolph.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
How much do you dislike Ryan Rogers? I know he
is not the most.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
He is not the That's one person you probably would
never get along with because of how he carries himself
and it's all about him. But at the end of
the day, when it comes to playing football, he is
one of the best at it. There's a reason why
he's playing through he's forty one, that's right, there's a
reason why the Jets took a risk on him. Unfortunately,
his first year there we all know what happened he
towards Achilles. But his second year and you just looked

(26:29):
up the numbers, he was he was fine.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
That yeah, nobody.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Now against the Seahawks, he did struggle.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
I saw him miss throws that he normally makes, like
the back shoulder throws to DeVante Adams.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
He missed a lot of throws that he normally makes.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
He did.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
That's not to excuse his playing in that game. But
for the most part last season, that team was a
dumpster fire. So it is what it is.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
They've been a dumpster fire for twenty plus years. It's right.
I mean that organization's a dumpster fire. That's what they are,
all right, least Sterling Mound Sports. He's got some winners
on the UFC fight and Stanley Cup Game two tonight
between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place.

(27:11):
We'll get to him. Brooke Pryor ESPN Pittsburgh Steelers Report,
We'll talk to her and see how former Seahawks receiver
DK metcalf is doing in the Steel City and his
new teammate Aaron Rodgers. All that coming up next right
here on MJ and the Midday Sports Radio ninety three
to three kJ R FM is Salsa Boy. Where did
he go? I don't know where he got that nickname,

(27:33):
but that's a cool nickname.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Lee.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Let's get right into it before we get to the
main event right then and there Salsa Boy versus Polar Bear,
not Pete Alonzo, but Polar Bear. Sergei Spyvic.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
So well, Waldo Cortes a Kosta likes to dance obviously
if he wins, and he's got a chance, and Sergey
Spobex got a chance to win this fight Serge Speedback
is a minus one forty favorite, But we're not gonna
go with a winner this fight. We're gonna go with
a prop. That's the great thing about wagering on these
UFC fights is there's so many different ways. You can

(28:12):
do a by submission, you can do it by TKO,
you can do you know what round that you want
to fight to finish. But we're gonna go with this
fight with inside the distance minus one fifty. Why do
I say that serj Speedback not much on training. You

(28:32):
look at his body type and if he's riding the
bike for maybe five or ten minutes a day, that
would be considered a lot, usually in the two sixty
to two sixty five range, and if he can finish
a fight, it's usually only in the first round. The
other side, while though Cortes Acosta has a little bit

(28:53):
more cardio, but I think he's gonna be able to
probably be able to maybe be able to, you know,
use some defense against s feedback here in the first round,
and if the fight goes to the second round, Speedback
is going to be done here. So what's interesting about
Speedback He just does not he can't go to a
finish here, So it'll either be Speedback in the first

(29:17):
round knockout or ground and pound or Waldo Acosta in
the second round. By you know, ground and pound, Speedback
will just quit. So we're gonna go with inside the
distance here on one of the prelim fights minus one
point fifty. I think it's a better way to attack
this fight, Whereas on this entire card there's only three

(29:39):
fights that are under minus two hundred, all very high
line fights.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
So for everybody out there that wants to bet this fight,
they gotta bet it to go under. Correct.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah, under either inside the distance inside a lot of times,
or you'll see it minus two and a half rounds.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Okay, fair enough, and obviously the big one three C.
The rematch from September Morob Twallish Willy versus sugar Sean O'Malley.
O'Malley took to me. I thought was a surprising loss.
I mean, he's the guy's four years younger than Twalish
Willy ken he now, Lee, I know this is a

(30:18):
this is a family show, but I'm just saying that
there's there's things out there that sugar Sean O'Malley has
given up his favorite pastimes, marijuana, social media. And how
do I say this in a nice way, Well, let's
just say he's abstained from any type of sexual activity.

Speaker 5 (30:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
And and I think in the first sight, not only
did he abstain from the those three activities, I think
he was injured. And so the combination all those three things,
and I think that that his ego just led him
to want to continue and go on the fight. He
was a headline fight, and he wasn't ready physically, and

(31:01):
also I think mentally he also had not been prepared
enough to face a wrestler like rabdivilis Philly. So this
Philly has won. Nine of his ten wins have been
by unanum's decision, and in a rematch, I don't think,
you know, he can come up with anything different. He's
a wrestler. I think Sean O'Malley will train for him.

(31:23):
And we've seen a lot of really good martial artists
who are not great wrestlers be able to learn how
to you know, to be able to avoid being taken
down or at least being taken down over and over
again like he was in the first fight. So in
rematch is just like many other sports that usually favors
the underdog, and I think the line is high here.

(31:44):
I think this should be O'Malley plus one point fifty.
I'm going to take him plus two thirty. I think
he's going to pull the upset and get his title
belt back.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
So what's that number again?

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Plus two thirty?

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Wow? Oh?

Speaker 1 (31:57):
I love that lead. Maybe I can make up for
that after Tyrese Halliburton screwed me over last night. Lee,
you know it going under seventeen and a half points.
Maybe listen, you and I were at UFC two ninety
nine in Miami at the Casaiah Center in March of
last year, and I watched sugar Sean like handle Marlon

(32:17):
Vera and you were there too, And I'll tell you this.
I mean, I love watching sugar Sean fight. And you're
telling me I get plus two thirty on that. Wow?

Speaker 2 (32:28):
That's it?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Wow? Is that something that you're gonna get Paramount sports
dot com. Paramount sports dot com is where you check
out for Lee Sterling? Is that something? Obviously? I would
imagine that you're gonna advise your clients to take too.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
That is one of our seven selections right there.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Wow, give it to you for free folks for free sugar.
Sean O'Malley. Now, let me ask you this does the
plus two thirty? Is it just to win? It doesn't
have to be by you know, submission or tko, none
of that. Just gotta win, right, just just win.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
It can be submission, could be tko. TKO could even
be you know where let's say, uh he end ups.
It doesn't happen often, but it could be a disqualification
that'll happen once out of every eight or ten cards.
Also all right?

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Game two tonight, Edmonton Oilers at home trying to take
a two to nothing lead against the Florida Panthers. Panthers
let one get away. They're up three to one the
other night and then of course in overtime we all
know what happened, Leon dry Sidle. Can the Panthers steal
home ice advantage going back to South Florida tonight with
this game and obviously the pressures on them. You don't

(33:38):
want to go down two in that game. And I
believe the line tonight is minus one ten for both teams.
Who do you like and why so?

Speaker 2 (33:49):
I actually think Game one of this series played at
a pace that Florida wants to continue. In Game two
at five versus five full strength, Florida actually led the
game and shot attempts, expected goals, and scoring chances. Game
one really did play out the way you would expect
it to. Edmonton came out flying in the first period
of a Cup final Game one at home, as usual.

(34:12):
Florida rebounded later in the first and then had one
of their best periods in the postseason in the middle frame,
and then Edmonton got some penalty calls and one to
two bad goals on Forbrosky to come back in the
third period. Remember, the Oilers were not called for a
single penalty after the first period, and Florida took a

(34:33):
crucial delay a game penalty in overtime to lose late.
Also remember Florida scored two of their goals in the
first period, they took a penalty within two minutes after
scoring each of those. Then, when Sam Bennett scored in
the second, Barbroski gave up a matching goal to Edmonton
less than two minutes later. They really tripped over their
own skates when they had chances to bury buried the

(34:54):
Oilers here in the season opener. This series opener with
a lot of fun to watch, but I still think
that this is an experienced Florida team team. They've scored
average of three point eight goals per game here since
the start of the Toronto series. They just let their
guard down at the worst possible moment in Game one.
When Brabrovski has a down game like that, he is

(35:17):
a virtual guarantee to bounce back, and I don't see
how they can suffer so many calls against him in
Game two. I also wouldn't be surprised to see another
seven to eight goal game. I think this time it's
in Florida's favorite here, Florida Panthers money line minus one ten.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Well, that's well, that's great value no matter what when
you look at it Edmonton. Both teams are scoring at
a high rate, Edmonton averaging over four goals a game,
and the seventeen games in these playoffs, LEAs Sterling, they've
only scored two or less goals twice, so fifteen out
of seventeen they'd scored at least three goals or more,

(35:53):
averaging for a game. I'll tell you what I like.
I'm gonna go with the over tonight, over six goals.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Okay, I like that I understand can win and so
score that many goals.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Yeah, I like the over tonight. Check out Paramount sports
dot com. So lead tomorrow night. You're gonna go under
the distance for the first fight between Salsa Boy and Sergey,
and then you're gonna go with Sugar Shan O'Malley plus
two thirty, and then you're gonna say take the panther
to even things up tonight at minus one ten.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
That's it, all right.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
You can check out his website, Paramount sports dot com.
Over thirty years as a sports handy gapper, and I
can tell you this. I know this for a fact.
Lee Sterling puts his money where his mouth is. If
he's giving out the plays, he's betting on them. Personally.
You see a lot of people on TV and national
TV and whatnot. They don't do that. Lee Sterling does,

(36:47):
so do I. Lee appreciate the time. Thanks man, Thanks Mark.
Take care all right, Lee Sterling, Paramount Sports dot Com.
