It gets one O three point seven Gloria Gaynor, I
will survive perfect song this Monday morning. Hopefully he had
a great weekend. By the way, Hi there, I'm Christy.
Producer Karina is here over the weekend. I heard about
this crazy story. It happened a few years ago. But
this doctor in California, in Bakersfield was eating dinner and

(00:29):
all of a sudden, a woman in the restaurant started
choking on a piece of meat and three people tried
to do the Heimlich maneuver and they were unable to
save her.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
So someone said, hey, is there a doctor in the house.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
And this doctor came over and literally took a pocket
knife from a friend to do an emergency tracheotomy in
the middle of the restaurant.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
What had saved the woman's life?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Got a pin, got a knife, cut a hole in
her throat, stuck the pin in, you know, because that's
what they do in the movies. I guess to clear
the airway, use it as a breathing tube, and literally say,
this woman's life from choking.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
How crazy is that? Crazy?

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Have you ever been someplace? And they said Is there
a doctor in the house. No, you need a doctor. No,
have you on the airplane? Really, I've been on an
airplane and they made an announcement and they said, is
there is there anyone who has a medical like whatever,
we need a doctor. I don't know what was happening,

(01:38):
but they asked for somebody who was a medical professional.
It wasn't me, so I was like, you know, I'm
not volunting, but how crazy is that?

Speaker 4 (01:46):
That?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
The rock star superhero stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
You take a knife from your friend and a pen
at the restaurant and stick it in someone's throat and
save someone's life.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Dang, that is crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
If you've ever been someplace and saved a life or
someone called for a doctor to save a life and

Speaker 2 (02:23):
There was a doctor in Baker's Field who was in
the restaurant.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
A woman started choking.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
They tried the heimleg it didn't work, so he brows
a pocket knife from a friend, takes a pin from
the restaurant, and basically cuts a throat open and sticks
the pin in so she can breathe. An emergency tracheotomy,
just like that. Have you ever been in a situation
where someone.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Asked is there a doctor around? Or saved a life? Russ?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
You never see this happening on an airplane or in
a restaurant, or somebody say, hey, quick, is there a
mailman around?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Help them right? Step in with your mail bag.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
I get him a stamp.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah. No, nobody ever really needs an emergency mail man
unless you wait for a check in the mail.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Thanks for the call, Russ. Good morning, Ray.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
On his first day.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
On his first day, as a matter of fact, they
just got back from the eighth day training and his
car was part at the late and when they got back,

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Today, the crazy train is headed out to Ohio. They
say revenge is a dish best served cold, but Tia
McCreary did not wait to serve up the dish cold.
She gave it to them hot and ready. All right, Okay,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
This woman in Ohio went to Taylor Kia. She applied
for a car loan. They approved her for a car loan.
She drove off the lot with her car. A month later,
Taylor Kea decided, you know what, we are going to
repossess this woman's car because I guess the loan didn't
quite work out. But they waited a month and then

(04:58):
repossessed the car while she was work.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Oh no, no, no, no, no shady.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
So Tiam McCreary. She didn't get mad, she got even.
She looked into her legal options. And when she was
looking into her legal options, she found out that the
dealership hadn't renewed its business name, so she registered it
under her own name and then sent them a season
desist letter.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
That is so genius and also so shady. Dang.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
The court battle is still raging on, but in the
meantime she's been winning because literally, that's their bad.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
She owns the name, owned the name. She's like, why
did you use it? That's what you get? Oh, that
is so clever. It is so you can't be mad

Next Good Morning.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
Drive with Christy Live on Classic Kids one oh three
point seven, It's time for the Great.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Debate unsportsman like conduct. We're looking forward to a big
football season. But there's some sports happening right now, and
if your child plays sports, or maybe you played sports
growing up, I'm sure you will have an opinion about
this morning's great debate that coach Greg has brought to

(06:27):
the table.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Okay, so what's the deal.

Speaker 8 (06:29):
Well, first of all, you know, I'm kind of a
proud coach, like I'm a little league coach, And what
happened was this weekend, Like my team they played great
and they just killed this other team. And basically the
parents on the other team accused me of like running
up the score. But like, I don't know what I
could have done, Like, you know, I teach the kids

(06:50):
to go play hard, and that's what they did. And
you know, I'm sorry that they won. I don't know
what to say to them.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
You can't be mad if your team scores on the
other team.

Speaker 8 (06:59):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
I don't understand. What was the score.

Speaker 8 (07:01):
It was twenty five to nothing, twenty five to nothing.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Day you didn't run it up, you ran a route. Geez.

Speaker 8 (07:10):
I mean, this doesn't happen every week, and we've played
this team before and the game was different. But it's
just so frustrating, Like I'm out there doing the best
I can. Like, they're just being kids, they're just having fun,
Like we're just out there to have fun. Like, not
take this too serious.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
But now you want to know if you were wrong for, uh,
basically making the other team feel like losers. I'm just saying,
twenty five to zero, and you're playing with kids, we
will definitely throw it out there for you and find out.
I don't know, Okay, coach Creg, I appreciate you bring

(07:44):
in this morning's great debate.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
To the table. Twenty five to zero?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
What'd you call them losers? But you know, if it's kids,
do you need to really run it up to twenty five?
If it's a kid's sporting event? Is that poor sportsmanship?
Or is that just playing good sports?

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I think good good sports, Like you can't give in
to the other team if they're.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Losy because you don't want to hurt their feelings. No,
but parents do get upset about that.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
One eight six six nine hundred one three seven Tap
the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app if you
want to join in. Is it poor sportsmanship to let
a Little League or Pop Warner team run.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Up the score twenty five zip?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Or should you just like kind of call the game
to spare the other teams feel five to zero? You guys,
we're gonna call it because your team sucks. I don't
think that's right. What do you think is the question
for this morning's Great Debate Jump in with your thoughts next.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
To the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three point seven?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Is it on sportsman like for a team to beat
a team like buy a lot?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Coach Greg called in.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
This morning said parents are mad because he let his
team beat a little league team twenty five to zero.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
And he's like, well, am I wrong for doing that?
What do you think, eric?

Speaker 9 (09:27):
Coach Greg is absolutely not wrong.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Okay, here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (09:33):
Huh, even though it's kids, when you're playing baseball, there's
such a thing.

Speaker 8 (09:38):
Called a rally, okay, where a.

Speaker 7 (09:40):
Team can score nine or ten points in one inning.
That happens in baseball.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
All the time.

Speaker 9 (09:47):
So what is his options if you're beating a team
ten to nothing? Do you tell your team just strike out?
Or you tell your team don't play hard? Like that's
not a good message to send the kids.

Speaker 7 (09:59):
The other team they is up their game up to me,
you know, get with the kids. Well, I mean stuff
like that's gonna happen once in a while, just like
he said, it doesn't happen every game. That's just the
way it is in that kind of game. So I
would say he is not wrong to tell the players
to keep playing hard, because that's what she wants them
to do every game.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
All right, then, well, thank you, I will note that vote.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Good morning, Vicky, appreciate you jumping in for this morning's
great debate.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
What do you think.

Speaker 10 (10:31):
It's a difficult thing because I'm wanting you don't want
to teach to me quitter, and on the other aspect,
you don't want to break his spirits at the same
time being beaten so bad. It's a fine line. I
got huge football, so Paul Murphy will there. So they
just keep the clock running. It goes very coolly, says not.
You know, I guess i'd have the kids quit on you.

(10:52):
They should go out and they play, but you know
they know that it's going to end. Really in baseball
it's a little different.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
All right. Then, I love that you're a football coach.
That's awesome.

Speaker 10 (11:03):
I was coaching leaders and I took one year off
and I'm back coaching again.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
All right, then, well, love that you are doing that work.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
You know, Kreina and I we're big football women, so
you know, keep it up.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
What do you think is the question?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
One eight six six, nine hundred and one three seven.
Tap the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app if
you want to jump in. Coach Greg had a little
league team. They beat the other team twenty five zip
didn't stop the game and parents were upset because they
said it was poor sportsmanlike conduct. But what do you
think is the question? Got one talk back here?

Speaker 11 (11:38):
It is upsolutely umpire to call the game all is
it's out of hands. Having been on both ends of
the store, I can see both sides of the story.
The coaches stopping the players one base of time and
then there.

Speaker 10 (11:52):
That's something he can do.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Okay, it is really you know, up to the umpires.
Thanks for the talkback.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
What do you think? Jump in here from you?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Next to the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three
point seven.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Coach Greg had a little league team and they molly
womped the other team twenty five to zero.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
He said, parents are a little upset with him.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Now because they didn't stop the game, because it's going
to hurt the kids.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Feelings that they got beat by so much.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
So the question is this morning, was coach Greg wrong
for basically not calling the game?

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Giovanni, thank you so much for checking in.

Speaker 12 (12:30):
So I've had three kids go through Little league, and
there is a rule called mercy rule your callers that
are referencing a rally and all this This is not
Major League Baseball. These are little kids. And it gets
to a point where the outcome is pretty evident, and
they don't go and keep pushing it and rubbing salt
in the womb, so to speak. So they kind of

(12:52):
back off and eventually call the game if it gets
to a point where there's no snow return for the
other team. And I think that the little character as
well as you kind of cater to the fact that
you're dealing with little kids. You're not dealing with pro athletes.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
But what if you want your kid to become a
pro athlete, maybe you might want to treat them with
those like adult hands.

Speaker 12 (13:11):
Don't rules don't apply to the little kids here. I
get people's you know, fanaticism with sports, but we're not
beating kids by showing them how dominant you have a
team is. We're trying to teach them values of being
a good sportsman, both in winning and losing.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
All right, that.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Okay, like that, Thank you so much. Appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
We will note that vote. Good morning, Tracy. Do you
think coach Greg was wrong?

Speaker 8 (13:35):
Absolutely not. We were playing to win.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
We're not playing to let the other team score. It's
like get better.

Speaker 8 (13:43):
That's how you build character.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Adults are like Na. Your kids trash like Chris.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Like.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Clinic or something to get better. You know, I don't know, Steve.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
We got time for one more vote for this morning
is Great debate.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Do you think coach Greg was wrong?

Speaker 13 (14:07):
Well, I think the twenty five points is a little low,
you know, because things can change awfully quick, even when
kids are playing. You know, twenty five points isn't that much.
I think forty points would be kind of the cutoff
point where I'd back off. That's my feeling about it.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
All right, Well, appreciate you jumping in.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
A lot of people had thoughts this morning for the
Great Debate, and.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
A lot of people say that Greg, you weren't wrong.
I like that mercy rule. I didn't even know about that,
but I like that. Yeah, I think that is that
is a good rule.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
We don't want anybody, you know, coming from somebody who's
not necessarily the best athlete. I would appreciate a mercy
rule if I was getting beat twenty five to zero,
I would appreciate somebody looking out for my feelings as
a child, Thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
What any of the mercy rule?

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Now?

Speaker 3 (14:58):
As an adult? Geez all right?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
