Speaker 3 (04:50):
He supposedly got kidnapped.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Oh god, and the people who kidnapped him wanted guess
half a million dollars for his safe return. Instead of

Good Morning Drive with Christy Live on Classic Hids one
oh three point seven. It's time for the Great.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Debate daring money with a significant other.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Money's always an issue in your relationships.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
It has been for Eric.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday have a new debate, and
it's always nice when you bring something to the table.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
So Eric, thank you for calling this morning. What's up?
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Well, So I've been listening for a little bit now
and I need some help. So I was wondering if
people would think it's okay, hey, if I were to
take my wife off of our joint bank account that
we have together.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I don't really know if that's up to people, but
you know, everybody's got an opinion.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
So why so we have a we have a joint
bank account. It's in both of our names, and I'm
the primary breadwinner of the household. My my wife, though,
she's got a shopping habit. She spends a lot of money,
and you know, this is not an uncommon thing. And
I've talked to her about it, and I've asked her
(06:29):
to stop spending like so much money on shopping, and
you know she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I'll stop,
and she hasn't. And it's been like a few times
that I've confronted her about this, So my my last
option is just to take her off the account. It's
not optimal, but I just I don't know if anybody
else thinks that that might be a good idea, bad idea,
(06:50):
or what.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I think.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
It's always a good idea to have separate money in
a relationship.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
But maybe that's why I'm single.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
You know, I'm right there with you. I say, take
off the account, separate money. You don't have to deal
with it.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
There it is. What do you think though?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
We will put it out there for you, Eric, especially
if you're in a relationship, maybe you have some thoughts
on this separate bake accounts. Should you have separate money
or if you're with someone, should you have joint money.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
If you have joint money, you have no money.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Same my friend is going to a divorce and their
person just took a whole bunch of cash from their
joint account. One eight six six nine hundred one three
seven Tap the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app

Get you on next on Classic Kids one oh three
point seven, bat to.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
The great debate, Classic Kids one oh three point seven.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
If you're in a relationship, should you share finances? Should
there be a joint account? Eric called in he wants
to take his wife off of his joint account this morning.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
What do you think, Billy?
Speaker 6 (07:59):
If there's a legal incentive that you both agree on, yes,
but I'm not sure if it's even worthwhile to do
it on purpose, So I'm going to go with no.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
So no shared bank accounts?
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Why for safety and security at this point?
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Okay, I'll know, Travoute. Thanks for the call, Billy. Have
a great day.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
Yeah, thank you, have a good one.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Good morning, Edward.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Do you feel like significant others should share bank accounts
or finances?
Speaker 6 (08:23):
I have experience in that you have one shared account
for bills, and then you each keep.
Speaker 7 (08:28):
A separate account where are their money?
Speaker 2 (08:30):
So your money is your money, their money is their money, and.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Then just the bills is the only shared account.
Speaker 8 (08:36):
Well, you see, I'm married and I learned early on
whatever is mine is sure as anyway.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
Okay, it kind of works. You can have shared accounts
because she gets all the money. That's okay.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Well, hey, that's that's probably why you're still married. Did
you understand that. Thank you so much for calling Edward.
Have a great day, Okay, take care, Bye bye. What
do you think should couples share finances? That's the question
for this morning's great debate. Got a talk back? Hit
(09:09):
that red microphone if you're listening on our free iHeart
radio app anytime you can jump in.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Good morning everybody. This is Asian Elsirito wigh in on
Eric's situation. No, no, it is not okay to remove
her from the account unless you want a lot of
problems in the future if it were me and when
it was me, because you know, I try to be
proactive and anticipate things. I just put a certain amount
of my own money into a separate account, and that
(09:35):
would be a good way for you to control her spending,
control the budget and not be headed for divorce.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
All right, have a good day, everybody. Thank you, Asia.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I always love to hear from you. One eight sixty

Speaker 3 (10:08):

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Back to the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh three
point seven.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Thank you Eric for bringing this morning's great Debate topic
to the table. If you always, if you hear a debate,
or you have something happening in your life and you
want to bring it up, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday,
there's a new question. Joint finances is what we're talking
this morning. Eric wants to take his wife, who is
going shopping a little bit too much for his taste,
off the joint account. Do you think it's okay?
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Steve?
Speaker 3 (10:40):
What do you think about shared finances?
Speaker 7 (10:42):
I would have to say that it's always better to
keep your own accounts. You know, fifty percent of marriages
and couples break up and everything, so I think it's
better you could keep your own account and then if
you're going on something together, you put it out there.
But it's just too messy if you get one one account,
people start stealing money and everything else.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
So noted.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Okay, thank you for the call, Steve, have a great day. Brendan,
what do you think should couples have shared bank accounts.
Speaker 8 (11:10):
A good part of that I think comes with upbringing
and how you were raised and what you were exposed to.
If you came from a family where your dad was
the bread winner and your mom was a stayed home wife,
and whether you have the means to do that or not,
that's gonna automatically plan a seed that that's how it
should be. I think most men want to be the
bread winner. My personal opinion. She could have her own money,
(11:33):
and she could have her own account, but if you're
a man, you got to live up to that title
and be the man, and you got to take care
of your girl because at the end of the day, all.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Right, then, okay, I heard that. Thank you so much, Brendan.
I'll note your vote. Thank you for the call jump
in anytime.
Speaker 8 (11:48):
You guys are fantastic. Keep pumping out the eighty guys
are fantastic.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
Love you guys.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Thank you so very much, and thanks to everyone who
jumped in for this morning's great debate.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
The people have fulcan said it's good to have a
joint account, but also maybe for the bills, but also
your little side money.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Let your side money be that main money though. Ha Okay, no,
side Honey's either, Oh.
Speaker 6 (12:13):
You can just all right.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
