Martha Quinn Talks About Her Radio Hall of Fame Honor

a special guest this morning. We all grew up with
her watching her on MTV. You hear her every weekday
getting you through this thing called life, the original MTV

VJ and now one of the newest members of the
Class of twenty twenty five for the Radio Hall of Fame.
Give it up for the one, the Only, Martha Quinn.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Martha Gosh. I wonder if we can get a quote
from Martha Quinn.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I think I know someone who might be able to
make that happen. Congratulations Martha Quinn. This is so cool.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You know, a while back, I was nominated. I saw
my name on the list of nominees, and you know,
as they it was an honor to be nominated, and
I just didn't expect it. And it really is a
tremendous honor. What can I say, It's a tremendous honor.
Congratulations Martha Quinn. We are so thank you, happy for you.

Could we have a little in house group hug Radio
Hall of Fame ceremony right here because you know what
I say about Morning Drive with Christy Live. It is
the best morning show, not just in the Bay Area
but on the planet.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh Martha Quainn stop it, thank you. But see, this
is a perfect example of why I think you deserve
to be in the Radio Hall of Fame. Your whole show,
your whole personality really since you were on MTV, is
to celebrate the winds of other people and just spread joy.

(01:50):
You really do work to spread joy and kindness in
the world. And you know you did mention a group hug,
and that's how you start your show every single day. Actually,
how did that'd even come about?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
I can tell you because the music of the MTV
generation is so positive. It draws people together who are
into positivity and good vibes and into spreading positivity and
good vibes. And I feel like those of us who
experienced MTV and those who wish that they experienced that

(02:22):
magical time, it's very uniting. And there's I always say,
it's like we all went to the same high school,
MTV high and it is all of us getting through
this thing called life together. And I say, get in here,
MTV generation, Let's go group hug. Let's grewpug it out well.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
You can feel the hug with everything that you do
in person, when people meet you, when they call and
share totally awesome news, when you play the mixtapes. You
really are creating this environment where you're inviting everybody in.
And I'm so happy for you and so glad that
you're being recognized. We're being so totally awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I hate to be cheesy, but it is an honor
and I think I stand before were you today as
living proof that someone has been wrongly accused since nineteen
eighty one ladies video I did not Kill the Radio Star?
Did you tell a corny joke was coming from like
