The first weekend of Coachella is in the books, and
let me read you this headline giving you some highlights.
It's so funny, it says Bernie Sanders made a surprise
appearance at Coachella, Lady Gaga played an epic set, and
then weird Al Yankovic made his Coachella debut during Yo
Gabba Gabba set.

What is happening at Coachella?

Speaker 4 (00:23):
And some really cool performances like I didn't see him
but online there's that look really cool.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Well, because they do have the app now or you
can watch it anywhere you are. Whatever they forgot about that,
I'm just like, what happened that?

Speaker 2 (00:34):

Yo Gabba Gabba's Coachella?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Why not many tear it up? I thought it was
a kid's artist, is it not? It is kids show, right, Yeah.
I believe it'll be a SpongeBob doing a performance, which
is pretty wild. There's a lot of random people that
jumping on stage with each other. Charlie XCX brought out
a bunch of like big names like Lord and.

Mazy and Billie Eilish and y Savon.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Oh my god, her set looks like so much fun.
I mean a lot of it looks like a great time.
I love looking at everybody's outfits, just scrolling through all
my social will my friends are down there.

But Bernie Sanders DJ set was dope tod.

He was kind of campaigning or just trying to encourage
this generation to be ready to vote or get involved
in politics. He brought out an artist named Cairo Claro
and that worked out. I wonder if Claro asked Bernie
to come I'm.

Probably I hate capitalism too, Will you show up to
this capitalist event?

And then helped me make some money?

I mean to be fair to Coachella.

It's the first time we're actually talking about anything that's
happening to Coachella in years. It has been a good
job for them. Really had to figure out some way
to make it interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Attendants has been down to the last year.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, they didn't really have big artists the last few years,
so this year.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Is turns into like an influencer event. Now it's at
this point, like I feel like it just turns into
they pay it. They pay influencers to wear like brands
do to wear their clothes, and they get put into
like exclusive like club parties and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Yeah, it's Firefest. What's what Firefest wanted.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
To be right pretty much, but they're still holding on
hope for that too. But I'm not telling you that
story today.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Science is here for you though, because maybe you were
at a show like Coachella or any other situation where
there's a lot of loud music, loud people talking, and
you want to be able to hear the person that
you're sitting next to. So science says the trick to
help you hear better in loud spaces is to tap
your fingers while you talk. So the reason why this
is trending is because now people have taken it to

the bars and you can look around and people are
tapping and trying to talk to people. So if you
see somebody like doing that, they're just trying to hear
you better. Isn't that funny?

Yeah? It says something about our brain, like how the brain?

If I had to guess, as somebody who guesses about
things like this, the tapping of your finger, if you
can hear it, brings your hearing focus closer to you,
so you're not hearing the stuff outside of.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It, it says, fine, movement and sound are just intertwined somehow.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, so it's like, so you can't hear the thing
that's far away because you're focused on I think it's
close to you, which the other person is close to
you as well, so you'd hear that.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
That's my guess. It's good guess. That's a good guess,
not an educated one. But listen, we.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Wrong even okay, wow, all right, Well I was just
going to say, even sciences explanation was that they're just
intertwined somehow. So that's how far we got, and that's
what science says.

Scientists are getting lazy.

I don't know. We just found out what kind of
words on a couple of people. Some mice were happy
they could hear their friends, and there you go.
