Chef Richard Corrigan Critiques Meghan Markle's Netflix Cooking Show

Celebrated chef Richard Corrigan, known for preparing meals for the Royal Family, isn’t impressed with Meghan Markle’s new Netflix cookery and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan.

"I admit I watched With Love, Meghan – it's a bit pretentious," the Irish chef told The Daily Mail. "I don't like the pretence. California is all very Hollywood, it's all very samey – Britain is not like that."

Corrigan’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that the show feels "overly polished," while others have defended Meghan's attempt to share her passion for cooking and lifestyle tips.

Southwest Airlines To Charge For Checked Bags In Economy For First Time

Southwest Airlines may soon charge passengers for checked bags, a major departure from its long-standing "bags fly free" policy. The airline is under pressure to boost profits as fuel prices and other expenses continue to rise.

CEO Bob Jordan confirmed that introducing bag fees is one of several strategies being considered to increase revenue. If implemented, it would mark a major shift from the airline’s signature selling point.

In addition, Southwest plans to end its "open seating" policy in the first half of 2026. Amtrak took a swipe at the airline on X, posting, "Guess we're the only ones doing free baggage now," and reminding travelers that they can bring one personal item (up to 25 pounds) and two carry-on items (up to 50 pounds each) for free.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you
need to know for the day with Nina's what's trending.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
So there's one show specifically on Netflix right now that
has been getting a lot of hate and kind of
unnecessarily so in my humble opinion. But and it's the
Megan Marko one. It's the with Love Megan. So it's
like a lifestyle and like a reality show cooking kind of.
It's like a cooking but like lifestyle too, because she
shows you how to make candles and center pieces.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I did watch an episode or.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Two, but or the whole thing. I didn't make it
that far. I will say it's boring, but I don't
think it needs this much hate. So there's even this
celebrated chef, this guy over in the UK who used
to prepare food for the royal family is now chiming
in on this particular show.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
He's like, I watched all of the episodes.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
And he feels like he feels like it's unpalatable and pretentious.
But that's not even the bad part. He says that
she's stressing out the royal family. Now why because they
just want her to sit down and be quiet. Oh
so the whole show itself is stressing them out because
they feel like she's trying to get all of this
attention and then there's just been all this unnecessary hate
around it.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Can't she try to do a thing and let people
like right live. Also, she's a member of the royal family.
Now of course it's pretentious, right, Yeah, she has no
choice but to be pretentious.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, I mean she has a bee harvester help her
harvest her own bees.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Like, while you're like, whoa, who needs that, You're like,
that's kind of I would love to have a bee
harvester harvesting bees.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
In my arty.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
It is completely and totally entirely unrelatable. And she's now
left this planet and nothing she does makes any sense true.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
I wonder if you get to that point where you
have had all these servants and be harvesters and stuff
and you just don't remember what it's like to not
have a bee harvester.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I mean maybe like, where was my life before the
beeves By the same time, I heard like when people
hate on others, it's like if you had the same
opportunity to go and get a bee harvester.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
And I don't like how people are not honest about that. Honestly, Yeah,
if you could have servants and bee harvesters, you wouldn't
You'd be like, no, no way, man, I want to
stay in the trailer park.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
I don't think diff this though. I wouldn't need to
film it. I would just have a bee harvest.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
She was an actress beforehand, so I think she should
try to get back into acting. But she knows how
to do though, is to entertain. So that's like part
of what the show is like making eight different kinds
of for tatis for one luncheon.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
It's like, you have the time to do that. Cool,
you know.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I can understand.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
She found something to do so sitting down and being
quiet it just wasn't working for her.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I don't think she should sit down and be quiet.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
I do think she should stop pelting us with her
rich people nonsense.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I don't feel like a travel doesn't bother me, you know,
because she can go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
She can honestly do whatever she wants. It doesn't bother me.
And if it bothers, you don't watch it.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I got a fun fact for you.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Uh oh.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Their daughter was born in the United States, Megan Marco,
who is she married to again?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Which one Harry carry I.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Forget all the time. You know what that means?

Speaker 5 (02:53):
King George can get his revenge because she could become
president of the United States. A member of the royal
family could become president of the United States.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
But she's not.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
What do you mean are you talking about the child?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Right?

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I thought, may.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
God, no house.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I love a good Fortata. Anyway, moving on, it's a
basically second.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
I think she's a great artist.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
All right, I'll leave you guys on this note.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
It may be the end of an era for Southwest
Airlines because now they're looking to charge for checked bags
an economy for.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
The first time. That's dumb. They were the.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Only airline out there looking out for us with the
check bags. But they got to make money too, so
this is one of the ways for them.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
To What do you mean they got to make money?
They were paying for the flights.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
But air margins are razor thin under one person, so expensive.
You're charging me four hundreds You want the luxury of
flying somewhere?

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Do you know how much it costs per minute to
fly those planes down?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Shut up?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Why are we yelling about it?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Sounds like you work for the airline.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
I don't, but I just know that, like people complain
about things that are absolute and total.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Luxury didn't drive there.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
It was just more of the sit down, shut up,
sounded like a flight attendant down, shut up, more honest,
like I'm already sitting and not talking whatever, laptop away.
I don't have a laptop out what.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
It's on though.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I hate you, I know, but I'm not doing anything.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
It's just that you're a flight attendant. I'm a passenger.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
You guys, Can I get you something else to drink?

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Are you fly Alaska?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
So?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I don't know. Most of my flights are just delayed.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
That's
