Trump to Consider TikTok’s Fate Today

The clock is ticking for TikTok—again. Former President Trump is set to meet with Vice President Vance and other advisers today to discuss whether the U.S. should officially ban the app.

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, has until Friday to sell the platform to a non-Chinese buyer or face a ban. While Trump could extend the deadline, major players like Blackstone, Oracle, and other top investment firms are already circling with potential bids. Expect a decision soon.

NFL Owners Hold Off on Banning the “Tush Push”

For now, the Tush Push isn’t going anywhere. NFL owners tabled a proposal to ban the controversial short-yardage play, originally pushed by the Green Bay Packers.

While the move has gained support from 16 teams, many argue that banning it would make football less competitive and less exciting. The debate will pick back up in May’s spring meetings. Until then, expect teams—especially the Eagles—to keep pushing.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Though, We're still on the whole banning thing. So it
happened back till Friday. Delay it, and he says he
could delay it again. But he's meeting today with different
advisors and Vice President Vance to decide what they believe
the fate.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Could delay it again.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Potential investors include Blackstone and Oracle. What are blue chip
private equity firms? What's a blue chip mean? Does anybody know?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
It's like the tech companies? Okay? Okay?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So that will likely involve any of those to see
if they can keep it alive. I mean, he probably
will delay it again, but I'm not too worried about it.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
A make you deal, here's what you're gonna do. We'll
let you keep it. You can keep it. No more
making fun of Trump. That's the only rule, Like, absolutely,
no more Ai Trump.

this point, but tech talk.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Blue chip means a company that like has had a
lot of success for a long time.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
It's like a blue chip. Like it's like I thought
they only invested in tech. I thought that's what that meant.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
No, like a.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Lot of it was success instability.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Okay, okay, so that makes sense. That makes sense, So okay, we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Also just looked it up, like not like I knew
that off the top of my head. I just wanted
to make sure. I was like, what is exact I've
never heard it before. I thought it was a computer chip.
Oh that makes sense to.

Speaker 2 (02:00):

would be major investors from the technology industry as well,
so like everybody was right, But just so you know,

with that this week.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
For those who've been watching this story, I did say
tush push. What So NFL owners are voting on the
tush push and they have voted to keep it there.
So if you're not aware, it's a play in in
football that they are arguing takes away from competitiveness and
makes it less exciting. So the Green Bay Packers were
the first to introduce this whole banning of the tush push,

(02:45):
and as of right now, everybody still wants it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
So what is it? Say? What is the play? I
don't know. I'm just picturing a store I play. I'm
I'll fact check that in a second.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
But gets when you're on the goal line or you
just need like a yard, and then the center hikes
the ball to the quarterback and everybody.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Just falls forward.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Wait, it is stays kind of behind He stays behind
the center, so he kind of like on the center's
tush and then they just fall forward.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
How do you know that I knew that he would
know that, so I wanted.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Jewel in the sports You know, I was in sports
radio for a while. Now now I don't ever watch it,
but I used to be pretty into it, so I
still remember at least some things than it involves a
that's probably what, guys.

There's a lot of things to watch. The fate of
TikTok and the Tush Push are just up in the
air at the moment.
