the internet. Self burnt. Thoseare there. This is a family friendly

Now here's your host, Alec Beickelmanand the fans hell and welcome to Not

(00:30):

A fan for at least the momentwe are, we are a fan.
Short this evening, Dalton got runover a little bit at work and had
some other things to take care of. He had to move a couch.
Yeah, that's why the intro isnot as as it usually is. No

(00:51):
spiffiness, no no crazy wildness. You know, we're just happy to be
here on a great day. Womenon the swamps always blame it on the
swamp ass. It is extra spicyout today, exactly. Stay safe,
stay hydrated, absolutely, and ifyou stop sweating, that's not a good
thing, exactly. So always protectyourself, always be drinking some foods.

(01:15):
Always be good to go. Takecare of you. But speaking of taking
care of yourself, Chris, howare we doing today? We're here fighting
the swamp ass. We're living life, best way to be exactly, trying
to stay coolslut how this alid weekenddefinitely was enjoyable. So good weekend.
Yes, it was. We wereable to enjoy Saturday. Absolutely did a

(01:40):
little get together Saturday. I hada little fire, was able to hang
out, drink some cold ones.Definitely fun. Absolute anything else. I
kind of cut you in and Iwas gonna say the gall and I went
to see Dylan Scott Friday night. Not too shabby of a concert, beautiful.
She reminded me that a few daysbefore. She's like, oh,

(02:00):
I forgot we're going to see DylanScott. And I'm like, oh,
half fun. She's like, ohno, we we as in you and
I I was like, oh,okay, well I guess we're going to
see Dylan Scott. Well that's that'sa surprise. Yeah, I forgot all
about it. And she's like,I can't remember when I ordered these tickets.
Look excited when she ordered them back. She ordered them back in January
and I'm like, sure, ohthat was a weekend. And then of

(02:20):
course she got her sister and wepicked her up because she also went to
the concert. But before then wewent to see that the New Disney Inside
Out. Because of course my girlfriend'suh Disney and Universal agent and works with
them, so she's like, wegotta go see the New Disney movie.
And I was like, okay, well, my little film. It was
a good film. Kylie and Isaw it Thursday night. Nothing wrong with

(02:43):
that, oh I know. Isaw that. I was like, hey,
Bike and Kyley went to the movie. She's like, yeah, they
went to see Inside Out too,and I was like, makes sense.
We we were a part of thethree adult couples that were in the movie
at nine thirty for a start time. It was great. It was great.
We went for two o'clock and wewent to the theater up by where

(03:06):
she's at and we saw them onthe big screen and they said screens so
big. We literally opened the roofto get this in. I'm like,
what a cell that right there?Yeah, I'm like what a cell?
And I saw that and I'm like, he picked the best theater. And
she's like, I didn't realize Ipicked the best theater. They just said

(03:29):
it. I'm like, they justsaid it. We're literally had to take
the roof off to put the screenin. She's like, I was just
saying for the lounge seats, andI'm like, yeah, they are lounge
seats. They are comfy, bestseating in theater life is those lounge seats
changed my mind? If I'm notsitting in a lazy boy to enjoy that

(03:50):
movie? Am I really enjoying thatmovie? Oh? Absolutely, best way
to be But unless you're getting acheap movie. So sounds like a grand
weekend, wasn't too. They sithere and look at a card for Dalton.
It's the get out of penalty boxcard. They get out of a
penalty box card. Let me utilizethat in a long time. We haven't

(04:11):
also haven't been to the penalty boxin a while. We even utilized the
penalty box awhile, yeah, wealso have it been able to get everybody
and every now and then to sendpeople through the box. Yeah, we
haven't had the people too sent soadulting, but we all make it work.
But so Louie, oh I knowyou started then, So anything else

(04:32):
not much, brother, It wasa good time Saturday night. We enjoyed
it, and Devon and con endedup on a roof that was a grand,
grand way to put the cherry onthe evening there. Yes, yeah,
yeah, I miss out. Devon'slike I want to get on the
roof. I'm like, okay,And of course, of course the fireman
always well, of course the eM T. The whole nine wanted to

(04:55):
be on the roof as well,so oh yeah, he likes the Yeah.
Oh that was a good good time. We we we killed some we
killed some cowboys fires, We enjoyedsome beers beer. That fire was really
good. It was rocking, soand it was a good way to top
off what is probably what one ofthe warmest weeks of the summer. So

(05:19):
yeah, I hope it doesn't getwarmer. I know I'm bringing fear into
your eyes, but off from whatI've been here and at the end of
the week, oh I don't wantto hear about that. But then enjoyed
Father's Day with all with the pops, met him for breakfast, and then
went over for kind of an earlydinner late lunch with Kylie's family. There

(05:42):
you go, Yeah you mentioned youguys met up for breakfast. What was
an upper? I think? Yeah, I went over, went over for
breakfast and upper and then had dinnerover in cast Alia, but enjoyed the
pool over there as well. Thatwas a nice kind yeah, to the
point that I literally got out ofthe pool and got in the car.
That's that's how much I enjoyed beingat the pool. So no, only

(06:05):
that. So it was a goodweekend. It was nice to top everything
off. It was busy, andthe the problem is, I don't see
myself not having a busy weekend forprobably another couple of months. We got
a lot, We got a lotgoing on in the next couple of months.
You me, Brennan, the wholegang got a lot. Absolutely so,

(06:30):
all right, so you're ready toget through Mystery Pizza, you and
me quick bang through, mister worldwideis a step in the room. Yeah,
oh that's side over here, andwe'll get the tickety tack up and
exactly did All I know is thisMystery Pizza is gonna go good with what

(06:51):
we got here. Awesome. Makesure you got the right count. Thank
you for saying that, because Iwas actively switching that over now. It's
nice to be able to record oneof these and uh not be standing up
and right feeling like a hooligan.Well that's loud I don't need people out

(07:11):
there hearing the ads that they tryto ship us. So absolutely so we're
gonna do this. We're going live, raw, raw, straight through it.
Mystery Pizza. What do you think, Chris and I on the game
Mystery Pizza's usual game, what doyou think it could be? Smell it,
lick it, look at the box, but don't look inside of it

(07:32):
just yet. We gotta figure outwhat's inside. Oh, okay, one,
I've got one, maybe two,I might have two? Okay,
what are you thinking? So beforetoppings, hanging mushroom, the banana,

(08:00):
pepper, peppers, anything, yam, that's what the one was. Bacon,
onion, green pepper, mushroom. That's what I think we're got here.
Since you're over here, go aheadand do the honors you haven't done
the honors in the hot while letter. Get a beautiful thumbnail of the box

(08:22):
from the okay okay cafe for hookingus up, and we'll do it on
a three two one. Oh soI'm seeing pepperoni, peperoni, onion due
that looks fire exactly. Go getyou some, all right? This pizza

(08:45):
does that took like three seconds toPaul, So I don't know why,
but it always does. That's justmy phone. But this pizza, I'm
telling you, guys, now, this pizza looks fire. I am absolutely
ready to dig because I don't thinki've seen guys pepperoni from them in a
while. I oh, I knowit's wrong, and I can tell you

(09:09):
that, mmmm, that's good.I just didn't know what pepper it was.
If I could have called it asa hull apenion pepper, it would
have been a lot closer. No, I would have beenana pepper because last
few times they they like giving, which I'm not complaining. I love banana

(09:30):
pepper and pizza. They enjoyed thepickled the pickled vegetables on pizza, and
I think pickled vegetables do belong ona pie, right, I'm not picky
with it. So your problem is, I'm actually really comfortable in the seat
right here, and I don't wantto get up and go sit over there.

(09:50):
I know it's also really nice andcool over here. It's not bad
over there, but it's cooler forhere for some reason. I don't know
why. It must be because it'smore open over here, and there's not
computers. That computer probably causes somuch I mean, maybe it probably won't
be bad, but sometimes Competer likesto be like, what if we just
pause, or yeah, it'd bemy luck. I would you and I

(10:13):
would get through an entire episode andit will stop. It like we could
actively be recording right now and probablyprobably not recording. Hear me that played
over there. I'm gonna grab acouple of these before I head over there.
I was gonna say ticket to gobefore it back and exactly, this

(10:35):
is uh, this is one ofthe pizzas that would very much go well
for Pizza Eggs. This would bea Pizza Eggs pizza. And I have
no problem calling it calling that Spataspade because I believe, guys, pepperoni
is a superior form of pepperoni. We probably could call it a fans favorite.
I like this as a fan fansfavorite pizza. We got some real

(10:58):
good ones that we enjoyed. Iwish Dalton were here to be able to
agree with us on that line.Yeah, you'll have to. He had
to tell us three to TikTok.I didn't even know they had Dutch pepperine.
I can't remember. I thought discepepperoni was very few, uh,

(11:20):
very few, restaurants. All right, my dumb ass better walk over there.
Hm. Well, I'm gonna sithere and eat this whole pizza,
and you and me are going tosit here and talk about pizza. P
m hmm. Well we probably can't. I mean, yeah, we got
plenty to talk about. You know, we can't talk about anything and everything.

(11:43):
I'll tell you what, we haveway too much to talk about.
For the fact that, oh,the NBA Finals are over, the anthing
Stanley Cup is about over, wellmy mac, my microphone was off.
Well, I will read, Iwill reiterate, for the fact that we've
got a lot of shit to talkabout. You are correct. We have

(12:05):
from the NBA Finals finishing last nightto the NHL Stanley Playoffs maybe even finishing
tonight, with the Stanley Cup beingin the game five tonight and Sunshine Florida
and then Sunrise Florida. Absolutely, and I'll tell you that sun might be
shining him tomorrow morning when the Pantherswin this series for to one and Connor

(12:30):
McDavid again is short on another cupbecause brother, I I think the Florida
I think Panthers got This is showingyou and I were talking a little bit
about it. I know I took. I can't remember who I took to
take it off. I did takeDallas. I thought Dallas was damn good
bean and took Florida and I waslike, hey, he took Florida to

(12:50):
win. He's like, I didn'trealize I did. M hmm. I'm
like, I figured you want therematch. He's like, I honestly thought
so too. But hey, ifit means that I got a shot the
guests and he's solid and he's like, hey, I got a shot to
get tied for second, I'm finewith it. So and right now Florida
is gonna be able to do it. So I see nothing that will stop

(13:13):
them other than Connor McDavid absolutely poppingoff, him scoring points like crazy,
and he's the assistment and he's theassist king. You know that. Oh
absolutely, So if he starts dishingthem m they'll have a good chance.
But I don't know who knows ifthey're gonna start dishing them or not.

(13:33):
I will find out, and like, well, eight oh five, so
puck drops getting ready to start?Yeah, absolutely, so definitely check out
the NHL. Well if they arestill playing, And I don't know if
they will be or not, butif they're still playing, definitely check out
the Stanley Cup finals because it hasbeen a great race. Yeah, it's
been a hell of a series, even though Florida pretty much was pushing dominance

(13:56):
for games one and two. It'sbeen a hell of a posse. Oh
absolutely so. So next thing wereally need to talk about is the fact
that first thing, the NBA Finalsdid not do well. Well. I
did well for one team, butnot the other. I don't know about

(14:16):
views, and I'm interested to seewhat views are, but I would tell
you I think I think views aredown. Well. I mean, the
number one seed in the East prettymuch led by almost twenty points by the
end of the first quarter, andliterally Boston was off to a hot start.
The offense was rolling, which Ifigured if Boston was gonna win,

(14:41):
it was gonna be five. Itwasn't gonna be a full sweep. It
was gentlemen's sweep. Man. Theygot blown out in game four, so
for them to get clicking and rollinglike they did in Game five, yeah,
but like I said, I can'tbe too mad if Boston won it.
Drew Holliday got another especially with itbeing his first year in Boston,

(15:03):
and I Drew is one of thebest defensive guards to play basketball, like
right now in the modern day NBA, Drew's up there for defensive play for
a guard. And I watched Drewsince pretty much he got drafted into Philadelphia.
I loved it. I loved himin New Orleans. And when the
Pelicans sent him away, I'm like, that was the dumbest thing you ever

(15:26):
did. Yeah. Where the Pelicansare Yeah, not playing in the playoffs
or making the playoffs and getting sweptmm because he was one of the anchors
when the Pelicans won the first roundand got lost in six to Golden State.
The year Golden State went back andbeat Cleveland. Yeah, in twenty

(15:46):
eighteen. Well, and that waswhen they had Williamson stuff too, No,
they had that was a year theydrafted Williamson. They had Anthony Davis
and DeMarcus Cousins. Boogie got hurt. Oh yeah, boogie him fucking that's
a name right there, that's athrowback. Yeah, it's all missing.

(16:07):
I love watching him play too.Monster dude. Absolutely. When New Orleans
acquired him in the trade with Sacramentothe day of right after the All Star
Game in twenty seventeen. I waslike, this shit serious, let's go,
and then he got passed around likea bottle of Jack Daniels are on
the fire. But after his injury, shit, I thought he was on

(16:32):
like half the NBA teams right uh, Sacramento majority of his career, and
then got traded to New Orleans, played there for pretty much a season and
a half. Then he went toGolden State and then the Lakers. Now
he's playing a ball overseas, whichactually I think he this past year.

(16:52):
I can't remember what basketball league he'sin, but he actually won a chip.
I might be mistaken. Well,I have to say that back.
Yeah, this computer is kind ofrunning slow. This computer's kind of running
slow. I shouldn't even try.Ooh, I just hit zoom. That's
gonna slow my computer. Dumb.It just clicks zoom. More good,

(17:15):
But no props to Boston, andalso props to Dallas because no one really
thought the Mavericks were gonna make it. Oh yeah, and Luca and Kyrie
were phenomenal. What they the Mamsacquired Kyrie that was last season and it

(17:36):
just did not happen. But itwas late and Kyrie is not one of
those guys that can just pop puzzlepiece in. You have to build around
Kyrie and get guys ready to bearound Kyrie because that's who he is,
right, he is the oddly shapedpuzzle piece that sadly but surely somehow fits

(17:56):
in your puzzle. You just don'tknow where. Yeah, it was fitting
in Brooklyn and they got rid ofhim. Like imagine if we kept Kyrie
and let him play with mckel bridges. All right, Oh well, now
that Brooklyn's probably gonna trade mckil bridgesaway. We'll see. I hope not,

(18:18):
but we'll see. If not, there's always next year. Yeah,
and then in the next year.In the next year, there's a lot
of ship that's gonna go on withthe NBA. For the fact, I
think the Cabs are gonna start pushingguys out now. I wouldn't be surprised
that Cleveland move some guys. Brooklyn, I think we'll move guys. People
might look at Charlotte to get aguy or to try to build that in

(18:41):
because I mean PJ. Washington, look left, got traded from Charlotte to
Dallas and look where how he did. That'll be interesting to see how the
NBA will turn out next year withthe draft coming up and free agency.
Yeah, I mean they think theyalready drop early prediction. I think Boston
could do it again. Of coursewe'll see, of course, but who

(19:07):
knows what Boston they are just Idon't know. I didn't even think they
really deserve to win it this year. I felt like there were too many
injuries that were along the way.But also I wasn't following too much on
the NBA aspect, you know, right, I got more here and there.
Of course I paid attention to ita bit more in the playoffs,

(19:27):
yause, playoffs really get exciting. But I caught a few of their games,
and I'm like, I could seewhy people think Boston can do it.
They're like, literally they were upby almost probably they within an average.
They probably had like fifteen points anda fifteen point lead in the first

(19:51):
quarter, and then they just keptgoing in and courling. Yeah that's why
I said, Like, there wasone game and I think this past game
they legit twenty. They had atwenty point lead on Dallas right before the
end of the first quarter. Yeah, I had to go back and check,
but I know Boston was clicking bythis by Halftong solutely done. Mostly

(20:17):
how it goes and see how thenext year will look. Yeah, my
number one focus right now has gotto be the main gotta be MLB because
whether it's it's about All Star break, we are a month away and this
is this is the prime time tostart watching the MLB. All Star voting
did up and this is the ourboys. This is the real time to

(20:40):
enjoy baseball. There's nothing else towatch other than College Baseball World Series.
But it's just definitely heating up,absolutely, and the MLB is heating up
because they're in the They're in theElite eight for Cultural Series. Correct or
are they in the final four? They're in Omaha, which I believe eight

(21:00):
teams I think so. I thinkI saw those eight teams and one of
them is well, I think it'spretty standard. Typically in Texas, tech
made it iknew that. Let metake a look. North Carolina and Florida
State was playing last I saw FloridaState had the lead and then Florida's playing
some body. I want to sayKentucky. So yes, Kentucky, Florida,

(21:25):
Florida State, North Carolina. Iwas gonna say A and M Kentucky
well, yesterday was A and MKentucky Florida n C state in North Carolina
State. That's the other yes,so your eight teams were North Carolina,
Florida, Tennessee, Florida State.Wait, I said that North Carolina,

(21:48):
Tennessee, Virginia, Florida state,A and M Kentucky Florida n C state.
Yeah, A, C C SECpretty much was the ones in Omaha.
Pretty much. That's about all you'llever see. But now into elimination
games starting tomorrow. No elimination gamestoday. Yeah, it started today because
Virginia hasn't eliminated, but it's definitelyinteresting. North Carolina is also eliminated.

(22:15):
I thought my softlors stay get thewin. So definitely definitely heating up.
They must add some crazy heat overthere, some crazy uh weather, because
they postponed Kentucky Florida and that willbe tomorrow at eleven am. That is

(22:37):
an insane start time triplead eleven threeand seven o'clock tomorrow, So the loser
of Kentucky Flida then has to playat seven o'clock tomorrow night. Yep,
insane. It would be a goodtriple header. Oh my Ward, it's
uh, it's definitely heating up.And I am so prepared to see this

(23:02):
because I don't know how this isgonna go. Oh, absolutely, because
Tennessee's favored right now. But yeah, I think Tennessee is the highest seed.
Florida barely was five hundred. Floridawas thirty five and twenty nine.
M h that is freaking crazy, dude. But baseball's heating up. Brother.

(23:30):
We got to talk about city connectsagain because we got to talk about
these Dodgers unis, which are thesame freaking jerseys, aren't they They're Yeah,
they're I don't know if fully,but I call it their cream jerseys
because it's bringing back the Brooklyn Dodgervibe when they were in Brooklyn. I

(23:53):
am taking another quick look at himwho. I'm actually trying to find it
because I know I was pushing stuffon our social media pages and I can't
remember if I shared it on ours, so so I'm quickly finding it to
share it on our Facebook page.It kind of looks like birthday birthday cake
ice cream? Do you agree it'sdifferent? I definitely will say it's different.

(24:18):
I don't hate it. I don'tthink I hate it. I don't
think I like it to the pointthat I'm going to go buy one.
But I'm also not saying that it'sa bad jersey. You know, it's
not like all the Miami's and allthose that are just rough. You know,
these look actually semi decent. Souh. The style that it looks

(24:45):
like is it's a white, kindof a cream jersey, and across the
chest it says Los Angeles, butthen it has a white bluish stripe that
almost kind of looks like, Iwould say, kind of like a star.
I would say, like a shootingstar running across the Los Angeles.
Then it has an La La circularpatch on the right sleeve, the number

(25:11):
in the top left chest, theNike in the top right chest, and
then the back of the numbers withthe name under the numbers. I think
that is a feature that I'm nota fan of. Is the name under
the letters? Not a big fanof that? Do you agree on that?
Like guy said, it's different,It's it's weird, but I don't
know that. I guess there's worsejerseys to look at. Yeah, there's

(25:33):
also better jerseys to look at.So what what's your honest opinion on the
I'm indifferent on the Dodgers. It'slike, I get like it. I'm
like, at one point, I'mlike, why did they go with that
style? Then I was trying toread more on it, and like,
guys, then when I first sawit, it reminded me of them when
they were back back then, whenthey were the Brooklyn Dodgers. Yeah,

(25:57):
so I was like, okay, and then I I kind of was trying
to do a bit more reading onit, and like I said, I'm
not on it, but I'm like, you know, but it does fit
the Dodgers style. Yeah, itdoes. Is it over the top for

(26:18):
no reason? Absolutely? But youknow, a city connect I think I
can't remember if we mentioned or not, but they dropped it a couple of
weeks ago. Well you got Torontoblue Jays. Those are actually sharp.
I'm a fan. I'm a fanof it. Oh yeah, the color
style for the Dodgers, that's whatit is. And then the name plays

(26:41):
the name under the number on theback of the jersey. It's like I
said, it's the coloring that remindsme of So Toronto went with a similar
to Cincinnati vibe, and I I'min agreeance. I like it. I
like the all black jerseys, Ireally do. I like the jerseys with
a touch of a little bit ofcolor. I just I think they look

(27:04):
classy, you know. And thenthe Minnesota Twins dropped their City Connects too.
I think we talked about the Twins. I can't remember if we talked
about it or not. I thoughtwe highlighted it. Oh oh yeah,
yeah, no immediately, but yeah, they dropped it, but then they

(27:26):
just wore it. I think theydropped the jersey, but they were on
the road, on the road trip, so they couldn't wear it till this
past weekend. Mm hmm. Thehat is not bad. I can get
behind the hat. So do Ilike the color scheme of it. Not

(27:48):
really. I understand why they wentwith that color scheme because it's they were
trying to fit that Again, Cityconnect tried to connect with the city.
It's trying to fit that connection. It's also the connection to the lakes,
yep, which I get it,but I don't know. But right the

(28:10):
Red City Connects, the Mariners CityConnects. I'll be honest, I kind
of even though they're gonna change itnext year, I'm a fan of the
National City Connects. The cherry blossoms. Agree with the cherry blossoms and everything.
Kind of a fan of it.I gotta look at him. Oh
yeah with the cherry Boston's with theYeah, those are subtle. They'll probably

(28:33):
go with something more crazy. Ipulled it up on here too. That
probably got something more back of thewithin the Nationals, even though they used
to be the Montreal Expos. Yes, yes, that would be nice to
kind of see an Expos throwback, but right who who even knows? So

(28:55):
Bault and for While we're on thebaseball talk, pauls Gien, the LSU
product now pitching for Pittsburgh. He'sdefinitely doing good. He picked off Ali
for his first pickoff. For yourfirst guy to pick off trying to steal
a base and get the out?Who else but Ellie de la Cruz,
the fastest man in baseball. Yeah, insane being able to take him out.

(29:18):
That's uh, that's that's awesome,dude, right and that's first.
Are now six and zero in theGrimace Era's Grimace threw out the first pitch.
H want to know what Grimace isbringing all the love and all the
luck to New York exactly? Heneeds to bring another shake to him and

(29:45):
Mike come back this year. Whoknows. I don't know absolute So brother,
I h I know you wanted tochat a little bit about what you
got to drink because you brought ina special drink tonight because you and I
wanted to try because we had beentalking about it and you picked up a
case and he's gonna listen to it. So, uh, Dalton, I

(30:06):
had a special surprise beer for you, But since you're not here, we're
gonna have to talk about it now. So uh, actually we probably can
make a TikTok with it too ifwe wanted. We'll just rock with it
like this. I'm chilling like thisright now. So this is a NFL
topic too. If y'all haven't heard, I know we shared it. It's
been to talk a bit and theymentioned it on their podcast New Hikes.

(30:30):
Jason and Travis Kelcey are now partowners of a beer which has made here
in Cincinnati. Yes, and itis garage beer, not a batcand design.
It's a classic light beer and itsays beer flavored beer kind of gives
you the old feel of a littlebit of an older Miller feel, but

(30:52):
also some other older beer. Ihad it before, and I feel like
it's a lighter miller lot. Okay, that's just my taste for it.
Everyone's tastes. And like I said, it's brewed here in Ohio, it's
in Cincinnati, which the Kelsi brothers, they went to the University of Cincinnati.
Yes, so it's awesome for themto do it. And uh,
I was chatting with your old manthe other day because I took a can

(31:15):
over to him on Sunday and hesaid, the guy that first started it
actually went to Saint Charles, sooh yeah, but I was chatting with
them more on it. And Paul, if you're also listening, Uh,
what's his name? So, butyeah, what is it? Dalton says,
Oh, yeah, we're over twentyone where everything's good. Drink please

(31:38):
drink responsibly, don't drink and drive, and always drink with a professional,
and drink with a professional, whichunfortunately Dalton's not here to drink with.
And one they just started because thegarage beer is perfect for your garage.
Don't drink and saw, yes,so give us some love if we can.
Papa, don't mind. I'll behere, but I'll try to pick

(32:00):
up the slack. Yes, Ohit smells smooth. Oh for sure.
It's definitely like I said, it'sa liner miller like in my opinion,
but it's still good. Huh.Fortunately as out here a lot. I
kind of got a little warm, brother, that is like watery. I

(32:22):
feel like I'm getting hydrated. It'ssmooth hydrate or diedrade on that one,
exactly. So definitely a beer worthyour time. That is a solid drink
that you could you could drop quitea few of those bad boys. I
ver much you agree? So,brother, would you cool with taking a

(32:45):
quick break because I uh, Ineed a little bit of water. It's
still spicy in here. Yeah,we can take a quick break, so
and then we'll get into some ofour special pieces because I think we're pretty
much through the meat of our episode. Do you agree pretty much? So
we will be right back. We'regonna jump to a quick quick break and
we will be back with some moreantics. Hey, chairman, here the

(33:13):

fans, Now the moment you've beenwaiting for, the Fans Weekly, AFB's

(33:46):
and afews. Alrighty, we're back. Took our quick break. I have
chugged agallon worth of water, butwe're getting into it. A fbsus for
our closing bits. Chris, youready to go already as I'll ever be.

(34:07):
Alrighty, brother, who's your bumof the week? This fucking weather?
This weather is the bum of theweek. Swamp ass weather. That
might be an understatement. That's myhot and it's literally hot as soon as
you wake up, as hot whenyou're going to bed, and apparently it's

(34:27):
gonna get worse by the end ofthe week. Allegedly you here for it,
not at all. I'm not readyfor it. It's already bad.
Yeah, the heat, and Idon't see eye to eye to eye.
I legit will wake up and feellike I smell of bacon and it's literally
me cooking. Are you at leastcrispy? I had no fucking idea should

(34:49):
take a bite one morning, seeif you are. I don't know.
Brother, My bum of the Weekhas to be angel Reese for the fact
I can't beat too many want inthe w NBA world. What we got
to give everybody a little bit oflove for the fact that I, I
don't know. I just I can'tget over the fact that she still is
in a mindset that she thinks thatpeople are stepping out watching the w NBA

(35:13):
because of her. That is incorrect, madame. That's not right. You're
wrong if you ask, If youask, ninety five percent of the people
that are watching the w NBA,the reason they are watching the w NBA
is because they want to see KaitlinClark drop bombs and they want to see

(35:34):
it. I'm the one in thefive percent, but it's not just because
of Knittlin Clark. You were alsowatching it before, Kitlyn. I've been
watching that before. Yeah, andI've been watching that before Sabrina and Neskut
too. So the the other fivepercent are the casual fans, and there
might be I think it might behigher than five percent, but it's probably
up to that double digit. Iwill I will admit like angelies can't.

(35:57):
Like I said before, angelies can'tlike this class led by those two.
Definitely, how boosts the numbers?Yes, the Las Vegas AA, he
says, with Asia Wilson, KelseyPlum, Jackie Young and coached by Becky
Hammond. And look how Becky Hammondwas in the WNBA and then she went
into the NBA to be an assistantcoach to probably one of the greatest basketball

(36:22):
coaches of all time, Greg Papovich. Yes, it's definitely going up.
The WNBA is definitely going up.And I yeah, I'm one hundred percent
get where you're coming from. It'snot maybe two percent for Rangelies. You
need to get over the fact thatit truly is not all about you.
Yes, you're a great player inthe league. Yes, you're doing great

(36:44):
things in the league. Are youchanging the numbers drastically? I don't think
so. And she's also with theChicago Sky, which this guy is now
becoming the young team because her bestplayer got traded to New York. Yes,
yeah, so both find out, brother, who's your unit of the

(37:05):
week. I'm going high school football? Interesting? Okay? With the Rocket,
we're early not just any high schoolfootball a state winner. Oh in
high school football? Okay, aDivision two high school football winner. Okay,

(37:28):
I think I go where you're going. I talked about this team before,
and we are t minus a month. I'm gonna just round it up
to a month and a half.I'm high school camps start in. We're
getting everything interested. Exactly. I'mgoing delet it off because this is the
article twenty twenty four Nike Football KickoffClassic. This is played at the Nike

(37:58):
Facility in Oregon, oh the NFLAcademy Okay, and the Division two state
champion Maslin Tigers. Wow. NateMoore and the Maslin Tigers are heading west
to play their first game. Theyare opening the twenty twenty four season in

(38:22):
the game at the Nike World Headquartersin Beaverton, Oregon, on Thursday,
August twenty second. They will playthe NFL Academy, which is from the
United Kingdom, and the third annualNike Football Kickoff Classic, an event sponsored
by Nike and the NFL. Thegame's last six thirty at rolanda field on
the Nike campus. Will that betelevised, oh, I one percent sure

(38:45):
will think like Spectrum Sports Ohio willsend a send a crew out there to
televise it. Now, well, the big networks get it. I surely
hope so, because Maslin's been clickingit's an ESPN cost, it's a Nike
classic, that's a like Nike. You have to think that Nike is selling
some rights to this, So Ithink you're probably gonna get something out of

(39:12):
it in terms of being able towatch it. Even if I got to
watch it the next day as arecording, I'm perfectly fine with that.
I'll watch it on YouTube the nextday if I have to, exactly,
But no Massling getting that and Natemore like what Nate Moore did for the
school. Pro the football program isdefinitely great because Masson's always been up there.
They're always within the running to bewithin the final four of state playoffs.

(39:36):
But it's just phenomenal and to allthe Massline fans out there, t
I G yes. Also quick honorablemention. My coworker's son, Landing got
He was telling me he got theNOD and he went to Ball State yesterday
to participate in the college camp overthere. He was one of one hundred

(40:00):
and fifty students or one hundred andfifty players invited. Hell yeah, so
that James is coming up to metelling me about it. I'm like,
dude, that's freaking awesome. Anotherone there, just like I mean,
high school athletes making a name beforethe college level. It's just phenomenal.
Fuck you. I'm like, let'sfucking go. So give him the high

(40:21):
school football some love. We areclose to high school football and I cannot
wait. It's right around the corner. Brother. So I have to give
some love to the Mets because theyhave been the laughing stack of the MLB
for the beginning of the season andlast season. But the fact that this
whole Grimace joke is kind of bringinghim some luck right now? Uh should.

(40:46):
On June twelfth, McDonald's mascot,Grimace was the guy to throw out
the first pitch for the Mets athome, and the Mets haven't lost,
and they've scored fourteen runs and they'vehad twenty two hits in all of those

(41:07):
games. They're calling it the Grimacestreak. I am. I am very
much behind this. This is somethingfun. I hope that the Mets can
make this an amazing streak and itbecomes just an amazing MLB piece of history
that you and I will be tellingour grandkids when we're in a rocking chair

(41:29):
saying, I remember when baseball wasgreat. I have a question, which
would probably be a joke, whichquestion, can the Mets sign Grimace to
be a closer? I hope signthem to the pitching squadh care if he's
a relief closer starter, they're probablyjust gonna need him like five days rest.
Oh, something feels off. Dude. If you don't think that Grimace

(41:52):
as a closer wouldn't be twenty sixteenor oldest Chapman, you are in free
correct. Okay, that's what we'rethinking. Oh my god, here's the
thing, because they still got EdwinDiaz. Think about it, they had
Edwin Diaz and Grimace working together forpitching. I'm done, just I'm just

(42:15):
now give them the rings. Nowgive them the rings, now pay to
win. That's all I'd have tosay. It is New York. It's
New York, all right, brother, So no Dalton tonight. But we
have a nice little piece of funtidbit that is not DB's three, but

(42:35):
we're gonna call it R three.How about that. I don't know why
that. Dalton also has changed itup last couple of times. And dB
three was a draft style too,so we're keeping that goal, so we're
keeping the draft style idea coming. But we are gonna do something that Dalton
is not a fan of, whichis mascots and Chris, you and I

(42:57):
are very huge fans of nc doublewhen you could play the NCAA games utilizing
a mascot, but Chris and Iwant to add that to the NHL.
We want to be able to useNHL mascots on the ice. There is
and I think twenty three had themode where they call it the Mascot Showdown
and he gets to like mascots toplayoffs. But it's three v three,

(43:21):
so we're actually gonna take So wegot six picks, and we're gonna use
our six picks, and we're gonnamake a team forming all at least our
first line. Yes, so we'llhave six positions. We'll have our wings
both left and right, our twodefenders, a center, and a goalie,
because sadly enough, there is notenough mascots in the NHL for us

(43:45):
to make a full team with threelines. M hmm. If we went
into maybe the AHL or the CHL, we could EHL or the EHL.
You are correct. If we gotinto some of those we could. It's
not gonna lie. I definitely woulddraft Spike first. Overall, you're you're
telling me you wouldn't go after Ohoh gosh, you wouldn't go after the

(44:09):
Walleye. That's the mask for thewhat's the mascot for Cleveland? A monster?
I can't remember his name. Ican't remember that monster either. Huh,
I'd have to remember. But thisisn't that. This is the NHL.
So unfortunately this doesn't include the Seattletracking mascot. Well, it used

(44:34):
in our picture, but I thinkthat we could still add him if you'd
like. I don't. You're notadding him, not feeling him? No,
not the vibe. Okay, Soall right, I'll let you kick
it off. This was your beautifulidea. We don't have a quarter,
so we're gonna flip the s anySo, in true Dalton Brown fashion,

(44:59):
calling in the HUDs tails never fails. I'm first, you ride, so
with mine. So the fans NHLmascot draft mm hm. With the first
pick, Chris is selecting old reliablestinger from the Columbus Blue Jackets, the

(45:24):
fucking craziest left wing. Change mymind, change my mind, So brother,
I am gonna have to undercut youhere and we're gonna go right for
the throat. For the fact thatI got a first overall pick, I
have to go get Al out ofDetroit for the Red Wings because my man

(45:45):
is crazy. Pops off, Whoare you thinking? Number two? I
am surprised he did not take himfirst overall. Who oh, I know
who you're taking. Are you takinghim from me? My boy? How
dare the I needed to get agoalie. The goalie is number one over

(46:06):
so you're not gonna lie. Youand I had the same thing for goalie.
Oh you had. You had Alon goal, so you know I'll
let you. I won't ruin yourParde because he's the only thing keeping that
team alive. Yes, but I'mgoing with no other than the rattler chance

(46:30):
from the Vegas gun Knights, damn, because he will be a solid player,
the freak. So you better draftthe guy because if you don't get
him, I'm stealing him from youthis day. Absolutely, I'm going after
him right now. We have togo with wild Wing mm hmm out of
Anaheim because those are my boys.Wild Wing is common to be a part

(46:54):
of the time team for the Bikessir, Who you got next? Al
right, Well, my third pick, I'm taking no other than the Man,
the Myth, the Legend. He'snot featured in here, but we
all know who it is. Themotherfucker from the Philadelphia taking Gritty. Damn

(47:17):
it, fuck shit, I guessyeah, for some reason, Gritty wasn't
featured. So yeah, since Itook that to tease, yeah, I
thought, so fucking he because whodo they have in here for them?
No one, They don't have anybodyin on you, stupid. I don't

(47:42):
know who I want. I gottathink about this. Um, I wonder
know what, Man, this isa tough decision. I think I might
have to go yuppie. You're takingyuppie ye from Montreal. From Montreal,

(48:07):
We're going with yuppie. That thatright there just tells me everything I needed
to see in terms of a hockeyplayer. Absolute unit, gives off lumberjack
vibes. He's got that dog inhim. Who we got next? I'm
staying within the Metropolitan even though thisteam is Atlantic. I'm going with another

(48:30):
guy that I think is crazy, the Devil from New Jersey and j Devil
and Jade do Well, I'm takingthat's my fourth pick? What your number?
Four? Okay? So I havethree picks, You have two picks
left to go. Uh, Iam gonna go with Stormy going out of

(48:59):
this cyclones all the hurricanes, Yes, sir, I don't know why I
said cyclonesclon the jersey looks like acyclone, the same of the flag.
Just being dumb, that's really allit is. Brother, Who you got
next? All right? So Igot two left. I'm worried you're gonna
take my next. I'll be interestedas a Western Conference team. I'm not

(49:23):
gonna say because I don't want toinfluence your pick. I tell you because
I'm taking the team from the WesternConference. Give me Gnash from Nashville,
Nashville, Snashville incorrect, not theone I was looking for. So you're
looking at gene Ash, gene Ash, nash however you want to say it.
But solid guy, I got abackup playing God bless America. We're

(49:49):
going to slap shot baby. Nota bad one, not a bad one,
absolute fucking unit. Brother. Sofrom my my final one, I'm
taking. Oh, there's a set, there's two I'm stuck on. Can

(50:10):
you know what? We'll have aWe'll have an not. We'll do an
honorable mention after this because we doneed We'll say if someone gets hurt,
we have it lined up, wehave a backup. I'm fine with that.
But for number six, I'm goingwith the one, the only,
Stanley C. Stanley C from Florida. Okay, okay, so a man,

(50:46):
this is tough. I think whoI would like to go with next?
Good go. I am gonna gowith Bailey from the La Kings.

(51:06):
Bailey is a solid one. Heis gonna fit right in for my team.
Who's your honorable mention and or yourbench player? My honorable mention is
Sharky from the San Jose Sharks.Interesting, Okay, Mike is not gonna
lie. I like watching San Josehockey. Absolutely. I enjoy some San

(51:29):
Jose as well. Brother. Ithink my my honorable mention, it's gonna
have to be Moose. We're gonnago with Moose out out of Winnipeg.
Absolutely. I I was sitting watchingFinn and I just I wasn't feeling it.

(51:49):
You know, I'll tell you why. I wasn't taking Iceberg all right?
Brother? Can you throw your linetogether? Because I can throw my
line real darn fast. I'm actuallyI read on half a sheet of paper.
If we want to have some FUNBA, we'll frame it or we take
a picture and put them on socialmedia just because. Why not? So

(52:10):
my left wing, yes, Igot stinger. My right wing, I'm
taking chance. My center, I'mtaking Stanley c. Okay, my left
defender is no other than gritty. My right defender is no other than the
New Jersey Devil. And to backup my goalie, he's got a G

(52:32):
in his name. It's that it'snash from Nashville, Nashville, Smashville.
Alrighty m double chick. We aregonna double check on mine. But so,

(53:10):
speaking of hockey, three on nineleft in the Panthers game, Oh
okay, So here's my lineup thatI'm gonna rock with. Starting off little
left wing, I went, I'mgoing down the same order as you are.
My left wing will be wild wingcoming right out of it. Absolutely

(53:35):
Why why are you even playing it? Uh? Also another wing, which
is convenient being based on his name, we're rocking with slap shot at right
wing. I don't know if eitherof them are south Paw. That would
depend, but neither of them havepause, so I don't know if that's
very fitting. Number three, we'rerocking with the center and we are going
with Bailey from the Kings. Ijust feel like that's a good spot for

(53:58):
him. Kind of ride it up, be the dick of be the dick
of the offense, you know, the league guy on the ice to make
the call to like absolutely king ofthe jungle, king of the ice,
all the ride, all the vibe, all the ride, Lion. Uh,
Stormy's got to be your left defender. It's got to be the way
it is, ready to go.And then your right defender's gotta be Yuppy,

(54:23):
just absolutely tear you down if youeven get fucking close to the goal
let alone, he will make youhis bitch. And uh the goat himself
sitting in the old grease al withthe million fucking arms, ready to block
every shot that you could throw athim. And I'm telling you now,
with Moose coming off the bench beingable to play anything, I don't know

(54:45):
if Moose might be able to playgoalie, but I think Moose can sit
in just about any of these positionsand be pretty all right. I got
with him at least left like awing or a absolutely so hopefully we uh
we get some good listens on thisand everybody enjoys this piece because I like

(55:07):
to keep doing this the other week. Yeah, you want to hear what
other mascot mashups you want within thelineup, So we could do that too.
Absolutely, we can build a topsix mascots. We could build a
college football team, which didn't weattempt to do that already. We really
talked about college mascots, but Idon't think we talked about schools. We
wanted to rebuild and college football, all right, of course Mina here number

(55:30):
one school was absolutely, but andthen again a lot of people knew who
my number one was. Yeah, and if you didn't hear that, go
back an episode or two and listen, because it was the last episode that
we talked about that. Yes,thought absolutely because the fans were bananas B
A N A N E. Yes, hi, brother, we're about an

(55:52):
hour you're your rock and roll.Solid episode. It was a solid piece,
you know me. We rid itout, he wrote it out,
He wrote it out. We didgood and we did Miss Dalton. Yes,
absolutely, we would have ran thisover even more, but we got
in out simple. Probably could havehappened for years. Absolutely, But the
garages. The garage is always open. Garage is always open. That's a

(56:15):
great way to say it. Butthat's our slogan. That's right here on
the can. Any final words calledfor piece of information? Yeah, well,
actually two things real quick. Butyeah, like I said, garage
bear definitely good. I recommend it. German likes it. Twelve packs,

(56:35):
they got big hands for it.Local stores have it, go grab yourself
the case. And most importantly, hot week. It's gonna get hotter as
it goes. Stay hydrated. Rememberthe wise man, Bobby Bouscher, high
quality H two s ab so loot. And on that note, I will
thank you for listening to Not SurevisSports Fans podcast. It's to go.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
