Here's a new show called Boots on Netflix which is
getting a lot of good buzz based on the memoir
called The Pink Marine by Greg Cope White, and it's
a coming of age story in the nineteen eighties, packing
a lot of comedic punch and more than a few
emotional moments. The focus of the story is Cameron Cope
played by Miles Heiser, a young gay man in the
closet who decides to join the Leathernecks the Marines for

a couple of reasons. Really, he can't afford to go
to school, he wants to see the world, and his
family's about to move. When his pal Ray gets booted
out of the Air Force Academy because of poor eyesight,
he twists the arm of Cameron to enlist with him.
Despite the fact that it's the nineteen eighties, the era
of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, there's a nostalgic nineteen eighties
feel to the show, and has mentioned some very warm moments.
