Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to now streaming with Jordan. The unimposing little fellow
nearest the camera may not look like a great director,
but don't let that fool you. My name's Capra, Frank Capra.
He made some of the greatest movies in the history
of cinema.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
The kind of pictures I made were my way of
saying thanks American.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Some of my favorite documentaries have to do with American filmmakers.
So here's what I can highly recommend. It's called Frank Capra,
Mister America. Capra was a directing king during the Golden
era of Hollywood, born in eighteen ninety seven in Sicily
and living ninety four years. Along with the important biographical material,
there's plenty of detail about some of the great films,
from It Happened One Night to mister Smith goes to Washington,

(00:39):
Meet John Doe, and of course it's a wonderful life.
Capra won the Best Directing Oscar three times in five years,
but by the time he reached middle age, his career
began to ebb. Still, his genius is captured in this documentary.
Frank Capra, Mister America now on several platforms, and that's
now streaming with Jordan wz Boston's news radio
