Speaker 3 (00:09):
The movie Sinners getting a lot of buzz now on
HBO Max. It's a period piece set in Mississippi in
the early nineteen thirties. Two twin brothers played by the
same fine actor Michael Lee Jordan, come back home after Chicago,
where they likely ripped off a lot of gangsters to
open up a new juke joint featuring their young cousin, Sammy,
who's a master of the blues guitar. Opening night is

(00:29):
rather dramatic one a vampire and a crew of his
zombies attack the joint and want to possess Sammy the
musician's soul. The legend of the great blues artist Robert
Johnson making a deal with the devil is at play here,
with other themes fleshed out good and evil, family relationships, racism,
and the impact of music on the soul. It is
a horror film at times, not for everyone, and you

(00:50):
definitely have to watch post credits for a pretty cool ending.
But this movie centers has atmosphere that I love and that's.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
