Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're a big damn show here. We do our own
sound effects as me. But the drum roll for me
one and only Bird Chryscher, Who that was fancy man,
that was extra bird, that was big.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I can hear it. I can hear it in your breath.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
My man, my man. So gonna catch up, brother Hal
has Bert Chrysler, Ben and what are you doing? Man?
It's it's awesome catch up.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
It has been. It has been a whirlwind. God. When
was the last time we talked? Was around the movie?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah? Yeah, because I watched the movie. I thought the
movie was great, man, Uh, it was epic. And then
you came in a few times. But I think we've
had like I think we've only had your own once
maybe since the movie, because dude, things blew up, blew
up for you.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You you know, if you would if and I think
anyone who's listened that remembered when I used to come
in studio, no one could have predicted it. You can
never tell what's good. I mean, listen, it's it's been
such a bizarre set of life, life experiences, you know,
to to like if you go back and you think
of like me and Tom started a podcast out of
nothing right, and next thing, you know, we own a

(01:08):
vodka company, we have a five k well the Tom
Brady Roast. I mean, you know, even like you look
at the Tom Brady Roast, I don't think anyone thought
it was gonna be big. We were just like, we'll
do a favor for Netflix, you know, when no one
got paid and so.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
What nobody looked for that?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I don't think so. I mean maybe we maybe we
got something like scale, but no one was.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Like that was enormous. Dude, man, that was huge.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, I mean maybe we got paid. Who knows it,
I have no I have no clue. I have no clue.
But yeah, it's it's been a whirld. When I think
ever since the movie came out. I think the movie
was just it was just luck, you know, like to
be at the right place the right time and have
the right producer green light a thirty million dollar movie

(01:53):
for you and then uh and then yeah, and the
tours have been awesome and the podcast has been awesome,
and you know, it's like crazy, you know, even when
you just say, like when you look at Rogan, like,
I don't think any of us predicted him to be
this medium mogul that he is right, younger than bigger

(02:14):
than NBC. When we just start, we were just going
on talking about flesh flights. I mean back in the day, man,
I don't think anyone saw any of this coming. I
mean last time I did Red Rocks, I brought Shane Gillis, Yeah,
I don't think. I mean we partied and we hung

(02:35):
out and I was like, you know, I hope something
good happens in the time career. You know, he's the
biggest star out there.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
It is wild man, how it cascades down and everybody
around you know that. I don't know that force in
the middle of the whatever it is, man, it's you.
Maybe it's Joe, maybe it's Ri maybe Shane. I don't know,
but something, there's something there. You guys have just great
attitude out look, you bring it up on stage, everybody

(03:05):
connects with it. It's a riot. Man. It has been
so cool to watch it all blast off, take off,
see where you're going. And you know, Rea Scoobrinja all
the time like that's a boy.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Man. It's the truth. It's it's it's it's the we
We were all boys. We all rolled in your show.
We were all like we all had a connection through
mostly through you guys, but like you know, Joe was
showing you were tight and he just come in. He's like, yo,
you got to you gotta do their show and uh.

(03:35):
And I think it's also it's like, listen, we're all
so and I say this, but we're the general me
we're the last generation of radio guys, of of like
stand up guys, guys who got to stand up not
to get famous, but to get because they love stand up,
you know. And it's now and I'm not saying there's
nothing wrong with the younger generation, but there's a there's
a business model now in stand up and some people

(03:58):
look at it as like a career path of like
this is a great way to make money or to
get a fandom and then get into movies. We got
into stand up because we were obsessed with stand up.
We love stand up. I mean, if you had told
me that that I could work comedy works, I'd be
through the roof. At the time when I met you,
I was working the infro. I was like, Michael, was

(04:18):
just get the comedy work.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah yeah, man is hey. And it's been just amazing
to watch that, you know, what's that growth and you know,
watch everything blast out bro and it's we love it. Man,
it's been it's been awesome. So what's what's next? You
got another special at Red Rocks, you guys is coming
up October first, that's a Wednesday night. And uh, I

(04:43):
remember you being in the studio talking about I can't
believe I'm a Red Rocks in between like two shows.
I think you were gonna stay for a show or something.
Was like one of the last times we I believe
we had you in.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah, no, I think it was. I was. I had
always planned my shows at Red Rock around the band.
They could flowed me up too, so so the first
time I came in, I did Jimmy Buffett and and
Jimmy Buffett was like, do you mind if I keep
my stuff on stage? And I was like, I'm good,
you got it. And then I went I met him,

(05:15):
hung out with him, watched the show. Next one was Wilco,
met them, hung out, watch the show. Next one was
Goose met them, hung out, watch the show. And then
and then this year I just was like they couldn't
find a band, So I go, well, then here's the deal.
I'm gonna come to Red Rocks like four times throughout
the year. Just hooked me up every time I go,

(05:35):
and they're like deals. So tonight we're going to see
Red Place Strays, and tomorrow night we're seeing Sturgel Simpson.
We were here a couple of weeks ago to see
Widespread and we just come out to the Red Rocks.
It's a quick flight the great hotels and and so
we come out to the Red Rocks as often as
we can. We were amusing it.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
What a great hook, what a great way to do it.
And now and again that is it's got to be
the most badass venue on earth for comics. I mean Rocks.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
It's my Madison Square Garden. It's my Madison. Everyone always
thinks Madison Square Garden is the coolest place to pay
It's not. In my opinion, I care less about being
a Madison Square Garden, to be dead honest with you.
It's Red Rocks. It's Red Rocks, and everyone knows. Listen.
I'm a jam band kind of guy. I'm a music guy.
I'm a music guy, and the best place to see

(06:29):
any concert is Red Rocks. It's one of the epic
venues in the world. I mean that stage has held everyone,
the Beatles, you name it, everyone's been on that stage.
And to be able to grace the same stage as
these great musicians, this is my Madison Square Garden, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
So yeah, man, huge, How many times have you signed
your name in the tunnel?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
You know what? I can never find it. I never
can get it. I swear to God, I've signed it
in there three times. And every time I go to
a concert, I walk through the tunnel and I look
for my name and.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
I can never find That's funny, man, that's awesome. But
you know, at least you know of it, and uh,
you've been through it. A lot of people they just
they freak out if they knew that tunnel was there,
they knew all the signatures on it as you walk
up the steps and and whatever. Man, it's it's it's wild,
it's cool. It's iconic goodness. It's something everybody needs.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
There's there's a cool thing, especially as an artist that
is playing Red Rocks. When you go to a show,
you kind of sit in like the perfect I mean
the catbird seat. I mean it's like the it's like
right by the right by you can stand and watch
them do audio and you use. You've used that tunnel
to go and and go use the bathroom in the backstage.

(07:48):
And when it last time I was there, Dwayne Trunks
was like, Yo, man, yeah, I use my bathroom. I
got to kill in my green rooms. You need a beer,
grab one and it just go like walk backstage and
go go pilver through a green room. I remember Goose
was like, hey, my green rooms, your green room. I
was like, don't say that. I'll take it. Dump back.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
So let me pick your brain mail, What's what's next?
What's the next thing to one fold for you? For
mister brick Krashan family. But I got two kids now, man,
I'm out there working way yeah. Yeah, I got a
little bored and little girl. It's been awesome.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
It's that's the best man.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
So yeah, if kids show up in my future, that's
a shot. That's a big that's a big nightmare. I'd
be like, honey, guess what I Yeah. So I got
a TV show coming out on Netflix called Free Bird
in January, and I'm getting ready for another special. So
everything I'm doing in Red Rock October first is all

(08:48):
new material. And I took fifteen months off, so it's
I think what I'm writing now is like it reminds
me of like old me when I just when anything
was funny, like nothing out of theme, nothing out of
an arc. I don't have the hour yet, so it's
all over the map and it's just wild fun no rules.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
That's the best too, man, because we have witnessed and
you know so many times before through your lens things
get really funny, really fasting. You seem to have that
recipe for fun pretty much down and I'm anxious to
uh to hear it and see it and uh, yeah, man,
can be more happy for you for everybody around man,

(09:31):
where you living at nowadays?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
We're in La. We're looking, we're looking.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Are you heading Texas?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
In La? No, I'm not going to Texas. I'm Texas
often's overpopulated. It's so expensive right now and like ever
since everyone moved there, you cannot find a place at all.
And so we're thinking maybe Tennessee or Florida, or maybe
we were honestly thinking Colorado for a while.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yeah, man, this is here. We love to have you,
but yeah, man, Tennessee, Florida popping off. Excited for you, man,
excited for the uh for the Wednesday, October first date.
I'm gonna be there at this one, man, So I'm yeah, man, yeah,
fired up. Brother, it's uh, it's it's just awesome to
speak with you, to catch up with you, and uh
we wish you a badass weekend and have many more days.

(10:22):
You're in Colorado, Man, we wish the best out here.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Man.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
It's uh, it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Catch it should be good.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Man.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
There's a great brewery across the street. We're gonna take
a hike, have some cold beers, go see a great
show tonight, sleep in, go see a great show tomorrow,
get on a plane and start my tour.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Hell yes, brother, enjoy it. Uh, live it up, man,
and we appreciate you for the time.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Man. He enjoy those babies.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Brother, all right, man, Bert crash y'all pick up tickets
with Red Rocks. Much love you man. October first, you
guys gotta go. Man, he is he is something else
on stage. You will walk out of that place sore
from busting a butt, laughing so hard because I'm telling you, man,
he just he crushes. He he's a riot, and it's
it's just way cool to catch up
