Speaker 1 (00:04):
Put a fine Hello, lads and lasses, I'm a leper cunn.
In case you didn't know, Saint Patty's Day is right
around the corner. If you're not a fan because you're
daft in the head, then you can always stay home
and listen to the Jacob and James Undergo podcast. Listen

you can find their podcast on YouTube, Spotify or any
of less who you might listen to a podcast. So
this Saint Patrick's stay, be sure to stay safe, don't
drink and drive, and most importantly, have fun. And if
you're not celebrating, listen to the Jam James on the
Goal podcast and have fun with that too. And stay
away from me lucky charms, Rush shanky. I ain't afraid

(00:50):
of going back to prison.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Why'd you stay with me?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Jesus, I ain't dressing around like Walworth Davis to you,
I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Listen to it, my boner owner.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Welcome back to the On the Go Show, Episode one
and twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
James, Yeah, oh yeah, man, yep, we're.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Gonna talk to some doomsday castings. A sense of rant
coming from James before you get into that. Have have
you been what's been going on?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh? But thanks? Been going good? Man? Yeah? Yep, yep,
going great. Join the weather and join the springtime immediately.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
When when we connected, you were hot and ready to
discuss this. Apparently Marvel's making a big show and pony
pony show about this.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I originally didn't even know they were doing this today.
I didn't even know they were doing this at all.
I thought they were gonna wait till after Thrown the
Bolts are after Fantastic four, but apparently not, so they
decided to do the whole casting thing. And I've been
paying attention to a couple of streamers and stuff, and
apparently they've been doing it like every twelve minutes or
every fifteen minutes, and I'm just like, I don't know
why they just can't just show the whole cast. It's

(02:28):
like they're doing casting chair by casting chair and they
got this music playing in the background, and it's just
like it's not working. It's falling on deaf ears because
you've announced the usual cast, which I suspected. I understood that,
you know, you want to get the usual usual suspects
out the way. You're Christians worths of Vanessa Kirby from
Fantastic Far, even though I'm kind of curious on why

(02:49):
she was singled out from everybody else. So I'm curious
on that one. Paul Rudd, the Tisia Wright, Sebastian stan
you know Whytt Russell, you know, it's just this was
the usual suspect. I'm curious on why some people were
singled out more than the others.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
How are they singled out?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Vanessa Kurby is Fantastic four, so it's like you would
think that you would kind of see her with the
Fantastic Four. You wouldn't think, you know, everyone's being singled
out and somehow, in sometime, in some form of way.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I see, So they're not they're not introducing like Vanessa Kirby,
Pedro Pascal.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, they're all singled out. Okay, I'm curious on why
why is it? Like, you know, why is it like that,
and then you know Sebastistan, Uh, they did do Sebastistan.
And why Russell together? You know, they're in Thunderbolts. Why
Russell us agent? So I'm like, okay, that makes sense.
Then they got you know, Anthony Mackie was actually the
first person up. So you know, it's just you know,

(03:45):
it's because it's kind of odd how they did it.
You know, I don't know why they're doing it like this.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I'm sure the theorists out there are already composing reasons
why they're singling out Vanessa Kirby and and you know
why Captain van Dot captain why Sam Wilson I can't
say his real name. Why why Anthony Mackie is first?
Why you know, certain certain names are popping up before others.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
You know, I'm sure why Anthony Mackie's first. You know,
he's the leader, he's supposed he's supposed to so I
get that. But I would have thought they would have
done this after Fantastic four, you know, and went on
and gave us the cast in, But apparently they didn't
want to do it that way because hopefully this doesn't
kind of spoil it for anything.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Right, Well, I mean, I know, like the last couple
of weeks, there's been talks or discussions on who's actually
in this movie. I know Paul Rudd and some other
actors have been interviewed and they've been questioned if they're
going to show up in Dooms their Secret Wars, and
their answer was kind of just you know, oh, we
haven't been contacted yet, but here we go. They they
just confronted Paul Walker's ant man, so I I mean,

(04:50):
obviously they probably knew this going in. It's just Marvel's like, hey,
don't say anything because we're about to do this dog
and pony show over here.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I would have thought they would have only rolled out
because to ask the person to stay on the stream
for twelve hours, we got forty semi names coming out,
you know what I'm saying. That's a lot of names.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Most people are just going to dip out and show
back up tomorrow when all the podcasters and influencers and
whatever are covering it.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, I mean it makes a lot of sense. You know,
or later today on IGN or whatever, do a deadline
a variety of one of those little little tabloid things
say wait, why do it this way? Every fifteen minutes,
and you probably thought that, you know, Marvel thought like, oh,
this is this is smart marketing right here, because we
got people's eyes are going to stay tuned in. But

(05:37):
I don't think they took into account that people still
have lies.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, of course, I mean it's the middle of the
work day right now, at the time of this recording,
it's the middle of the work day.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
It's crazy, man, it's crazy. So hopefully you know, they
announced it, so while we're doing the podcast, hopefully by
the time we get off of it, they would have
announced what thirty thirty names or maybe twenty five names
something like that.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Well, look, I can pull up the live stream and
I'll just h I'll just lower the volume. Here we
got Simu Liu is the next chair or the most
current chair. What I don't like about this is that
all the other chairs are blurred out, so I can't
really like I'd have to rewind this. Evan Moss, Boss
of Rock is confirmed. Evan Moss and Semu Liu or

(06:25):
the two newest names to appear as we started recording.
And who he is Shuan.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Chi Oh okay, well yeah, okay, we kind of assuming
that it's like and see that's another thing too, the
names that we're that we're seeing, it's not really like
balls to the wall, like, oh man, this is a
hell' surprise, can't wait to see this? Right, we kind
of already knew these names going to be in here,
Like who else is going to be in here? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:49):
A bunch of these actors have been part of the
all the newer stuff, like all the newer films that
have been coming out. I mean, the real surprise would
be just like out off the wall, like Tom Rouse's
chair showing exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
That's a surprise. I'm just saying, Denzel Washington and pop
up or something.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, yeah, I mean he's supposed to be in in
uh Black Panther, Black Panther three. Yeah, Oh that's funny,
that's cute. They give Paul Paul Right a little chair
because he's ant man.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Silly, which I mean after a man calling to Mania, like,
I don't know who's excited to really see him?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah right, well, I mean I guess to see what
he's been up to. But I mean that's another thing.
A man, really a man set the stage for King
and now we're pivoting the doomsday. So It's like, Yeah,
how how is ant Man gonna fold into this?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, how's he gonna explain this? Like after he just
went through going through what he did with King does
make sense? And another thing, is this really the Avengers?
Because it's not really the Avengers?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Well no, yeah, because there hasn't there. I mean there's
not an acting Avengers team at the moment currently in
the NCU timeline, as as per Captain or four. Right,
Like they make that very clear in that movie that
there's no Avengers. They've been disavowed. You know, Sam, Sam
Wilson may Or is starting to work on a new
Avengers team.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
You got a fantastic forward here. You got a couple
people that have never been a part of the Avengers.
So it's like, is this really the Adventures? It's just
calling the Adventures? Are you calling the Avengers Doomsday? Because
it's just a tagline?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
It's called Avengers because you're just you're taking all these
heroes and you're teaming them up into one big team.
And that's the big that's the only superhero team outside
of the X Men, but that's the only superhero team
in Marvel Comics that's like big enough to draw in people, right,
it's the Avengers. So but yeah, I mean you have
a point, there are there is no Avengers currently and

(08:43):
all all these names there are they just gonna suddenly
be part of the Avengers, you know, at what's happening here. Obviously,
doctor Doom is gonna be a big pivotal plot point.
It's called Doomsday. But yeah, it's very curious, very very curious.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
It's weird because like it's not really Avengers, it's a
cast of just Marvel heroes are rolled into one. That's
pretty much what it is. Like Fantastic four already have
a group. You can just call the movie Fantastic four
Dooms that he wanted to.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, you could have, but yeah, you're I think people,
I don't know, people would find that weird to like it.
If you did Fantastic four First Steps and then immediately
a sequel months later, that would be very brave and
like bold, honestly, that would be very bold. If feel
like if it's like, yeah, actually this is a Fantastic
four sequel. We did them both back to back. We

(09:37):
did it that way to set up Secret Wars, so
you got Fantastic you're introduced to them Doomsday comes and
then or Doom comes and then you got Secret Wars coming.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Up or whatever. And I'm assuming that doctor Doom is
not the only villain in this film, so I'm curious
to see who's the ancillary pieces that he'll be, you know,
the little Hitchman he'll be running around with, you.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Know, I know. The big theory is he's gonna have
like Hydri happ or Madame Hydra for Black Widow, or
like the evil Hawkeye and like evil Spider Man or whatever.
And I really hope they don't go that way because
I really want Doctor Doom to be his own character.
I know he's Robert Downey Jr. But I really want
him to be his own character. I don't want this
to be like, oh, this is alternate timeline Tony Stark

(10:18):
that became doctor Doom, because that's a big theory floating
around right now. I don't know if you notice that.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah, I've heard it. I've heard it. I don't really
agree with it, but yeah, i've heard it. Me neither.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
It's like Tony survives the Fanos fight and then he
uses time travel shenanigans to become Doom because he's Tony,
and that's he doesn't know when to quit. So I
don't like that theory. I really want doctor Doom to
be his own character. He goes he's I mean, obviously
he's big enough to be his own character, and he's
he's also really petty between him and him and Reid

(10:49):
Richard's like the whole rivalry thing got going on, and
like the Shenanigans that Doom does to prove that he's
like the best.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
You know. The only difference is with when we had
Fanos that was the big bad. He had people that
was in his circle, so you have to you have
to order, so that kind of helped, you know, the
ancillary pieces around the other the other cast.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
You're right, I don't know who Doom would have because
Doom doesn't normally have henchman.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
He doesn't sometimes partners. He usually like partners up with
like other villains.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeah, I mean, but you can't. You don't have Red
Skull or because you can't bring Red Skull back into this.
You killed off Moodoc, so you can't even have Modoc.
Modoc would fit as his henchman honestly, or like his partner,
whatever you want to call him, because that's that's kind
of Moodoc's role, like similar to what he was in Quantamnia,
but they killed him off. Unfortunately. They should have just
had him get out honestly.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Because you know, it would make sense for him because
you can't have him in every single scene in the movie,
So you have to have him, you have to have
other That's why. You know, as much as I hate
to say, you probably probably will see Chris Evans show
up in this movie if we get through the cast.
You're right, if we ever find out who else is
in this cast, uh, you probably will probably will see

(12:02):
an evil version of Captain America said, way, it can
kind of yeah, help the other cast.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Right, or or if the if the concept art leads
to anything, which the Russo brothers claim it's not. It's
not real concept art, but I mean that's they can
just say that. They could just they could just be
saying that. But if it lends to anything, possibly he
has a doctor Strange on his side, because in the

(12:29):
in that concept art, there's a doctor Strange that's like
next to his throne. So I don't know, man, this
whole this, this movie, this whole lead up to this
next Avengers film has just been a giant mystery. It
is curious to see where they're gonna go with this,
and like, I mean the casting. You're right, they should
just like announce all the cast because like this is unbearable.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
If you announce the whole cast, you can eat off
of this for a whole day, people can They can
then edit their videos. People have time to edit their videos.
They have time to do to do the work and
do all the stuff they have to do to get
these videos going. Now they have to stop and wait
and get through every cast member to actually get to

(13:14):
the actual story. They're not taking to account that people
have to do podcasts to talk about this stuff.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Right, I mean they yeah, they they have content. They
have a whole content calendar. It's it's this is a
whole day. And I'm sure there are live streamers who
are more than willing to do the twelve hours or
however long it's gonna take for them to announce. You
know who's on this film?

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Well, I was watching christ and Harlow. Christian he's splitting
time with one of the other coworkers on his old
co partner, one of his partners. So he's splitting time. Yeah,
he's gonna like cover like half an hour, and then
he's covered half the hour right now, so then his
other partner's gonna come in and cover the rest of
the hour.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Probably what's wild is, you know, how do you cover
this because nothing happens every except for every fifteen minutes, right,
so you you really are just talking.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Well, you got your live chat, you got your live
chat that your live chat is essentially the other partner
you're right, yeah, questions right right along with you.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah, everyone's asking questions. But I mean at a certain point,
the conversations just kind of gets circular. So I assume
like you you have talking points prepared to like pivot
and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Oh yeah, I mean yeah you have you have that,
But also too, you have other people that you can call.
You can just be creative with it, you know. So
it is it's just a little bit different when you
do it a visually because it's like I said, those
super chats really come in super chats, and then you
have people that that's in the normal chat room, so
you can talk to them as well. I know, the
break room they just came on and so they they're

(14:45):
just covering this thing. The breakroom is kind of like
I don't want to say they're the Marvel adjacent, but
they kind of are because they really cover everything Marvel.
They don't really cover DC as much, so you know,
they kind of bought and paid by Marvel a little bit,
so they don't really have have an opinion that's really
worth listening to. You know, in my opinion, they didn't
used to be like this, like but they are now.

(15:09):
The break room is a part of the new rock Stars.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
All those guys.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Yeah, all those guys. Don't get me wrong, I love it.
I love the channel and they're great, Like they're not
toxic or anything like that, but you know, they kind
of they're skewed Marvel. So I'm pretty sure they're not
going to say anything negative about this this live stream.
But this is tedious. It's very tedious.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Oh yeah, it's very tedious. I mean, and it still
has to move to another chair. We've been we've been
recording for a little bit now and still just Seemu
Leo's name on here. It's the waiting for the update.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Forty names. I wish you could find out how many
names have been there now so far, so that what
we at least know how what's the rest of the
account we got to go through, like it's got to
be at least about twenty names so far, or maybe
seventeen like that. That would make the most sense, because
I don't remember them doing this for Infinity War. I
think a Ford Infinity War they just announced the names

(16:03):
and just said boom.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah. Well, I think they had a comic con, you know,
around the time, so they were like, hey, here's everybody
who's Infinity War.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
True.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
True, I mean at that point it was all set
up in such a way to where the pieces were
already in place, like you already kind of knew who
was gonna be an Infinity War. What surprised people was
the actors who weren't going to be in it. And
then it was like, no, they're they're gonna show up
in the next movie. We're splitting the cast half and half.
All right, Hollywood Reporter has a list it out. Let

(16:31):
me see. So far, we've got Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby,
Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan Paul rudh, Letitia Wright, Wyatt Russell,
Evan Moss, Baca Rock and simul Leo. So we're at nine.
We are we are one fourth the way through the casting.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
You're kidding me. Nine people have been announced.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Yeah, only nine people so far.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Forty people was just just what I heard. It could
be more than it or less.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
I feel like less would be more desirable because forty
people in one movie, I mean, Endgame had quite a few,
quite a bit of people, and how they broke it
up was pretty good. But forty people is a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Forty people and we all we got is nine people
so far.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, we only got nine people. I'm surprised, Letitia writes
in this actually because you know, at the end of
Black Panther Too, it kind of just seemed like she
was out. Yeah, I mean, I mean, there was a
little bit of controversy with her out outside of the movies,
but just like her character in the film didn't even
want to be a Black Panther, and then it really
seemed like at the end of it, she was like,
all right, I did my thing to save the country.

(17:36):
Now somebody else can take over. So I'm surprised to
see her back.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Well, you would think that she would probably be in
Secret Wars since the Doomsday.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Maybe she won't be back as Black Panther, but just
you know, as as Shury. I mean, she's Suurrey either way,
but like you know what I mean, she won't she
won't have the black panther mantle, but she'll still be
like the tech girl.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
And also to a lot of these people are going
to play ancillary roles, so they probably like mid mid level,
tid level mid level roles, so they all be in
there all the way. You're right, you know, but it's
just just so weird, man, all of this marketing has
been terrible.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah. I kind of feel like your your bigger stars
are gonna be obviously Captain America, Captain America, Bucky, and
then the Fantastic Four are probably gonna play a huge
role in this because obviously Doctor Doom and that I
think this is the one after Fantastic Four, right, because
Fantastic four comes out and then this is the next
one in the.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Series, and then you're gonna have a middle movie in
between Secret War between Dooms Things.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Spider Man four. Yeah, so so I see, I see
Captain America, Bucky Barnes, the Fantastic Four being major players.
A man, shurry, John Walker, not so much. Four could
potentially be a major player in this one.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yep, you know.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
I mean, he's gallivanting in space with Eternity. So Holland, Yeah,
Tom Holland. I don't see Tom Holland being being a
big character in this because Spider Man four is the
connector piece between Doomsay and Secret Wars.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Yeah, yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
So he'll probably be in this for a little bit,
and then Spider Man four happens and then he's a
bigger role in Secret Wars, or he might not be
in this at all, because it might just he might
not be a part of this, and then Spider Man
four happens, and Spider Man four might be not so
much a connector piece but like a kind of like
how Ant Man two was, where it's like it was
happening at the same time as Infinity War, and then

(19:31):
then it leads in the Secret Wars, like they might
do another another that situation, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Yeah, because I heard it was supposed to be Spider
Man four in the middle of this Secret Wars Doomsday.
But also it might be another secret movie in between
it as well. Oh there's second too, Yeah, it might
be another one too, because Amber when Infinity War came out,
it was when Infinity War came out. It was two
movies two yeah, milber Well, Ant Man and Wasp, and

(19:58):
then you had also Miss more Marvel.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Was it Miss Marble? I thought Miss Marvel came out. Yeah,
I think Captain Marvel came out before, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Came out, well, Captain Kathain Marvel came out after the
Infinity War because remember uh, your boy Samuel Jackson, he
had pushed the button in you know, signal for Captain
Marvel and so that. Yeah, so that was the big,
the big movie leading up. And then you also had
at Man and Wasp well you know they were also

(20:31):
it blipped to as well. So you had two movies.
So I think the other movie too, I'm not mistaken.
Could be Thor. It might be Thor.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Another Thor movie.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
It should be. Honestly, it needs to be Thor. It
needs to be Thor because I'm telling you, man, we
really gotta get that taste out of my mouth. You
really gotta get that taste out of it.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Could be.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Or Doctor Strange.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
I can see a Doctor Strange.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
It could be a Doctor Strange movie, because I forgot
I did hear about that. I did hear about Doctor Strange.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Yeah, because because Charlie Saron and Doctor Stranger running around
the multiverse with incursions. So yeah, that that would actually
make sense. That actually makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Yeah, yeah, you know what I forgot about that. Yeah,
so it could be because there was two movies with
the Infinity War after that, and so yeah, two movies.
They just have an announced the other one. We know
the other movie Spider Man, but we don't know the
other secret movie.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Breaking news, we got a new casting Florence pugh O.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
So, like I say, man, this is gonna be going
on all day, so it's just ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
But by the time this episode comes out, all the
casts will be revealed and well we'll probably have a
have a more comprehensive idea on what's to come. Yeah yeah,
Paul Ago, we're getting arrested with Jacob and James. All right,

(22:11):
well hey, I mean that's that's all I had had today,
Just so you know, before we get out of here,
there's been another casting with Kelsey Grammar. James.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Oh he's playing Beast.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah, he's playing old school Beast. So oh and Lewis
Pullman as well, who was it? No idea hold on
Lewis Pullman is an American actor. He's a son of Bill Pullman.
He was in Top Gun, Maverick. He was in the
Stranger's Preying Night. What characters were you, sir?

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Hmm? Interesting?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
The latest movie he was in that you made. He
was in the Salem's Lot movie on Hulu.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Oh yeah, I saw that movie.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Yeah, So who were you in Salem's Lot?

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Might have been a star.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Ben Mahers, So I got yeah, the lead character. Yeah,
he was the lead. So that's that guy. I don't
know who he's playing, but so there you go. We
got we got a new thing, we got a new casting.
I guess Kelsey. Yeah, but it's also kind of a
low keys thing. Surprised because we haven't seen him since Marbles,

(23:16):
and that was an after credits scene. You know, they
could have easily just.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Dumped that and nobody watched the Marbles.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Yeah, exactly, which is kind of upsetting, because that's that's
a fun.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Movie, fun as fun as a little bit.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Of I remember you like that movie.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
I also remember I had a lot of problems with
the movie too.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
You can have problems with it, but you can also
like it. So I remember you liked it.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
I have to go back in archive yeah, yeah, go
back in our cove.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
But I'll go and play there. I'll go find the
episode if we I think we covered it's an archive.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I definitely remember that.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, I'll I'll insert it here if you said good
things about it. If you didn't, I'll let it go.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
But I probably said a couple few things, but I
don't think I would overall. He said that it was
just a horrible Well, it wasn't a horrible film, but
I definitely have some problems with it.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Yeah, I mean, well that's understandable. I'm not saying you
praised it.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Because everyone else was the ones that was just trashing
it to death.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yeah. Well, it's kind of calmon these days. So well, anyway,
