Round of Area Baseball completed in seven A.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Some of the other schools have already completed their second
or maybe third or all rounds. But Oplik is in
Auburn and Central and Smiths have played one round and
we're going to the Hambleton's outline. Hambleton's has the location
in ogle Tree and on Magnolia. Two restaurants one name.
Both incredible places to dine and we appreciate what they do.
Ohpla like high schools where we go. Bart Butler's de
(00:24):
head coach of the Dogs and for the first time
since turning seven a op like a one A series
in baseball, and Bark Butler is the head coach who
was leading the Dogs of that win last those two
wins last night.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Good morning, coach, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Are you a man?
Speaker 1 (00:39):
We good coach.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Congrats on those double wins yesterday, Buddy, good job, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, it's really hard and.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
It was a good night.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Well it must have been. Let's talk about it. Coach.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
You lost your first area game Wednesday at Budall Park
three to one and a close one, and then you
had your backs against the wall and needing a victory.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
He went over to Smith. Yes, stay in one too.
So let's talk about those victories. Coach.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, well we Brody Jones came up to me for
or Wednesday after the game and say he wanted the ball,
and so I just double checked with him yesterday. And
when your captain says he wants the ball, you had
him the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Go get us a w And that's what he did.
And you know, we had a big third inning last night,
scored ten in the third inning last night, and then
kind of put them away thirteen and one in game one,
and then you know, kind of Game two was crazy.
It was back and forth, and I told the guys
(01:40):
and just stay at it. You know, now lot's going
our way, and it wasn't. And we just kind of
stayed at it, stayed in the fight and found a
way to win. And I was really proud of those
guys because they could have folded at any time and
they just stayed in the fight and found a way.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
There you go, you need that way, Bart Butler Ope,
like a bulldog head coat dogs went two games. I'm
trying to get him up on game changer.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Coach, what was it? Give me the score?
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Because I can't get him pulled up here.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
All of a sudden, it was, Uh, we won game
one last night thirteen to one and then five to three.
There you go, Game two, game three games.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Brody must have pitched good in that Game one, coach,
he went at it.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
He did him at five innings, gave up four hits,
one run, struck out five through eighty six pitches, and
then I told him, I taught him during VP yesterday,
it's the bend. You got one hundred and twenty and
you might have to use all one twenty. And I
actually brought him in in the seventh in Game two
and let him close out that game.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Really, so he had he had some time back. He
was able to come back in.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yes, yes, there you get one hundred and twenty pitches
in a day. And I told him, we don't play
it the next week, so you're using all one twenty
if we have to. But then I'll tell you a
game we could tell buck. Game two last night was crazy. So, uh,
you know the People's is our starting catcher. Bryce Turnlem started.
He's our other catcher, but he started on the mail
(03:11):
he did we need to do. You know, we're looking
him to go through to four and then handed over
to Landing Road and uh, that's kind of that was
kind of our plan. Well, Landing comes in. He's throwing.
He was anywhere from eighty seven to ninety I think
ninety one last night, and he was throwing, and he
was throwing the ball award, Well, he crosses our catcher,
(03:33):
people's gets crossed up. Take the ball a ninety miles
an hour fastball office throwing hands, so he can't he
had to come out of the game. We had already
used turning we had. Uh. Luckily we brought Tyler Lancaster
in as O. He's our ninth grade as zero varsity
experience as like an emergency catcher bullpen type catcher. He
(03:56):
got thrown in the fire and uh first bars the
actions in the sighting game of an area game. And
he did a great job catching and then he you know,
he worked a worked a great at bat for us
to go on in the inning where we took the lead.
So I man really proud of him. Colt Miller came in,
(04:17):
uh through two and two thirds coke and and did
really really good struck out too. And then I told
him when he was going out there for the seventh,
I said, if anybody gets on, I'm going to Brody.
And then so Brody comes in first to second, nobody out,
Colt goes to third. First pitch of the innings the
(04:39):
ground ball to Colt. We turned a double play and wow.
And so, uh it was a good night. Man. It
was a total team effort. Everybody contributed last night and
that that was what was really special about it.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
I know, it was first Area Series win coach since
seven eight Opa like has been in seven. I last
to make you feel good to know you guys took
care of that this year already.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yeah, I'm glad we got that monkeyl for back and uh,
you know, it was kind of hanging over there. I
think it was a way taking off our especially our
seniors back because they've been in it the whole time.
And uh and I was really happy for those guys
and they can play a little free freer now and
and we've got a big week coming up. So we
just got to, you know, keep moving forward, keep taking
(05:21):
it one step at a time and seeing what happened.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, Auburn is winless in the series and Central is
two and oh so like it would be tied with Smith.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Actually have the tie breaker for second place? Am I
right on that now?
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yes, yes, sir, right now, that's that's how That's how
it looks, and that's how it is. And so you know,
we just gotta you know, I don't care if we
just got to get in. We gotta find a way
to get in. So we've got to keep winning games,
and you know, whatever happens happened.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah. I like the fact it was good to see
that listening to you coach.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
About the fact that you're you guys persevered through that
game battle had the backs against their wall, you know
what I mean, they went over there and needing the
victory coaching, and uh, you know what I mean, Boom,
you got it.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, So yeah, I was really proud of him. Man.
They they did what it took and they were locked
in early yesterday. You could tell they wanted to they
really wanted to win, and they were gonna do whatever
it took to get it and they did. So I
was really proud of our guys last night. Yeah, it
sounds like comp and how they battled.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Sounds like it, coach, sounds like it.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
All right, anybody else you want to mention, I can't
get the stats up, coach on the.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yeah this morning, well all senses of stuff. The only
problem with you been able to read my status is
fucking over Central Smith.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Okay, oh okay, well then that's why.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Okay, then I wondered what was going on?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
All right, Okay, well but I'll send you a little something.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Okay, that's all right, coach. I was just trying to
bring the kids' names up, that's all.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah. So man, let me let me go over there.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
When I see Warner had two hits, I did see
that McDonald.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah, he had two hits in game one. Uh Brody
had three hits, Blade had uh one hitting three RB eyes,
Tyler Hudson had three RB eyes. Okay, the people's had
two hits. Uh TJ had a Arnold had a hit
in the two RB eyes. David Ford had a hitting
an rb I. In game two, let me look at this,
(07:35):
Hank Cutting had a hit and Brody had a hitting
an rb I. Blade had a hit, ty Hudson had
a hit. Warner had two hits. Will Brandon had two hits.
There you go, So it was it was a good night.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Sound like a good night, all right. So you got
the whole weekend offer, do you have a series this weekend?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Coach?
Speaker 3 (07:56):
We got him all. We got it off. Uh, you
know they got prom I think they got least cots prom.
We got a couple of players going to that our
proms tomorrow night. So you know we'll come in on
Sunday and get some work in and that today and tomorrow.
Give the coaches are really give us a more extended
time to look over Auburn and take our notes and
(08:18):
scout them and you know, get put a really good
playing together for them. They're a really good team.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah, yeah, sure, no doubt. Got to get in these playoffs.
It's one game at a time, ain't it.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Coach?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
That's right. That's what we talked a lot. We we say, hey,
just take it one pitch at a time. We say,
we call it see little c big. So we're gonna
see one pitch at a time, and then we'll step
away when the game's over, see the big picture where
we are, where we are in the playoffs, standings and
area standings and all that.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
There you go, all right, your team healthy, coach?
Speaker 3 (08:51):

the end of game two.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Hey, she's locked in, now, she's all then and then

the bus back to their super Man.
